A familiar face made a surprise appearance in Jeremy Scott's very 90s-centric collection last night. Don't have a cow, man, but I really would like a pair of these Bart Simpson stockings — and maybe that Bartman sweater, too!

Teaser trailer for "The Devil's Carnival"

Darren Bousman is back in musical horror mode.

The director behind the cult hit Repo: The Genetic Opera has been working on a thematic follow-up to Repo titled The Devil’s Carnival, a 55-minute musical set in Hell.

Some of the Repo cast returns for the project, such as Paul Sorvino and Alexa Vega, but there are plenty of new faces, led by Jessica Lowndes, Sean Patrick Flannery, Ivan Moody, Mark Center and rockers Clown (from the band Slipknot) and Emilie Autumn.

Terrence Zduninch, who co-wrote Repo, also wrote the music for Carnival with Saar Hendelman.

Bousman describes Carnival as being “more accessible than Repo but also a lot darker than Repo,” and says it will follow Repo in the way it reaches audiences: by going on the road.

Bousman is planning a 30-city rock tour beginning in April, turning venues into environments that tie to the movie and that will encourage audience participation. There will also be a 13-song album that gets released.

Website TheDevilsCarnival.com should have more details and officially debuts the teaser tonight but Heat Vision beat the Devil to get this first look.

Celebs you didn't know with some black heritage

In the spirit of Black History Month here are a few celebrities who you might not have guessed had some black ancestry...

Pete Wentz

Yes – you heard right! Pete Wentz of former Fall Out Boy-fame is indeed quarter black (Jamaican) on his mother’s side. That would explain his affinity for reggae music, even going as far as starting a band, and rocking Bob Marley apparel almost incessantly. Wentz has once said in an interview that his mother (and her family) is from Jamaica. Not to mention, he is distant relatives with 65th United States Secretary of State Colin Powell who is of course Afro-Jamaican.

Wentworth Miller

Actor and dual citizen Wentworth Miller from Prison Break-fame is quite multicultural judging from his official bio, having a father who is African-American, Jamaican, English, German, Jewish and Cherokee and a mother who is Russian, French, Dutch, Syrian and Lebanese ancestry.

Kris Humphries

NBA player and reality TV star Kris Humphries is most notable for his short-term marriage with his ex-wife, socialite Kim Kardashian. But what most people do not know about him is the African-American ancestry he holds from his father William Humphries whose mother was Irish which explains the eyes.

Dwayne Johnson

There have been many on-going debates about actor Dwayne Johnson aka “The Rock” of wrestling-fame and his ethnicity. Well it turns out Rock is African-Canadian and Samoan. The Journey 2-actor is son to retired pro-wrestler Rocky Johnson, the first black pro-wrestling champion, and a mother who is Samoan.

Vin Diesel

Actor Vin Diesel of the Fast and Furious franchise is another whose ethnicity seem almost ambiguous to tell but the Riddick-actor considers himself “Multiracial” even though his official bio states that he is half African-American and half Italian American making him bi-racial.

Cash Warren

At first glance, you would think that Cash Warren, actress Jessica Alba’s husband, was of just white descent but he is actually the son of famous African-American actor Michael Warren, whose wife was white, making Cash bi-racial as well.

Westboro To Protest Whitney's Funeral Because She "Stole God's Glory"

The Newark area Wal-Mart has likely been depleted of its poster board and Sharpie stash as the Westboro Baptist Church members in town will be up all night producing offensive misspelled signs to display at Whitney Houston's funeral on Saturday.

Marjie Phelps, the Topeka-based hate clan's publicist and daughter of the founder, revealed the plans via Twitter. "Yay! 2 pickets in NJ-Whitney Houston funeral & [legislature]," wrote Marjie. Though the real reason behind the protest is always the same (publicity!), Marjie claims that Westboro is disgusted with Whitney for "stealing God's glory." Whatever that means.

Also, Marjie teased the release of Westboro's next single that's sure to top the iTunes charts: "God Will Always Hate You, Whitney." Charming, right? Luckily, Kevin Costner will be on hand in case he needs to reprise his Bodyguard role.

