Biggest changes between Netflix's The Umbrella Academy and its comic counterpart *Spoilers*

-Netflix's adaption of The Umbrella Academy premiered this past Friday and with any adaption comes changes from the source material. TUA is a story of a dysfunctional family of superheroes comes together to solve the mystery of their father's death, the threat of the apocalypse and more.


Number.6

-In the comics, Number.6 aka Ben Hargreeves dies before the series starts and is only seen in the flashbacks.
-In the show, they keep the characters death before the series starts the same but he sticks around in the present day as a ghost companion to his adoptive brother Klaus.

The Commission

-In the comics, the Time Agency that Number 5 ends up joining in the future is known as Temps Aeternalis and his boss is a fish that he ends up eating to exact his revenge.
-The show changed Temps Aeternalis name to The Commission and changed out the goldfish for The Handler played by Kate Walsh.

Cha Cha & Hazel

-In the comics Cha Cha & Hazel are faceless time-traveling assassins who dont have much personality outside of being sociopaths.
-The show not only expanded upon them as characters but gave them faces to go along with it.

The world of the Umbrella Academy
-In the comics, the world that TUA takes place in is a lot more fantastical with other superheroes and villains along with aliens.
-The Netflix series drastically tones down the world that the TUA live in. They seem to be the only super powered individuals in the world, there are no super intelligent goldfish or aliens.

Ariana Grande's New Album "Thank U, Next" Sets Multiple Streaming Records

- Ariana Grande currently has 12 of her songs on the U.S. Spotify charts.
- "7 rings" leads the way, with over 3.85 million streams. "break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored" came in at #2 with 3.50 million, ahead of "needy" (#3, 3.00 million) and "NASA" (#4, 2.95 million).
- Fans haven't stopped streaming the album since it's release on Feb. 8 and it doesn't look like it'll slow down anytime soon.
- Last year, Grande earned her first No. 1 album on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her fourth album, Sweetener.


- Apple said the album has set multiple records on their streaming service.
- Thank U, Next has scored the highest debut of any female artist in any genre on Apple Music within the first 24 hours of an album's release. (Sorry, Taylor.)

Tonight Carly Rae Jepsen will be singing the Canadian National Anthem at the NBA All Star Game. When this news first trickled into the r/NBA subreddit, which usually only discuss games, trades, and stats, something sorta wholesome happened. Most NBA fans and straights came together and agreed that Carly Rae Jepsen was great and E•MO•TION one of the best pop albums. Comments include:

-Some models included Christina Ricci and Theodora Richards

Jussie Smollett's case to go to Grand Jury

According to the source, a Grand Jury will be hearing the case of Empire actor Jussie Smollett early next week according to Chicago law enforcement.

Law enforcement has also gone on to say that the two brothers who were arrested have been released and are being watched by the police to make sure that Jussie and no one contacts them. Police have raided the home of the brothers and found missing pages of magazines they're trying to see can be linked to the threatening letters Jussie received 8 days prior to his attack.

Jussie and his lawyer continue to deny the attack was staged and maintain that he was indeed a victim of a hate crime.

Benedict Cumberbatch will play Satan in Good Omens

Benedict Cumberbatch is joining the cast of Good Omens as Satan, showrunner Neil Gaiman announced last Wednesday during the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

The cast includes David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Frances McDormand, Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, and Miranda Richardson. The show will be streamed on Amazon starting May 31.

Gaiman adapted the show himself from his 1990 novel about a demon and an angel who band together in the face of the impending apocalypse.

Los Angeles Times writer Lucas Peterson started a “food controversy” earlier this week when he decided to officially rank most fast food french fries. Of course, not everyone agreed. Lines were drawn, the words “invalid” and “fake news” were used quite frequently and empty fry cartons were thrown at computer screens and mobile devices worldwide.

“That’s right, my friends, I am pleased as punch to announce the authoritative, totally not subjective, incontrovertibly definitive and 100% correct L.A. Times Fast Food French Fry Rankings,” says an overly confident Peterson.

Love After Lockup Discussion Post - "She Has Got to Go"

This was an episode of ups and downs. Sarah and her blaccent is pregnant, her husband Michael is not sure if he should break up with his girlfriend. His mom convinces him to end things with Megan which he plans to do when she visits him. The cinematography of Michael's face as Megan descends down the escalator - Roger Deakins is quaking! Clint must save his goddess who is back in the slamma and finally called after missing two weeks. That poor rental car abandoned and left out in the cold and in the motherfucking crack. Misogylino has a birthday party and his new girlfriend Brittany invites her ex girlfriend Amanda. Amanda brings her new girlfriend, Amanda and some more than likely producer manufactured drama ensued with New Amanda berating Misogylino. Producers you don't need to do this, you're more than enough gutter trash already. It looks like Jazmyne sees that Lizzie is really only with Scott and his uncomfortable new teeth for money, but they'll both find out he ain't got none no mo'. He also gets her a car, but Lizzie has three DUI convictions - fabulous!

In a sad turn of events, we learn that Caitlin's mother passes away unexpectedly and Matt does his best to comfort her. Given Caitlin's openness about the estrangement with her mother, this was quite a hard scene to watch.
