Injured Niall gets 10,000 for charity gameONE Direction heart-throb Niall Horan has sold 10,000 tickets for his charity soccer match – and he's not even playing. The chart-topper is no stranger to selling out stadiums with his four chart-topping bandmates, but now he's proved he has pulling power of his own.
"They're flying in with over 10,000 tickets sold already," said an event spokeswoman. "It will be fantastic for the two charities involved."The chance to see the Mullingar star (20) standing on the sideline is proving a massive draw for his legions of teenage fans.
Unfortunately for him, though, a recent knee injury means he won't be able to take to the pitch. The spokeswoman said: "He'll just be managing, but saying that, he's taking his role very seriously."
The match will be played at the King Power stadium – the home of Leicester City – on May 26, a day after the band's final trio of gigs at Croke Park. But far from enjoying a well-deserved day off, the big-hearted star is helping drum up some serious cash for charity.
He'll be joined at the match by bandmates Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne alongside Keith Duffy, Rod Stewart and Olly Murs.Niall will donate proceeds from the Niall Horan Charity Football Challenge to Irish Autism Action, which is based in Mullingar, and UK charity Heart and Minds Challenge.
Derby County supporter Niall will also have Jason McAteer and former England player Robbie Fowler on his side, which should help make it a tough team to beat. They'll be going up against TV's Mr Nasty, Piers Morgan, who will turn out for a tasty selection managed by former Welsh international Robbie Savage.Calling on his fans to support him on the day, Niall this week tweeted: "Who's coming to the game on the 26th of May? You gotta get your tickets , there are loads of them left."
He said he was "very excited" to be hosting his first charity football match."Me and my bandmates are looking forward to giving Robbie a run for his money," he said.

Dozens of One Direction Fans Treated for Asphyxia at Peru ConcertA One Direction concert last Sunday (April 27) at Lima's Estadio Nacional in Peru caused 47 young fans to be treated for symptoms of asphyxia. Asphyxia is a potentially life-threatening condition caused by a lack of oxygen or excess of carbon dioxide to the body. Although tents had to be used as emergency treatment centers at the venue, no serious injuries or fatalities were reported.
The dangerous conditions commenced after concert doors were opened and fans rushed to get as close as possible to the stage in the 40,000-capacity stadium. Throughout the performance fans continued to push, with band members pleading with them to stop.“If you don’t want anyone to take us off the stage, make sure you stay back,” the group's Niall Horan warned. The concert continued and ended as planned, complete with 19 songs and four encores, according to Sky News.
The show was the second of 69 in One Direction's Where We Are world tour. Thursday night (May 1) the South American leg continues with a date in Santiago, Chile. The band will then tour Europe before returning to North America on Aug. 1 in Toronto,
One Direction ‘forced to move hotels because of screaming fans in Peru’ ahead of their Chilean concertThey performed to a packed out crowd in Santiago on Wednesday night, but One Direction could be forgiven if they were feeling a little tired. The boyband have been struggling to sleep at their hotel rooms as screaming fans have been keeping them awake at night. It all proved too much for the boys in Peru, as they were forced to switch hotels to escape the noise. Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson were told not to return to their rooms at the Belmond Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco after a sightseeing trip to the ancient Machu Picchu ruins, the hotel confirmed. It was because officers struggled to stop excited girls from storming the building.
Around 250 fans had filled the tiny square outside the hotel, where rooms cost £350-a-night, and over 25 police officers attempted to disperse them, but eventually decided it would be best for the Little Things hitmakers to relocate. One Direction are on the South American leg of their Where We Are world tour.
A source told Jonathan Reilly of The Sun newspaper: ‘There were hundreds of screaming girls outside the hotel.‘Police were struggling to keep them back and keep them off the road.’ They added: ‘The fans with their posters nearly filled the entire square.’ The band flew out of Peru by private jet on Tuesday to Santiago, Chile, for their next gig. Last week,
it was revealed over 6,000 police had been assigned to protect the quintet in Colombia to keep them safe from gun violence and kidnapping threats.A source said: ‘No risks are being taken. The dangers in some of these countries are very real and that's why management have arranged the world's best security teams.
There will be no wandering into the city for partying or sightseeing anywhere deemed dangerous - and Colombia is definitely dangerous.’The Story of My Life group were escorted to and from El Campin stadium by police with a convoy of security vehicles and a team of more than 200 guards at the stadium.

Liam Payne & Zayn Malik Simulate Oral Sex On Stage – Shocking PicWell, that’s awkward. A new photo hit the web of 1D’s singers Liam Payne and Zayn Malik and they look like they’re in a pretty compromising position! See the hysterical pic here.
Zayn Malik and Liam Payne are getting awfully close in this new pic! While it may just be the angle the pic was taken, we can’t help but laugh aloud every time we see this pic. While Zayn, 21, is standing and singing on stage during a One Direction concert, Liam, 20, is down on his knees — and looks like he’s singing into something other than the mic.
In a new pic, which was taken by a fan at a concert and posted on Twitter, Liam appears to be singing into a certain body part of Zayn while they’re dancing. It’s clear that Liam’s just further behind Zayn on stage and the pic just happens to be taken from the perfect angle.