Whitney's funeral is scheduled to take place Saturday at noon eastern. People Magazine will broadcast the service on its website starting in the a.m.

Grab your friends and come on in! Yes, even the one that can be annoying.... you know you love him anyway

1. She’s pregnant. It’s still early but she’ll start to show soon. And she’s happy, they’re both happy, but also really, really freaking out. Because around the time of conception, they were both using rather frequently. It’s just what they do together. Besides, she thought she was past the point of another child. So it was a surprise, to say the least. A pleasant one, yes, but she’s not sure if it’s one she wants to keep. She is convinced the child will not be right. She is convinced, in her mind, in her words, that she’ll “be paying for it” for the rest of her life, in the form of care and stress, and that this will be her punishment for such recklessness – to be attached to a kid that will need her, in ways she’s afraid to imagine, forever. She’s also super paranoid that if she does have their baby and the baby has health problems, he’ll turn and blame her, and be disgusted by her, and leave her. Without all his access, it’s a totally different life. And ultimately she still wants to be desired, she prioritises being desired. It’s a decision she is agonising over but she’s running out of time. The good news? The drugs have stopped completely. Lainey Gossip
My Guess: Paula Patton and Robin Thicke seems to be the most popular guess...

2. This C list boy-bander who was once a much bigger star, is not only struggle with substance abuse. He’s struggling with fidelity. He is recently cheated on his girlfriend by having a one night stand with his stepsister. Buzz Foto
My Guess: Nick Carter? In any case, YIKES...

3. Maybe orgy is the wrong word to describe what happened on the making of this movie, but there was certainly lots of rampant sex going on. It all started with an A list movie actress at the time who was starring in a franchise and wanted to keep her glory. She hated doing this movie, but she was committed so decided to make the best of it. For her, this meant having as much sex and doing as many drugs as possible while making the movie. Every co-star was fair game and when one actor thought he was the one she found special, he would be replaced and a new one brought in. She was the goddess of the movie and acted like it. She was a way larger star than any other actor on the film, primarily because she was charging so much to be in it that there was no budget for anyone else.

Besides having sex with the actors on the set, she also brought in an old co-star who was still hanging on to his A list acting fame at the time. An Academy Award winner he dropped by the set and the next thing you know, the pair were in his hotel room and not her trailer. He was with his now wife at the time, but he had wanted the goddess when they had last made a movie together and she had turned him down. This time he was having her, marriage be damned.

Oh, there was the B list movie actress with the alliteration for a name who stopped by one day and they reunited after a few years apart. This actress has played in some very steamy roles of her own.

There was one actor, now a B- list who claimed he had never had sex with a woman before. Men yes, but not women so our goddess had to have him. She did. Now he is married to a B list actress. CDAN
My Guess: For some reason I'm thinking Angelina Jolie and the filming of Alexander...she had just done the Tomb Raider movies franchise. Or it could be Halle Berry and the X-Men movies with the actress with an alliteration name being Rebecca Romijn. This one is tough I honestly don't know but it sounds saucy!

WHAT'S UP FRIDAY NIGHT?? Any big plans ONTD party people? I'm going out with a bunch of my gay friends and we'll probably end up at some bar with half naked men dancing on tables until 4am. No complaints here. But if a dancer tries to touch my hair again without asking I swear I will snap his g-string so hard...

Chris Cornell, Soundgarden Frontman, Scolds Airport Businessman For Gay Slur

Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell is being praised by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights advocates after he scolded a businessman who used an anti-gay slur in an airport.

The New York Post cites witnesses who say Cornell spoke out when a man "called another man a queer when he overheard him make a pro-Obama statement" in the Alaska Airlines lounge at Seattle Airport. "Cornell stepped up in the packed lounge and slammed the guy for making anti-gay comments," the report states.

Cornell is said to have then declared, "You're a prick. You deliberately called him a queer to make him feel uncomfortable in front of a lot of people."

