Brazilian judge reopens criminal case against Justin Bieber days before his Rio concert
In 2013, Justin Bieber came to Rio de Janeiro for a leg of his world tour. He was granted permission from the city to graffiti a wall in Vidigal, however, Bieber went instead with his friends and security to São Conrado, where they vandalised the wall of Hotel Nacional, which is protected by the Brazilian government as part of the historical and cultural heritage of the country, as it was designed by legendary architects Oscar Niemeyer and Burle Marx.
A complaint was filed against the "singer", and he was charged with a crime against the city order and cultural heritage. At the time, the police was not able to locate him and consequently he was not notified about the criminal case against him. Bieber took to Instagram to mock Brazilian justice ("who's gonna stop me huh"). The case was suspended in 2015 so the statute of limitations wouldn't run out.
But now the young delinquent is due to perform in Rio on the 29th and in São Paulo on April 1st and 2nd. The State Prosecutor in Rio requested that the criminal case be reopened. A judge granted the request and also authorised the use of police force in order for Bieber to be served.

Set in 2010, the third season centers on “Emmit” and his slightly younger brother “Ray Stussy” (both played by Ewan McGregor). Emmit, the Parking Lot King of Minnesota, sees himself as an American success story, whereas Ray is more of a cautionary tale. Forever living in his more successful brother’s shadow, Ray is a balding and pot-bellied parole officer with a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt – and he blames his brother.
Their sibling rivalry follows a twisted path that begins with petty theft but soon leads to murder, mobsters and cut-throat competitive bridge. Carrie Coon stars as “Gloria Burgle,” the steady chief of the local police department. A newly divorced mother, Gloria is trying to understand the new world around her, where people connect more intimately with their phones than with the people around them. Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as Ray’s girlfriend, “Nikki Swango,” a crafty and alluring recent parolee with a passion for competitive bridge. David Thewlis stars as “V.M. Vargas,” a mysterious loner and true capitalist whose bosses plan to partner with Emmit, whether “The Parking Lot King” likes it or not.

Aimee Mann Subscribes to the Goose Newsletter, Makes Video Starring Cat
The video stars a cat named Goose and her owner Puloma Basu. (Puloma also co-directed with her husband Rob Hatch-Miller.) Goose joins the likes of Laura Linney and Jon Hamm who have starred in previous Aimee Mann videos. Aimee Mann wrote the song when she was homesick and saw a picture of Goose wearing a kitty cone of shame on Instagram.

“I wrote “Goose Snow Cone” when I was on tour in Ireland, on a cold and snowy day. I was feeling very homesick when I saw a picture on Instagram of a cat I know named Goose. Her fluffy white face was looking up at the camera in a very plaintive way, like a little snowball, and I started singing a little song about her that turned into a song about loneliness. I intended to change the lyrics but could never find a phrase to replace the one I started with. When it came time to make a video, I knew the original Goose had to be in it. Her owners are my friends Rob and Puloma who coincidentally produce and direct videos. One of my cats had recently gone through a long illness and I was thinking about that when I came up with the idea for the video, and I knew Puloma had to star in it, as she has a very lovely and expressive face. The vet in the video is my actual vet and he’s a great guy. It was not easy wrangling Goose but the magic of editing makes it all work!” - Aimee Mann
PS this is a cat post. Also don't worry, Goose was fine when she had the cone on. It was after she got spayed. That didn't stop me from crying when I watched the video tho. If you're wondering what's up with the q-tips, it's her fave toy.

Shohreh left Iran shortly after the 1979 revolution to pursue a career as an actress. She shared her story with Here & Now. Here are some excerpts :
- "In terms of diversity, this is one of the most diversified shows of all. We enjoy this so much. We are of different backgrounds, nationalities, color of skin, accents. We're living peacefully, working peacefully, lovingly, next to one another. You see, this what's been happening in our society for at least a couple of decades. My neighbors here are from Nigeria to the left, Canada to the right, France right in front of me. We've been living, breathing the same air, for the last 20 years. We don't see a lot of reflection of it on the silver screen. The reason is because of the fact that executive producers, studios cannot trust in us enough to put it on the silver screen. Those who are doing it are now seeing how beneficial it is to our society, to understand that this is not the future, it's now. We're living next to each other and we're working with each other. We're all working for the benefit of the world."
- "The day I left Iran, right at the time of the turmoil [the last days of the fall of the shah during the 1979 revolution], I turned myself into an actress with a mission. I always wanted to be a part of a meaningful, substantial storytelling that would be enlightening, educational and helpful to the people."
- "It was in those days that I decided that it was no place for an outspoken actress like myself under an Islamic republic in Iran.
