Ke$ha 'Really Close' To Finishing Album

What should we expect from Ke$ha's next album?

"I think Ke$ha would answer that as 'awesomeness,"
Dr. Luke, who's executive producing the set, reports to Billboard.com. That, he adds, will translate into a better showcase of Ke$ha's voice, as well as a harder rocking approach than the 2010 couplet of her platinum debut album "Animal" and the subsequent gold EP "Cannibal."

"You're going to hear her voice more," Luke (ne Lukasz Gottwald) says. "She asked for less production tricks and stuff like that this time. There are more guitars on the record now, too; on ('Animal'), Ke$ha was the one who told me, 'Under no circumstance will I have any guitars on the record.' That wasn't really my call. So we made those (songs) without guitars. This record we're allowed to use a little guitar."

Luke says the Ke$ha team has worked on about 17 songs so far, some of which she began writing while touring in 2011. Titles include "Crazy Kids," "Supernatural" and "Last Goodbye," while Ke$ha's mother Pebe Sebert returned to co-write some of the material and Iggy Pop contributed to "Dirty Love."

"I got to talk to him a little bit, and what a cool guy, super bright," Luke says.

Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney plays on the album, and other collaborators include Benny Blanco, Circuit MOM, Max Martin, Billboard and Nate Ruess of fun.

"We're getting really close to finishing", Luke says, though no title or release date have been confirmed yet. "You're going to hear an artist that's grown and is evolving, but it's Ke$ha. She's no choir girl yet."

STEVIE WONDER DIVORCES KAI MILLER

Stevie Wonder has just filed for divorce ... TMZ  has learned.

In the divorce docs obtained by TMZ, the music icon cites irreconcilable differences.  According to the papers, Wonder has been separated from wife Kai Millard Morris since October 2009.

Wonder filed the divorce papers using his legal name, Stevland Morris, and signed with two fingerprints.

In the docs, filed by disso-queen Laura Wasser, Wonder asks for joint custody of the couple's two boys, ages 10 and 7.

In the docs, Wonder agrees to pay both spousal and child support.

Although Wonder amassed his fortune long before he tied the knot with Kai back in 2001, some assets will be split ... though the papers indicate the amount has yet to be determined.

KStew banned from Cosmopolis premiere?

Kristen Stewart has been banished from attending Robert Pattinson’s up and coming New York movie premiere, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Security staff have been told to keep K-Stew, 22, away from the red carpet and after party for the Cosmopolis premiere on August 13, in fear she may use it as an excuse to speak with R-Pattz in person.

The film’s movie bosses are also wary of the media storm it would cause and don’t want her appearance distracting the public from the movie.

“Despite the fact Robert and Kristen have been communicating by cell phone, she will not be at the Cosmopolis New York premiere,” a source said.

“Security was briefed and they were told that Kristen is not allowed anywhere near the red carpet or the after party.

“The decision was made because Robert just doesn’t want to see her. There were fears that she could use it as a chance to talk to him in person and that sort of drama is not wanted at the premiere.

“There’s also the fact that if she did attend, it would distract from the film premiere itself and the movie bosses are not interested in that sort of publicity.

“It’s going to be Robert’s first public appearance since the scandal broke – and they really want to make it less of a media circus than it already will be,” the source said.

On Thursday, Robert Pattinson’s rep moved to quash rumors that he had pulled out of all future public appearances.

Cosmopolis is a film that Robert is very proud of and looks forward to supporting,” the rep confirmed to People.

“No confirmed engagements have been canceled. Any reports to the contrary are inaccurate.”

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Robert, 26, is laying low at the Ojai, California ranch of his A-list pal Reese Witherspoon.

Reese reached out to Robert because she could relate to what he was going through and wanted to offer him a place to stay, a source close to the Twilight star told Radar.

“Reese went through a very public cheating scandal herself when Ryan Phillippe went outside their marriage and hooked up with Abbie Cornish, so her first thought when she heard about Kristen and Rob was to reach out to him and make sure he was okay,” the insider exclusively revealed.

“Reese knows what it's like to be on display when your heart is broken, so she felt like opening up her home to Rob was the right thing to do.”

U.S. Olympic volleyball badass Destinee Hooker knows people are amused by her name ... she knows some people laugh ... but she doesn't care ... she believes it's a "blessing."

Hooker -- who's CRUSHING it in London right now (indoor team is undefeated!) -- tells TMZ, "When it comes to my name, I honestly find nothing wrong with it. I love my name."

Still, Destinee admits she's not deaf to the jokes ... "I have been dealing with it since I was a child. People can be childish."

