Funimation Streams Bayonetta: Bloody Fate English Dub Trailer

Funimation began streaming an English-dubbed trailer on Sunday for its upcoming release of the Bayonetta: Bloody Fate film.

The cast includes:

Hellena Taylor as Bayonetta
Grey DeLisle as Jeanne
Yuri Lowenthal as Luka
Grant Albrecht as Balder
Dave Fennoy as Rodin
John Kassir as Enzo
Richard Epcar as Narrator

Funimation describes the film:

Based on the best-selling franchise, this pulse-pounding feature length anime shows you a side of Bayonetta you've never seen before! Twenty years after her awakening, the hottest witch in gaming history is still searching for clues that could help unravel the mysteries of her dark past. Aided in her quest by the clandestine weapon smith Rodin – and his deadly creations: Scarborough Fair – Bayonetta continues to leave a trail of angel corpses in her irresistible wake. Her search for answers leads to encounters with a mysterious – and eerily familiar – little girl, a vengeance-obsessed journalist, and a deadly white-haired beauty that seems to know more about Bayonetta than the witch herself. Fans of the franchise won't want to miss this chance to see their favorite fantasy come to life in a killer flick packed with mind-blowing action and scandalous scenes of seduction!

Kizaki (Afro Samurai, Basilisk, Super Street Fighter IV, X-Men) directed, storyboarded, and shot Bayonetta: Bloody Fate off a screenplay by Mitsutaka Hirota (The Prince of Tennis II, Tetsujin 28-gō Gao!, X-Men). Ai Yokoyama designed the characters based on Mari Shimazaki's original game art. (Shimazaki also supervised the project.) Hiroya Iijima (Afro Samurai, Tiger & Bunny) designed the angels, while mechanical designers Katanao Akai and Takashi Watabe (new Evangelion films, Ghost in the Shell, Super Street Fighter IV) were in charge of the creatures and guns, respectively. Unlike even the Japanese version of the original game, the anime film has Japanese voices.

Platinum Games and Sega released the first Bayonetta action game about a shape-shifting, fighting witch on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan in October 2009 and then in North America in January 2010. Platinum Games is now developing Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U.

Shaken by images of Gaza children being shelled by the Israeli heavy artillery, American singer and songwriter Madonna, has voiced her condemnation of to the war machine that is taking the lives of innocent Gaza children, and called for a peace and ceasefire.

Reacting to the Israeli massacre in Gaza, Madonna posted, on her Facebook, a picture of colorful roses with the following words on: “These flowers are like the innocent children of Gaza! Who has a right to destroy them? No one!!!! CEASE FIRE! Peace in the Middle East.”

Like many other Western and American celebrities who were criticized for expressing their opinion on the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Madonna’s call for a ceasefire was immediately understood by some as a sign of support for Hamas.

Madonna had to add another post to clarify her stand on the issue:“I do not Support Hamas! I support human dignity and respect! I support sharing! I support Peace! Cease fire.”

George R.R. Martin on ‘Game of Thrones,’ That Controversial Rape Scene, and His Writing Progress

$
0
0

What do you think about the HBO series drastically altering scenes from the books, for instance the rape scene between Jaime and Cersei in the sept? It really changes Jaime’s whole character.

That scene is written somewhat different in the TV series than in the books.

I think that’s why it disappointed so many fans.

I’ve worked in television and film so I understand the necessity of adaptation. We have the biggest budget in television and we have 10 hours. I’d actually love to have 13 hours, but even if we had 13 hours we wouldn’t be able to get everything in—we’d have to cut things inevitably, characters are going to align, things are going to change. There’s a lot of drive for economy of money and economy of time, so inevitably some things are going to be changed. David and Dan wrestle with these issues every day, and you have actors and you have directors who are bringing their own vision to it.

I have a luxury that they don’t: I can present these scenes in a considerably longer length and I can present them with an internal monologue. When I wrote that scene in the book, I told it from the point of view of—I don’t even remember, is that Cersei’s point of view or Jaime’s?—Jaime’s point of view. I can go inside the head and show exactly what he’s thinking and if you just look at the dialogue, if they’d included all that dialogue it would have been a considerably longer scene. Virtually any scene, there’s always economy. You know the scene would be five minutes long and we have to get another scene that’s one minute long or half a minute long. In that case, I do wish they’d included my dialogue from the books because I think that would have been seen in a different context.

Do you feel they were trying to sensationalize it?

