GH's Jon Lindstrom on His Marriage to Cady McClain! It's good to be Jon Lindstrom! The multi-talented fan fave is best known as Dr. Kevin Collins on ABC's General Hospital. The actor recently got hitched in a hush-hush ceremony to his longtime love Cady McClain — the iconic Dixie on All My Children and soon to be Kelly Andrews on The Young and the Restless. TV Guide had a gab session with Lindstrom to discuss it all!
TV Guide: Congrats on the marriage.Jon Lindstrom: Cady and I got married on February 14 at the Beverly Hills courthouse and had a wonderful party at home with our friends and family. Very intimate. We had it catered by a burger truck and set up a bar in the back.
It was simple and perfect. Cady did an amazing job putting it together. My folks came from the Northwest and Cady's sister from San Diego. Lynn Herring, Kin Shriner and John York were there. Just a few old pals. It was a great day!TV Guide: The court is famed for its spontaneous weddings. Was that the case?Lindstrom: No, it wasn't spontaneous but nor was it always the plan. We've been engaged for quite a while and it just seemed like the natural order of things.
We also felt that there would be real protection for one another if we got married. We love each other deeply and get along so well that it was kinda like, why not? I'm not going anywhere. Cady's not going anywhere. So, really, why not? TV Guide: No thoughts of doing something more elaborate?Lindstrom: There was never a chance we were going to do a big thing. Some of the magazines heard we were planning something and wanted to come photograph it. That would never happen with us. We're very private people and we don't like to share those things. [Laughs] We're not into pomp and circumstance.TV Guide: Did you have a honeymoon?Lindstrom: We went off to Mexico to a fantastic place near Ixtapa. Very chill, very low key, just exactly what we wanted. Eric Idle was staying there at the same time, which was kinda cool.TV Guide: Now you're a filmmaking family! I've seen Cady's films and they're exceptional. Lindstrom: My beautiful love was an associate producer on How We Got Away With It and was invaluable. She really got inspired to go out and make her own films. She's an extraordinary visual artist and really nails it as a director. It's been so incredible to have each other as we expand our careers in this way. We're a constant source of love and support for each other. It's what we do.Eileen Davidson back at DAYS & Y&R!After eight months away from Salem, Eileen Davidson (Kristen) reports back to the DAYS set today. The actress was last seen on the soap in November, but actually taped her final scenes last summer.
"I'm speculating just like every other fan on what the basis of her return is," shares Eric Martsolf (Brady).
"I'll see her in the make up room on Monday morning. But the show is keeping a tight lid on her story."The actress recently tweeted,
"I'm grateful! It's so much fun getting my 'Kristen' on!" Look for her to first air in July.
Even though she's back to work on DAYS as Kristen, Eileen Davidson is squeezing Y&R into her hectic schedule to make an appearance as Ashley.
The actress and Beth Maitland (Traci) will both be back in the studio on March 20 to tape scenes that will air on April 18, when the sisters come to Genoa City for a family event. Ashley will also air on April 21.
"I'm looking forward to being a bad girl and then a good girl and then a bad girl again," Davidson exclusively tells Digest.
Martha Byrne previews her role in NBC's CRISIS!“I like to be a busy person,” says former soap opera actress Martha Byrne by cell phone from her car parked outside a Bergen County gym, pre-workout, on a freezing December morning.
It’s safe to say that Byrne, 44, is enjoying her current schedule. This month marks the premiere of the Mahwah resident’s new NBC show, Crisis, a 24-like drama that centers on students kidnapped from an elite Washington, D.C., school. Byrne plays Marie Wirth, the mother of a victim; Gillian Anderson and Dermot Mulroney star.
Byrne was among the leads in Preying for Mercy, a thriller that saw limited release in January. And thanks to the popularity of Gotham, the Internet-based soap opera she wrote, starred in, produced and directed in 2009, she’s sifting through offers to executive produce additional web-only programs.
Add to that a pair of businesses based in Paramus. In 2011, with her childhood friend Mario Costabile, a musician who owns the Paramus-based label the Vine Records, she launched ShowBiz Bootcamp, an academy-like program for aspiring performers ages 10 to 25. The boot camp is an offshoot of Full Circle Talent Group, a management company founded by Byrne and Costabile in 2010 to represent actors and musicians.
Then there are the rigors of family life. Byrne, who grew up in Waldwick, is married to Mike McMahon, a private investigator. They have three kids: Michael, 15; Max, 11; and Ann Marie, 7.