There was almost no Destinee Hooker at all ... the 24-year-old tells us she nearly died at birth, and when she survived, her father was inspired to give her the name "Destinee."

"Since I was a blessing, [my father] spelled it uniquely. So I am thankful to be here and glad my Dad gave me the name."

Destinee adds, "No reporters have asked me about my name. You are the first :) thank you for asking by the way."

Will We See Elijah in Vampire Diaries Season 4? + Julie talks about Delena, Klaroline and more...

Right now, Daniel Gillies (Elijah) is busy on his new NBC show Saving Hope — but that doesn’t mean he’s abandoned Vampire Diaries forever. (Thank goodness, because we would revolt.) In an interview with About.com, Gillies talked about his medical drama and whether Elijah will return to Mystic Falls.

“I'd like to and I'd say there is a strong likelihood that I'm returning,” said Daniel when asked about the likelihood of seeing Elijah in Season 4. Hooray!

Gillies also explained what he admires about vampires. “I like the idea that over several lifetimes, you can master so many things,” he said. “I think the depressing part about being a human or a living creature is that you're going to die and the thing we love about vampires is their perpetual youth.”

Elijah is quite different from Gillies’s Saving Hope character, but they do have a few things in common. “He's a bit of a rolling stone and hasn't stayed in one place for too long, I don't think he has ever found a place he can describe as home both personally and professionally,” Gillies says of Joel Goren.

At least in our opinion, Elijah will always have a home on TVD. Plus, he can’t leave for good until he confesses his feelings for Elena (Nina Dobrev).

tumblr_m85tz1Ok4p1r7go0do1_500

There’ll be a lot of change ahead as Elena starts her bloodsucking journey in The Vampire Diaries‘ upcoming Season 4. But if there’s one thing you can rely on to stay the same, it’s that matters of the heart are always complicated in Mystic Falls.

Below, executive producer Julie Plec gives TVLine a status report on two of the show’s biggest love triangles — Stefan/Elena/Damon and Tyler/Caroline/Klaus — and a possible new oneinvolving Jeremy.

THE STEFAN/ELENA/DAMON OF IT ALL | Elena’s transition into a vampire – and the remembrance of all the memories Damon erased – will have big consequences for her relationships with both Salvatores. “All these things that she’s experienced with Damon and with Stefan will have different context for her as she’s becoming this new person,” previews Plec. “This circumstance, which is pretty horrific, is going to make them all care about each other even more deeply and argue even more intensely and fracture even more greatly and love as deeply as possible.”

Although Damon is back to his Season 1 ways, “it’s certainly not the end of Delena, as anyone might be afraid,” insists Plec. “In fact, in a way, it’s the beginning of the beginning.” But just because Elena now remembers Damon’s confession of love and that she met him first doesn’t mean she’ll be regretting her decision to stick with Stefan. “I wouldn’t want her to be so fickle,” says the EP.  However, the regained knowledge will “imbed itself in her brain a little bit. As she continues to look at herself and her relationship and friendship with Damon, it’s all those new pieces of information that will be important along the way.”

TWO HYBRIDS AND A VAMPIRE | You may have heard that clothes will fly when Tyler and Caroline reunite. But will the hybrid actually be himself during the happy embrace, or will Klaus still be in possession of him? “You’ll just have to wait and see,” Plec replies coyly. “I definitely think that Klaus is going to unwittingly provide a little bit of mistaken identity hijinks in the first episode back.” Meanwhile, a fresh face who has “a history” with Tyler will arrive. “We’ll start to understand that this is a friend of his, who’s been very important to him in the past,” teases Plec. So should Caroline and Tyler fans be worried? “Any time a hot, new girl comes to town, somebody’s got to be worried about something. But Tyler and Caroline have a really solid bond, a really solid relationship. So it takes somebody really special to get in the way of that.”
JEREMY, BONNIE…AND APRIL? | Could Grace Phipps’ Mystic Falls returnee, April, who shares a history with Jeremy and Elena, provide something more than friendship for the younger Gilbert? “We didn’t bring her in to be a love interest for anybody,” says Plec. “But we’re certainly open to seeing where the chemistry flies.” Meanwhile, Jer and his ex Bonnie “are very bonded to each other. In spite of having found a piece of closure in their relationship, they will continue to be drawn to each other emotionally. Whether it’s romantically or not, I can’t really say.”
The Vampire Diaries returns to The CW on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 8/7c.

