Father John Misty has a new album out!!! + interview with the Guardian
Father John Misty: ‘I just wanted to write about love without bullshitting’
On the birth of his new persona: “I got into a van with enough mushrooms to choke a horse and drove down the coast with nowhere to go,” he says. Emerging from a heavygoing depression and looking for enlightenment, he found himself “sitting naked in a tree, hallucinating and scratching my head like an ape. And I confronted the great cosmic joke. I’d wanted to be perceived as this spiritual person, but the reality was me running about with my pants around by my knees.” JT quickly decided, though, that this was a joke he was in on. ‘You wouldn’t know it from this conversation, but I’m actually hilarious,” he says. “That’s my direct line to the sublime, and I needed to use it. In childhood, my humour had always been maligned as satanic.”
On his religious upbringing:“I went to a Pentecostal messianic Jewish cult school where I was taught to exorcise demons from my classmates and speak in tongues, and had these insane engineered psychedelic experiences,” he elaborates. “People were lifting my arms up to worship while kids lay convulsing on the floor, talking about seeing their dead grandparents. It was flat-out insanity, and I should have been writing about that.” Why wasn’t he? “I didn’t want anyone to know about my upbringing. It’s still a major source of pain and confusion. I didn’t get to choose my childhood, and I felt doomed. The further I get from those experiences, the more of a sense of humour about it I have. In a broad sense, I mean. I don’t think it’s hilarious or anything.”
On the Fleet Foxes:“We all started hating each other. I wasn’t the worst band member – I was actually the funny one. But there were a lot of tears. The worst was the tour we did where I was the opening act. I’d play my sad bastard stuff, be ignored, then go sit at the back. There’s no better illustration of how little worth I had. I walked off stage at Shepherd’s Bush and nobody noticed.” (WHAT. I refuse to believe they hate each other!!!)
The Guardian gives the album 4/5 stars, and says 'it wows the listener outright'.

British pop chanteuse Charli XCX was seen shuffling out of London's Heathrow airport after an 11-hour flight from Dallas Tuesday morning. The star is back in London to promote her latest single, Doing It. Charli spent Sunday night in Los Angeles at the GRAMMYs, where she didn't win a single award. JK Simmons to reprise role as J Jonah Jameson?
The latest update on the state of Spider-Man has Sony executives denying the rumor suggesting that Spidey may very well take on a significant role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by appearing in The Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1, becoming the new face of The Avengers following the events of Captain America: Civil War and beyond.
Meanwhile, J. Jonah Jameson himself was interviewed by Howard Stern recently (hat tip to /Film) and when talk inevitably turned to when we’d see another Spider-Man movie, Simmons replied:
I just heard that we…that’s a possibility.
As for whether or not Simmons would return to the role he’s arguably most famous for, the actor responded in the affirmative, saying, “Absolutely.”

There's a reason JJJ never appeared in Webb's movies. They knew they couldn't top this. And for what it's worth, Simmons has been pretty steadily voicing the character in a handful of Marvel cartoons since his live action departure.

Musketeers Roundup: Athos is a 17th Century Batman, Burke's War and Peace Filming in Russia
Can former aristocrat Athos save his French Gotham? Will they address his alcoholism for real? Will Treville be taken off of literal shit duty soon?
Sidenote, is this what all of the other Musketeers have to do while these four get every single job in the country? How is no other Musketeer ever important to the plot? Why would D'Artagnan get bumped to the head of the line? Is Treville just a terrible leader?
All of these questions and more won't be answered this week, when The Musketeers is on because rugby isn't for a change.

Martyrs remake already filmed, True Blood and Pretty Little Liars stars cast as leads(?)
Word is that the just-announced Martyrs remake has just finished filming and while there has been no official announcement just yet Bailey Noble (True Blood) and Troian Bellisario (Pretty Little Liars) were apparently cast as the two leads. Just a wild guess on my part but I'm going to assume based on their ages Noble will be playing Morjana Alaoui's role and Bellisario will be playing Mylene Jampanoi's from the original film.
Synopsis: A young woman's quest for revenge against the people who kidnapped and tormented her as a child leads her and a friend, who is also a victim of child abuse, on a terrifying journey into a living hell of depravity.

James McAvoy, who worked at a bakery to pay his way to acting school, thinks if the current trend of the dominance of privately educated actors continues, it will be "damaging for society" because it wouldn't be representative of society.
"That's a frightening world to live in, because as soon as you get one tiny pocket of society creating all the arts, or culture starts to become representative not of everybody but of one tiny part, and that's not fair to begin with, but it's also damaging for society."

Miley set to release Bangerz Tour DVD, Enters Porn Festival
Remember the mega hyped, mega controversial, mega successful, Bangerz Tour? Miley announced today on twitter that it is coming to DVD on March 24 (my burfdae omfg) and possibly blu ray as well. Most likely, the footage will be from her overseas dates that were used for her NBC concert special, which aired last summer. Here's hoping Miley: The Movement and Miley Unplugged are also included in the bonus features!
She also announced she will take part in SNL 40 in some way. Miley has hosted SNL twice, both times successfully with respectable ratings.

Chris Brown Cancels Concert after selling ONLY 17% of seats
Chris Brown & Trey Songz cancelled their Minneapolis concert because of low sales. They were only able to sell 3,500 seats out of 20,000 seats!!. Judging by the same low ticket sales in other cities he might be canceling more dates.
This is disappointing since we have like 3 artists headlining the tour (Chris, Trey, Tyga). August Alsina should be glad that he jumped ship and decided to open for Usher instead.
