A crazy report has been circulating all day that Madonna has Dolphins in her home in Dubai. How did they get there?

However, Madonna is fighting back – releasing a statement to NAUGHTY BU NICE ROB saying, “despite reports to the contrary, Madonna does not own a home in Dubai with dolphins.”

Thank goodness. We all know Madonna has unicorns! Wink

The rumor started after a story ran on designer Joaquín Torres, who says he has designed the homes of Madonna, Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem. The publication claimed he had designed Madonna’s home in Dubai and that she has dolphins in her living room. Dolphins. Enough said.

The CW’s Arrow spin-off, The Flash, is speedily adding to its ranks.

Shark/Necessary Roughness alum Danielle Panabaker has boarded the project in the role of Caitlin Snow, a bioengineering expert who lost her fiancé during the particle accelerator snafu at Central City’s S.T.A.R. Labs. Could this beauty be fated to give Barry the big chill?

Rick Cosnett aka The Vampire Diaries‘ Dr. Wes Maxfield, meanwhile, has been cast as Detective Eddie Thawne, a Central City PD newbie with a mysterious past. (DC lore has a Professor Eobard Thawne aka Professor Zoom, one of The Flash’s most formidable foes.)

Earlier this week, Law & Order alum Jesse L. Martin landed the role of Barry Allen’s surrogate father, Detective West.

Recent Arrow guest star/Glee alum Grant Gustin, of course, plays the title role.

Gaga Receives Standing Ovation for Carole King Tribute, Steals the Show from More than a Dozen Stars

Gaga, wearing a simple white gown with a white cape, was one of dozens of stars including King herself who performed songs from the composer’s astounding catalogue. Gaga accompanied herself on piano singing “You’ve Got A Friend” on a rotating turntable stage in the middle of a room of around one thousand industry insiders.

She “batted cleanup” so to speak, following the opening “Hi De Ho” from Steven Tyler and LeAnn Rimes; Pink singing “So Far Away”; Train with Pat Monahan on “I Feel the Earth Move.” And then Gaga sat down at a white Yamaha piano in the middle of the L.A. Convention Center ballroom and just blew everyone away with an intimate, throaty, bluesy version of King’s greatest song. The whole room went wild, with Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne among those cheering when Gaga came to a conclusion. Later, when King accepted the MusiCares award, she cited Gaga’s performance. “The music flows through her,” King said.

It's been a tough week for Justin Bieber.

But the troubled teenager seemed happy enough on Friday night as he was pictured grinning when he left a rented Miami mansion.

The self-styled King of Pop was in good spirits, signing autographs for fans while surrounded by bodyguards.

Also with him was his 38-year-old father Jeremy, amid fears that the star's life may be spiraling out of control, and who some have accused of being a bad influence on Justin.

Bieber has apparently refused attempts by his management to check into rehab.

Selena Gomez & Ashley Benson at Beats Music Lounge Party!

With the Grammys set to kick off in LA this weekend, the whole of celebsville seem to have descended on the red carpet ahead of all the excitement. Among those hitting the pre-partys were Spring Breakers pals Ashley Benson and Selena Gomez, who has gone right back to her sexy Come & Get It roots and was rocking a Bindi for the Beats Music Launch Party at the Belasco Theatre.
Spotted having a gossip at the party, Selena and Pretty Little Liars actor Ashley were both working dark and wintry tones with their tousled waves. Going for a sexy biker look, Ashley paired her strapless leather minidress with a matching leather jacket, only adding a beaded necklace to glam things up.
Selena, on the other hand, was all about the accessories. Vamping it up in a stretchy black midi cut low at the front, she was working the smokiest of eyes, piling on the cakey black eyeshadow and mascara. Balancing the look with strong red lips, she added a pop of glitz with her gold headband and finished off the look with a bindi and a big smile.

Flawless Irish Prince Jack Gleeson talks about his Oxford Union speech that went viral

Interview: Jack Gleeson
Nick Hilton talks fame, philosophy and PhDs with Game of Thrones star Jack Gleeson
By NICK HILTON
When I first meet Jack Gleeson, he’s pointing an umbrella at the throat of a girl, whilst her friend snaps a photo on her iPhone. Graciously, he smiles and announces that it was his ‘pleasure’.

Jack and I go back a long way; right back to Season One of Game of Thrones, the international hit TV show in which he portrays evil King Joffrey. When he’s not shooting prostitutes with his crossbow, he’s a philosophy student at Trinity College, Dublin.

