Celebrities React to NYT Opinion Article From Anonymous WH Senior Official

Welp

Article title I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration
Article bi-line I work for the president but like-minded colleagues and I have vowed to thwart parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.

[Referring to the writer as “Anon”]

Anon says they aren’t part of the popular resistance on the left, but rather the resistance in the WH who feel a duty to serve the “country” despite the incomprehensible behavior of Pouty McFussypants [PMF]

It is implied that Anon considers themselves to be a Republican but one who believes in (lower case) conservatism of “free minds, free markets, and free people”.

Anon considers PMF to be amoral, lacking any discernible personal principles, and any progress has come in spite of, not because of, PMF who is a (paraphrasing) childish ignorant brat [Yeah, we know]

Believe that Americans should know that there are grownups doing their best to hold the fort down and are essentially running a “two-track” presidency. One that PMF spouts off, and another that is logical and sane (some examples given are NAFTA and Russia hacking and interference)

They don’t call themselves the “Deep State” they call themselves the “Steady State”

”Given the instability many witnessed, there were early whispers within the cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment, which would start a complex process for removing the president. But no one wanted to precipitate a constitutional crisis. So we will do what we can to steer the administration in the right direction until — one way or another — it’s over.”

Anon feels that the solution rests with Americans, who put country first.

Lemon: What a week. Jack: Lemon, it’s only Wednesday

25th Amendment

Short version is that there are probably not enough votes to force him out

Section 1. In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.

Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

• Last week, In-N-Out faced major backlash after a public filing revealed that the company had donated $25,000 to the state’s Republican Party.

• California Democratic Party Chairman Eric Bauman started the talk with a tweet that included the hash tag BoycottInNOut.

• “There is no boycott. I put one tweet out at 10:30 at night and it turned into a whole thing. We've raised so much money in small donations as a result of that one tweet and so many people have engaged with that tweet, almost a million people, so it's amazing how it became this big boycott.”

• He adds: “I'm gonna buy my staff In-N-Out burgers to celebrate our victory,” referring to the donations received since the controversy unfolded.

The State of the YouTube Beauty Guru Community

$

For those of you who are out of the loop, YouTube's beauty community is experiencing a purge with the likes of Laura Lee and Manny MUA despite both of them posting apology videos to address recent controversies (i.e. Laura's racist tweets and Manny's social climbing). Laura Lee, in particular, was ruthlessly mocked for posting what appeared to be a very disingenuous "crying"video. Even Trisha Paytas called her out.

This has prompted a bunch of "My Truth" videos from popular beauty gurus.

- The owner of Makeup Geek Marlena Stell states that her company isn't being talked about as much because they haven't paid influencers the massive amounts of money they are asking for (i.e. $60,000 for a video)

- Claims that there is a lot of social climbing and entitlement in the beauty community but won't name names because she doesn't want to start drama

- Says companies are at fault too. Influencers are being paid to give negative reviews.

- Wants to give support to smaller influencers because they tend to be more genuine.

- Professional makeup artist Kevin James Bennett supported Marlena's claims in an Instagram post saying that an influencer was charging $50-$60K for a dedicated product review and $75-$85K for a dedicated negative review of a competitor's product.

Jacyln Hill posted her own video contradicting some of Marlena's claims.

- Video is 45 minutes long. Talks about her new Dark Magic palette with Morphe.

- An influencer told her that they get paid $70K for talking about one product for 30 seconds in their video.

- Says she doesn't do sponsored videos because there are too many rules.

- Claims that influencers aren't getting paid to do negative reviews.

- Says she's been offered two $1 million contracts.

  • Ladytron is making a new album after a seven year hiatus

  • They released the first single, "Animals", back in April but nobody told OP

  • "The Island" is the second single.

  • The album is set for release sometime this fall.

  • Clash Magazine interviewed band members Helen Marnie and Daniel Hunt.

  • About "This Island", Helen said: "Yes, it is a personal song. It was triggered by an event in my own life, but equally it’s broader than that trigger. I guess it’s a cry for help, a call out to like minded people who are passionate about our world and where it’s heading."

  • About the video and the director Bryan M. Ferguson: "For me, Bryan’s film shows this banality of evil. That is amplified by the setting for those of whom it is familiar. If such a ghastly project existed now, in the UK, it would be managed by these kind of bored, dead-eyed, Serco employees. When I see something described as a dystopian future, it always strikes me that only those living in a very tiny bubble of privilege on this planet do not sense that we are already there."

Were Janet Jackson and Bobby Brown an item?

Last night, BET aired it's first part of a two part series called "The Bobby Brown Story" and some people were more than a little surprised at some of revelations from the movie. Mainly one concerning Ms. Janet Jackson.

The film (which we're suuure Bobby has no part in lol) claims Brown had an intimate relationship with Janet Jackson, bought her a flashy car, and even threw a naked Janet out of his hotel room.

Bobby further alleges that Janet refused to go public with their relationship because he was dark skin and black. The film alludes to this being a thing in the Jackson family.

The network being disgustingly messy promoted their upcoming "Black Girls Rock" special, WITH Janet Jackson, right after the scene of fictional Bobby claiming she doesn't like black men.
