The 'Cabin in the Woods' actor says that newly tapped director Alan Taylor is going to make Thor's homeland more special by bringing more Viking-inspired aspects to the sequel.

After wrapping "The Avengers", Chris Hemsworth is gearing up to film "Thor 2" in August. While plot details of the sequel are still kept secret, the Australian actor recently opened up that in the follow-up film, Thor's homeland Asgard will likely have more Viking-inspired touch with newly tapped director Alan Taylor serving behind the lens.

Speaking to Slash Film, the older brother of Liam Hemsworth said that Asgard will have "big waterfalls and mountains and a Viking influence, where the Norse mythology kind of grew from." He added, "Having that in Asgard is going to make it all the more special and that's what Alan wants to bring to it. I think that would be the new aspect to this one."

The "Cabin in the Woods" actor added that he has already read the script and admitted he is excited about shooting the "Thor" sequel. He said, "I have read a script and we start shooting in August. I met with Alan Taylor a couple of months ago and Natalie Portman and I and Alan and a couple of Marvel guys and it was hugely exciting."

With Taylor replacing Kenneth Branagh as the helmer, Hemsworth believed that the next God of Thunder movie is going to be more exciting. He said, "Ken did such a wonderful job and, with scheduling or what have you, he didn't end up doing this one, but I'm a big fan of the 'Game of Thrones' series, which is Alan's latest work, and I think that is what's exciting about the second one."

The 28-year-old then said that Taylor would make the sequel "sort of more tangible" and have "a more organic feel to Asgard and that world." He added, "I think the science fiction element to 'Thor'... the danger is it falls a little bit into the world of its 'tough to throw a light to'."

"Thor 2" is written by Rodat, who penned the original script from Don Payne. The anticipated Marvel superhero movie has been scheduled to make its way out to the U.S. theaters on November 15, 2013.
