Zach Galifianakis Lost a Good Bit of Weight

Whoa! Zach Galifianakis has apparently been working on his physique. The Hangover actor, who hasn't made an official public appearance since Oct. 2013, reemerged at a screening of Birdman Or The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance at the closing night of the New York Film Festival in New York City on Sunday, Oct. 12, looking significantly slimmer.

"Being a celebrity is shit — it's dumb, and I'm not interested in it," he said. "I like to be an actor, and that's it. The blurred lines are, I think, man-made. I think celebrity is a man-made thing; it's not innate in us… I'd rather just do my work and go home and watch Lifetime."

"It's confusing to me — all of this is confusing to me. They oversell it like we're curing cancer, you know what I mean? I just think it can be gross sometimes, the way Hollywood congratulates itself all the time."

welp, my friend saw him filming in asheville and said he looked a lot thinner in person than on the screen. guess this is why.

Anne Curtis mulls over Hollywood career + her US film debut, Blood Ransom

$

“Sure, a lot of actors would love to go to Hollywood and try out for roles, but it’s so hard to leave what I have here,” said Anne Curtis, when asked if she was entertaining thoughts of pursuing an international career, now that her US film is about to hit the theaters.

Curtis, who has dabbled in just about everything local show biz has to offer, said she was happy with all the things she had accomplished in the country. “I’m worried about giving up something that is already so stable,” Curtis told reporters at the recent press conference for “Blood Ransom.”

Also in the event was her leading man, American actor Alexander Dreymon, who played a recurring character in the third season of the FX series “American Horror Story.”

Though she expressed interest in auditioning or taking up acting classes abroad, Curtis said she was bound by her show biz commitments here.

“I have ‘It’s Showtime’ … I get to have only a month [of] vacation. I was just lucky that Viva and ABS-CBN allowed me to do this project,” Curtis said.

Asked how she landed the lead role in the movie, Curtis said, “My friend Sam Richelle asked me if I’d be willing to send an audition tape for a film to be shot in the United States. I gave it a shot.”

“Blood Ransom,” a paranormal romance-thriller movie, was shot and directed two years ago by Filipino-American director Francis de la Torre of Tectonic Films in California. In the trailer shown to the press, Curtis’ character, Crystal, seemingly turns into a vampire.

“I’ve done comedy and drama films, but not suspense-thrillers like ‘Blood Ransom,’” Curtis said. “This is so different from my past films.”

Although shooting was done almost every day for a month, Curtis said she did not get too exhausted because working hours in the United States were regulated—unlike in local show biz. “They make sure that we get enough sleep,” said Curtis, who is now a member of the Screen Actors Guild.

Things went smoothly, Curtis said, save for an awkward moment when filming an intimate scene with Dreymon, who plays Jeremiah, Crystal’s kidnapper and would-be lover. “Our director kept telling me that he wanted our kiss to be more passionate,” Curtis said. “Apparently, he wanted us to French kiss!”

She continued, “I was a little taken aback because we don’t usually do that here. But I was assured it would be tastefully done.”

Working on “Blood Ransom” was fruitful, Curtis said, adding that she was not in it for the money, but for the experience. “I hope to do similar projects in the future,” she said. “I rarely audition nowadays, so I felt like a newbie in a way. I was inspired to learn more.”

“Blood Ransom” premieres on Oct. 29 in the Philippines and Oct. 31 in the United States. “I’ll fly there (US) and stay for a week to promote the movie,” Curtis said.

Scottish King, Calvin Harris Blesses Us With ANOTHER New Track & MV!

First things first, King Cal wants you to know...

The mystery surrounding “Slow Acid,” a song (and upcoming video) Calvin Harris has been teasing lately, is over. And it turns out the track is instrumental, save for a high-pitched “Wooo!” vocal sample that occasionally reverberates throughout.

As for the music, Harris offers up a ravey mid-tempo number with a steady beat and throbbing synths that never really kick the party into high gear. (Sorry, but he did warn you by putting “Slow” in the title.) It’ll be interesting to see what kind of visual Calvin and director Emil Nava whip up for the song, given that this hardly seems like a candidate for single release.

“Slow Acid” will appear on Harris’ upcoming album Motion (out November 4). Give it a listen below.