Still, focus isn’t a problem for the actress. She’s been acting since age 10, when she played an orphan in Annie on Broadway. She says show business has been
“more like a hobby...than a career. You just put your attention wherever it needs to be on any given day.”For 20 years, Byrne’s attention was on the long-running soap As the World Turns. She played the character Lily from 1985 to 2009 (also playing Lily’s twin sister for four years). Now Crisis, which she filmed in Chicago in September, is absorbing the bulk of her energy.
“I’m most excited about that role because it gives me the opportunity to show a broad spectrum of emotions. The whole premise is, what would you do to save your child?” As a soap opera actress, she says,
“I got used to kidnappings and all these horrible things happening.”Crisis is different.
“They don’t tell you what’s coming story-wise,” she says.
“They keep everything secret. You can’t even take pictures on the set.”John Aniston says he's not retiring!Online rumors are swirling that John Aniston is retiring and leaving the role of DAYS's Victor Kiriakis. Not so, reports the actor, who first joined the NBC soap in 1985.
"Well, I am lost in the building, so I might as well stay," he quips to Digest.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES actor Brendan Coughlin welcomes a son!Congratulations are in order for DAYS's Brendan Coughlin (T) and his girlfriend, Teri Andrez (Robyn, DAYS), who welcomed their first son, Sawyer Creek Coughlin, on February 24. Coughlin broke the news to Digest in the 1/20/14 issue that they were expecting.
"I was worried that I might not be ready for fatherhood," he confided,
"but people have told me, 'You're never really ready.' When I embraced the idea, it became very exciting. I'll be in charge of a new life. It's not just about me anymore."See a shot of the adorable newborn here:

Kirsten Storms returns GENERAL HOSPITAL!Have you been wondering what GENERAL HOSPITAL's Maxie has been doing during her time away from Port Charles? Well, we're about to find out! Portrayer Kirsten Storms has been enjoying her maternity leave bonding with newborn daughter Harper Rose, but now it's time for the actress to get back to work.
Storms recently posted to Twitter:
"Just spoke with [executive producer] Frank Valentini. Very exited to return to work next week. I wonder what Maxie has been up to on her vacation... "If Storms is reporting back to set next week, she should probably begin airing again in April. But as soon as we have a firm air date, we'll be sure to let you know!

Sex, Booze, Insanity: Hot Scoop From The Bold and the Beautiful Boss Bradley Bell! It's March Madness on CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful! Katie (Heather Tom) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) hit the sack. Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) hits the bottle. Dead Darla (Schae Harrison) returns as a ghost. And who knows what's going on with that crazy Aly (Ashlyn Pearce)? TV Guide Magazine went to exec producer-head writer Bradley Bell for all the dish.
TV Guide Magazine: Ridge and Katie sealing the deal with sex (March 18) must be devastating for Brooke, no? Bradley Bell: Brooke is completely stunned. Her head is spinning. She never loses! It's such a foreign concept to her that she could be No. 2 — and losing Ridge to her sister, Katie, of all people! When B&B started, who would have thought that little Katie with the pimples would steal away the one and only Ridge Forrester? [Laughs] It was the ultimate long shot! Brooke feels very betrayed by Katie.TV Guide Magazine: And Ridge just comes out smelling like a rose? Bell: Ridge is all about what's right for Ridge and he is not going to be denied. He's made his decision and everyone else better get out of the way! Brooke and Katie have been trying to keep their sisterly bond but this really puts the relationship to the test. Brooke doesn't know quite how to handle it, so she ends up turning to liquor. Our Brooke will hit the skids.TV Guide Magazine: Bill [Don Diamont] has also been drinking heavily. Are you doing a Days of Wine and Roses-type story? Bell: No, but Bill and Brooke will realize they're much more alike than they thought. We'll be taking them into some interesting new territory.TV Guide Magazine: Were you at all reluctant to have your golden girl Katie play the I-have-a-bad-heart card and fake a collapse at the Ridge-Brooke wedding? That was pretty low. Bell: I was a bit concerned about that but I was more interested in creating an opportunity for Brooke's character finally to shine again, and that meant having Katie do something that was very questionable. [Laughs] Plus, I needed a good Friday tag! TV Guide Magazine: What can you spill about the Ridge-Katie sex scene?Bell: We cleared the set, that's for sure! We really spent a lot of time on the look of it. I'm trying to work more creatively with lighting and silhouettes. It's artistic and very beautiful lovemaking.
TV Guide Magazine: Are Ridge and Katie a couple for the ages or is this going to last three weeks?
