CBS interviews Scar

Actor Jeremy Irons plays an old man in his new film, but the Oscar-winning actor showed no signs of slowing down as he spoke to Charlie Rose and Gayle King.

"It's so nice to need to be aged still," Irons joked. "Days will come when I won't have to be aged any longer."

The British-born Irons, known for his haunting voice and uncompromising work ethic, was aged 25 years for "The Words," in which he plays a man who confronts a young author -- played by Bradley Cooper -- about a stolen manuscript.

"It's good to look into the future," he said. "I think to myself, I hope I live that long to look like that."

He said he was intrigued by the film's script, his character's enigmatic qualities, and the chance to work with actor Bradley Cooper, whom Irons called "a wonderful actor."

"The Works" is hardly the only project on Iron's plate. He also discussed his new documentary, "Trashed."

"It's about waste," he said. "About how we produce too much rubbish, too much trash."

Irons narrated and executive produced the film, which received a special screening at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

"I wanted to make a documentary about something which is massive and could be changed," he said. "It's so dangerous - the effect on our health. I felt, 'let's draw people's attention to this."

The theme of excess recurs in yet another project Irons is involved with, Showtime's "The Borgias," which is now entering its third season.

Irons plays Rodrigo Borgia, the shrewd and scheming clergyman who became pope, and who also enjoys the carnal pleasures of life.

"He is a complex character," Irons said. "Any pope with 12 children would be."

With her latest Twitter blunder regarding her affection for First Lady Michelle Obama in the rear-view, Mary J. Blige shifted gears to rock the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., Thursday evening.

“I’m so thankfull that the message has been that we’re all in this together ’cause it’s real and that makes us all one, one, as my friend Bono has said,” Blige announced before creating a unified mood by launching into “One” by Bono’s band U2.

She then instructed POTUS stans to “get it crunk for President Obama” with her 2001 hit “Family Affair.” Get into some of the dance moves the Democrats unleashed below!

Liza Minnelli Gets Arrested!

Guess who just got Arrested? The wonderfully kooky Liza Minnelli has landed in L.A. to shoot scenes for Netflix's limited revival of the equally kooky 2003-06 Fox sitcom, Arrested Development.

Minnelli will reprise her role as Lucille Austero, a character who made several appearances as the older girlfriend of socially awkward Bluth son Buster (Tony Hale). The wobbly character, who suffered from debilitating vertigo, shared the same name as Bluth matriarch, Lucille (Jessica Walter). The two Lucilles were often at odds.

Since Arrested ended, Minnelli has made limited TV appearances with roles on Drop Dead Diva and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Last season she was booked to appear on an episode of Hot in Cleveland, but was sidelined by an ankle injury.

Netflix is scheduled to release its new batch of Arrested episodes (anywhere from 10 -13) in 2013, and a feature film version is also in development. The entire original cast is participating.

Jon Hamm Flaunts His Penis and Balls

$

His Mad Men character Don Draper is a cheating ladies' man of the first order.

But actor Jon Hamm looked as far removed from his alter ego as could be imagined as he strolled hand-in-hand with his partner Jennifer Westfeldt in New York today.

The couple have been dating since 1997, but they looked like young lovers as the romantic actor whispered sweet nothings in her ear while they padded down the street.

And it seems the pair were seduced by the real life Mad Men, as they looked to have spent a pretty penny on shopping during their outing.

They were spotted after indulging in some retail therapy at posh department store Barney's, where they were seen shopping for women's clothing.

Gentleman Jon, who surely footed the bill, was dressed in a causal shirt, grey trousers, brown shoes and a baseball cap.

Interestingly, he had decided to go without socks for their excursion in the Big Apple.

Screenwriter and actress Jennifer, who persuaded Jon to appear in her flop directorial début Friends With Kids, looked in fine figure in her modest purple dress.

It seemed like the pair were enjoying a much more relaxed day than when they were robbed in London in June.

The couple were dining at a restaurant when the actress's handbag was stolen, and the thief then used the hotel key inside to rob their hotel room.

Jennifer said: 'What a mess. [I'm not feeling] great. It is under investigation.'

Miley Cyrus likes to live life on the wild side and these newly surfaced photos of her engaging in a hookah party with her friends are no different! Smoking hookah may be totally legal, but it still draws the party animal out of Miley, as seen in the photos. This party, which clearly occurred before she chopped off her hair, seemed to be like a super wild time! The 19-year-old has been caught on camera smoking another wild substance before, back in 2010 when she was filmed smoking salvia out of a bong. She’s just being Miley!

smh at the massive watermark on the last one, but it was just too qt so i had to put it in. they look like they are having an awesome time! haha

Where Are They Now: Big Wolf on Campus Edition

$
0
0

Once upon a time, there was this little Canadian show called Big Wolf on Campus that at least half of ONTD seems to have watched. Since it's been 10 years since it was cancelled [insert Craigy Ferg style I KNOW right here], I figured it was as good a time as any to take a look into what the stars are doing now. Plus, you know, people asked.