Messiah Carey Premieres ANOTHER Remix: Triumphant (Get 'Em) (Pulse Club Mix)

Mariah Carey just knows how to keep her fans happy. Following the release of her ‘Triumphant (Get ‘Em) (Throwback Vintage Remix)’ this morning, the living legend issued yet another version of her comeback song, which is perfectly geared toward the clubs.

The original version of Carey’ ‘Triumphant’, which features Rick Ross and Meek Mill, will be released to Urban radio on August 13th. Additionally, the song will impact iTunes in the UK on August 5th and in the US on August 7th. Listen to the Pulse Club Mix below:

Just went it seemed that Carey had topped herself with the Vintage Remix, she did it again with this Pulse Club mix. The best fact of these versions is that they both feature new vocal arrangements and sound completely different.

Hilariously, Carey revealed to us at The Lava Lizard during a special press call that the she was avoiding Dance music but she is clearly far from naive and understands that her music will reach further with such remixes. There is no denying that voice and as long as she keeps singing like that then I will be buying.

ONCE UPON A TIME Casts Its Hook

From Neverland to Once Upon A Time, Colin O’Donoghue is hooked.

The Irish actor will play Captain James Hook in the second season of the ABC fantasy series, TV Line has confirmed.

Described as a handsome, fearsome and confident pirate ship captain, Hook relishes every challenge and never backs down from conflict, whether the reward is power, riches, or women. Equipped with the meticulous style and old-school manners of a proper gentleman, Hook is a vindictive enemy who will not rest until all his enemies have been hooked…and humiliated.

O’Donoghue is slated to make his appearance in Episode 4 of the new season.

It does read rather like the Hook from the Disney tales (as opposed to a major departure) which could mean he is without magic or the ability to use it, though we can’t rule that out 100% from the information currently available.

As I said recently, it’s going to be interesting to see how a character potentially devoid of magic attains magic/power, both in the land that was and Storybrooke. After all, Hook sounds like the type of fellow who would want to try his hand at magic.

Previously, the show’s producers stated that fellow Neverlander Tinkerbell is in their plans for Season 2, so we’ll see whether her path crosses with old Hook at some point.

Smiling Katie Holmes in New York while Tom looks after Suri

Katie Holmes seems to be in a really good place, right now.
Her ex-husband Tom Cruise and their six-year-old daughter Suri may be in the trademarked 'most magical place on Earth' but for Katie, 33, there's clearly nowhere better than Manhattan when she's free of commitments.

The former Dawson's Creek star is currently more footloose and fancy free than she has been in years. Ever since meeting and falling pregnant to Tom Cruise, 50, in fact. And while there's no doubting her devotion to Suri, the actress seemed to be enjoying alone time today as she floated around Chelsea doing errands. Katie, who was wearing a casual denim dress, cream cardigan and her hair loose and bed-rubbed pretty, beamed as she chatted into her phone, which had a floral cover encasing it.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
The Holmes and Yang designer didn't look like someone you'd want style advice from in her raggedy attire, but the sheer luminosity of her smile made her look more beautiful than when she was trussed up in designer clothes on the red carpet with Cruise. Clearly for Katie, a day without the restrictions of being Mrs Tom Cruise or even a doting mommy is quite the novelty, still.

If as some cynics are to believed, Tom is waging a PR war with his very public fun making, perhaps Katie is hitting back with these gleeful poses.

Jonathan Jackson open to a General Hospital Return!

Jonathan Jackson may be moving on from soaps with a role in, ABC’s Nashville, but that doesn’t mean he’s closing the door on General Hospital for good.

Here, the five-time Daytime Emmy-winning actor previews for TVLine his role on the country music-tinged drama and discusses why he’ll never say never when it comes to the sudser that is “a huge part of my heart.”

TVLINE | Talk a little about the transition from daytime TV to a full-time primetime series.
They are very different. It’s not a strange transition in an awkward way; it’s just interesting. I’ve been doing films since I was pretty young, so I know the pace. But I’d been doing the soap-opera pace for the last couple years, and to get a script now with the amount of dialogue compared to what I was doing is just incredible.

TVLINE | It would be an understatement to say that you’re missed on General Hospital.
I haven’t been able to really watch it, but I’ve been hearing positive things, which is cool. I was also excited to hear that [former General Hospital executive producer] Jill [Farren Phelps] went to Y&R. I was excited for her.

TVLINE | What are your thoughts on the show celebrating its 50th anniversary next season?
It’s been a trying time for daytime. So much on television today is focused on CGI and action, but at the heart of it, people want to watch relationships and human drama and choices. Anyway, I’m really happy for everybody that General Hospital is continuing. There are so many people there that I love, not just the cast but the crew, and I’m really grateful they get to keep going. Everybody works so hard.

