Miley Cyrus: 'In A Past Life I Was Lil' Kim'

Miley Cyrus has returned to pop music with a revamped image and sound, as "We Can't Stop," the lead single from her fourth studio album, has risen to No. 5 on the Hot 100 chart thanks to a menacingly catchy hook and Mike WiLL Made-It's pristine beat. In the "We Can't Stop" music video, which has earned 47 million YouTube views after premiering last month, Cyrus presents herself as an irrepressible, confident female figure -- and over the course of her career, the 20-year-old has had a lot of positive female artists to learn from.

During Cyrus' sit-down with Billboard for her recent cover story, the pop star chatted about her five all-time favorite female musical artists for the latest edition of Pop Shop's "Gimme Five" series. Among her choices? Lil Kim, about whom she says, "In my past life, I feel like that was me. I feel like Lil Kim is who I am on the inside."

Nas will be the first artist to perform as a part of this season's "Postgame Concert Series".

The series will also feature acts such as Third Eye Blind and O.A.R.

Each show will be included with the purchase of Mets tickets. You can buy tickets to the game in which Nas will appear here.

But fuck Nas tho because it is the one time all year that I'll be halfway across the country and he'll be performing 10 minutes from home.

The Frank Ocean Effect and Some “Bisexual” Guys I've Known

tumblr_m6ggd18pOd1ryxr0lo1_500
I never quite understood the stigma against bisexual men. (There is one, especially among gay men.)
Granted, labeling oneself a “bisexual” is something many men do to ease into full-on homosexuality; it is also a way for men to hold on to a shred of "acceptable" sexuality as they pursue their less mainstream interests (believe me, I've been there). But the idea that one person could be attracted to multiple genders is not inconceivable. People discuss much more far-out sexual proclivities all of the time. I hate being told by clueless straight bigots what’s going on inside of me; I’d hate getting it from gays even more.
I believe men when they tell me they’re bisexual—or, as happens more often, when they claim to be attracted to men and women, but don’t want to be saddled with a label. I believe the four guys profiled below.

Within the past year, all four have slept with (and wanted to sleep with) both men and women. They all say they intend to continue doing so. All of them have hooked up with more men than woman (mostly because of matters of ease and availability), and none feels particularly tied to a monolithic culture, the way a gay guy might (in popular culture bisexuality tends to exist as a nuance or subplot, unlike scene-stealing homosexuality). None of these guys is particularly fond of the term “bisexual.” Call it the Frank Ocean effect.
I parlayed the sexual intimacy I shared with these four guys—all of whom identify more or less as bisexual, all at various points in their development as adults—into an interview scenario. In general, they were less naturally introspective about their sexuality than your average gay guy. Whatever culture results from being a male who sleeps with men and women, it largely happens internally for these guys. But even when they had trouble pointing to an absolute truth, or when their words were inconsistent and contradictory, they were candid, and I appreciated it.
All of the names have been changed and a few details have been obscured to ensure the anonymity of the subjects of this piece.

