He was a freshman in high school and got caught by secruity attempting to shoplift gay porn at a bookstore:
"My mom and dad saw the nature of the material I was stealing, and that's how I came out. I find it funny now, but at the time it was incredibly traumatizing."
He says his father eventually came around to his sexuality and danced "very happily" at his wedding to Justin Mikita.
