Larry Wachowski is now living as Lana

THE Hollywood director responsible for the hit Matrix movies has ‘outed’ himself as a pink-haired transsexual called Lana.
Larry Wachowski, 47, one of the most influential directors in Hollywood after Steven Spielberg, has been undergoing hormone therapy as part of his sex-change treatment for nearly a decade. In a trailer for his latest film, the £80 million production Cloud Atlas, Wachowski says in a soft and breathy voice: ‘Hi, I’m Lana.’ It is the first time ‘Larry’ has appeared publicly as ‘Lana’.


The new film, which stars Tom Hanks and Halle Berry, is one of the most hotly anticipated of the year. It is based on British author David Mitchell’s hit book which features six interlocking stories beginning in the 1800s and progressing to the future. The cast includes Hugh Grant, Susan Sarandon and Jim Broadbent.

At the height of Matrix mania, Wachowski left his wife for a dominatrix called Ilsa Strix.

The Wachowskis are each reported to be worth more than £50 million.