I don’t think they were. I haven’t discussed this with them and I wasn’t on the set when they were filming that scene. There may have been words that were shot that were never used and that were left out when the scene was edited down. I don’t think that there was any intent to really change the scene as written in the books. I think it just came across that way and you know, you’ve seen interviews with director Alex Graves where he’s talking about that scene and what he thought that scene came across as.

I thought he was copping out, personally.

You know, it was always meant to be a troubling scene. In the books, they are committing incest in a church next to the corpse of their dead son. But of course the circumstances are very different because of previous changes. In the TV show, Jaime has been home for at least weeks and possibly months. The time frame isn’t clear. In the books, Jaime is still not back from King’s Landing when Joffrey dies. He’s not there for the wedding. There’s a lot of speculation that he may be dead. He’s escaped; he hasn’t been seen. Various reports are reaching the capital, and Varys isn’t able to find him. All this is in there and then you have Cersei, who’s not a viewpoint character at that point in the books, so you really don’t know what she’s thinking. In my mind, she’s clearly thinking that Jaime may be dead. The only person she ever truly loved besides her children may be lost to her forever and suddenly there he is before her—but shockingly maimed and transformed. There is a mutual passion for each other. And it’s like if you get a cable that your husband has been killed in war, and then suddenly there he is—he’s not killed in war. That triggers something. When they changed the time frame, they changed the context of that scene.

Where do you see Jaime and Cersei headed?

Well, as for the books, I have two more to write. I’m certainly going to be dealing with Jaime. Jaime and Cersei’s relationship is in a very different place in the books than the show has reached now. They are effectively estranged now. Jaime is very angry with Cersei over the stuff that Tyrion told him—that she’s been sleeping with Lancel and the Kettleblacks and Moon Boy. And the Kettleblacks and Moon Boy don’t even exist in the series.

When do you think the sixth book will be finished?

When it’s done.

The Bachelorette Finale: Will Andi Pick Josh or Nick?

$

0

The Bachelorette‘s journey to love ends Monday night. If all goes according to script, over the course of the three-hour Bachelorette event, Andi Dorfman will end up with a strapping young gentleman kneeling before her, slipping a giant Neil Lane diamond ring on her finger. Not only will it be a great promotional moment for Neil Lane jewelers, but it will also be the crowning moment for the sultry Atlanta district attorney who started her fairy tale in the nightmare of sharing a fantasy suite with Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis.

After meeting a herd of producer-approved, gelled, bronzed and after-shaved bachelors, Andi has sorted, whittled, honed and thinned her flock of eligible life mates down to two possibilities: Nick V. and Josh M.

Nick V. is a software salesman from Wisconsin with an extremely large family, a predilection for poetry and a love of accent scarves. He wasn’t on The Bachelorette to make friends and proved that again and again. He did catch Andi’s eye early on, though, winning the coveted First Impression rose and sneaking many a quiet make out sessions with Andi. In his profile on ABC.com, he lists Dumb & Dumber among his favorite movies and says that “to feed off other’s [sic.] people’s energy is intense.”

Josh, a former pro baseball player, told ABC that if he was stranded on a desert island he would bring “a woman to be with and to have company, a gun to easily kill animals to eat, and a knife to carve them up,” which sounds delightful if you’re into that sort of thing and like a deleted scene from Silence of the Lambs if you’re not. Still, he and Andi — who has been known to take dates to target practice — have an unmistakable chemistry. Andi has already admitted that Josh is her type and since she liked his family, there isn’t much left in the “con” column. Plus, they are from the same part of the country. Long distances have been the death-knell for many a Bachelor-initiated relationship, but their Southern roots would eliminate that particular stressor. Also, he wears a size 13 shoe. (Just saying.)

So who will take the title? We’re Team Marquel, but as Andi already ditched him (and he was cast in forthcoming reality TV atrocity, Bachelor in Paradise), our money is on Josh.

Joe Jackson has been painted as everything from a monster to a genius over the decades. His love for his children overshadowed by greed and ambition.

Now, in a series of posts on his blog, Jackson is opening up about his notoriously private family. Beginning with his estranged wife Katherine Jackson, the family patriarch has written down his feelings about each of his children, culminating with today’s post about his “girl,” Janet:

Janet, the youngest in the family is very very smart. She was more like a tough kid. She was real rough. I mean she was rough. What do they call them… yes … tomboy. She was a tomboy.  She could whop all the girls. Really rough and really really smart. She is really easy nowadays. She has mellowed. She is now married and living a good life with her husband.

When I suffered 4 strokes last year, and was in the hospital recovering, only two people in my family traveled all the way to see in the hospital. My granddaughter Brandi (Jackie’s daughter and my baby girl Janet. She sat right next to me as I lay in bed, spent time with me, talking about a lot together. It meant a lot to me. I lay there listening to her as she talked about how she was going to get married. I am happy for her and wish her nothing but the best ! I never tell you this, but I am proud of you Janet.