5 Songs Actually About Courtney Love: Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails and...Gwen Stefani(?)

$

marilyn-manson-courtney-love-premiere-screening-of-fxs-sons-of-anarchy

Courtney Love has an interesting little black book. Having dated individuals such as Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins and Trent Reznor at his Nine Inch Nails' grimiest, it could easily be argued that Kurt Cobain was the most normative of her men. She must be doing something right to catch the allure of so many brilliant-if-bizarre alt-rock icons. In fact, she just told BBC 6 that most of the Pumpkins' classic album Siamese Dream is in fact about her.

"Yeah, loads, because there are so many of them that are about me. 'Siamese Dream,' 'Bodies,' 'Today.' He stopped writing about me, and then he stopped making hits," she said. "There's one on Siamese Dream called 'Spaceboy'...that's about his brother. But the rest are all pretty much about me."

Never mind that Corgan himself has attributed most of the songs to his then breakup with future wife Chris Fabian. That would make Love's claims of obsession basically true, except with regard to a totally different woman. Of course, the guitarist was also planning his own suicide throughout the recording process. So who knows what was going on with that guy.

Not to worry however. Plenty of performers, if not Corgan, have openly made songs about Love. And uh, none of them are very flattering. From the most to least obvious:

"Starfuckers, Inc." by Nine Inch Nails (1999)

Although Corgan's crush on Love kept on for years following their breakup, Reznor didn't share the same feelings. The Grammy-nominated track "Starfuckers, Inc." didn't specifically call out Love by name but it did feature an obese woman with a nose bandage (believed to be a reference to her then-recent plastic surgery) who finds herself submerged in human waste. Marilyn Manson is also rumored to be an inspiration for the song but he also appears in the video personally so at least he's in on the fun. Reznor's beef wasn't as simple as a bitter breakup: He also claims she went out of her way to ruin his friendship with Tori Amos. Speaking of which...

"Too Cool Queenie" by Stone Temple Pilots (2001)

Add Scott Weiland to the list of questionable choices that Love has spent time dating. Although the former Stone Temple Pilots vocalist has played the Carly Simon card and has never given a name to go with his tale of a woman driving a professional musician to suicide and "she made lots of money and some of his too" but...come on. If you can name anyone else who fills the description please let us know.

"Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani (2005)

This is actually one of the most verifiable cases of a song being about Love but still one of the most surprising. Because it was arguably the most popular song of 2004. Love decided that she was the hip rocker girl and Stefani was a "cheerleader" for her work in No Doubt. Gwen probably "lol'd" at this assessment and intentionally staged herself as a literal cheerleader, and one willing to fight with the woman on the other end of the insult.

Nick Jonas Releases Two New Songs

For some strange and unfair reason, Nick Jonas’ Australian fans can buy the tracks “Teacher” and “Wilderness” – off Nick’s upcoming self-titled debut solo album out on November 11th – on iTunes Australia staring today (Oct. 14).

Click on the link below to listen to the songs, it won't let me link them....Wilderness is my JAM

I’ll have to eat my words of when I reviewed “Chains” a couple months ago and doubted that Nick could be successful with this JT-much sound. The sound fits Nick, but I just doubted he could connect with the general audience with it as he came from a too-pop world. “Jealous” is doing pretty good, and by the sound of the tracks we have heard so far, it seems "Nick Jonas" will be the album surprise of the year!

Watch child porn? That doesn't make you a pedophile, claims author John Grisham

Celebrated crime-fiction writer John Grisham has attacked America's judicial system for wrongly locking up men he believes 'accidentally' watched child pornography.

The best-selling author and lawyer - who penned novels like The Rainmaker, The Firm and The Pelican Brief - has given an astonishing interview to The Telegraph defending some child sex offenders, saying they have become victims of a legal system that has 'gone crazy'.

...

He said his 'old buddy from law school' became involved in an operation organized by the FBI in Canada.

'His drinking was out of control, and he went to a website,' Grisham told The Telegraph. It was labelled ''sixteen-year-old wannabee hookers'' or something like that. And it said ''16-year-old girls''. So he went there. Downloaded some stuff - it was 16-year-old girls who looked 30. He shouldn't have done it. It was stupid, but it wasn't 10-year-old boys. He didn't touch anything. And God, a week later there was a knock on the door: ''FBI!'' and it was sting set up by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to catch people - sex offenders - and he went to prison for three years. There's so many of them now. There's so many ''sex offenders'' - that's what they're called - that they put them in the same prison. Like they're a bunch of perverts, or something. We've gone nuts with this incarceration.'

Grisham was sure to say that he has 'no sympathy for real pedophiles' and believes anyone caught committing such a crime should face harsh penalties.

