Southcliffe is the first tv project of Sean Durkin (the director of Martha Marcy May Marlene ).The four-part TV drama “Southcliffe” for Channel 4 will center on the aftermath of a number of shootings that all take place in one day as told from the perspective of a journalist who grew up in the small titular market town where they occur. The show is described as “an anthem to ordinary people’s ability to reinvent themselves is the face of ultimate darkness”.
Southcliffe is written by Tony Grisoni (Red Riding), produced by Derrin Schlesinger (Four Lions) for Warp Films,
The cast includes Eddie Marsan (“Sherlock Holmes,Tyrannosaur"), Shirley Henderson ("Harry Potter ), Rory Kinnear (“Quantum of Solace”,Black Mirror), Sean Harris (“Prometheus”), Joe Dempsie (“Game of Thrones”), Kaya Scodelario (“Wuthering Heights”), Nichola Burley ( Wuthering Heights,), Anatol Yusef (“Boardwalk Empire”) .
It will be on Channel 4 in August.
