Summary

* AV Club is surprised, as am I, that's it's taken this long for a show to adapt Wuthering Heights in a high school setting
* Apparently this Lifetime effort doesn't capture the soul of the book and is pretty mild
* Although the ending was supposedly great

Did anybody watch it? Wuthering Heights is my favourite Classic book.

Photogs caught up with Kanye West as he made his way through LAX on Friday.  The sun was shining and Kanye was positive, answering questions from the paparazzi with a huge grin on his face.  Kanye even promises to research one of the paparazzo's questions and get back to him!

After a charming dude in a 1991 baseball cap botches his one shot at making it in hip hop, Kanye, realizing it would be cruel and unnecessary to address this man's failed attempt at freestyling, says, "I love Obama. He called our house before. He knows that. Don't try to pit us against each other. I love Obama."

When President Barack Obama was on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday, he wouldn't admit to calling Kanye at home though. "I don't think I have his home number," Obama said, never revealing which phone numbers of Kanye's he does have (real sneaky, Obama!), "I do love his music, though. He's terrific."

As for the comment Rush Limbaugh made about the racist SAE chant being a hit if it were a Kanye song, Kanye will let us know what he thinks after he looks into it.  Good service!

So there was a horror convention in New Jersey over the weekend that Friday the 13th creator Sean S. Cunningham was at. According to horror site Dread Central Cunningham revealed that the Golden Globe winning CW network is currently interested in developing a series about Friday the 13th.

The series will be much different from the original Friday the 13th: The Series. The CW version will focus on the "real" town of Crystal Lake that the movies are supposed to be based on and the whole thing is supposed to be very meta and will supposedly feature both hockey mask wearing Jason and a more "reality based" backwoods killer.

No word yet if Jason will now somehow become a woobie but it's the CW so the answer is probably yes.

Japan's princess of weirdness is back.

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's latest single, "Mondai Girl," has just been released along with the single. The song was written by Nakata Yasutaka, of course, and the title sounds similar to the Japanese phrase "mondai ga aru." or "I have problems." The video is her first to feature foreign dancers, but she doesn't say where they are from.

It's the theme song to a drama called "Mondai no Aru Restaurant (A Restaurant with Problems)," which has been on Fuji TV since January 15th. It's a comedy/drama about a woman who opens a bistro.

Is James Franco, who devotes a striking amount of creative energy to gay-themed projects like Interior. Leather Bar and The Broken Tower and yet identifies as straight, gay-baiting or gay-engaged? Is he a hyperartistic closet case or just a really enthusiastic fan?

There's only one way to find out. In the March issue of Four Two Nine magazine, editor-in-chief Kevin Sessums convinced Franco to speak on the gay question in a novel and surprisingly effective way: The straight James Franco would interview the gay one.

Straight James:Let’s get substantial: are you fucking gay or what?
             

Gay James: Well, I like to think that I’m gay in my art and straight in my life. Although, I’m also gay in my life up to the point of intercourse, and then you could say I’m straight. So I guess it depends on how you define gay. If it means whom you have sex with, I guess I’m straight. In the twenties and thirties, they used to define homosexuality by how you acted and not by whom you slept with. Sailors would fuck guys all the time, but as long as they behaved in masculine ways, they weren’t considered gay.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Terrence Howard revealed that he wishes Empire to use the N-word so it could be as realistic as possible.  "I’m mad that we don’t say n—- in the show." he says "Why is TV showing something different from the reality of the world? Why is there a thing called censorship that stop people from hearing everyday talk? We use n—-every day. It’s become part of a conversation—why aren’t we using it in the show?”

He also revelead his feelings on political correctness saying: "Iwant to get rid of this fucked up word called PC. I think it’s a gate for bigotry because as long as you’re politically correct you can say anything you want but feel some way different". He further said "If we start getting silly, if we start playing to people’s fancies, then we don’t deserve to be where we are,” regarding Empire’s success.

Later when TMZ caught up with Taraji P. Henson and asked her about the issue, she took a different stance. In reply to their question "Should Empire use the N-word to be more authentic?", she said:"Aw, no, you might piss people off!!!". Last year, Lee Daniels also said the word would not be used on the show because of its negativity.
