While Emma Watson spent some time in Bjork's homeland this summer to shoot Darren Aronofsky's upcoming "Noah," she used her time off to scratch a musical itch we didn't really know she had.

Iceland Review reports that Watson spent a day recording with Icelandic musician and composer Ólafur Arnalds, and they were joined by Watson's pal Ben Hammersley. There's no word on if it was just some fun time hanging out around the studio or if these are songs Watson will drop, or what it all may be. Whether or not she joins the ranks of actor/musicians like Ryan Gosling, Russell Crowe, Juliette Lewis or Kevin Bacon is up in the air, but it seems the 22-year-old actress is at least curious about dabbling, and why not? Better now than never. As for Arnalds, he's best known in indie circles, but you may have heard his work on the score to last year's "Another Happy Day" starring Ellen Barkin. So there you go.

Meanwhile, Watson is staying busy as ever, and next month she'll be chatting up press for "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower." The upcoming film, based on the popular book by Stephen Chbosky, follows the titular wallflower Charlie (Logan Lerman), who forms a deep friendship with Sam (Watson) and Patrick (“We Need To Talk About Kevin” star Ezra Miller) who help him break out of his shell and experience the high school life he thought was beyond his reach. Yep, it's one of those films, but with a soundtrack boasting Sonic Youth, David Bowie, Galaxie 500, The Smiths, The Innocence Mission and more, we hope it's a sign that this one has some steel to it.

"The Perks Of Being A Wallflower" premieres at TIFF and opens on September 21st. And help you get in the spirit, here's a batch of new images from the film.