The other passenger and some Alaska reps thanked Cornell for his help and intervention, Perez Hilton noted.

As it turns out, Cornell was on his way to San Francisco, where he performed at a benefit concert to raise funds for President Obama's re-election campaign. At that performance, he wowed the crowd by paying tribute to Whitney Houston with an acoustic cover of the late diva's hit "I Will Always Love You."

Gosling questions hound McAdams

$
0
0

"Only questions about the movie!"

That's what Rachel McAdams' handlers told a press scrum before the Hollywood screening of her new romantic flick, The Vow, with Channing Tatum. What the handlers were really telling the entertainment media was: "No questions about Ryan Gosling!"

Since her once better half has become the "It person" of the entire world, there's no escaping the rather rude questions McAdams has been peppered with by the American press.

Instead of, "Oh, Rachel, can you tell us how you liked working with Channing?" Or "Rachel, what's your favourite designer of the moment?" Even, "Rachel, what's in your bag?" -- the only thing tabloid reporters want to ask her about is Ryan Gosling.

Never mind that McAdams and Gosling broke up more than five years ago and she's been happily steady with actor Michael Sheen for two years.

So, despite the warnings at The Vow screening, these are some of the questions that were screamed at the 33-year-old star of such films as Midnight in Paris, Mean Girls, The Notebook (yes, that's where she met Gosling), The Time Traveller's Wife, Sherlock Holmes and Morning Glory.

"Hey Rachel! What do you think of Ryan dating Eva Mendes? Does it make you jealous?" asked one.

"Rachel, hey, over here!" shouted another. "Rachel, do you think you'll ever get back together with Ryan?"

And this one: "Wait a minute, Rachel! How much better was it kissing Ryan in The Notebook than Channing in The Vow?"

McAdams smiled, waved, walked the red carpet, stopped for photos -- and ignored the questions.

While print media doesn't scream inappropriate questions at her about Gosling, they're still asking -- but in a sneakier way. For instance, in last month's Glamour interview, McAdams was asked about Gosling's huge popularity and the "blogs upon blogs" being written about him.

Glamour: "I've heard you don't read your press. Do you read about other people?"

Rachel McAdams: "Not really, no."

Glamour: "So you're not aware that Ryan Gosling has become a huge feminist icon?"

Rachel McAdams: "Feminist icon?"

New Emma Watson Interview

$

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Emma Watson looks surprisingly grown-up, I think, when I meet her at the Savoy Hotel.

Reclining on a plush cream sofa with short, slicked hair and red lips, wearing a fitted black cocktail dress, she is every inch the sophisticated socialite. Poor Emma Watson, I then counter immediately, having constantly to prove to people like me that she isn't 11-years-old any more.

Her new role as the face of Lancôme's "Rouge in Love" lipstick range will go some way towards changing that view – shot by Mario Testino, the campaign captures her youthful vitality in a new and chic, gamine expression. It's rather more urbane and quite apart from the reputation for precociousness that the Harry Potter franchise – fairly or not – has foisted upon her.

"As I've got older, and since I cut all my hair off, I've felt a bit more liberated about trying different things out," she smiles, when I suggest she has successfully shaken off the fetters of having played a gawky teenage witch for a decade. "I think there's this idea that lipstick is something quite old or something you'd only wear at night. The nice thing about these is that they're really translucent, like a tinted lip balm, so you can wear them in a more casual way."

If she sounds like a professional, that's because she has been one for the majority of her 21 years. Picked from thousands to play Hermione Granger at the age of nine, after eight auditions for producer David Heyman, Watson is now – eight films later – rumoured to be worth £43m. She signed a contract with Lancôme in April to feature in the commercial for its Trésor Midnight Rose fragrance, and has been at Selfridges all day to promote the brand's latest launch of lipstick and nail varnish.