Brandon Quinn (Tommy Dawkins)
Since BWOC, Brandon has popped up on just about every show on TV. Okay, not realy, but he's been in quite a few: Charmed, What I Like About You, Drake & Josh, The OC, Entourage, The Vampire Diaries... He also had a starring role in Lifetime's show Against the Wall which aired for 1 season late last year. He's also had starring roles in some direct-to-dvd movies. He did the voice of 'Owen Daniher' in LA Noire (video game) and is supposed to be doing voice work in another video game. Brandon was also in those "Around the World in 5 Weeks" or whatever commercials that Gillette did (they're all on youtube if you want to see them), and is in some Duracell commercial that has been airing somewhere recently.

Brandon met his wife, Rachel, while he was living in Montreal (where BWOC was filmed). They married at some point in the last 10 years; IMDB had said it was 2002 but now that's deleted so who knows if that's true or not. They have two kids, Chloe and Ezra.
Brandon's twitter

Danny Smith (Merton J. Dingle)
Danny was the lead singer for the band The City Drive from 2003-2009. It looks like he spent most of his time then focusing on his music, but has had some parts in made for tv movies - Discovery Channel's Deadliest Sea and Disney Channel's Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars. He also had a part in the Canadian vampire comedy Suck. Nowadays, Danny is doing voices on a new Telenoon (Canadian channel) show "Fugget About It" which premiered on Friday (Sept. 7th). It's about "a New York teen adjusts to life in Canada under the witness protection program."

No idea if he's married or anything (sorry x_brittacular!) but according to his Instagram he's living in Toronto and he describes himself as an actor/musician/visual artist. He was also as appalled as we were over the engagement of Chavril.

Aimée Castle (Lori Baxter)
Ignore IMDB and their useless information. Aimée has worked since BWOC ended. She mostly does voiceover work now in TV and commercials, and has done some audio book narration. Most recently, Aimée did voice work for Ice Age: Continental Drift and the latest Hitman video game. Based on stuff she's posted on Twitter it also looks like she works for etalk (Canadian entertainment news show), but I can't find anything that confirms this.

Aimée got married a couple of months ago, so congrats to her! Seriously, the second search suggestion for her on google is "aimee castle wedding." That's a little weird, but whatever. She's also a big Habs fan.

Rachelle Lefevre (Stacey Hanson)
Rachelle has had some success after she left BWOC. She was in this little movie called Twilight and it's sequel New Moon as Victoria, the main villain. You've probably never heard of them; most people haven't and they weren't very successful or anything. Rachelle has also had starring roles in Off the Map and A Gifted Man. Next year she'll be in the Channing Tatum movie White House Down.
Rachelle's twitter

Domenic Di Rosa & Rob deLeeuw (Tim & Travis Eckert aka TnT)
Domenic (Tim) hasn't really done anything afterwards aside from a small part in a Canadian mini-series and a small part in a Canadian movie.

Rob (Travis) has had parts in some TV shows, including Supernatural (he was in Mystery Spot, IMDB doesn't say who he was though) and Rookie Blue. He's also had parts in a bunch of Canadian movies. He is the one with the current picture, fyi.

Jack Mosshammer (Dean Dawkins)
After BWOC, Jack had a part on the Canadian TV series Train 48. He also taught at The Second City's LA Training Center. It looks like he is now living in Toronto and teaching at/performing with a few theater companies.

Random facts:
  • After Big Wolf ended, Brandon and Danny starred in a movie together called The Bail (or Fizzy Bizness) but it was either only released in New Zealand or nowhere at all. The internet is very confused about this.
  • At the end of the episode "Switch Me Baby One More Time" [3x18], Tommy says he will be talking to 'Terry Swierenga.' Swierenga is Brandon Quinn's real last name.
  • Danny Smith wrote and performed the show's theme song

  • Rachelle Lefevre left BWOC to go to college, which was the explanation for her character's depature from Pleasantville
  • Brandon Quinn was allergic to the original werewolf makeup which is why it looks so different after the pilot episode and 2 other random episodes in season 1

  • So allegedly Drew Barrymore bought a gay club

Drew Barrymore has reportedly bought a club which boasts male go-go dancers.

The Hollywood actress is said to be the proud new owner of Revolver in West Hollywood. The establishment is a favourite with the area's gay clientele, which is said to be why Drew splashed out.

"It's one of the hottest clubs in West Hollywood, which features scantily clad male go-go dancers," reports National Enquirer.

"Drew just loves the gay scene," a source added.

The star is apparently not content with owning just one club. She and a group of her close friend are said to be considering buying another drinking establishment which is located opposite Revolver.

Drew is a known gay rights activist and has attended several rallies promoting same sex marriage.

She has cited her beliefs as one of the reasons she backs US President Barack Obama.

"When I heard him speak about a gay person never having to sit outside the hospital room with their loved one sick inside, I burst into tears because so many people I care about are homosexual and it was profound to have someone be sensitive to that," she said.

David Thewlis Set For Red 2

The already hefty ensemble for action comedy sequel Red 2 is growing by one. Director Dean Parisot has zeroed in on Harry Potter veteran David Thewlis to tackle a small role.