TVLINE | Do you ever see yourself heading back to daytime? Or is that door closed?
You know, years ago when I was younger I probably would have made some decisions like that. Nowadays I’ve learned to not plan or strategize as much. Life happens, and you just never know. So for me, everything’s sort of open. I would be open to doing more on General Hospital. I love the people there and I love working with Anthony Geary and Rebecca Herbst and Steve [Burton] and Maurice [Benard] and everybody. GH has a huge part of my heart. Over the years when people leave daytime and they go to primetime or film or whatever, there’s always this sense of [not returning]… I don’t feel that way about it. General Hospital has an incredible group of actors, just amazing. I’ve learned so much working there, so I feel like I’ll always be open to doing that.

Jen Lilley: You Kind Of Have To Hold Your Head And Have Grace!

Jen Lilley airs for the final time as Maxie on GENERAL HOSPITAL in August, but she told the Christian Post that she is trusting God to provide her with her next role.

"I'm actually really excited to be off of 'General Hospital,'" the actress shared. "I pursue God on a daily basis, I'm not stepping into oblivion."

Lilly added that Christian in her industry is not easy.

She recalled having to reconsider a recent audition from a major motion picture studio because it conflicted with her values as a follower of Jesus Christ.

"I remember reading the script and being like, 'I can't do this as a Christian for a lot of reasons. One being that it is a horror movie," she said. "I like psychological thrillers but when it's demonic, there's no uplifting message."

Lilley went on to talk about the importance of children in her life, releasing a children's story this winter, and Christ raising her brother from the dead. You can read the entire story at christianpost.com.

Maria Bell Chairing The National Arts Awards, Dealing With MoCA Shake-up!

Ousted THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS executive producer and head writer will be chairing the National Arts Awards, taking place October 15 in New York. The list of honorees includes Microsoft's Paul Allen, stage actor Brian Stokes Mitchell, artist James Rosenquist, singer Josh Groban and arts patron Lin Arison.

Bell is a board co-chair of the Museum of Contemporary Art in L.A. which, like Y&R, is going through a shake-up this month. Three of four artists on the museum's board of trustees have now resigned. The Los Angeles Times says the action is a warning as much as a protest. It shows how trustees critically important to MOCA's future are being marginalized.

Here's an except of the resignation letter artists Catherine Opie and Barbara Kruger sent to co-chairs Bell and David Johnson:

We do know that a major rethinking of the mechanisms and templates for cultural funding is long overdue. Parties and galas are ok, but sometimes these things called “museums” have to have things called “exhibitions.” Our concerns are with the art, the exhibitions, and how the money that makes the exhibitions possible is gathered and distributed. Our concern is for a continued curatorial practice that is both rigorously complex and pleasurably awesome. Our concern is for a kind of transparency that allows for a Board of Trustees that is not surprised when bad things happen. And when they do, to face them with clarity, candor and intelligence. This requires honest and shared communication involving all the Board Members, not just a select few.

Bell and Johnson issued a statement on Friday, July 16, after artist John Baldessari’s resignation from the board, saying, “There is a paradigm shift happening today, and both art and its audience are changing.”

Jeanne Cooper Slams Mayor Bloomberg!

In addition to revealing that she bedded her soap son, actor Beau Kazer, 21 years her junior, Cooper slams Mayor Bloomberg in a 2004 Daytime Emmys incident at Gracie Mansion. Herded in for a photo op, she writes, “The mayor made the mistake of reaching out and grabbing my arm to pull me into place. I reflexively yanked my arm away, looked him in the eye and growled, ‘Don’t touch me’ . . . I have my limits when it comes to being treated like a prop.”

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS alum Tammin Sursok chases destiny in film!

Her passion is working behind the camera, so the 28-year-old has started a production company called Charlie Baby Productions with writer-director husband Sean McEwan. They're now in pre-production on a film, Whaling, written by Sursok, who also plays the lead in the dark comedy about a brother and sister.

"In this day and age you kind of have to do it yourself, sometimes you have to create your own destiny and we feel like we are doing that right now," Sursok said.

Mary Beth Evans: DAYS is my home!

"It’s funny because my husband often has gotten patients with the name Kayla, and he’ll say something like, 'Where did you get that name?' They’d reply, 'Oh, my mom always loved the soap character.' He’ll go, 'Well, you know, you’re not going to believe this, but that’s my wife.' So when those patients come back, he’ll tell me, 'You need to come in and say hi to them.' So, I’ll go in and take pictures with them. It’s pretty funny."

Colleen Zenk Joins THURSTON!!