Who may be one of the Four Horsemen in X-Men: Apocalypse?

$

The biggest news coming from the next X-Men movie X-Men: Apocalypse will be who is playing the famed Four Horsemen with the villain Apocalypse. But has writer Simon Kinberg already confirmed one of them?

Speaking with MTV News, Kinberg teased a return of Angel, played by Ben Foster in X-Men: The Last Stand, and said that while he was born in present day in that movie, he could come back for the 80s-set Apocalypse.

"I would say in terms of making any character decisions on Apocalypse is, we set back the clock on Days of Future Past, so a lot could have changed from that point in 1973 forward, meaning people could have been born earlier," Kinberg said. "The whole world changed after those events. Things that were represented even X1 and X2 and X3 wouldn't have happened in quite the same way."

Warren Worthington III, otherwise known as Angel, served as Death for Apocalypse in the comics and was one of the more famous members. While Angel showed up in The Last Stand, Kinberg has also shown a willingness to bring back characters already seen in previous X-Men and his comments say that he still feels that way.

While it was rumored that Hugh Jackman's Wolverine could be a villain also, Angel could be joining him as another Horseman. It will be interesting if they decide to bring back Foster to play the role, but more likely, they will find someone new and younger to fill the part.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to hit theaters on May 27, 2016.

Hemlock Grove Season 2 Interview With Famke Janssen

$

Famke Janssen adds immediate credibility to any project she works on.

While she would never admit it herself, the personable actress has one of the most impressive resumes in Hollywood, establishing herself as a powerhouse on both the big and small screens and offers an instant presence to Netflix’s Hemlock Grove.

Arguably best known for her role as Jean Grey in the X-Men movie franchise, Famke has garnered critical acclaim for her portrayal of Olivia on the series which recently premiered its sophomore season.

Hemlock Grove debuted last year and the horror-thriller is based on the 2012 book novel by Brian McGreevy. Both the book and the series are set in the fictional Hemlock Grove, Pennsylvania, a place known for its clear class distinction where you are either really rich or simply struggling to make ends meet. The town’s main sources of employment are the Hemlock Acres Hospital and the Godfrey Institute for Biomedical Technologies.

The story primarily revolves around Roman Godfrey (Bill Skarsgard), heir to the town’s wealthy Godfrey family, and his friendship with the town’s gypsy newcomer Peter Romancek (Landon Liboiron). In the first season, the reluctant and new-age crimefighting duo work together to solve a series of brutal murders that are being committed by a Vargulf (a mentally insane werewolf). Along the way, they not only discover secrets about themselves, but about all the people around them as well.

On the series, Janssen plays Olivia Godfrey. An upir (vampire), Godfrey’s primary function on the show is to guide her reluctant son, Roman, on the path that he was always destined to walk along. Despite his resistance, his mother is the only one who is fully aware of what he is capable of and their strained relationship is the core of the series. Olivia is manipulative, conniving, demanding and despicable but strangely also has a layer of likeability to her as well. The multifaceted character tows the line between being a vicious villain to an overprotective mother, displaying no real disparity between the two. The character is deliciously complex and, as a result, is the perfect role for Janssen to sink her teeth into.

I recently caught up with Famke Janssen to discuss how much the show has changed in its second incarnation from its first. I asked her about how Olivia redeemed herself at the end of the first season and whether this search for righteousness will continue in Hemlock Grove’s second season. In general we chatted about how the second season primarily devotes itself to humanizing its characters and making them much easier to relate to. Janssen talked about Olivia’s relationship with her son in great detail and also previewed the addition of Madeline Brewer (Orange Is The New Black) to the cast as well. With the crazy storyline twists that happen in every episode, I asked Janssen which script stunned her the most. Finally, I pitched her on an idea for a new character for the show’s third season.

'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' to Become Self-Help Book

Dennis, Dee, Mac, Frank and Charlie from Always Sunny have already taught us plenty of things: how to sing a cappella, how to excel at the game of Flip Cup, and how not to act on a first date, for example. Since they’re so good at teaching people how to live their lives, they’ve written a self-help book, which will be released in January. (It’s available for pre-order on Amazon now.)

