A big week for award season. In addition to BAFTA and Producers Guild nominations yesterday, guilds for Cinematographers, Sound Mixers, Visual Effect artists revealed their own award nominations. Only included the major award of the group, as they are too many for each to put in one post.

In a new interview for Harper's Baazar February 2017 edition Madonna talks about the pain she felt waking up after Donald Trump was elected and calls out popular artists who do not express their political views because they're scared to lose their popularity.

Harper's Baazar: It’s been almost two weeks since the election. How did you feel in the wake of Donald Trump being elected president of the United States? Were you surprised?

Madonna: On election night I was sitting at a table with my agent, who is also one of my very best friends, and we were truly praying. We were praying. She was on her computer. She’s friends with someone who was working on Hillary [Clinton]‘s campaign and was getting blow-by-blow reports, and at one point she was like, “It’s not looking good.” It was just like watching a horror show. And then she was reading from the Quran, and I was reading from the Zohar. We were doing everything: lighting candles, meditating, praying, offering our lives to God forever, if only. I went to sleep, and since that night, I wake up every morning and it’s like when you break up with somebody who has really broken your heart. You wake up and for a second you’re just you, and then you go, “Oh, the person I love more than anything has just broken my heart, and I’m devastated and I’m broken and I have nothing. I’m lost.” That’s how I feel every morning. I wake up and I go, “Wait a second. Donald Trump is the president. It’s not a bad dream. It really happened.” It’s like being dumped by a lover and also being stuck in a nightmare.

Harper's Baazar: What do we do now?

Madonna: I feel like I’m already doing it to a certain degree anyway and have been doing it. But I have to get way more vocal and become a little bit less mysterious. What I find really astonishing is how quiet everybody is in my industry. I mean, nobody in the entertainment business except for maybe a handful of people ever speak out about what’s going on. Nobody takes a political stance or expresses an opinion.

Harper Baazar: Why do you think that is?

Madonna: They want to maintain a neutral position so they can maintain their popularity. I mean, if you have an opinion and people disagree with you, you might not get a job. You might be blacklisted. You might have fewer followers on Instagram. There are any number of things that would be detrimental to your career. Everyone’s really afraid. Because it doesn’t affect their daily life yet, no one’s doing anything about it.

Taraji P. Henson has closed a deal to star in Screen Gems’ thriller “Proud Mary.”

John Stewart Newman and Christian Swegal wrote the script, and Paul Schiff and Tai Duncan are producing the film.

Henson will play a hit woman whose life is upturned when she meets a young boy who awakens the maternal instinct she never knew she had.

A director has yet to be attached

The plan is to shoot the next two Avengers movies back-to-back. It is rumoured that Dinklage is expected to appear in both of these, however there has been no word from Marvel yet or on who Dinklage could be playing.

Filming for the first movie is expected to start at the end of Feburary in Scotland.

- Designer Leah McSweeney (I know: "who?"), founder/CEO of the “Married to the MOB” female streetwear line, tried to expose SNL's Michael Che for being arrogant and woman-hating on her podcast.

- They met through a dating app and exchanged text messages between Sept 2016 and Jan 2017.

- On her podcast, she said he was rude, disrespectful, hates woman, and texted her like she's "a stupid bitch." She also says she dgaf about exposing him because he's D-list to her anyway.

- In reality, their text exchanges were mostly brief and she was obviously more invested, and seemed to get real mad when Che curved her and said he does not want to meet up because she's a weirdo.

Utada Hikaru's latest release, a 4-track remix EP of the Kingdom Hearts theme song "Simple and Clean," has reached #2 on the iTunes US Albums chart.