Three-time Emmy nominee Colleen Zenk, who starred as Barbara Ryan on AS THE WORLD TURNS for 32 years, has signed on to appear in Indie Soap Award-nominated THURSTON, playing Agnes Snead. Agnes is the mother of the infamous Snead boys who make their debut in the final three episodes of THURSTON's first season in late August.

“I am thrilled to be joining the wild west of the late 1800s and the Thurston family,” said Zenk. “Kathryn O’Sullivan’s rich storytelling and Paul Awad’s film making are captivating, intriguing, beautiful, dangerous, and unpredictable. I can’t wait to see how Agnes Snead plays into the lives of the residents of the dusty-near-ghost-town of Thurston, Kansas. And I’m so happy to play, once more, the mother of a very bad son… only this time… x’s 3… 3 x’s the fun, with guns… and a woman scorned. Don’t you worry none boys, your Mama is a’ comin’."

According to THURSTON executive producer Kathryn O’Sullivan, Agnes is the former madam of Thurston and the fierce, savvy mother of the naughty Snead boys.

THURSTON was nominated for three Indie Soap Awards earlier this year including Best Web Series (Drama). For more on the show, visit thurston-series.com.

Chandler Massey Returns Home, Talks DAYS OF OUR LIVES & Winning An Emmy!

DAYS OF OUR LIVES star Chandler Massey recently returned home to Norcross, Georgia, and spoke with television stations 11 Alive about his Daytime Emmy win, his role as Will in DAYS OF OUR LIVES, and getting into acting.

"A lot of people came up and said that they saw their own struggle in the story and it touched them in some way," he says about his DAYS storyline. "That was the moment that I really felt proud of what I was doing and what the show and the writers were doing."

Massey recently wrapped shooting his role as Angelo in the Alicia Silverstone film Jesus in Cowboy Boots.

Keiko Elizabeth Comes To DAYS!

She's excited about her first television appearance–which she isn't allowed to talk much about–but said her late entry into acting means her entire life doesn't hinge on it.

"When you do something since you were young, a lot of your ego gets attached to what people think of your work," she said. "[When you] do something for a long period of time you lose your curiosity about it. [I've been] engaging in the process of getting better because my ego wasn't so wrapped up in it."

PASSIONS Star Brook Kerr Files For Divorce!

Kerr filed the docs in L.A. County Superior Court this month against husband Christopher Warren, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple married 22 years ago, but separated in 2009.

Brooke Kerr was original cast to play Tara on True Blood.

TEEN WOLF's Linden Ashby on working in daytime soaps!

"I started out in theater and then I got a job on a soap in New York. With a soap opera, its everyday, all year long- there’s no downtime and you’re shooting a show a day. You really watch people go through this process; I think I had a twitch in my eye for about the first three months I was on this thing because I was overwhelmed. There is no time to mess up, there’s no time for it, there’s no patience for it. You better be ready to play ball before you walk on that floor. And you see some of the best actors who you will ever have the pleasure to work with and then you see guys who learn tricks to get through the day and everything that you do becomes magnified. The good actors become great and the bad actors become really, really bad."

Clark Gable’s grandson and Victori Alfieri in legal battle!

A sordid tale of abuse and sexual promiscuity is documented in court papers filed by executive producer Adriana Trevino in a lawsuit against soap stud Victor Alfieri, who served as director of Gable’s first film, Looking For Clara.

Alfieri, who starred in DAYS OF OUR LIVES and THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, is painted as the madman who put Clark J. Gable in these harmful situations.

During torture scenes for the movie, court documents allege that Alfieri went too far by keeping “Clark Gable in a cold wet bathtub tied up, for hours. Gable was unable to move.” And documents alleged Alfieri held a real operating drill to Clark’s abdomen.

B&B's Ronn Moss injured in car accident!

Moss (Ridge) and his wife Devin DeVasquez suffered injuries when they were involved in an eight-car accident on Friday, July 27. The couple spent the night in the ER but were not significantly harmed.

Y&R's Jeanne Cooper on why she wrote a book!

"I got so tired of people saying, 'Write a book,' 'Why don't you write a book?' and I could finally shut them up," she says with a throaty laugh. "I swear to heavens if they asked one more time, 'Why don't you write a book?' I thought I'd throw up."

DAYS OF OUR KNIVES Coming To Investigation Discovery!