However he believes many men have been penalized too harshly for doing too little.

Questioned about the fact that viewing child porn fuels child abuse by placing a demand on creating new material, Grisham replied that sentences should still be lower for people who only download the content.

...

However, a report published in February by Reason magazine claimed that offenders caught viewing child pornography often received harsher sentences than offenders caught sexually abusing children.

It didn't long for Grisham fans to express outrage over his controversial comments.

Ryan Gosling Eyed For Lead Roles In Multiple Major Franchises, Including Marvel & DC Movie Universes

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that heartthrob Ryan Gosling is eyeing leading roles in multiple major franchises, after a recent break from acting. Gosling is reportedly in talks for superhero roles in both the Marvel and DC cinematic universes, as well as the role of Houdini.

The move comes on the heels of the birth of his first child with actress Eva Mendes, which some industry reporters speculated earlier this year would prompt him to take roles in more big budget movies. Gosling has typically resisted roles in major franchises, but the new report suggests his stance has changed. THR reports that he has met with Marvel for the high profile role of Doctor Strange, which several well known actors have been rumored for including Jared Leto and Matthew McConaughey. Meanwhile, Gosling is also reportedly being considered for a villainous role in WB's recently announced Suicide Squad film, as part of its DC universe.

The 45-year-old is breaking out of her rom-com comfort zone with an erotically charged thriller.

And J Lo certainly does her best to show her seductive side in a new poster released to promote The Boy Next Door.

Standing in a window, in a tight low-cut lacy vest, the mother-of-two looks every inch the temptress.

In the film she plays Claire, a teacher whose marriage is falling apart. She then meets Noah (Ryan Guzman), the teenage boy who has moved in next door and quickly develops a crush on her.

The trailer gives a hint of the raunchy nature of the movie.

'God you’re beautiful,’ Noah tells Claire as she does her best impression of a soccer mom character – but can’t help but look picture perfect.

Kenya Moore Donates $20,000 to Detroit Schools, Nene's $20,000 Donation Still MIA

Nene Leakes, YOU JUST GOT SERVED!

Kenya Moore, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, one-time Miss USA and sometime Porsha Williams punching bag says she's doing damn well financially, thankyouverymuch.

Kenya went up to her local Chase Bank branch and had them cut a $20,000 check to the Detroit Public Schools Foundation, defying NeNe's comments on The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion show. Leakes implied that Moore was all talk and no walk and didn't have the money she was fronting like she had. Well, that check for 20 large can speak volumes.

Not only does Kenya want her to eat her words, she wants NeNe to cough up 20 big ones of her own for a good cause and back up her own charitable talk she spoke up at the reunion.

Media outlet TMZ reached out for a response from Moose but her Metro PCS bill hadn't been paid yet.

Challenge issued. Gauntlet thrown down. Fiscal facial? Served.

8 (3) YouTube Stars Who Are Taking Over the World

$
0
0

If you are older than 25 (or don’t have a teenager living in your house), you’d be totally forgiven for having no idea who Smosh and Pointless Alfie are. But they and other young YouTube stars are watched by millions each day, mobbed on the street, have extremely profitable careers, and are wanted by all of the biggest brands. And they’ve achieved all of this often without leaving their bedrooms. It is easy, of course, to dismiss a group of people who have made a vocation of filming themselves surrounded by shopping bags, “hauling” (this is when you show your recent purchases to camera), or goofing around on-screen, but their success is unquestionable. Earlier this year, Variety conducted a study of 1,500 American teens and found that the cultural figures they cited as most influential were YouTube favorites, overtaking both Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Just what is their appeal? Perhaps it’s that teenagers feel these performers are not promoting an unachievable lifestyle in some aspirational manner, but instead are letting them into their lives (and, frankly, their bedrooms) in an honest, approachable, and often funny way. Here, we’ve rounded up a list of eight stars who have risen to fame on YouTube, information with which you’ll be set to impress any thirteen-year-old.

Bethany Mota
Meet eighteen-year-old Californian haul girl Bethany Mota. She may look like your normal girl next door, but since she began hauling in 2009, she now has two million followers on Twitter, four million followers on Instagram, and seven-and-a-half million subscribers on YouTube. (Yes, that’s more than Gaga or Beyoncé.) Her fans, known as “motavators,” are moving her to the real world; she’s now designing ongoing fashion collections for Aéropostale.