Bell: We're good for a while, but there will be an incredible challenge for them coming up in the summer. TV Guide Magazine: Ridge hooking up with Katie must be great news for Bill! Bell: He loves this! In fact, he thinks he's upgraded. He's over and done with Katie and her depression and her issues. She's always thinking. She's always telling him to stop drinking. Whereas Brooke is just happy and sexy and there ya go. They are two very different Logan women. [Laughs] Bill thinks he came out way ahead in this deal! TV Guide Magazine: Let's move on to your other big story — young Aly Forrester. Last time we talked, you swore that she wasn't going psycho! Bell: And I still say she isn't! She's not exactly crazy. She's... complicated. Years ago, Aly's mother, Darla, was senselessly mowed down and killed by Taylor [Hunter Tylo], who has now come back into the picture. Taylor is a name Aly does not speak. When she sees her, there will be fireworks! She considers Taylor to be a big hypocrite — a therapist who tells people how to live their lives yet it was her drinking and irresponsibility that led to the death of Darla. And she never really paid for the crime. Aly finds the whole thing completely disgusting.TV Guide Magazine: Darla returns in spirit form (March 18). What's up with that? Bell: Aly has been through a lot of therapy to help her cope with the tragedy. She's still feeling great anger and loss and these conversations with her mother have been going on for quite some time. They have allowed her to stay in a very comfortable, childlike place.TV Guide Magazine: Aly's sudden hatred for Wyatt [Darin Brooks] doesn't quite track. When we first met her, it seemed like she wanted Hope [Kim Matula] and Wyatt together because she had a crush on Liam [Scott Clifton]. Did you change course?Bell: Oh, she still has a crush on Liam. This could be one of those slow-burn kind of things. [Laughs] I am capable of doing something on the slow burn, you know! Liam is funny, he's gentle, he's safe — everything Aly likes in a man. But there is also another man coming in her direction, someone who is already on the show. TV Guide Magazine: During the Darla scenes, we will find out that Aly's bedroom is a floor-to-ceiling shrine to Hope. That's pretty nuts, wouldn't you say? Bell: Aly was so taken with the message behind the Hope for the Future fashion line — being a good citizen, being environmentally aware and, especially, waiting for marriage to have sex. At first, Hope really believed in all this. Now she's out there having sex and juggling men. Aly is very unhappy with that. She liked the good, decent Hope and she's going to try to steer her back to more conservative values. In her mind, Hope has turned into Miley Cyrus!TV Guide Magazine: That sounds annoying, especially for Hope Bell: Well, it is annoying but this is part of Aly's evolution. Sure, she shouldn't be losing her temper on the job — she's supposed to be shadowing at Forrester and someone forgot to tell her that shadows don't speak. But I wanted her to be young and naïve and flawed and a little nerdy, someone who makes horrendous teenage mistakes, so that we have somewhere to go with this character. Over the next few months, we'll watch this child become a woman — and a real Forrester to be reckoned with!Melody Thomas Scott Talks 35 Years on The Young and the Restless!Break out the bubbly! Nikki Newman, the hard-luck heroine played by Melody Thomas Scott on The Young and the Restless, has killed three people, married 11 times, battled pills and booze, worked as both a stripper and a hooker and even spread VD. Yet somehow she has managed to remain a pillar of Genoa City society. How does she do it? To find out, TV Guide Magazine sat down with Thomas Scott, who joined the CSB soap exactly 35 years ago Thursday. She shared with us her favorite, wildest, most trashtastic Nikki moments and we have clips to go with them that you won't believe! Check 'em out below.