Walking in on your beau bedding your best friend… Halting your wedding because your evil twin stole your spot at the altar… Discovering that your mortal enemy is really your long-lost sibling. These may seem like the plotlines of a delicious daytime soap, but sensational stories are anything but fiction on Investigation Discovery. Dishing out the drama of blindsided betrayals, mistaken identities, and deadly deceptions, ID is staking its claim on real-life soap operas with the launch of daytime programming block DAYS OF OUR KNIVES on Monday, August 20 from 1-4 p.m. ET/PT.

By enlisting adored soap stars to host themed programming each weekday, ID will provide a new alternative to devoted soap fans searching for new “stories” to turn to. Hosting the block each day will be talent hailing from GUIDING LIGHT¸ to the now-longest running American soap currently in production, GENERAL HOSPITAL.

“Investigation Discovery is already the home of guilty pleasure programming, but perhaps there is no more popular example of a classic guilty pleasure than the soap opera,” said Henry Schleiff, president and general manager of Investigation Discovery. “With ID being the #4 network in daytime for Women 25-54*, we realized that soap fans already love The Young and The Restless so let’s give it to them ID-style: the young and the reckless!”

Lulu's A Little Woman!!

The new independent film, Orchard House, is an updated version of the Louisa May Alcott classic Little Women, and GENERAL HOSPITAL's Julie Marie Berman (Lulu) is playing one of the leads!

"It's a sweet movie that is a take on the Little Women story, but set in 2012," Berman tells In Depth. "I play Jo, which has been incredibly fun for me. Actually, funny enough, Justin Bruening (Jamie) from ALL MY CHILDREN plays Teddy, the guy in love with Jo. Small world, huh?"

Filming for Orchard House has been taking place in Grafton, MA, and Berman has been having a blast. "I've been having an absolutely fantastic time here filming," she enthuses, "mostly because the people are so down-to-Earth and friendly."

Jeanne Cooper Talks about Her Famous YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS Facelift!

Jeanne Cooper has starred in THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS as Katherine Chancellor since its first year. In 1984 the show incorporated her real-life facelift into the show's storyline. Cooper appeared as a guest on THE TALK on Thursday and talked about the impact of that decision. Watch the clip below:

AS THE WORLD TURNS Alum Annie Parisse Joins THE FOLLOWING As Series Regular!

Annie Parisse (ex-Julia, AS THE WORLD TURNS) has joined the cast of THE FOLLOWING as a series regular in the highly anticipated new thriller from creator/executive producer Kevin Williamson (THE VAMPIRE DIARIES; DAWSON'S CREEK), premiering midseason on FOX.

The chilling new series focuses on former FBI agent RYAN HARDY (Emmy Award-nominated actor Kevin Bacon, X-Men: First Class; Frost/Nixon), who is brought in as a consultant when notorious serial killer JOE CARROLL (James Purefoy, ROME) escapes from death row and embarks on a new killing spree.

Hardy discovers that, while in prison, Carroll was covertly communicating with a network of killers in the outside world and it quickly becomes obvious that he has more planned than just his escape.

Hardy works closely with an FBI team, including FBI Specialist Debra Parker PARKER (Parisse), who is brought in to lead the investigation of Carroll and his followers.

Parisse is best known to soap fans for her run as heroine turned villain Julia Lindsey Snyder in AS THE WORLD TURNS.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sebastian Roché Is Back, Ingo Rademacher Too!!

Fans that tuned in to GENERAL HOSPITAL on Friday saw that Sebastian Roché is back as Jerry Jacks. Were you surprised?

His on-screen brother, Ingo Rademacher, is also returning to the show as Jax. Jax was last seen in January and will be back on-screen later in August.

Kirsten Storms: Jen Lilly Bashers Not 'Supportive Fans of Mine'!

The new issue of Soap Opera Digest features a cover story and interview with GENERAL HOSPITAL's Kirsten Storms about her return to the soap. Storms admits she was taken aback by the recasting of Maxie with Jen Lilley at first and says she doesn't support the bashing of her replacement.

But I would prefer that someone play Maxie and be playing Maxie well to keep the character relevant and in the soap world still, because it doesn’t take much for a character to die off and for somebody else to come in and be in a front-burner storyline. I was definitely sad that I could not be there when Kimberly McCullough (Robin) was leaving during that storyline.

I don’t know that I would call the people who bashed Jen Lilley supportive fans of mine, because I think those are the people who probably were the first ones to turn around when I got sick and possibly start spreading rumors or lies and saying bad things about me on the Internet. I am grateful that they brought somebody in who could do such a great job of keeping Maxie on the canvas, and never in a million years would I have wanted her to feel like people were sticking up for me, by saying bad things to her.

What brought Eileen back to Days!

