ONTD Interviews Tyler Shields

Earlier this week, I asked ONTD if they had questions for photographer Tyler Shields.  Well, y'all asked and I come to you with answers!  BTW, if you are in London: Tyler has a show opening up on February 24th at Intimate Modern called "Beyond the Gates."

From warsawedAre you influenced by Terry Richardson? ​Who are other photographers that you'd consider inspiration?
Tyler Shields: No we have some friends in common and they always tell me we could not be more different. To be honest I don¹t look at other peoples work I only know who terry is because people have asked me if I like his work


From fullxcliphxc: How does it feel to be friends with Zachary Quinto? Is it amazing?
TS: He is one of the nicest guys in the world and such a smart guy he also loves it when I run red lights at a high speed which is fun also zachary quintos power animal is a cougar for anyone wondering


From wowthatisminty: We know you're friends with Glee's Jenna Ushkowitz...so where are the half-naked photo shoots of her bestie, Kevin McHale?
TS: Haha kevin and I have been talking about it forever I am not sure why we havnt done it I will send this link to kevin and jenna KEVIN WHATS THE DEAL?

From superdogbiter: What's your favorite animal?
TS: LION


From jordanabevan: What is your artistic justification for solely using women as props in your photography? Why do you frequently use violence against women as your go to form of provocation? 
TS: Women are not props to me if you are a women on one of my shoots you would never feel that way you can ask any of them I give them 100% power when they are tied up or bound they always have the power to me women are the strongest creatures in the world and when they appear vulnerable that¹s just it its only an appearance

From thisampersand: Which other male celeb would you like to photograph in a dress? (And could you pick someone cuter next time?) 
TS: quinto and I talked about doing it steve martin would be funny Shiloh Fernandez or Michael Pitt

From kronos1231: What are your thoughts on Lana Del Rey? If you could shoot her, what would you want to do?
TS: I am listening to her song as I am writing this I want to make it happen a lot of people have been asking me to do it so maybe we get everyone to tweet her and we can get in contact! I would do something epic with her


From glittergunshot: Are you artistically fulfilled with photography or would you like to branch out into something a bit more different than your usual stuff?
TS: I have written 6 novels which will all come out over the next couple years and I am working on directing my first movie I think movies is the next medium I would really enjoy playing with


From the_wolski: You shot photos for the poster of the Inferno Linda Lovelace movie...what happened with Lindsay Lohan?
TS: I think they came to creative differences about a sex scene in the movie and they needed to shoot it at a time when she couldn't shoot it these things happen people drop out of movies all the time but when its lohan everyone is watching on a side note I would have enjoyed seeing that movie


From snapiphany: Which celebrities would you use in a dreamshoot and why?
TS: Nicolas cage kiera knightley floyd mayweather 50 cent bill murray bill clinton justin beiber lea michelle and so many people keep asking me to shoot lady gaga so that would be fun


From fruitariyum: Why don't you work with plus sized models?
TS: I am about to and if there are more out there come find me!


From jamimo: Which celebrity was the most difficult to work with? Any interesting stories?
TS: I shot a band once and the lead singer was so drunk he passed out during the shoot so I duck tapped his head up straight and put sunglasses on him to finish the shoot other then that everyone has been great people come to me if they want to shoot so they are excited about it


From brenden: I'm sure you know what stanning is by now, who do you stan for?
TS: A1 steak sauce is one of my favorite things in the whole world when I travel I have it brought with me


Fromvehiclesshockme: Superman is an alien and Will Smith often makes movies where he kicks alien ass. So who would win in a fight, Will Smith or Superman? (Please note that Superman cannot receive help from the Justice League. Will Smith can however get help from either Tommy Lee Jones or Jeff Goldblum - but not both of them at the same time.)
TS:  I think that if the fight took place in a city will smith would win however if the fight took place in the desert or near a body of water superman would win also in the winter time superman would win even if he was in the city due to the fact that he doesn¹t feel cold and will smith has been known not to stretch properly