Allen, 19
When Allen and I were putting our clothes back on, I asked him how he identified sexually. "I’m sleeping with guys and girls for now, but I'll probably just end up doing guys because that's how these things usually work," he said with such tranquility he might as well have yawned it all out. I told him that he was awfully sure of himself for a period that was supposed to be fraught with uncertainty. He shrugged.
Allen is beefy and athletic, with a body somewhere between a football and baseball player. He's laid back, with a stoned personality (though he's not into weed), and is fixated on notions of masculinity and femininity. "There are gay guys and there are faggots,” he told me once.
We were walking in public together recently, and a guy with a stereotypically gay voice was emoting loudly just over our shoulders. "I hate that," he told me. I sighed, exasperated at this puppy that needs training. I reprimanded him, telling him to mind his own business. If he gives effeminate guys a hard time, I told him, he’s no better than a straight homophobe. He shut up. A few weeks later, he texted me about it: "When you tell me things I really do listen I promise. I never thought kids couldn't be flamey and all that idk I know they're still our people and I always would have their backs but I never thought of it like that." He's learning, I think.
In light of this, Allen’s ease with sex is surprising. He's totally versatile and will top or bottom depending on the guy—his age or younger, he likes to top; for guys older than him, he prefers to bottom. "It’s just the whole power thing I guess… I think of it more as a given right type of thing: You’re older so I should bottom." When he isn't holding on to teenage shitheadedness, Allen can be very polite.
When we first met, he wasn't entirely open. When he refused to kiss me on the mouth, I joked that he was acting like a whore in Pretty Woman. "What's that?" he asked. He is, after all, 19.
"Kissing men kind of skeeves me out a little bit," he explained. "I would be completely fine blowing someone over making out with him. It’s just one of those little tweaks I guess. I just don’t like kissing guys. Yet, I should say. I know one day I will. It’s the whole transitional thing again.”
Allen is out to his family and friends in college. He says that they didn't have a hard time accepting him. If anything, the hardest time has been had by Allen, as he accepts their acceptance.
"I’m really comfortable with the situation, but it’s new so I’m insecure about it," he says, having come out a little over a year ago. "I have no problem telling people I’m bisexual or I like guys, but I’m not used to being called bi or gay. When people say that, I still get a little defensive about it."
So is he gay or what? "Gay and bisexual are just labels," he told me. "People are people. I don’t really like the whole label thing. I think when you label someone gay, straight, or bi, you’re judging them. It’s just people. People are people. Your sexuality doesn’t make you who you are."
He finds sex with women to be a "more emotional" experience, and with men, sex is more physical. ("Guys just need a release, really.") "I don’t really run into many vers[atile] guys," he said. "I think more people should be vers, it’s a lot funner. More people should be bisexual, it’s a lot funner."
Allen draws the line between sex and passion: Sex is for all, but passion is for women, or at least, it was when we talked initially. He "didn't want to think about" how many men he's hooked up with, but he told me that it's more than he can count on his fingers and toes, but fewer than 60. He'd hooked up with a female "about three weeks" before we met. It was a booty call from someone at his school. He meets the men that he hooks up with online.
"For the time Grindr works because you can find other masculine guys that are like you," he said. "And then if you never want to see them again, you never have to."

Jay-Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail arrives tomorrow, July 4, and though we've learned much about the man's 12th studio album — the cover art, the lyrics, the collaborators — we've still yet to get into the nitty gritty. Enter Timbaland. The multi-faceted producer had a major hand in the making of MCHG and he goes in-depth about that experience in the lengthy new interview above dubbed "Timbaland Unlocks the Holy Grail."

In speaking to Revolt TV, he discusses the process behind many of the album's songs, and even plays some snippets along the way. He also addresses his former fallout with Jigga and his return to the Roc Nation fold; his experience in helping to craft Justin Timberlake's sound; what it was like to mentor J. Cole (currently No. 2 on the charts); and his personal struggles with drug use and creativity.Oh, and he refers to Kanye West's Yeezus as "Rage Against the Machine" rap.

Aaron Tveit Leg Wrestles On LIVE! WITH KELLY & MICHAEL

While appearing as a guest on popular, long-running morning talk show LIVE!, its current incarnation hosted by Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, earlier this week, Broadway regular and LES MISERABLES breakout star Aaron Tveit took on the famous football star-turned-host in a some good-natured leg wrestling during a commercial break.

Refereed by none other than Ripa herself, Tveit and Strahan proceed to lock legs in an awkwardly devised position for the two admitted athletic devotees before both are seen giving into some friendly gamesmanship - and then giving up!

Later on, LIVE! WITH KELLY & MICHAEL took to their Tout page to post the behind-the-scenes glimpse of the star and hosts entertaining the studio audience in between segments as the caustic clip clearly shows.

That's live TV - even entertaining in between segments, apparently!