Zoella
Brit girl Zoe Sugg, as she’s known IRL, has had a casual 270 million views of her videos. They feature her sitting on her bed, offering beauty advice, or doing shopping hauls, often with her YouTube boyfriend Pointless Alfie (scroll down for more on him) or one of her vlogger best friends. The 24-year-old has just launched a beauty line across the U.K. and has signed a book deal with Penguin for her first novel, Girl Online, coming out next month.

JacksGap
Twin brothers Jack and Finn Harries are much like a YouTube version of One Direction. With their Brit accents and blow-dried hair, the pair originally started vlogging about taking a year to travel before university, and now post regular cheeky chats to nearly four million followers.

Checked these vids and damn, these people are either boring or annoying (or both).

The Ten (five) WORST Movies with the BEST Ensemble Casts

$
0
0

This is Where I Leave You opens this weekend, and it’s got a great ensemble cast: Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, Rose Byrne, Corey Stoll, Kathryn Hahn, Connie Britton, Timothy Olyphant, Dax Shepard, Jane Fonda. In fact, that cast is so good — and it’s based on great source material (a Jonathan Tropper novel/screenplay) — that you have to wonder how could it possibly go wrong?

But then you remember so many instances in the past that boasted amazing, all-star casts, and nevertheless managed to be huge disappointments. Bateman, Fey, Britton, and Olyphant are not, unfortunately, a guarantee of success, as these ten past ensembles illustrate.

8. The Family Stone

Ensemble: Diane Keaton, Craig T. Nelson, Dermot Mulroney, Sarah Jessica Parker, Luke Wilson, Claire Danes, Rachel McAdams, and Elizabeth Reaser.

Rotten Tomatoes: 51 percent. This was supposed to be Parenthood set at Christmas. It wasn’t. At all. Also, what happened to Elizabeth Reaser?

6. Bobby

Ensemble: Laurence Fishburne, Heather Graham, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Hunt, Joshua Jackson, Shia LaBeouf, Lindsay Lohan, William H. Macy, Demi Moore, Martin Sheen, Christian Slater, Sharon Stone, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Elijah Wood.

Rotten Tomatoes: 46 percent. I would remind you that this was before we were making fun of Shia (although, we were already making fun of Sharon Stone). I also like to refer to this movie as though I were Hank Hill referring to his son.

5. Southland Tales

Ensemble: Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mandy Moore, and Justin Timberlake.

Rotten Tomatoes: 36 percent. Donnie Darko seemed trippy and profound. Southland Tales illustrated that the emperor (in this case, Richard Kelly) had no clothes. The 36 percent who gave this a positive review were all tripping balls.

4. Valentine’s Day

Ensemble: Jessica Alba, Kathy Bates, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Topher Grace, Anne Hathaway, and Julia Roberts (among others).
Rotten Tomatoes: 18 percent. When you have 20 popular cast members and two hours of runtime, each actor is only going to get around 10 minutes of screentime, which is hardly enough time to invest in a character. Not that it would’ve mattered. The storylines themselves were dreadful.

1. Movie 43

Ensemble: Kristen Bell, Halle Berry, Gerard Butler, Anna Faris, Chris Pratt, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Knoxville, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloë Grace Moretz, Seann William Scott, Emma Stone, and Kate Winslet

Rotten Tomatoes: 4 percent. A series of tasteless vignettes that I would simply like to remind everyone included one in which our beloved Chris Pratt played a character who tried fill overfill his bowels so that he could take a sh*t on his wife during sex, but ended up having an ass explosion all over a car windshield after he was hit by a car. Oh, and Hugh Jackman had testicles hanging from his neck.

I refuse to put Mars Attack on any "worst movie" list.
Whats that movie you love but everyone else hates?

Rest of the movies at source.

Prepare To Be Colonized! Pitbull Unveils The (Slightly Scary) Cover Of New LP ‘Globalization’

Your Christmas shopping is now taken care of thanks to Pitbull. His eighth studio LP Globalization drops November 24 — giving you plenty of time to buy a copy for everyone you know. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving! The rap heavyweight also unveiled the cover today (October 15) and it looks like a poster for an old sci-fi flick with his facial features being replaced by a globe.

The tracklist hasn’t been unveiled yet but current hit “Fireball” is being touted as the lead single, so it looks like G.R.L.-assisted club-banger “Wild Wild Love” missed the cut. (Kesha collaboration “Timber” already appeared on Pit’s underrated 2013 EP Meltdown). Catchy Spanish language single “Como Yo Le Doy” is also expected to be on international editions.
