Mila Kunis returns for the second time as the face of the Miss Dior handbag. Kunis embodies a Jackie-O vibe donning a retro bouffant hairdo and vintage threads. The quirky and petite Kunis, who currently stars in the new comedy "Ted", becomes a sophisticated Fifties Hollywood star in the black-and-white shoot.
Photographer Mario Sorrenti captures the glamorous Kunis in Los Angeles. Carine Roitfeld styles the actress, portraying her as the starlet who just loves the camera. The beautiful Kunis is surrounded by a flood of paparazzi in one of the photos.
According to WWD, the ad campaign will make its debut on July 21st in the August issue of Elle Hong Kong, and will be featured in September issues, including Bazaar and Tatler in the U.K., Vanity Fair in the U.S. and Vogue Paris in France. Dior will release more images from the campaign, along with a behind-the-scenes video and mini film, on its Miss Dior website on Wednesday
As Glamour‘s August cover girl, Mila Kunis spoke about two of the biggest double standards in Hollywood: scrutiny of women’s weight and age.
Mila’s gained 25 pounds since her Black Swan days, when the 5’4″ actress weighed only 98 pounds. She pointed out that she’s healthier now and has more muscle; but no matter what her weight is, people complain.
“This is my normal body. It’s not 98 pounds. God, I’m probably 25 pounds heavier in muscle mass and weight at this point. What was crazy was, when I was shooting Black Swan , everyone was like, “Gosh, you’re really too skinny.” Then my weight started bouncing back and they’re like, “She looked better when she was anorexic-looking.” You can’t please anyone! It was just for work. I didn’t do it because I had issues. Now this is my normal weight that I started out with.”
Not only can women not win with their bodies in Hollywood, they’re not allowed to grow old (but men are.) The 28-year-old noted that she’s being paired with love interests a decade or two older than her (Mark Walhberg, Clive Owen) because as men in Hollywood age, they’re still considered sex symbols, but female stars aren’t.
“I think that male actors are allowed to get older and female actors are not. So you have your 40-year-old guys being paired with a twentysomething woman. The documentary Searching for Debra Winger is the best thing that explains it.”
