Katie Price’s ex-husband has wished her new fiancé Leandro Penna good luck on their engagement, warning: “You’ll need it”.
Cagefighter Alex Reid, who split from the glamour model in January last year after just 11 months, spoke out after it emerged she was getting hitched for a third time in just seven years.
Alex, 36, told a pal that the news was “a bit of a kick in the teeth”– and said he doubted her marriage to the Argentinian male model, 26, would last.
A source told the Sunday Mirror: “Alex thinks it’s a good thing Katie and Leandro talk different languages and don’t understand each other because he doubts Leandro would stay long.”
Katie – known as Jordan - was seen flashing a pink diamond ring as she stepped out for dinner near her £2million mansion in Horsham, West Sussex with Leo this week.
Katie and first husband Peter split after 4 years
The mum-of-three hinted at the engagement when she tweeted on Friday: “Wooo hooo so excited.” A spokesman for the 33-year-old later confirmed the couple’s engagement and revealed they had jetted off for a break.
But before the wedding can take place, Katie still has to finalise her divorce from Alex, who is now expecting a baby with Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton.
Alex married Katie in Las Vegas in February 2010.
Katie and Alex in happier times
The source added: “He loved Katie and was devastated when they split, he did everything he could to make it work and Kate was very cruel during the split.”
Katie cited Alex’s “unreasonable behaviour” as their reason for their break-up in divorce papers.
She was previously married to singer Peter Andre, with whom she has two children.

COMMUNICATION is crucial to the success of any relationship.
Leandro is Argentinian and grew up in a culture packed with machismo and some pretty different ideas about women’s roles.
They will have a lot of talking to do about how they see their long-term future together — and how to handle Leandro’s relationship with Katie’s children Harvey, Junior and Princess.
A change of relationship is always tricky for children. Accepting Leandro as Mummy’s friend is one thing.
Him taking on the role of step-dad will take careful negotiating — with the kids and also with Peter Andre, who is heavily involved in their lives and happiness.
Maybe Katie could organise some premarital counselling for them. Relate are there to help everyone enjoy happy relationships (0300 100 1234, www.relate.org.uk).