TV Guide Magazine: Why is Nikki still so damn fascinating after all these years?Thomas Scott: Because she's driven purely by her emotions. One writing regime wanted to make her a senator, which was ludicrous. The viewers don't want to see Nikki be a feminist or take a job. They want to see her stay home and have personal problems and suffer like crazy. [Laughs] And they looove to see her drunk!TV Guide Magazine: Nikki's on marriage No. 4 to Victor [Eric Braeden]. Why does she continue to put up with his toxic BS?Thomas Scott: It's an unexplainable, chemical thing and it's her greatest downfall. She loves him more than she wants to love him and, on especially bad days, she really hates that she loves him. Listen, the women out there would love to love a man that much — only without the lying and the secrets and the abuse. It's complicated. Eric and I really look forward to the Nikki-Victor arguments, much more than their lovey-dovey scenes. Those are fine and dandy but nowhere near as interesting. But the fans always want the make-up scenes, no matter how ugly and vicious the battles may get. They hope for that magical moment where Nikki and Victor just let their troubles go and have a hot night of sex.TV Guide Magazine: Let's face it, Nikki and The Mustache are a mess. But a fantastic mess.Thomas Scott: Their whole life together is just one long sequence of disasters. [Laughs] Oh, God, I will never forget that Bill Bell storyline where Nikki was dating this guy Rick Daros, who was extremely jealous of Victor. We were on location out at some beach somewhere for a scuba-diving remote and the script called for Rick to shoot Victor through the d--k with a spear gun. So there's Victor collapsed on the ground and Nikki is down on her knees in the sand going, "Victor, Victor, come back to me!" And there's an arrow in Victor's d--k sticking straight up in the air. [Laughs] I don't know what Bill was thinking!TV Guide Magazine: What tragedy hasn't befallen Nikki that you'd someday like to play?Thomas Scott: Oooh, I'd love to have her to go nuts. Stark-raving, rubber-room bonkers! I want Nikki to be in a psychiatric ward drooling. Wouldn't that be fun? I'd also love to do an aging story. Nikki is so into the vanity thing. Me, I don't give a s--t. I went on The Talk when the theme of the day was no makeup. But Nikki would freak at the very idea! As the years have passed, she has become an aging vixen — two words that don't even belong in the same sentence — so I'd love to do a story where she starts to get very concerned about her looks, where she's checking herself out in the mirror and really hates what she sees. Maybe she has plastic surgery? That would be so her.TV Guide Magazine: What do you really think of Nikki? The truth!Thomas Scott: Oh, I absolutely adore her but I wouldn't want to be her. She has no girlfriends! It's so important for Nikki to be rich and glamorous. She's like one of those Real Housewives of Wherever, those bitches who need to be the most beautiful and have the most money. I wouldn't even have lunch with her. But you know what? Nikki wouldn't want to have lunch with me, either. [Laughs] I would utterly bore her! Here are Thomas Scott's picks for the Six Most Outrageous Nikki Moments:1979: Nikki becomes a model, not realizing she's really working for a call-girl ring. Her first john dies of heart attack.
"Things got worse when Nikki's husband, Greg, found out what she'd been up to and divorced her immediately," says Thomas Scott.
1981: Nikki is introduced to Edward's mother — who is in an urn!
"Like Norman Bates in Psycho, Edward had his mommy issues," the actress recalls.
"He wanted to marry Nikki or kill them both in a murder-suicide." But there was a happy ending:
"Edward strapped a bomb to himself and exploded."1987: Determined to break up Victor and Ashley, Nikki fakes a fatal illness.
"She even had a fantasy about being dead," she says.
"I loved getting inside that coffin with the lid shut! Hey, how many people can say they've done it and come out alive?"1990: Nikki gets liquored up and takes off her evening gown before the posh crowd at the Colonnade Room.
"Once a stripper always a stripper," says Thomas Scott, whose character used to take it off for pay back in the '70s at the seedy Bayou club.
1998: After wedding Dr. Joshua Landers and getting shot by his presumed-dead wife, who was disguised as a maid, Nikki
"dies" and goes to the light.
"There are two morals to this story," she notes.
"Never hire a maid without references and never marry your gynecologist!"2004: Nikki and her frenemy daughter-in-law, Sharon, search the sewers of Genoa City for a dead body.
"It was a horrific day at work," Thomas Scott remembers.
"We had 20 live fucking rats on the set! I hated it but it was a huge hit with the fans. It was very Lucy and Ethel!"General Hospital Fans Connected to Brutal Murder!A New York parolee accused of fatally strangling a retired teacher in Hollywood may have come west after developing a network of pen pals, some that apparently grew from a shared fondness for the long-running soap opera General Hospital.
Three months after he was released from prison after serving 20 years for murder, Scott Kratlian showed up in Hollywood and allegedly strangled one of his pen pals, 82-year-old Harry Major.
The relationship between the convicted killer and the retired Hollywood High School teacher was probably one of many the inmate fostered over the years while imprisoned at Marcy Correctional Facility outside Syracuse, said another of Kratlian's pen pals.
Kratlian was part of a General Hospital fan club whose enthusiasts wrote to one another, Jason Ward said in an interview.
"I don't know why I started writing him; it was a really dumb decision," said Ward, who connected with Kratlian through a mutual friend who received a General Hospital newsletter that went out to fans.
"I only wrote to him a handful of times because he got really weird," Ward said.
Authorities said Kratlian was released from prison two days before Thanksgiving, less than a year after a state parole board determined that his crime had been so horrific that releasing him would be to
"undermine respect for the law."In 1992 Kratlian used a belt to kill a man, tying the victim's hands and feet together and beating and burning him, parole board records show.