Gleeson’s talk at the Union has become something of a viral hit with, at time of writing, almost a million views on YouTube. The reason for the wildfire is that Gleeson seized the opportunity to talk about retiring from acting at the end of Game of Thrones, and his general dislike of celebrity culture. The comments on the video range from ‘Man i feel so slow o.o most of the words and things hes talking about is making me confused it's like inception all over again’ to ‘Too bad his celebrity draws mostly the worst possible audience to his insightful speech.’

‘I do feel uncomfortable in celebrity,’ he tells me, ‘It’s a weird, like, adoration and elevation. It’s uncomfortable to be on another echelon, it’s nicer to be on the same level as someone but when someone puts you there it’s hard to get out of it.’

We’ve just sat down in the corner, away from the braying masses and he seems somewhat relieved. It’s a pretty rare occurrence for an interviewee to consider talking to a journalist as an escape from celebrity culture, but, lager in hand, Gleeson seems more comfortable.

When I ask him how he manages to remain civil whilst being treated like a fairground attraction, he tells me, ‘There’s no other way to do it. I always just say yes. For you it’s just 30 seconds, but they really get a kick out of it. It might make you feel worse, but they really want the picture and they enjoy the picture. I’ve only had one or two experiences where I’ve been in a really cranky mood and the atmosphere’s been toxic and I’ve just said ‘no’, but that led to a lot of negativity at the time, so I’ve learned to get over myself and just be patient and say yes.’

What really sticks out is the idea that it might make him feel ‘worse’. This isn’t just an unwanted by-product, but something that can be actively negative.

‘Yeah I find it really hard. I don’t find it so hard when I’m on my own, but I find it hard when I’m with friends. Like I’m with my cousin there and he had to leave to get a pint. It makes me uncomfortable that friends might see me as arrogant or see that I enjoy it. And my friendships have to bear the burden of my celebrity, when they’re asked to take photos!’

At this point in our interview, we’re interrupted by some more fans – who have brought the collected works of George RR Martin to be signed, and clearly don’t respect the journalistic authority of Cherwell. Gleeson signs their books with a resigned smile on his face, and when another fan can’t produce a piece of paper (she seems to expect him to provide one) he ends up signing the back of a Tesco receipt.

When the autograph hunting hordes have finally receded, I ask him whether his theatre production company, the Collapsing Horse Theatre Company in Dublin, is something that gives him more satisfaction.

‘I take more of a behind the stage role for that, helping out with the production and writing. That’s really fulfilling, especially as it’s with friends and you have some creative control.

With Game of Thrones I see it as just a job. You just do it and learn the lines and turn up for work and that’s that.’

With minimal interest in Game of Thrones (he drew a shocked silence from the Union’s audience when he revealed that he didn’t even watch the show), I can’t help but feel like we’re not in too different a situation. Sure, he’s a super-rich, super-famous actor, with a devoted following, and I’m just a student with a dictaphone, but we’re roughly the same age and at roughly the same juncture in life. So what does he want to do with himself, once he’s no longer acting?

‘I’ve no idea. I enjoy the comfort of third-level education. I’ll certainly do a Masters and flirt with the idea of doing a PhD. I like writing, but I’ve no idea what.

I’m a huge fan of social theory, even though I come from a philosophy background. I’m a big fan of Žižek, for example. That would be an ideal line of career, to be a philosopher and get paid to think, but it’s tough.’

I don’t disagree with him, especially when he turns the question back on to me. When I tell him I’ve been rejected from all management consultancies firms, he responds with a short laugh and says, ‘Thank god you did!’ So are we just the same then?

‘For me, the stakes might be slightly higher in some ways. All my friends are thinking the same way as me, but the thing I’m withdrawing from just happens to be in the public eye. Loads of my friends have been doing stuff since they were young and they’ve realised they’re not interested anymore. It’s natural to do something for a while and then realise that it’s become stagnant, especially at the age we’re at. But it just happens that mine is alluring. It’s just not alluring to me.’

With that, we turn out discussion to the classic Oxford careers escape route: further education. I suggest that if he’s concerned about his celebrity, he might consider applying using a fake name.

‘I’d like that- I don’t know if you can do that. I am worried that there’s a bias there. Do you think universities would have a positive bias because I’m famous? [I mention Emma Watson] I’d hate that, to not be validated. What kind of academic research is Emma Watson fucking doing?!’

Unlike Emma Watson (although, perhaps that’s unfair, I have no idea what her interests are), Gleeson seems serious about withdrawing from the public eye. I raise the dreamlike prospect of not being recognised on the street to try and test his resolve.