Of course, Tveit can currently be seen Thursdays on USA's new drama series GRACELAND.

Videos won't embed. Go here and here.

Well, I was going to post Aaron's interview on Kelly & Michael, but Tumblr failed so, so hard, and no one has his interview online. Instead, they're making shit like this. YOU HAD ONE JOB, CHILDREN. It is summer; you don't have school, and you're not old enough to work. If you are going to stan someone, you better damn well at least do it right. Making flower crown photoshops helps no one.

Who got evicted? Which team won the HOH competition? & Who is the new HOH?

VOTING RESULTS

Who was evicted?

The man with no brain, but a head of hair.... DAVID

Helen, Spencer, Judd, Howard, Andy, Amanda and Nick voted to evict David.
Candice, Kaitlin, Jeremy, Gina and Aaryn voted to evict Elissa.

David also parted ways by giving Julie one of the most difficult interviews ever. He lacked mental comprehension, and I think even she was caught off guard.

HOH Results

This week's HOH was determined through a team relay-like challenge. (The challenge that happens every year where people need to fill up a jug to collect a small ping pong ball. Though, this time, it was team based)

Teams were:

Aaryn & Jeremy
Jessie & Howard
Spencer & Helen
Andy & Elissa
Nick & Judd
Amanda & Kaitlin
Candice & GinaMarie

And the winning team was....

The racist and the misogynist
or known on television as Aaryn and Jeremy...

The 2 now have to decide, who will actually hold the title of HOH and put up nominees.

[edit] & the HOH is the Racist

Thus, this week will be fun. If Jeremy was HOH, i wouldn't have been surprised if only women were on the block. And since Aaryn is HOH, I'd bet on Elissa and minorities being put on the block.

The 30-year-old actor took off his sunglasses and flashed a big smile while leaving the market with groceries with Kaley, 27, after their shopping trip.

Kaley met up with her new beau after taking her dog to the vet.

Earlier in the day, Kaley wore a zig-zag striped top while shopping at Dari and she also met up with some friends to do some horseback riding at Rancho De Las Palmas. She also stopped by Starbucks early in the morning.

The Walking Dead Game: 400 Days Review "Telltale has ended up with a new cast worth caring about"

$
0
0

By the end of The Walking Dead: 400 Days, it's hard to shake the feeling that Telltale is just showing off at this point.
It's not just that the studio is able to spin five taut, well-told narratives in around 15 to 20 minutes a pop. It's that each is filled with more fully realized characters than most games can gin up over the span of hours.

The episode begins with a selection of photos tacked to a bulletin board, each representing one of five stories that can be played in any order.

After that selection, little time is wasted on exposition: Within moments, I was thrown into a tense (often zombie-centric) situation I had to navigate via some of the hard choices that are practically a Walking Dead trademark.

Will road-weary teen Russell take sex-obsessed Nate up on his offer of a lift? How far will Shel go to protect the innocence of her sister? Telltale is on familiar thematic ground here, like the unexpected repercussions of compassion and the struggle between self-interest and communal unity, but that doesn't make these often no-win decisions any less captivating.

Though the stories take place at different points in the 400 days since zombies began roaming the earth, they overlap in some unexpected ways. There are even some subtle nods to Walking Dead's first season, but don't expect to see any established characters popping their heads in.

It's part of what makes 400 Days so impressive, in fact, that Telltale is able to start with such an absolutely clean slate and end up with a whole new cast of characters I cared about and wanted to get to know better.

Will players get that chance? By the end of 400 Days, it feels like we've possibly been introduced to the cast that will ground Season 2, but Telltale is staying mum on how the two games will intertwine, so that's just guesswork (or maybe wishful thinking on my part).

In a sense, how this mini-episode and Season 2 overlap will actually color my impression of 400 Days. It doesn't really push the game's mechanics forward in any meaningful way and there aren't any loose ends from Season 1 being tied up. It's a captivating diversion, but if that's all it is, it'll be hard to not be a little disappointed.

