She may only be 22, but Shailene Woodley can already count on the wisdom of a seasoned actor for advice.
In a new interview with Splash Magazine, the actress candidly spoke about her close relationship with actor George Clooney, with whom she starred in 2011 movie The Descendants.
'He’s like my second dad. He’s got my back,' Woodley said. 'I’ve never met somebody in the industry who’s more grateful, who pays it forward without talking about it in the press or speaking about it to anyone else.'
'That to me was the best advice, just learning through his actions,' the brunette beauty explained about the Academy Award winning actor.
The Descendants followed Clooney's quest for closure following his wife's near-fatal boating accident and earned the star an Academy Award nomination.
And shooting the movie in Hawaii described how filming in the Aloha state motivated her to become more environmentally focused in a movement she described as 're-wilding'.
'It was the first time I’d been surrounded by that much nature,' she said. 'It really raised the stakes for the life I wanted to live.
The young actress looked pretty as a picture on the cover of the magazine, with her short brunette mane elegant swept back behind her ears.
Woodley accentuated her light eyes with an application of mascara and eyeliner, and kept her complexion radiant with a dusting of pink blush.
The actress also spoke about her hotly anticipated film Divergent, which she explained offers a fresh take on romantic relationships between young adults.
'In a lot of young adult films, relationships are based on attraction and materialism versus respect, honour and communication,' Woodley explained.
'I thought this would be a great platform to showcase what love can be. It doesn’t have to be something that revolves around codependency.'