This week's Soap Opera Digest features an article about Eileen Davidson's return to Days. Eileen clarifies that she was "traded" to Days, but that originally she thought she was simply fired from Y&R, which is what led to her first tweet. After she found out she was going to Days, however, she was asked not to say anything about it for a while.

Eileen mentions that the cast has been very welcoming. "The crew, most of all. And then Drake, Deidre, Kristian Alfonso were terrific. Ali Sweeney. We didn't really work that much together back in the day, but we've been working more together now. That's been fun."

Eileen says that she was nervous since Ashley [her Y&R character] and Kristen are so different, and no one told her where Kristen had been, but she was able to easily resume playing the character. She says that perhaps she needed a change since she's having so much fun playing Kristen, a "multi-dimensional" person.

Davidson goes on to discuss Susan vs. Kristen (much of the same sentiment she shared in the video interview, that she wonders if Susan would fit into Salem now), and then she says that at the time of this interview, she had been working every day. She praises the Days writers for being some of the best she's seen in daytime, and then she says she considers herself lucky because when she left Y&R, she got hugs from coworkers saying they knew she'd be back, and when she came to Days, she was embraced there too!

GOOD AFTERNOON AMERICA – WEEK THREE!

The news remained grim for week three of last-place ABC daytime entry Good Afternoon America, which dipped to 1.70 million viewers and continues to lose about one-half of the year-ago One Life to Live audience, according to the Live Plus Same Day data from Nielsen. It will be interesting to see what happens when veteran General Hospital steps into the 2 p.m. ET hour this fall. Elsewhere, The View on ABC is down but still tops; second-place The Talk on CBS was close to year-ago levels; and third-place The Chew on ABC is no All My Children.

For a closer look, here are the results for the quartet (with change versus the comparable year-ago period in parentheses):

-Total Viewers:
The View (ABC): 3.14 million (-15), The Talk (CBS): 2.20 (- 1), The Chew (ABC); 2.12 (-18 from All My Children), Good Afternoon America (ABC): 1.70 (-39 from One Life to Live).

Jason Thompson guests on 90210!

Maurice Has A Date With The East!!

We know that GENERAL HOSPITAL's Maurice Benard (Sonny) love his fans. But did you know that, for the second summer in a row, the actor has loaded up his family into an RV and is driving from their California home, across the country, to the East Coast just so the Emmy winner can meet and greet his fans in the Tri-State area? Yep, the actor has a handful of public appearances scheduled for next weekend in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey, and he can't wait to see you there!

"I have the greatest time at these events," the actor told Soaps In Depth when we caught up with him in the midst of his road trip. "I'm more relaxed now than when I was younger, and I love the connection that I get with the people at these appearances. The fans open up, and so do I. I'm pretty honest at these things. I laugh, I cry sometimes... because you get into it. The fans are great."

Not only does Benard promise his fans a great time at the shows, but some lucky folks may even find themselves in a future issue of In Depth standing next to the dimpled star! "We're going to have one person from each show get their picture taken to be in the magazine," he explains. "Soaps In Depth is like family! I've never done that. I think it's going to be fun, something different."

Read more after the jump!

Before he kicks off his own personal appearances, Benard will be a special guest this Saturday night, August 4, when former co-star Vanessa Marcil-Giovinazzo (ex-Brenda) celebrates the New York launch of her children's clothing line, Baby Gagoo. "I was coming to do the opening of Vanessa's line, and then I decided to do these appearances," says Benard, adding that in return, "Vanessa will be at one of my events."
Tickets are still available for Benard's shows. (See schedule below). "I never know how many people are coming to these things. But it doesn't even matter," he confesses. "Sometimes the smaller groups are more intimate."

And those who do attend will be in for a real treat! "I'm going to do what I usually do: have a great time. I'm bringing a singer out that I met in Venice Beach, who I love, and then he sings with [my son] Joshua. I told my wife I was going to dance, and she told me I better not!"

Spinelli Gets Crazy!!

You may know Bradford Anderson best as GENERAL HOSPITAL's nerdy Spinelli, but the actor certainly isn't being typecast, appearing in an episode of PERCEPTION as a crazed cult member!

In the episode "The Messenger," airing Monday, August 6 at 10pm EST on TNT, Anderson plays Shane Flannery, who is a suspect in the brutal murder of a cult member who claimed to hear the word of God.

"It was really fun," Anderson says of the role. "I get to play a fiery zealot who thinks just about everyone should burn if they don't think like he does. That might not sound 'fun,' but for me it was nice to do something other than my usual wide-eyed innocent."

The actor also learned that there was a surprising connection between his daytime home and PERCEPTION star Eric McCormack. "It was a great cast and crew," Anderson reports. "And I also learned that GH is frequently viewed in the McCormack household!"

