Cinemax has already begun to offer original programming, with Strike Back airing on the premium cable channel, and series like Transporter: The Series and Banshee lined up. While I've heard good things about Strike Back, Alan Ball's Banshee may end up being the series that really lures in new subscribers. The words "From the creator of True Blood and Six Feet Under" should be enough to grab anyone's attention. Though, I'll admit, I swore there was no way I was adding yet another premium cable channel to my already substantial cable bill, watching the new teaser for Banshee does have me wondering if maybe there's some way I might be able to squeeze Cinemax into the budget.
EW posted the news today that Banshee will premiere on Cinemax on January 11, 2013 at 10:00 p.m. The series comes from Alan Ball, Greg Yaitanes (House) and Peter Macdiissi and stars Antony Starr as Lucas Hood, a convict who, according to the latest teaser, just did fifteen years for being the most notorious thief in the country. He has the whole world open to him and he's going to the one place he should not go. And that place has horses and buggies (presumably an Amish population).