The book is called It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: The 7 Secrets of Awakening the Highly Effective Four-Hour Giant, Today. Based on the description, it’s actually a bit hard to tell if it’s really a self-help book, or if it’s simply a book outlining the story of the gang writing a self-help book:

The Gang may have finally found their golden ticket. Left alone to close down Paddy’s Pub one night, Charlie Kelly inadvertently scored himself, and his friends, the opportunity of a lifetime—a book deal with a real publishing company, real advance money, and a real(ly confused) editor. While his actual ability to read and write remains unclear, Charlie sealed the deal with some off-the-cuff commentary on bird law and the nuances of killing rats (and maybe with the help of some glue fumes in the basement with an unstable editor on a bender). While The Gang is stunned by the news, and the legally binding, irrevocable contract left on the bar, they are also ready to rise to the task and become millionaires—and of course, help Charlie actually write the book.

But further details suggest that the book will indeed include some real advice:

In their own inimitable voices, Charlie, Mac, Dennis, Sweet Dee, and Frank weigh in on important topics like Relationships, Financial Success and Career, Fashion and Personal Grooming, Health and Diet, and Survival Skills, providing insane advice, tips, tricks, and recipes (Rum Ham anyone?) as only they can.

We already knew they were crab people — now we also know they’re book people.

Downton Abbey season 5, for those who still love this beautiful mess

$

First of all, ITV has released their drama trailer which features several shows including a few short and very vague clips about Downton Abbey.

Link

If like me, you’re a big fan of Dame Maggie Smith, then you will welcome this news. In her role as the Dowager Countess in Downton Abbey, she has been nothing short of sublime, but there have been times when she has been rather underused.

Last season saw her involved more, particularly in the storyline surrounding Edith’s illegitimate baby, and we also watched as she battled illness and was nursed back to health by Isobel Crawley. Now executive producer to the show, Gareth Neame, has told TV Line we can look forward to much more of our favourite cranky Granny with the witty one liners.

He didn’t reveal much, just that “She has a brilliant storyline this season. It’s Downton at its best, this storyline. It’s fantastic,”(stay vague bro) but that’s good enough for me.

While the Dowager Countess has provided us with some fantastic comedy moments, it is the drama that Smith really delivers in her role, and I look forward to seeing more of that.

Link

- Anna wonders about going to place where no one knows her and Mr. Bates. Later, Mr. Bates promises her that nothing bad will happen to her and they'll grow old together, surrounded by their children.

-A bon mot from the Dowager Countess: "I warn you being tested does not bring out the best in me."

- Lady Edith is obviously heartsick over her daughter being with the tenant farmers, the Drews. Mr. Drew tells her to find a way to live with the truth without telling the truth.

- Lady Rose has a suitor (surprise, surprise).

-One of the wonderful exchanges between Lady Violet and cousin Isobel, in regards to Lord Merton: Isobel: "He wants something from me I cannot give," to which Violet says, "He wants what every man wants. ... Don't be ridiculous, I was referring to companionship. I hope you were."

- We will meet a man from Lady Violet's past. Woo woo.

- Charles Blake makes a great play for Lady Mary, referring to Tony Gillingham when he says, "Nothing would make me happier than seeing you happy, but please be absolutely sure before you decide. You're cleverer than he is. That might have worked in the last century, when ladies had to hide their brains behind good manners and good breeding, but not now."(Also Mary says sex, and I'm utterly scandalized)

- Tom continues to struggle with living in the aristocracy versus his more modest roots. But Sarah Bunting is still around and in fact gets invited to dinner at the estate.

On the most important matter, the trailer gives no clue whether Mr. Carson (Jim Carter) and Mrs. Hughes (Phyllis Logan) will move beyond the heartwarming scene at the end of season four when she took his hand as they waded into the water.

“I think everyone hopes they will get together,” Allen Leech, who plays Tom Branson, told television writers here. “That would be a lovely story.”

Executive producer Gareth Neame quickly moved to short-circuit that speculation by joking, “They have a huge fight and it’s all over.”

It does not seem to be over for Branson and the village schoolteacher, Sarah Bunting (Daisy Lewis), whose friendship has troubled Lord Grantham (Hugh Bonneville). The trailer gives no indication how far, if anywhere, Tom and Sarah might progress.

Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) seems to still be juggling two panting suitors, Lord Gillingham (Tom Cullen) and Charles Blake (Julian Ovenden).

Dockery more or less confirmed this, saying, “Mary’s over her grief and embracing her new life.”

That includes a cryptic conversation with Blake in which she casually asks whether some unspecified preceding exchange means “love or sex.”

On the darker side, the trailer suggests that the issue of whether Mr. Bates (Brendan Coyle) killed Mr. Green (Nigel Harman) for raping his wife, Anna (Joanne Froggatt), was not resolved after all at the end of last season.