‘It’s funny; at the moment I feel I’d appreciate that. But because I’m so ‘in it’ at the moment I find it quite hard to get an objective perception of it. Only in two or three years’ time will I be able to look back at it and realise how crazy it was. At the moment I can’t really say whether it’s been a good or bad experience. But I happily wait for the time that I become anonymous again. Perhaps I’ll look back and be like ‘that was amazing’.

At the end of the day, celebrity’s a cultural anaesthetic and I don’t deny that. People enjoy it as a respite – all those celebrity machine shows – but I certainly believe that it’s the public who create the celebrities. It’s interesting that they can be seen as ideals that are representative of the public because, if they’re created by the public, then it’s just inherent that they are representation of what they view as good or bad. So I think there’s a lot of power in the public in terms of celebrity, which isn’t perceived a lot.’

His candour is arresting and I find myself wondering how this will go down with the bosses at HBO. Nobody wants one of their lead actors smack talking the production process of the show they’re meant to be promoting. But still, I ask him what he really makes of the whole Game of Thrones culture.

‘I’ll try and be honest,’ he says, after I interrupt him by asking him not to be tactful, ‘One part of me screams ‘no, I don’t give a shit!’, and then a part of me says ‘well, it’s a big part of my life and a lot of people care about it and I have a duty to care about it.’ I don’t care about the banal questions and the trite questions that I’ve answered a thousand times, but I think I do care about the duty I have as a result of Game of Thrones. And that’s not a tactful answer, it’s an honest answer.’

Whilst I’m tempted to take the ‘no, I don’t give a shit!’ sound bite and use it out of context, Gleeson appears to be speaking the truth when he talks about the show. Much as he is unable to reject the autograph hunters outright, he is unable to dismiss a show, which, he acknowledges, brings pleasure to a lot of people.

But that experience is coming to an end, and, just like most students everywhere, he doesn’t know what’s going to come next. There’s an interesting conflict to observe, meeting someone who is heading towards gentlemanly retirement, whilst only being 21 years old.

‘It’s a bizarre tension. That’s why I’ve done a lot of publicity stuff with GOAL, the humanitarian organisation, and really putting myself out there, whereas, in the past three or four years, I haven’t at all. Perhaps it’s a desire to use this weird thing that’s been given to me: for good, or for selfish means, like tonight. I feel like I’ve resented it for so long that, in five years time, I’ll look back and think ‘that was pretty cool’.

You just have to make sure it meets your moral standards rather than whoring yourself out.’

Before he leaves (supposedly to Park End, although he vigorously shook his head when I asked him about it), I undermine everything he’s talked about over the last hour by requesting a photograph. It takes about 30 snaps for me to get the perfect shot; the perfect Facebook profile picture.

He doesn’t complain.

Source.
I love that he's so open about struggling to reconcile the fame he gets from the show with how he personally feels about celebrity/his own moral stances. Whether he really does retire from acting permanently or not, whatever field he chooses to pursue is very lucky to have him.

Melissa Gilbert dishes on dating Tom Cruise, says she wants to punch Shannen Doherty 'in the nose'

The ‘Little House on the Prairie’ star revealed she had dated the A-lister before he was famous, and even 'bought him his first set of dishes.'

Melissa Gilbert got candid on "Watch What Happens Live" Wednesday night.

The "Little House on the Prairie" star didn't hesitate to kiss and tell — even decades later. Gilbert opened up to host Andy Cohen about when she used to date then-struggling actor Tom Cruise.

"Actually, when I dated him he was Tom Mapother still," the actress said. "It was when he first moved to Los Angeles, and I think I was...16? 17?"

"I did not have sex with him. We made out, but honestly, there was no sex," she said. "He was a good kisser, but you know, he was like a struggling, starving actor and I was working. I actually bought him his first set of dishes."

While Gilbert only recalls Cruise fondly, the same can't be said for Shannen Doherty.

In Gilbert's 2010 book "Prairie Tales," she revealed the "Charmed" actress had a one-night stand with her first husband. In a game of "Melissa Spill-bert,"Cohen asked Glibert what she would say to Doherty if she ran into her on the street.

"I wouldn't say anything, I'd just punch her in the nose," Glibert said.

Johnny Depp Is 'Lovestruck' by Amber Heard, Friends Say

$

Sure, they had onscreen chemistry in 2011's The Rum Diary, but sources close to newly engaged couple Johnny Depp and Amber Heard say their connection is much more than physical.

"Amber is a female version of Johnny,"
says a longtime Depp friend. "She's sort of kooky and outspoken, and while that would intimidate many guys, it is a turn-on for Johnny."

