Jack White published an open letter complaining about all the media coverage of his leaked tour rider from when he played Oklahoma University a couple of weeks ago.  The student newspaper at OU published his contract and tour rider, claiming the documents were public domain and that students deserved to know.  He was paid $80k for his date plus up to 90% of all ticket sales, meaning he makes a shitload of money per date he plays.  The rider in particular included a specific recipe for guacamole, which has earned everything from praise to my favorite, "Jack White takes plenty of music from other cultures and makes it more white.  I feel like that's what he's doing here."  He also banned bananas.  He was pissy about it at the show, and then his booking company blacklisted the university from future events.

Apparently this has blown up and Jack White is pissed and felt the need to write an open letter addressing it.

    JW's main points:
    - the guac recipe isn't his, and he can't even make kool-aid.  it's an inside joke with his tour manager
    - someone has a banana allergy
    - he's not a diva
    - these million articles is why he's never published a rider but is ok with the public knowing where public funds are allocated
    - he is in fact returning to OK because he loves Oklahoma
    - young journalists have hopefully learned their lesson and he's not pissed at them, but rather at the media blowing up his guac recipe and whatever

    Source but rewritten by me

ONTD, how do you like your guacamole?

Sophie Turner:“On Game of Thrones, as much as some people might disagree with me, I think (nudity) is all very necessary [...] They can really manipulate people through men’s desires,” says Turner. “So I think it’s quite necessary they show that aspect.”

Nathalie Emmanuel:“It’s some of the appeal, let’s be honest,” says Emmanuel. “But to just focus on the fact that somebody is nude — it’s kind of underselling it a bit, because it’s so much more than that.”

On Missandei's scene with Grey Worm:“There’s nothing salacious about it ... he’s interested in her and then she kind of realizes she doesn’t mind that,” says Emmanuel. “I feel like it was a really lovely scene and a really lovely way of doing it.”

Carice Van Houten:“They can see people blow up and they can see blood, but they are very afraid of nipples. I find that quite strange,” she says. “And it tells how much people are still so uncomfortable with nudity, with their own sexuality.

“When it becomes sexist, I don’t agree with nudity,” Van Houten says. “But it’s a part of life, and I think we deal with it so well in the show and it’s so tasteful. Especially for my character, it’s part of her instrument. It’s her weapon.”

Kit Harington:“There is a lot of male nudity on Thrones,” insists Harrington. “Unfortunately, you can’t show a man sexualized on TV, because of all the problems that entails.”

I get the cast (trying to) justify all the nudity on the show, but I still rme. Even Natalie's tried to downplay the disparity in the show's nudity and it's like "no tho." I'm not the one contractually obligated to praise this shit tho, so I get it.

Kate Upton and Justin Verlander made the most of their working holiday in Miami. Kate was in town shooting her newest Express campaign but the model took a break to give support to her baseball player boyfriend while he had his own editorial photo shoot on the beach in Miami on Saturday.

They then capped off the weekend with a dinner at Juvia to celebrate Valentine's Day.

Fifth Harmony set to launch new single "Worth It", beginning March 3rd

Currently at #93 on the Billboard Hot 100, the new single "Worth It" is set to impact pop radio on March 3, says label Epic Records*. Radio industry sources also confirm a March 3 impact at rhythmic radio.

The new single is already supported by a few stations in the US and will more than likely gain some traction when it makes it's radio debut.

Q: ONTD, if you could be Fifth Harmony's record label for a year, which singles would you choose and in what order?

Yahoo! News reports that this Friday writer/director Richard Glatzer (Quinceanera, Still Alice) was rushed to the hospital due to severe respiratory problems. Glatzer was diagnosed with ALS right around the time that he and his husband/writing and directing partner Wash Westmoreland took on the Oscar nominated Still Alice as a project. By the time the film went into production a year and a half later Glatzer's health had deteriorated to the point where he had to use an iPad on set to communicate.

Westmoreland updated his Facebook page yesterday giving an update on Glatzer who remains hospitalized and is currently communicating through blinking.

The best of times/worst of times is continuing. On Friday, I went to rent some tuxedos for the Oscars and when I returned to the house, Richard was having breathing problems. After a few hours on the home respirator, I realized things were getting serious and called 9-1-1. The ambulance came quickly but by the time he got to the ER, his fingers were turning blue. He was immediately intubated so he could breathe but during this process he went into cardiac arrest. The team went into emergency mode, brought in the defibrillators and started doing CPR. They tried four times and nothing happened. I was in total shock at this point, unable to believe what was happening. The fifth time, a weak pulse showed up on the machine and he came back to life. Richard had been legally dead for 15 minutes.

He was immediately put on heavy sedation and his body was chilled for 24 hours to try to stop any neurological damage from the trauma. A lot of times, people just don’t come back after an episode like that. I spent a hard night with friends developing rationales to keep hope alive. Then yesterday, late in the afternoon, they started to ease off the sedation and he opened one eye. The doctor started doing tests but I immediately saw everything I needed to see in that eyeball — the way it moved and focussed. He was still there. And he was ALL there.

We soon developed a blink code like in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly so Richard could communicate his needs. He has been complaining a lot — which is music to my ears. To his amazement, I explained to him what happened the night before — that he had done a Lazarus. I was hoping to hear some stories about floating around out-of-body but when pressed, he couldn’t remember any details about the afterlife — which he’s never professed to believe in anyway.

So looks like we’ll be watching the Oscars from the hospital room amidst the beeping machines. Not so glamorous but I wouldn’t have it any other way. And Richard will be alive to see it.

“Ultimately it’s Steve’s story; it doesn’t say ‘Iron Man 4: Civil War’. I think that’s great too.”(sure, robert).

“I think Chris [Evans] has been hungry to bring even more of an underside and some shadow to that. I remember the comics - on the surface you got the sense that Cap was baseball and apple pie, but underneath there was all this churning stuff of being a man out of time. Now we know he’s made his peace with that. What’s the bigger issue? It can have a little something to do with the past, but it can be about someone becoming more modernised in their own conflict.”

ATL's hottest new accessory is a rich, secret African boyfriend.

-Nene wasn't in this episode and I didn't miss her one bit.
-Claudia seems to be trying to concoct some storyline where Porsha is bullying her but she just looks ridiculous.
-Kenya and Brandon played pretend producers and cast a vanity pilot that will never be made.
-Apollo discovered texts between Phaedra and "Mr. Chocolate" and proceeded to lose his mind. (The countdown and plantation texts were cold as shit though)
-Cynthia heard the rumor about Phaedra's "African connection" from Peter....and proceeded to repeat that rumor to anyone who would listen.
-WHY did the producers allow Apollo to approach Phaedra with a drill in his hand???!!

never forget, RHOA's original African connection:
