Yesterday the internet dragged Lena for saying this about Odell Beckham Jr. Then she posted this today:


Here's the caption:

I owe Odell Beckham Jr an apology. Despite my moments of bravado, I struggle at industry events (and in life) with the sense that I don't rep a certain standard of beauty and so when I show up to the Met Ball surrounded by models and swan-like actresses it's hard not to feel like a sack of flaming garbage. This felt especially intense with a handsome athlete as my dinner companion and a bunch of women I was sure he'd rather be seated with. But I went ahead and projected these insecurities and made totally narcissistic assumptions about what he was thinking, then presented those assumptions as facts. I feel terrible about it. Because after listening to lots of valid criticism, I see how unfair it is to ascribe misogynistic thoughts to someone I don't know AT ALL. Like, we have never met, I have no idea the kind of day he's having or what his truth is. But most importantly, I would never intentionally contribute to a long and often violent history of the over-sexualization of black male bodies- as well as false accusations by white women towards black men. I'm so sorry, particularly to OBJ, who has every right to be on his cell phone. The fact is I don't know about his state of mind (I don't know a lot of things) and I shouldn't have acted like I did. Yo - it's me again. I posted a photo previously that encapsulated a silly moment in my weird life. I forgot that through social media and random interviews you do not know all the facets of me and what my concerns are. We should be concerned about the well being of all animals. Yes, Dolphins. Along with every other creature. There are problems with animals in captivity. There are problems with animals living in the wild. It has always been a priority of mine to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. I apologize if the photo appeared to endorse animal cruelty. I don't believe any living thing deserves miss treatment. In the comments section feel free to discuss your thoughts, concerns, articles ANYTHING that can turn this into a moment of education for myself all who are interested. We gotta remember that we will make mistakes but we can learn from them, together. Much love.

-According to the source Britney feels like MTV misled her and she won't ever do the VMAs again.
-Britney is upset that MTV never mention Beyonce would perform or have such a strong performance, or that Britney would perform after Beyonce.
-MTV also gave Beyonce 15 minutes and Britney only 4 minutes.
-Britney and her team thought she would be the headliner but after the show everyone was talking about Beyonce, not Britney.
-“Everyone in Britney’s camp was really quite blindsided by Beyonce’s performance. Hardly anyone knew that Beyonce was going to be the main event. Britney is saying she will never do the VMAs again.”

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a very solid track record when it comes to Apple product rumors, has released his most detailed research report yet ahead of Wednesday's iPhone 7 launch.




-No major design change, they're saving that for the 10th anniversary iPhone

- Earpiece receiver to become a speaker with the addition of a new audio amplifier. The change would provide enough separation to allow for stereo sound.

- Pressure-sensitive click-less home button
-Storage capacities of 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB

- Five color options including silver, gold, and rose gold, along with a "dark black" replacing the usual Space Gray and a glossy "piano black".

- Improved IPX7 water resistance (1M deep)

-Dual-lens rear camera on the iPhone 7 Plus. Both lenses will be 12-megapixel, but one will be a wide-angle camera with larger pixel sizes, a 6P lens, and optical image stabilization, while the second will be a telephoto lens with smaller pixel sizes and a 5P lens.

-3GM of RAM for the + Only

-No Headphone jack, they will include earbuds with lightning connector and an adapter. Audio through the lightning port is said to have a much superior sound.

Certain Women, the latest film from acclaimed director Kelly Reichardt, depicts "the lives of three women [as they] intersect in small-town America, where each is imperfectly blazing a trail." The film, based on Maile Meloy's collection of short stories "Both Ways Is the Only Way I Want It," stars Kristen Stewart, Michelle Williams, and Laura Dern. Certain Women premiered at Sundance earlier this year and is scheduled to be screened at TIFF and NYFF. The film is set to be released on October 14, 2016 by IFC Films.

The Assassin star Shu Qi and Hong Kong director Stephen Fung announced they recently tied the knot in Prague. They said in a press statement: "We've known each other for 20 years and been in love for four years. I've married her unreservedly. Yes, we've decided to be entangled with each other for life." and concluded with "PS we're currently not pregnant".

Shu Qi released her wedding photos with the caption "Um, yes, our wedding is that simple. Um, yes, our attire was very casual. Um, yes, our decision was very sudden. … Oh, yes, we are married.”

- Crisis in Six Scenes is a six episode half-hour comedy set in the 60s and it's basically a story about how people with very different backgrounds and ideas can cross paths, and how someone can come in and make you question everything

- Miley is playing a young hippie and sporting long hair

- Plenty of physical comedy and a heavy amount of improvised dialogue.

- Allen has previously declared he will not make a second season

- Amazon spent nearly two years kissing Allen's ass for this project and reportedly paid him 15 million, while also giving him complete creative freedom to make whatever story he wanted to tell

Director Alejandro González Iñárritu Criticizes Mexico's President for Meeting with Donald Trump

On August 31, Donald Drumpf met with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto (Peña Nieto invited him). Director Alejandro González Iñárritu criticized the President's decision to meet with Drumpf in an op-ed in the Spanish newspaper El Pais.

Summary of Iñárritu's Op-Ed:

  • Iñárritu says that Drumpf's meeting with Peña Nieto validates him as a political candidate and gives him a platform to make speeches like he did in Arizona following his visit to Mexico.

  • argues that Drumpf's campaign puts all 16 million Mexicans at risk.

  • says that Drumpf's "fascist" outbursts and hateful rhetoric have damaged the core values of America.

  • claims that the President has compromised the little dignity Mexico had left after Santa Ana lost half of their territory in the Mexican-American War.

  • says that Peña Nieto no longer represents him.

Chris Claremont, argubably the definitive X-Men writer, attended the "Pride and the X-Men" panel at FlameCon, a LGBTQ Comic/Geek Convention.

Says he didn't always intend for the X-Men to be a stand-in for the LGBT community, but "you know there’s a space between every panel. You can go wherever you want. And who am I to get in the way?”

On Magneto and Xavier's close friendship, “My thinking was god bless ambiguity. Sexual orientation in that instance is irrelevant, they are best friends."

“The Comics Code tried to restrict everything. But with a certain measure of visual subtlety and ambiguity you could actually achieve everything you wanted.”  He talks about the issue of New Mutants where a young mutant named Larry kills himself over the fear of being outed, and says “gay people could look at it and find resonance in terms of who they were and what they were standing for.”

When asked about "the queerest character [he's] ever written," he responded “In X-Men: The End volumes one through three, a certain character is notable for being the 50th President. And for being a historic first, not because she’s a mutant.”

Though it wasn't brought up at the panel, Claremont was also the creator of Mystique and Destiny, a lesbian couple (he couldn't come out and say it at the time due to the restrictions, but in one issue he had a character refer to Destiny as Mystique's "leman," which is an archaic term for "lover") and Rogue's foster parents.
