His Mad Men character Don Draper is a cheating ladies' man of the first order.
But actor Jon Hamm looked as far removed from his alter ego as could be imagined as he strolled hand-in-hand with his partner Jennifer Westfeldt in New York today.
The couple have been dating since 1997, but they looked like young lovers as the romantic actor whispered sweet nothings in her ear while they padded down the street.
And it seems the pair were seduced by the real life Mad Men, as they looked to have spent a pretty penny on shopping during their outing.
They were spotted after indulging in some retail therapy at posh department store Barney's, where they were seen shopping for women's clothing.
Gentleman Jon, who surely footed the bill, was dressed in a causal shirt, grey trousers, brown shoes and a baseball cap.
Interestingly, he had decided to go without socks for their excursion in the Big Apple.
Screenwriter and actress Jennifer, who persuaded Jon to appear in her flop directorial début Friends With Kids, looked in fine figure in her modest purple dress.
It seemed like the pair were enjoying a much more relaxed day than when they were robbed in London in June.
The couple were dining at a restaurant when the actress's handbag was stolen, and the thief then used the hotel key inside to rob their hotel room.
Jennifer said: 'What a mess. [I'm not feeling] great. It is under investigation.'