Lady Mary burned a piece of evidence that could have made Bates a suspect. But she clearly did not burn the storyline.

The dark story upstairs seems to swirl around Edith (Laura Carmichael). Who else?

Viewers will remember she went to Switzerland last year to have the baby fathered by Michael Gregson (Charles Edwards).

After Gregson disappeared, Edith brought the baby back to Downton to be raised by tenant farmer Tim Drewe (Andrew Scarborough). The trailer indicates that this situation brings all the complications every viewer knew it would.

And oh, by the way, Gregson is still missing. Carmichael shook her head vigorously when asked if she could reveal whether he’ll return.

miss A’s Suzy Sexually Harassed at a Public Event. JYP Doesn't Care

(OP Note: Suzy is really famous actress/singer in South Korea. She is a member of the Korean/Chinese girl group Miss A. JYP is her management company)

On July 26, miss A’s Suzy attended the opening ceremony for the ‘Sinchon Water Gun Festival’ in Changchun-dong, in order to participate in the ‘Sprite Shower’ countdown, as the endorsement model for Sprite.

However, after fan-taken videos from the festival were uploaded onto the Internet, fans were shocked to find footage of what appears to be Suzy being inappropriately touched by a man standing next to her. They began to point out that one of the event moderators standing next to the miss A member on stage seemed to brush his hand against Suzy’s thigh and butt two times.

Following the spread of these accusations, many of the fans stated that it was most likely an intentional action on the part of the accused and are currently demanding an explanation as well as an apology from the event coordinator.

Due to the growing controversy surrounding this event, Suzy’s agency, JYP Entertainment, stepped forward to state their position.

On July 27, a representative of JYPE told X Sports News, “The agency is understanding that this situation was not a big deal. After we assess more carefully, we will inform you of anything more that needs to be shared.” According to JYP Entertainment, as far as they know, the alleged sexual harassment seems not to have taken place.

Additionally, an official who was at the scene explained, “The moderator brushed her in the process of guiding Suzy forward.”

However, fans remain unconvinced that the actions of the man were purely an accident, due to footage capturing a moment in which Suzy’s facial expression hardens as she turns her head to look toward the MC, causing these allegations to arise. Video clips of this event are currently spreading throughout online communities and other SNS.

TV Horror News: 'Evil Dead' TV Series in Works; R.L. Stine's 'The Haunting Hour' Renewed

More than three decades after the horror classic The Evil Dead sprang forth from The Book of the Dead to spawn two sequels and a 2013 reboot, the franchise will return as a TV series. The original movie's writer and director, Sam Raimi, has teamed with his brother Ivan and the original trilogy's star, Bruce Campbell, to write the series, according to Bloody Disgusting. More exciting for horror fans is the fact that Campbell confirmed to a fan on Twitter that he intended to star in the series, or at least "that's the plan."
Campbell made an appearance in the 2013 Evil Dead reboot in a scene after the credits, lifting his head from the darkness and saying his classic line from The Evil Dead II, "Groovy," after a voice-over recited this portentous line from the first film: "I have seen the dark shadows moving in the woods and I have no doubt that whatever I have resurrected through this book is sure to come calling for me." Bloody Disgusting suggests that the cameo foreshadowed Campbell's return to the film series, though currently no other film sequels appear to be in the works.
Raimi made the announcement at San Diego Comic-Con, where he was discussing the movie adaptation of the horror video game The Last of Us, which he is producing. Neil Druckmann, who wrote the game's plot, is working on the game's screenplay; the director and cast for the project have yet to be announced.

The preview begins with Sonja Morgan well — being Sonja. The stunning businesswoman is shown getting ready and trying to figure out what kind of bra to wear!

Heather Thomson had positive guess as how reunion would go. “I think there will be a lot of laughter on the couch this season. I think we had a lot of fun, there are a lot of very true friendships on the show, although you don’t see that in all the women.”

Ramona on the other hand, already knew the women were going to give her a hard time. “I know that I’m going to get flack for the Berkshires, the bottom line is that I left because Kristen was having like a hard on still for me. She wasn’t giving up her upsetness with me, which ok, but I’m an adult, if I want to leave, I can leave.”

Newcomer, Kristen Taekman, always seems to keep things positive, and sweetly only wanted to see the girls get along with Aviva again. “I would like to see some resolution with Aviva. Why she threw her leg at all of us at La Sur, a whole like limb removal.”

LuAnn de Lesseps, a seasoned pro at reunions, delivered the best line. “If you thought it was crazy to see Aviva put her leg on the table, wait till you see the reunion.”