In prison, Kratlian had a
"horrendous" disciplinary record, and his conditional early release was delayed more than four years because of infractions, according to the records. He was eventually released under the state's conditional release program — a separate avenue that doesn't require parole board approval.
A free man after two decades behind bars, Kratlian was in Los Angeles by Feb. 1, authorities say.
After months and possibly years of exchanging letters, detectives say, Kratlian went to Major's Hollywood apartment Feb. 10 and strangled him.
When Major failed to show up for a brunch the next morning, concerned friends called police, who discovered his body Feb. 12.
"He was a man of kindness and brilliance. To see one's kindness repaid by one's life is beyond unfair," said Norman Goldstein, one of Major's former students who was part of the class of 1972.
"I received a yearly call on my birthday and missed this year," said Goldstein, whose birthday was Feb. 12.
"It's a tragic case," agreed homicide Det. Steven Katz.
Kratlian may have been looking for other former pen pals as well when he arrived in Los Angeles, said Ward. Ward was living in Los Angeles in 2010, he said, working as a caretaker for a woman who told him about her pen pal. It was Kratlian, who also went by the name Scott Porter, Ward said.
The two also had connected through a General Hospital newsletter and had been corresponding for years, Ward said. Kratlian had even told the woman about his relationship with Major, Ward said. Though Ward eventually moved to Connecticut, he kept in contact with his former client and for a time with Kratlian.
"I was assuming he was writing to a whole network of people," Ward said.
"I didn't think he was ever going to get out."But Ward said that he one day got a letter from Kratlian asking for money and that his former client did too and she sent him cash. In early February, Ward said, Kratlian showed up on the woman's doorstep with a book of addresses of his other pen pals and said he was looking for places to stay.
Ward said the encounter frightened the woman and she asked him to leave. The next day she heard about Major's violent death on the news and called police. Major's friendship with Kratlian was known among his friends, who told police about the ex-convict after Major's body was found. Police said that the two had been seen together shortly before Major's death and that Kratlian apparently used Major's credit cards after the slaying.
New York officially listed Kratlian as a fugitive Feb. 14 after police identified him as their suspect. He was arrested by an LAPD and FBI fugitive task force at a Pasadena mental health and substance abuse treatment center Feb. 18, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department records show.
He has pleaded not guilty to murder and is being held without bail. If convicted, he faces up to 56 years to life in prison.

The Week In The Year 2013!Rick hired Carter to look into Forrester Creations' patents. Rick helped Maya move into her new apartment and took a kiss from her cheek as payment. Hope called a meeting with Liam to get him to promise to marry Steffy before the baby arrived. Liam proposed to Steffy, and she accepted. Bill advised Brooke to revamp Brooke's Bedroom with herself as the lead model. At Bill's prompting, Brooke showed off her lingerie, and Bill assured her that she still had what it took. Bill tried to reason with Katie about spending quality time with her husband, but Katie didn't want to let Will out of her sight. Eric sent company shippers to Taylor's house to help her pack her things and move into the mansion. Pam overheard Brooke telling Donna that Taylor had moved in with Eric, and Pam charged into Eric's bedroom while he and Taylor were making out.
Will confronted Nick, who admitted that he had forced Will to give up his parental rights because he was gay. Nick justified his actions and told Will that he and Gabi would provide a more stable home for the baby. Nick moved up his plans to marry Gabi. Nick started to open up to Gabi about his time in prison, but she was concerned about what he did not tell her. Sami and E.J. plotted to get Nick out of Will's life. Kristin invited Chad to move into the mansion. Nicole almost confided in Chloe about her feelings for Eric but changed her mind. Victor and Maggie learned of Brady's plans to move into the DiMera mansion with Kristen. Nancy arrived in Salem to help Chloe with Parker as well as to help her get Daniel back. Kayla and Maxine's plan to get Daniel and Jennifer back together didn't work out as planned. Anne called Chloe and reported that Daniel and Jennifer had left Maxine's party and planned to meet in Horton Square. Nancy, to clear the way for Chloe, found a way to ruin Daniel and Jennifer's evening. Later, Chloe took full advantage of Daniel, who was quite drunk. Kate asked Rafe about the status of their relationship. Chad reached out to Abigail, who was upset about her fight with Chloe. John surprised Brady with a visit to the DiMera mansion. John gave Brady a special gift to remind him of his mother, much to Kristen's displeasure. Stefano was happy to be home.
