ADELE, JUSTIN BIEBER + MORE GET ‘CHOLAFIED’ MAKEOVERS
All we can say is “Wow.” A new website, Cholafied, has accomplished exactly what you’d expect: giving Photoshopped “chola” makeovers to celebs — such as Adele and Justin Bieber; Rihanna and Lana Del Rey – with hilarious results.
The site features a slew of A-listers with newly painted on, heavily arched black brows, dark lip liner and pale, frosted lipstick. While we’re not into stereotypes of any kind, we thought it appropriate in this instance to give some background on the “chola” look. Often rocked by Latinas, a typical chola has the makeup we just described, often accompanied by heavily gelled hair (for the “crunchy” curly look) or tight ponytails, flannel shirts and lots of gold jewelry.
The “cholafied” famous faces are particularly hilarious, and some aren’t even faces: even Angelina Jolie’s now-notorious leg got the chola treatment. The effects are part creepy clown, part unfortunate yearbook photo and all in all hysterical. Our favorite is Justin Bieber’s look — with the two penciled in beauty marks!
