- Section 377, which outlawed homosexuality was introduced during the British rule has been struck down by the Supreme Court, four years after they overturned a previous judgement.
- The law was first struck down by the Delhi high court in 2009 but was reinstated by the Supreme Court in 2013, after several political, social and religious groups called for its restoration. (Ugh of course)
- Comes a year after a landmark privacy ruling during which the court said "preservation of personal intimacies, the sanctity of family life, marriage, procreation, the home and sexual orientation."