Griffin decided to tell Ryan everything that he knew about the Orpheus Project. Griffin suggested to Kendall that Zach could be alive, but Kendall insisted that it wasn't possible. David took Greenlee to his secret lair where he kept past Pine Valley residents, believed to have died, locked in rooms for treatment. David realized that Greenlee had faked her systems, so he injected her with drugs that knocked her out. Greenlee dreamed of waking up in a room where her first husband, Leo duPres, had been kept. Greenlee and Leo reminisced about their life together and then Leo told her that he wanted her to be happy, even if it were with Ryan. Greenlee woke up from her dream and then looked at the gurney, expecting to see Leo, but she was shocked when she saw Zach instead. Elsewhere, Janet burned down Oak Haven, which allowed Erica, Dixie, Annie, Janet, and Marian to escape. Annie went to see Emma. Ryan refused to provide Annie sanctuary, but he promised to take Emma for visits to see Annie because he realized that she was getting better when she volunteered to surrender to the police. Kendall and Bianca were stunned when Erica arrived on their doorstep with Dixie in tow. Tad and Cara grew closer as they made plans to go to Martha's Vineyard for a belated honeymoon. Cara was startled after Janet was admitted to the hospital and then revealed that Dixie was alive. Cara assumed that Janet was delusional, but Griffin admitted that what Janet had said could be true. She promised to wait for him, but Bill said that he belonged with Katie and he loved Katie, too. Steffy tried to persuade Bill that he wasn't responsible for Katie's heart attack, but Bill disagreed. He said that he could lose Katie, and he couldn't live with himself if that ever happened. Katie sneaked out of her hospital room and confronted Steffy. Katie warned that Bill would never leave her, but Steffy said that Bill had admitted to her that he loved both Katie and Steffy. At Forrester, Taylor told Ridge about Steffy and Bill. Taylor dished that Katie knew the truth. Brooke advised both Taylor and Ridge that Katie had landed in the hospital with a heart attack due to Bill's infidelity with Steffy. Most people can feel close to their loved ones by tucking their favourite Kodak moment in their wallet. But Beyoncé went the extra mile, by putting a portrait of Jay-Z on her fingernail beside a snapshot of herself. The singer posted the funny and utterly adorable photograph of her creative nail art on her Tumblr page.

But before her critics raise their eyes to the heavens, accusing her of having too much time on her hands - literally, the songbird gave a little something back yesterday.
It was announced that the former Destiny's Child beauty, together with songwriter Diane Warren will be donating album track "I Was Here" to World Humanitarian Day. Beyoncé will film a video for the track at the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York in front of a live audience on August 19.

Speaking of the campaign, she said: 'We all see the headlines and think what can I do to help? World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference. This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care.'

Nina Garcia Very Drastically Overestimates What ‘A Few Weeks’ Salary’ Means For Most People

Stop the presses! Someone has out-GOOP-ed Gwyneth! And it was Nina Garcia!

By “GOOPing” (a verb I just made up), I of course mean “advising one’s followers to buy something that only someone with your exorbitant salary (i.e. not many of them) can afford, and presenting it as common sense, girl-to-girl lifestyle advice.” (Depending on how naive you are willing to believe she is, it might also be interpreted as a tasteless #humblebrag.)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The Birkin bag in question costs $26,000. As in, more than some people make in a year.

Garcia’s followers were quick to point out her miscalculation:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

She has yet to respond to this criticism in any way.

Doing a little bit of math, someone would need to make about $450,000/year to earn $26,000 in three weeks. The average household income in America (all breadwinners combined) is somewhere around $50,000. I don’t know the average annual income of someone who follows Nina Garcia on twitter, but I’m guessing it’s not $450,000.

Believe it or not, I’m not criticizing Nina Garcia for being rich or buying expensive things. I’m criticizing her for being so out of touch with her readership that she’d sincerely recommend they buy a handbag that costs more than a year of tuition at Columbia. I know Nina Garcia was born wealthy, but she did work as a regular fashion journalist for a while before ascending to her current role as Marie Claire editor-at-large/Project Runway judge/”Style Voice and fashion collection curator” to J.C. Penney, so she should have at least some idea what her core demographic makes.

Or even if she’s always made six figures (must be nice!), Garcia is educated enough to have at least read the newspaper sometime in the past few years, no? Is this woman just incredibly naive, or what? Does she really believe that only rich ladies read fashion blogs? Or maybe she’s trolling for outrage, in which case, congrats, I guess? What do you think?
