John Legend reveals why he eats a salad for breakfast everyday

After an appointment with his doctor, John Legend, 40, had a wake up call and started eating salads for breakfast. “My doctor told me that I needed more antioxidants in my diet because I had hereditary cholesterol issues, and he told me that adding vegetables was a good way to address it, so I started having something green with every meal,” Legend told PEOPLE. “Breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

So what kind of salad? “Leafy with a little vinaigrette. Not much else,” said Legend. The change was a surprise for his wife Chrissy Teigen. “The shock has worn off, but when I started doing it she was like, ‘What are you doing?’” he says while laughing.

Hi haters and doubters, Andre Aciman wrote the sequel to 'Call Me by Your Name', which is called 'Find Me', and it's set for release this fall, on October 29, 2019. Here's a summary:

The sequel, titled Find Me, will pick up after Elio's father, Samuel, has divorced. He travels from Florence to Rome to visit Elio, who has become a respected classical pianist. The book will see Samuel have a "chance encounter" on a train that provokes changes in his life, Elio moving to Paris and having a "consequential affair" and Oliver, now a professor in New England, considering returning to Europe after his sons are grown.

So there you go. There's the title. No word yet on the film's adaptation and production, but that'll be years down the line, with actors Armie Hammer, Timothée Chalamet, and Michael Stuhlbarg returning, and Luca Guadagnino directing.

The not-so-good sis Babs has spoken out in support of Michael Jackson's alleged victims, but blames Robson's and Safechuck's parents for allowing their children to sleep at the singer's home.

But wait! She also went on to say...

‘His sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he has or whatever DNA he has. ‘You can say “molested”, but those children, as you heard say [the grown-up Robson and Safechuck], they were thrilled to be there. They both married and they both have children, so it didn’t kill them.'

We all have misinterpreted “the scream” 😱

The scream, painted by Edvard Munch, is one of the most famous art works in the world and even inspired a horror movie franchise. It depicts what appears to be a screaming figure, however this is apparently wrong.

Curators at the British Museum found a lithography of it with a tiny commentary from the author stating that the figure heard an exceptionally loud scream from nature and it is actually covering its ears fearfully.

This finally puts and end to the debate over whether The Scream shows a man screaming or hearing a scream that has raged on for decades

🌈 Wilson Cruz for Attitude (+Anthony Rapp) on Dr Hugh Culber's Trauma, Recovery, and Culmets 🌈

https://instagram.com/p/BvE3T8IAtfO

-Dr Hugh Culber (Wilson Cruz) and Lt Commander Paul Stamets (Anthony Rapp) are the first openly gay main characters in the Trek TV franchise
-Wilson says of the new Culber: "I needed the audience to understand that this person was broken by what had happened to him, so that when we did get him back onto this plane that they understood the real consequences and circumstances that he was living under."
-He stresses that this is JUST the beginning of a healing process to be explored in more detail
-Whilst not addressing hate-based violence in the show, the character’s experience with violence, demonization and trauma (and survival of trauma) is familiar territory for irl LGBTQ+ people, as well as the disproportionate impact on us by mental health conditions such as depression and PTSD
-Cruz hopes that by the end of Season 2, Dr Culber can provide "an example of resilience" for LGBTQ+ people who have survived violence and trauma. "That's who we are as a people," he said. "If you look at the history of LGBTQ people in this country and also around the world historically, there's example after example of when we have been attacked and murdered and marginalized and erased, and we find a way out of that."
-Cruz also portrayed Rickie Vasquez on ‘My So-Called Life’ 25 years ago, becoming the first openly gay actor to portray a gay role on a major American tv series, and quickly saw his opportunities for work dry up, especially as an LGBTQ+ man of colour, and had personal and professional struggles that came out of that, but feels now is the time to be bold and confident and push for more, and keep on pushing forward.
-He will continue to advocate to do even more on Disco, on which he hopes that Dr Culber will be a "guiding light" for those suffering from mental health issues and struggles of their own. "I think it's important to see and be reminded that those moments can be and are temporary — and that we can see our way out of that darkness to a better day, a better time."

Disney-Fox "merger" could cost up to 4,000 jobs across both companies, many Fox execs already fired

$

Thanks to Rupert Murdoch being an obsolete asshole, plus Disney's need for omnipresence, we're now left with the super-conglomerate that will truly rule the entertainment industry.

But of course that will come with its (endless) pitfalls. The most short-term will, of course, be layoffs. LOTS of layoffs - as many as 4,000 people will lose their job thanks to the Disney/Fox merger.

So far:
-- FOX has laid off top staff in the SVP, EVP, and president levels, including domestic distribution head Chris Aronson, Heather Phillips, EVP and head of domestic publicity, and Mike Dunn, president of product strategy and consumer business development, and many top marketing positions.
-- FOX TV is now being hit, with 20th Century Fox Television Distribution president Mark Kaner being given the boot (note that he headed the division since 1994, yikes).
-- A list of those in top positions who still have their jobs (mostly at Disney) can be found here: https://variety.com/2019/film/news/disney-leadership-fox-layoffs-1203169772/
-- All positions at Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, Lucasfilm and Marvel remain the same; no one's lost jobs there, to no surprise.
-- The atmosphere at the FOX lot in LA has been akin to a funeral (no surprise), with execs (the ones still with jobs) holed in up their offices, while regular employees fret about their future. Said an exec from another studio:

“We’ve been sitting around my desk, refreshing the articles and waiting for the next head to roll. It’s morbid, but these are our friends.”

Mayor Pete Buttigieg from South Bend, Indiana is running for president. He talks about how we need to focus less on Donald Trump and focus more on voters' issues.

Sunny grills him on his stance on cash reparations for African-Americans.

There is speculation that Joe Biden will announce his presidential run along with his VP pick, Stacey Abrams. Joy speculates that Biden will aim for a one-term presidency before handing off the reins to Abrams. The co-hosts think this is a very presumptuous move.

George Conway, Kellyanne's husband, was in the news for criticizing Trump. It appears that she's taking Trump's side over her own husband's.

The co-hosts defend John McCain and call out the Republican party, particularly Lindsey Graham, for still sticking by Trump. Meghan says not to feel sorry for her.