It isn't as if Depp, 50, the cool, bohemian bachelor twice crowned PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive, hasn't been smitten before – he's had very public romances with the likes of Winona Ryder, Kate Moss and Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has children Lily Rose, 14, and Jack, 11. But now he's utterly head over heels for Heard, 27.

At the Art of Elysium gala on Jan. 11, where the couple made their first major public appearance together, Depp was "following her around" throughout the evening, says an acquaintance of his. "He looked lovestruck."

The Austin, Texas-born Heard, who has been open about her bisexuality, tumbled hard for Depp, too. "She really just fell in love with him," says a friend. "She's a sweet girl. She's an old soul and he's older, so it makes sense that she'd fall for him."

Perrie Edwards can’t wait to have kids with One Direction’s Zayn Malik!

zayn-malik-perrie-edwards-selfies-photos
During a recent trip to Liberia to support this year’s Sports Relief, Perrie Edwards has said that she can’t wait to hear the pitter-patter of tiny feed, but it’s not on the agenda right now.
It would seem that a maternal instinct comes quite naturally to Edwards after she was pictured cradling a toddler whilst in Liberia. However, it looks like her forthcoming nuptials to One Direction lad Zayn Malik are on the cards before anything else.
Speaking to the Metro, Little Mix member Edwards said: “I can’t wait to get married and have kids but it’s Little Mix at the minute.
“I want Little Mix to explode and be massive, then I think we’ll all settle down and get married and have kids and stuff like that. It’s going to be lovely, I can’t wait”.

Perrie apparently added that she’s going to have her “unconventional” wedding in late 2014 or in early 2015. Let’s hope that isn’t a sign that she’s ready to settle down, Little Mix are just picking up! They could be HUGE in a couple of years… watch out 1D! She also added that she wants “five or six best men”.
Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson… well that’s four sorted right there!
Perrie seems to be undecided where she wants her wedding, but if it’s correct that she wants it toward the latter end of this year, it’s about time she made her mind up, we need to decide which hat to wear!
A Source said: “She’s torn between having a UK [wedding], because all her family are here, and doing something magical and exotic abroad, like Barbados”.
One aspect that Perrie does have correct, mind, is that it’s going “to be a massive circus”, adding that it’s “every journalist’s dream” – let’s up she saves a few aisle seats for us. We’d be fine standing afar on the beach, even.
Soooo, what do you reckon to Perrie being ready to start a family? Do you think she should stick to her guns and have kids in the future or are you ready for a baby Perrie now?
Im sure they are practicing a lot. Hopefully with eachother.

Noomi Rapace & Tom Hardy Are Best Buddies, Y'all

Noomi Rapace doesn't ''need to be polite'' when she works with Tom Hardy, because they know each other so well and can work naturally together.

The Swedish actress appears alongside the 'Batman: The Dark Knight Rises' star in Soviet-era thriller 'Child 44', and says their on screen chemistry comes from being such good friends off-camera.

She told Radar Magazine: ''I met Tom two years previously and we were looking for something to work on. What was really great was that we know each other really well, and we really trust each other, so we don't need to be polite, we don't need to start from zero.

''We could just melt into the next one. We had so much for free. It felt like we were this gypsy family coming from New York with all our family and the next stop was Prague [in The Czech Republic].''

Noomi also told how one of the main reasons she wanted to become an actress and travel the world was so it got her away from the cold winters of her native Sweden, but also acknowledged they were always a good time for her creatively.

She added: ''Because it's dark and cold out, it forces people to be creative, you can't just sit and hang out. For six months it's dark and lonely and forces some creativity.''

Noomi is interviewed in Radar Magazine in the UK's The Independent newspaper, out January 25. For more info visit independent.co.uk/topic/RadarMagazine

JK Rowling exclusively reveals Gilderoy Lockhart's backstory for Pottermore

At A Celebration of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida, JK Rowling spilled the beans about one of the most colourful characters from the Harry Potter books – Gilderoy Lockhart.

She revealed that the vain one-time defence against the dark arts teacher, who is played by Kenneth Branagh in the films, celebrates his birthday tomorrow, on 26 January, and she recorded three short audio clips for Pottermore.com – the digital platform for the Harry Potter stories and the world described within them - which we are exclusively showcasing here.

In the three clips, JK Rowling discusses her flamboyant creation's family background, a failed business idea and where the Sorting Hat nearly put him during his time at Hogwarts. The clips show her mischievous sense of humour, and a penchant for poking fun at the excesses of celebrity.

