EW revealed first look at Captain Marvel on their magazine cover as well as a first look photo. Captain Marvel hits theaters March 8, 2019.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers. She’s left her earthly life behind to join an elite Kree military team called Starforce, led by Jude Law’s enigmatic commander. But before long, Carol finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past. And she’s got a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls — the notorious Marvel baddies made all the more dangerous by their shape-shifting abilities. Ben Mendelsohn plays their leader Talos, who spearheads a Skrull invasion of Earth.

  • The source also claims that Charles "hates" when William and Harry partake in public "emoting" about their mother, Princess Diana.

  • In an extremely rare statement to The Express, Clarence House said the claims are "complete fiction."

The cover was posted here, but not the interview.

Selena Gomez took to Instagram today to complain about her new profile in Elle Magazine, where she blasted the magazine for asking personal questions. A look inside the interview reveals the actress didn't actually reveal much, refusing to comment on Justin Bieber's engagement, or even addressing concerns over working with Woody Allen; (When asked if there’s anything she’d like to say regarding Allen, she declines. “I think it’s best not to.”)

On social media: “I haven’t been on the internet in months. I don’t have my password for Instagram. I have no apps on my phone, no photo editing apps. I have Peak, a brain game.” (Gomez updates Instagram from her friend’s phone, who has access to her account.)

On turning 26: “It’s peaceful. The moment I turned 26, I felt 26. I feel very sure of where I am. I don’t feel erratic or emotionally unstable. Or like I can’t handle my emotions, like I used to. It’s kind of understanding myself a little more. By all means I don’t have myself figured out. But it feels good.”

On Demi Lovato: “All I’m saying is, I reached out personally. I didn’t do a public thing. I didn’t want to. I…I love her. I’ve known her since I was seven. So…it’s…that’s what I’ll say.”

On self-worth: “I’m not a materialistic person. I like getting massages, I love getting nice things...it’s just, is it connected to my worth? You can buy a nice thing to feel good. But is that my worth?”

Does Ariana Grande's Song Contain a Hidden, Backwards Message?

$
0
0

Ariana's new album Sweetener has been out for a minute, and fans believe that one song has a secret, hidden message.

The beginning of "breathin'" has a voice saying indistinguishable words. If you play the voice backwards, it sounds like a man saying, “Tonight is your special night, do something magical.” Fans believe that it may be Ariana's grandfather, who died in 2014.

It's not the first time that fans have found "hidden" messages in pop culture. The Beatles used this technique to hide messages in their songs. Some people believe that some heavy metal songs played backwards contain instructions for Satanic worship. People even believe that in Disney's Aladdin, there is a hidden part where a voice whispers, "Good children, take off your clothes."

ONTD Original: Ranking the Harry Potter soundtracks

$

0
Disclaimer: Entirely subjective
Warning: Media heavy

8. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Nicholas Hooper)
Hooper simply didn't try at all. No theme, no consistency.
Favourites: Flight of the Order of the Phoenix

7. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (John Williams)
I feel like the only remarkable thing about this score is Fawkes's beautiful theme.
Favourites: Fawkes the Phoenix

6. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Nicholas Hooper)
Hooper tried to redeem himself and it kinda worked.
Favourites: Opening, In Noctem, Dumbledore's Farewell

5. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone (John Williams)
Where it all begins. Classic Williams, notorious themes.
Favourites: Prologue, The Chess Game, Leaving Hogwarts <333

4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 (Alexandre Desplat)
All hail Alexandre Desplat! Wonerfully dark and ominous. Makes you shiver.
Favourites: Obliviate, Godric's Hollow Graveyard, The Elder Wand

3. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (John Williams)
Williams's best Potter score, in my opinion.
Favourites: A Window to the Past, Buckbeak's Flight

2. Hary Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (Alexandre Desplat)
Probably the most cohesive of them all.
Favourites: Lily's Theme, Statues, Courtyard Apocalypse

1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Patrick Doyle)
Fresh, consistently good throughout, and oh-so-beautiful. The score we all deserved. God, how I wish there was a better movie to go with it. :(
Favourites: Harry In Winter, Neville's Waltz, Foreign Visitors Arrive, Do the Hippogriff

Gwyneth Paltrow Ordered to Pay Paltry Sum of $145K for Her Misleading Vagina

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s lifestyle company and "can I speak to your manager" appreciation page, Goop, has agreed to pay a $145,000 settlement for “misleading” claims regarding the effectiveness of three of their products — most notably their Jade Egg and Rose Quartz Egg — which Goop advises inserting into the vagina to “increase sexual energy and pleasure” — and their Inner Judge Flower Essence Blend, which they said would help prevent depression* (*for rich, white women who suffer from temporary bouts of sadness brought on by particularly harsh NPR stories).