Thewlis is signed on to play The Frog, an information dealer and lowlife shyster who got his nickname after poisoning the water supply at the Kremlin with the venom of a poisonous Amazonian amphibian.

He’ll be part of the sequel’s plot
, which finds Bruce Willis’ Frank Moses, John Malkovich’s Marin Boggs and Helen Mirren’s Victoria brought out of hiding to deal with an even bigger threat than the one they faced last time, which will see them travelling in Europe as well as the US.

Fellow new arrivals this time include Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung-hun Lee and Neal McDonough.

Parisot is looking to begin shooting later this autumn in Montreal. Jon and Erich Hoeber, who wrote the script for the first film based on Warren Ellis’ and Cully Hamner’s graphic novel, are back on screenplay duty for what we expect will be another round of explosions, car chases and Bruce Willis cracking wise / showing the young ‘uns how it’s done.

Liam Neeson suits up for the premiere of his upcoming movie Taken 2 during the 2012 Deauville American Film Festival on Friday (September 7) in Deauville, France.

The 60-year-old actor was joined by his director Olivier Megaton on the red carpet. Earlier in the day, Liam posed with the American flag at the photocall for the film.

At the Taken 2 press conference, Liam said, “[Action] appeals to the little boy inside of me. There’s a wonderful release that comes with that physicality. The lovely thing about doing Taken 2 is there’s quite a lot of action, but then there were wonderful days that were just acting with [co-stars] Maggie Grace or Famke Janssen. They were almost luxurious because you had no physical stuff to do and could just act.”

Carrie Underwood avoids reading about herself online

Chances are, if you’re Carrie Underwood, you’re not reading this. Underwood is no stranger to the being a centerpiece for media headlines — but she shies away from reading what’s inside the articles, and never, ever searches her name online.

“I definitely do not Google myself ever .. that’s a really bad idea,” Underwood told Taste of Country during a recent press gathering in Nashville. “Usually somebody else will say something to me, or I am just flipping through a magazine and I’m like, ‘What? What is this about? We went to a romantic what? What did we do?’ [laughs] It’s never intentional. It’s always brought to my attention or somebody else will tell me.”

However, one of Underwood’s biggest fans continually breaks the rule about not telling the singer when she’s mentioned in a story. The culprit? Underwood’s mother, who finds it hard not to read stories when the topic is her daughter.

“I’ll be like, ‘Mom, you’ve got to stop telling me stuff’ because some of it does make me mad,” Underwood insists with a smile. “[I tell her she] needs to stop reading it herself [and] don’t ever read comments below anything… ever!”

Unfortunately for the ‘Good Girl’ star, she may have a hard time not coming across stories about herself in the coming months, as she prepares to launch her heavily-anticipated Blown Away Tour soon. (source)

Gwyneth Paltrow: Losing My Dad to Cancer Made Me Get Serious About My Health

Gywneth Paltrow got a wake-up call when she lost her father, director-producer Bruce Paltrow, to cancer a decade ago.

"When my father was diagnosed with cancer, it really changed the way that I lived – it changed my whole lifestyle," Paltrow, who executive produced the multi-network Stand Up to Cancer broadcast Friday night, tells PEOPLE. "I completely changed my diet, and I got very serious about exercising and about exposure to toxins.
It really changed the way that I thought," says the actress, 39. "I think I had more of a laissez-faire attitude about my health, and when he got cancer it was a real shock. ... It was sort of like the break of my adolescence."

"This is my one life, and I need to invest in myself and my family and make sure that we can do what we can to stay healthy," she added.

Remembering her father – who produced television series like St. Elsewhere and directed his daughter in the 2000 film Duets – by producing the Stand Up to Cancer show turned out to be an emotional experience for both Paltrow and her mother, actress Blythe Danner.

"It's emotional for me because I keep getting emails from my mother saying how proud she is of me that I'm doing it, and she keeps talking about my father,” Paltrow, whose husband Chris Martin and his band Coldplay also participated in the event, told reporters.

"It's emotional to be in front of the cameras and encouraging people to join the fight against cancer," she said. "Especially when you're doing it in memory of someone that you loved so much."

Rihanna was spotted leaving a tattoo parlor in London last night. Dressed in a sweatshirt cut at waist length, Rihanna greeted some waiting fans.

RIHANNA gives fans a glimpse of her toned tummy — and her latest tattoo.

The 24-year-old singer was spotted in Soho last night wearing a crop top which revealed she'd had some new body art.

Leaving a tattoo parlour and carrying a pizza box at around 2.30am, the Rude Boy star's ribs were covered in clingfilm and tape to protect her new etching.

Heading back to her London hotel, the superstar signed autographs for fans but didn't let on what was under the masking.

It's thought to be her 18th inking amongst artwork on her thigh, collarbone, neck, ankle, ear and on her left middle finger.

Only days ago at the VMAs, her and her formerly abusive ex boyfriend Chris Brown were seen to be getting friendly again as they hugged and kissed each other on the lips.

She's set to duet with Chris Martin at tonight's Paralympics closing ceremony, but chose to party over practice after her win at the awards on Thursday.