"Make-up is actually something I've always really loved," she continues. "The hair and make-up department on the Potter films were the people who saw me first thing in the morning and last thing at night, so that space was somewhere I felt at home. When we had spare time on set, I'd do their make-up and get them to teach me how to do stuff." Make-up artist on the films Amanda Knight remembers Watson making up extras for crowd scenes, too, but Watson has today left it to the professionals. "I haven't had my make-up done for two or three months," she says, as if expecting me to say, "No way!" I raise my eyebrows and she laughs. "I know! But it's really weird for me because I used to have it done every day. So it felt like a treat today."

She refers regularly to privileges and treats, to feeling lucky and counting her blessings, and she doesn't seem troubled or distracted by the host of opportunities available to her. She is studying English at Oxford, on a secondment from the American Ivy League campus Brown.

"It's just given me time, really," she says. "People use their time at university and at school, which I didn't have, to really think about and figure out what they want to do, and who they want to be. And it's been so nice not to be pushed around or pushed into doing things."

In fact, Watson has carefully peppered her career with choices that pertain very closely to her own interests, putting her name to a collection for eco-fashion range People Tree as well as partnering with designer Alberta Ferretti to work on a "Pure Threads" ethical line too. Her next film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, will be released later this year. She paints and reads books. She has, she tells me guiltily, a university essay to hand in the next day, not yet finished.

"Doing the Potters was such a bubble," she says, "and then having to figure out how to function in the real world has been a challenge. But it's been the small successes for me: I know how to use a washing machine, I can cook. It's worth it to me not to feel disconnected from everything, feeling like I'm in touch with people who do other things than acting or being in the entertainment industry."

In a few hours, she will host the Lancôme pre-Baftas party, posing in a crimson lace Valentino dress for the world's cameras. But for the moment, she has her bare feet hooked up underneath her and is fiddling with her BlackBerry; she looks at the basil plant poking out of my shopping bag and wonders what I'm having for dinner. She is terribly normal – if elfishly beautiful – in her rendition of a well-brought-up young woman.

"I think humour has been a help," she says. "I have schoolfriends, a group of people around me, who have carried me through this whole experience and aren't fazed if they ask, 'Oh what are you doing tomorrow?' and I say, 'I'm going up to see Mario [Testino] in Notting Hill, he's shooting me for the new Lancôme campaign.' I don't know – it is mad, and some days I feel a bit mad, but it's the balance that keeps me sane. I don't fully live it, this side of my life."

Watson is sanguine about the attention she receives and is logical about it; she plans to travel more now that she has a more lax schedule, and talks about going to the post office, buying milk, getting the Tube, though I can't believe for a minute that she is actually able to do these things fuss-free. "Some days, for some reason, I can't go anywhere and I'm like, 'That was a mistake,' and other days no one will even notice me."

There was a time, though, towards the end of the Potter franchise, when Watson came of age and began appearing on front rows at shows such as Chanel and Burberry, in whose billboard campaigns she featured along with her younger brother in 2009. "I was fully game for 'Throw me in this, throw me in that,'" she admits, "but I'd like to develop my own sense of style, and dress for myself. The press destroyed me over this Rodarte dress I once wore – it was bright blue with chains on it." She laughs and shivers slightly. "I loved it. And I wore a leather Christopher Kane dress with embroidered flowers all over it. It wasn't that crazy, but at the time..."

She seems to have ridden out the post-Potter publicity admirably, though. "Fashion gave me a chance to feel like I was something outside of Potter," she explains, of her appearances front row at shows such as Chanel and Burberry. "I'm a multidimensional person and that's the freedom of fashion: that you're able to reinvent yourself through how you dress and how you cut your hair or whatever."

Her haircut was, of course, an international sensation, and turned into a global debate. Was it a good idea, did she regret it, why did she do it? Watson faced compliments and criticism in equal measure, staggeringly so. This was more than the average celeb 'do and more like a cultural event: Potter fans were horrified, while the fashion industry discreetly applauded the severing of Hermione's bookish locks.

"I had journalists asking me if this meant I was coming out, if I was a lesbian now." She rolls her eyes. "That haircut did make me realise how subjective everyone's opinion is. Some people were crazy for it and some people just thought I'd lost my shit. All I can do is follow my instincts, because I'll never please everyone."