The lawsuit was brought against Goop Doggy Dog by ten counties in California, and argued that the company made unscientific claims about the health benefits of anything Gwyneth Paltrow has ever said.

“It’s important to hold anthropomorphic scarecrows companies accountable for unsubstantiated claims, especially when the claims have the potential to affect women’s health” Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas, representing one of the ten counties involved in the lawsuit, said in a statement.

NincumGoop denies “any liability,” and dismisses the notion that she received any complaints from customers, as she would never be caught dead talking to a peasant.

As noted in the opening of her IMDB biography, Gwyneth Paltrow is best know as a "tall, wafer thin, delicate beauty," best known for her roles in Shallow Hal, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, and Mortdecai, as well as being the personification of a bleached asshole.

11 (5) Scariest Religious Horror films

thenun.jpg

The Nun drops in theaters Fri (or tomorrow depending where youre at), marking the fifth installment in The Conjuring franchise. Religious themes have been in movies since the medium was introduced. Here's a run down of 11 or 5 memorable films in that vein for horror.

The Wicker Man

Released in 1973, this thriller is about the mystery of religion and how it can look insane to people on the outside looking in.

Rosemary's Baby

When young couple, Guy and Rosemary, decide to have a baby, things get weird involving cult members in their apartment building. Regarded as one of the best movies in the genre.

Prince Of Darkness

Taking a different approach to the Devil, a group of students are asked to investigate something in a church basement that may or may not possess people.

The Serpent And The Rainbow

Not using European religion as a base for horror, The Serpent And The Rainbow goes to Haiti and the indigenous voudoun. An anthropologist from Harvard goes to an island to get answers about reanimation after death for a pharmaceutical company.

The Exorcist

What list would be without The Exorcist? An iconic movie that divides people in religious belief and its scare factor that may or may not have held up since its release. The theme of self-sacrifice of Christianity is explored in this as well as faith.

ONTD Original:
5 Times Kpop Mirrored Western Pop

The KPOP industry is interesting to say the least. People observed that some songs blatantly plagiarized some of American songs in the past, but OP has also seen some cases where their visuals mirror things that happened in western pop. Are some of these reaches? Probably. That or American artists really influenced the artists/directors behind the scenes. This isn't to call anyone out but just to observe that American pop culture was in Korean pop, now art's in pop culture in an ONTD post.

SoRi & Ariana Grande

OP popped in into a recent kpop post and found out about this bop by an artist named SoRi with the song "Touch" (2018), and saw a clip in the video that was reminiscent to Ariana Grande's "No Tears Left to Cry" (early 2018). The similar frames of falling off a building and CGI effects jumped out - was this inspired by Grande?

S.E.S & TLC

Best selling American girl group TLC's "Creep" (1994) is a classic for sure, and the band may have inspired kpop band S.E.S in the music video "Fate World" (1999) with its street vibe, dance sequence, and angled shots. TLC's influence is actually direct, and S.E.S even danced to "Creep" in one of their concerts (@ 30:21).

Seungri & Lady Gaga

This one is kind of a kii, but the posh spice of BIGBANG Seungri in his music video for "V.V.I.P" (2011) opened with a similar fashion tableau like in music video of the century "Bad Romance" (2009) by Lady Gaga. Suddenly the koons is Victory?

HyunA & Beyonce

Some people saw similarities in Wonder Girls/4Minute's Hyuna's outfit in "Bubble Pop" (2011) and Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" (2003). She opened the video with a strut like Beyonce's, and took her outfit right to a tea in a white tank top, denim shorts, and red stilettos. Is Hyuna now the klepto?

Girls Generation/SNSD and Spice Girls

I've seen this comparison made before, but Girls Generation's music video for "Genie" (2010) echoed a lot of the Spice Girl's first reunion performance of "Stop" (2007). I don't see how this is just a coincidence to brush off... how many other girl groups performed in 1940's sailor themed outfits on a pink stage with a banner of the band's name hanging from behind? I guess it was a thing then. 👀

Legend Tiffany of SNSD showed her inner Spice Girls stan when she got to meet Legend Victoria a few years back. We love girl groups inspiring others on a global level! #SpiceUpYourLife
