Jack White headed up the second of two dates at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium last night (August 11).
The former White Stripes man was accompanied by his all-female band for the gig, a change from Friday night's show, which saw him playing with all-male accompaniment.
White also played at free, secret show at the Mariachi Plaza in East Los Angeles on Friday. The 20 minute long gig in Boyle Heights was announced via Third Man Records' Twitter account an hour before it started at 3.30pm (PST) and White played to a crowd of around 50 fans.
At Saturday's Shrine show White played a host of songs from his debut solo album 'Blunderbuss', as well as a number of songs by The White Stripes, including 'My Doorbell', 'I'm Slowly Turning Into You', 'Ball and Biscuit', a country and western version of 'Hotel Yorba', and set opener, 'Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground' - you can see a short performance of this track in a video below. White and his band also played a rowdy version of 'Seven Nation Army', which saw the 6,000 strong crowd shouting the riff as White sang over the top of it.
Dressed in a suit jacket and waistcoat at the start of the show, White kept banter with the crowd to a minimum, pausing after 'Love Interruption', a duet with singer and backing band member Ruby Amanfu, to ask the crowd, "Los Angeles, are you feeling OK?" adding, "it's day two for us, but you guys live here. It feels good." He then went on to introduce the six member band to the audience, and twice asked the cheering crowd "Are you still with me?".
At the end of the three song encore, White dedicated the show to 82-year-old astronaut Buzz Aldrin, saying: "I love you man, Buzz."

Was his shout-out to Buzz Aldrin supposed to make sense, or am I just too tired/stupid to understand? lol ALSO, what's your favorite Jack White related (White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, etc.) song/album, ONTD?
