Jessica Stroup (“The Following”) and Tom Pelphrey (“Banshee”) have joined the growing cast of the Netflix original series “Marvel’s Iron Fist” as Joy and Ward Meachum, childhood acquaintances of Danny Rand’s who now play an important role in Rand Enterprises.

The children of Harold Meachum (David Wenham), Joy and Ward have spent their lives building Rand Enterprises to its current standing in the world, only to have all their work put in jeopardy when Danny returns to claim his birthright.

- Constance Wu: “A lot of people’s visions of who they think looks like their hero is rooted in systemic racism....I don’t think it is bad for them to be challenged to think outside their boxes. … I don’t think it will reduce their work for them to think, What if I cast this person as a Latina?“
- Constance Wu: “I think it’s because of the scarcity of roles. If I say this against this executive producer, maybe they wont hire me. Better to say it in private to my friends so that I get employment later.“

Crew members for the Amazon show 'Transparent' are apparently uncomfortable with the unisex gender bathroom on set. Women in particular are apparently worried about seeing men use the urinal. Several crew members are apparently too scared too complain for risk of being labeled transphobic, something that would be a "kiss of death" on set.
