Last year, it was revealed that formerSmallville actress Allison Mack was the second-in-command of a New York state sex cult that was under investigation for extorting, beating and branding its members.
The group's leader, Keith Raniere, was arrested hiding out in Mexico this week and charged by federal prosecutors with running a sex-slave cult called NXIVM (pronounced 'nexium'). Mack was living with Raniere in Mexico and sources say her own arrest for sex trafficking is 'imminent'.
Smallville actress Kristin Kreuk joined Raniere's group around 2005 after attending one of his seminars, and brought in her co-star Mack. Kreuk severed ties with the group in 2012 after it was reported that Raniere was having sex with underage girls, but Mack stayed on and helped come up with the idea of burning a “brand” that combined Raniere's initials and her own into new member's skin, near their groins, with a cauterizing pen as they were held down:

According to Frank Parlato, who once worked as NXIVM's publicist, “Allison was used, as was Kristin, as a lure to bring in other women because of their celebrity status".