If this is a prologue, though, it's a brilliant way to introduce these characters, to give the player a little skin in the game before Season 2 is even on their hard drive. Either way, 400 Days is a wonderful little anthology and a heartening reminder that, even in a world that has been thoroughly mined across countless media, Telltale is still able to unearth new stories.

SOURCE
400 Days was so good and since I'm presuming that majority of the people on here is playing The Walking Dead on the PC, in which the DLC came out today for you guys, what choices did you end up making ONTD? (mine are under the spoiler tab)

  • With Vince I ended up shooting Danny's ankle (the one that was accused of being a rapist), I'm ngl this was probably the only choice I didn't think through and jumped the gun on (no pun intended)

  • With Wyatt I got out of the car after loosing 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' and tried to help the cop

  • With Russell I decided to leave Nate when he wanted to shoot the old couple (out of all the characters Nate was the one who scared me the most, ugh)

  • With Bonnie, I was honest with Leland about accidentally killing his wife (BUT WHAT WAS IN THE BAG?)

  • With Shel, I voted to shoot the trespasser and went ahead and killed Stephanie (this was the one choice I debated the most with since there was unlimited time), Shel was the only one in my group as well who didn't leave the campsite at the end

Farrah Abraham to open alcohol-free restaurant for recovering alcoholics

$

Farrah Abraham is such a renaissance woman. When this girl isn't having professional porn stars knocking at her backdoor, she can be found binge eating pasta sauce and working on her restaurant, which up until recently was called "F&S." Back in 2012, Farrah said her eatery would feature "cooking classes, a bar like club, and a cafe" all located in a "compound building," but guys? How times have changed.

Farrah's currently in rehab at The Lukens Institute for alcohol abuse, and it looks like her recent DUI has caused her to have a change of heart.

“The main theme and purpose of why I’m making this restaurant is really the community involvement,” Farrah told HollywoodLife before checking into rehab. “It’s called DD’s.”

Um, come again? DD's as in the size of Farrah's newest implants? Hah, as if!

“It’s drinks and donuts, but everything is non-alcoholic and the program is for having designated drivers making good driving choices and decisions," she explains. "I personally am going through a DWI situation, having to pay a lot of fines." Wait, so Farrah's restaurant is an eatery for recovering drunk drivers?

“I feel like when people are going through special hardships and have so many restraints put on them, it’s good to be rewarded,” she says. “It’s good to have free food. It’s good to have all these perks when you go out and eat and a fun and great environment.”

Double wait — Farrah's new resto is offering free food? Someone explain, because we're currently envisioning a bikini-littered cave filled with donuts and former alcoholics.

This flyer confirms a few cool things. First, new merchandise. We will be receiving:
new Sailor Moon apparel
new Sailor Moon eyeliner
new Sailor Moon gashapon
new DVD box set

Plus, it says that the new merchandise is aimed towards young women in the 20s. Which we kind of already knew, but hey, an official confirmation is nice.

There’s also some information about when the new anime series will premiere. It says that the series is officially in production, and will be scheduled to begin sometime between this November and January of 2014.

Sounds pretty cool! My copy of Nakayoshi magazine for this announcement is here, so I’ll be making a more detailed post about this tonight. There’s some information about the release dates for the new Sailor Moon 20th anniversary figurines, as well as release dates for some of the previously announced new Sailor Moon merchandise like the Shining Moon Powder compact, the Nail Collection, the smart phone cases, etc. Nothing too revolutionary, everything that is new I’ve listed above.

Momoiro Clover Z, the JPOP idol group who is confirmed to be performing the new Sailor Moon anime theme song, will be having a concert August 4th in which they will be making an announcement regarding the new Sailor Moon anime series. The flyer recaps Momoclo’s performance in Paris during the 20th anniversary Niconico Douga live stream event in which the new Sailor Moon anime was announced, and gives ticket information and concert schedule for Momoiro Clover Z’s upcoming tour.
