The entertainment trade news source Variety reported on Wednesday that British actress Charlotte Riley (Easy Virtue, Wuthering Heights) will play a soldier who fights alongside Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt's characters in the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka's Japanese prose novel All You Need Is Kill.
Viz Media published Sakurazaka's novel in English to launch its Haikasoru imprint for Japanese science fiction and fantasy in 2009. The book's cover art was drawn by Yoshitoshi ABe (Serial Experiments Lain, Haibane Renmei).