ONTD ORIGINAL: Where are they now? Skins First Generation on the 7th Anniversary of Series One

$
0
0

what up yall

On January 25, 2007, British teen drama SKINS debuted and took the world by storm as both a critical and commercial success. The show ended this past August after a successful run, marked by cast transitions every two series. The first generation remains the most ICONIC and beloved of them all. SO YALL, on the 7th anniversary of the show's debut, let's take a look and see where they are now.
Nicholas Hoult (Tony Stonem)

The show's de facto lead, Tony was the smart, popular, and handsome guy in school who was also a total psycho. Since leaving Skins in 2008, he's starred in a bevy of films. A Single Man opposite Colin Firth and Julianne Moore in 2009, X-Men: First Class as Beast/Hank McCoy in 2011 (and is due to reprise his role in this year's X-Men: Days of Future Past), and was the lead in both Warm Bodies (fairly successful) and Jack the Giant Slayer (total fucking flop). In 2015, he's due to appear opposite Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy in the Mad Max remake. His most famous role, however, is being ONTD's faveJennifer Lawrence's on-again off-again boyfriend since meeting on the set of XMFC in 2010.

April Pearson (Michelle Richardson)

April played Michelle Richardson, Tony's long-suffering girlfriend. April herself hasn't done much since Skins ended, but did star in a horror-comedy film called Tormented opposite Alex "Don't Lie, I Know Who You Are" Pettyfer and Skins castmate Larissa Wilson in 2009. She's acted in a couple episodes of British soap opera Casualty, and apparently has gone to a few film premieres this year (who knows why). She's pretty active on both Twitter and Instagram, and also was a beauty blogger for a little bit (her blog hasn't been updated for about two years now, though).

Mike Bailey (Sid Jenkins)

(if im gonna be real im not even 100% sure if that's him now)

Sid was Tony's nice guy, awkward virgin best friend. Mike Bailey totally fell off the grid after Skins ended but apparently talked shit about the show on Twitter and then deleted it after he was attacked by stans. He had some nudes leak in 2010-2011, and appeared in some Channel 4 documentary series in 2009. He emerged from wherever he's been hiding to take a role in comedy film We Are The Freaks, released in the UK in August 2013. FUN FACT: Sid's crazy dad was played by Peter Capaldi, the newest Doctor on Doctor Who.

Hannah Murray (Cassie Ainsworth)

Cassie was the eccentric, sweet friend who suffered from mental illness, including anorexia. She reprised her role as Cassie in the feature length episode Skins Pure in 2013. Hannah Murray's done really well for herself post-Skins: she acted in a critically acclaimed West End production titled The Face in 2008, several films between 2010-2011, and has been playing Gilly on Game of Thrones since 2012. She just premiered her new movie God Help The Girl at Sundance this past weekend, and is going to be seen in the upcoming movies Lily and Kat and No Way To Live.

Joe Dempsie (Chris Miles)

Joe Dempsie played Chris, the party animal of the group. Demspie's been very successful post-Skins as well. He was in episodes of Merlin and Doctor Who in 2008, but really hit the jackpot when he was cast as Gendry in Game of Thrones in 2011 (he was recurring for season two, but as of season three is a regular cast member). He also starred in the acclaimed BBC Three drama The Fades (also starring his GoT costar Natalie Dormer) and was in a few eps of various BBC programs. He also got reallyfuckinghot.

Larissa Wilson (Jal Fazer)
Jal was the level-headed friend of the group (and is totally underrated tbqhhhh). Unfortunately tho, Larissa Wilson has all but disappeared. She played Iris in a TV movie about Shirley Bassey in 2011, was an extra in a TV series called Trollied in 2012, and was in two episodes of Holby City in 2008. She was in the horror movie Tormented with her castmate April Pearson in 2009.
Mitch Hewer (Maxxie Oliver)

Maxxie was the gay friend who was a killer dancer. Mitch Hewer got naked for Cosmo UK in 2008, and starred in Britannia High as Danny in 2009. The show (essentially a British version of Glee) only ran for one season. He has two movies coming out in 2014: Nightlight opposite Chloe Bridges from The Carrie Diaries and Behaving Badly (which is actually pretty star studded: starring Selena Gomez, Dylan McDermott, Elisabeth Shue, Heather Graham, Mary Louise Parker, Cary Elwes, Jenna from Awkward, etc). He's pretty active on Twitter as well.
Dev Patel (Anwar Kharral)

Dev played Anwar, the Muslim friend who took a pretty selective approach to his faith. Dev's obviously played the lead in the Academy Award winning movie Slumdog Millionaire (fun fact: Danny Boyle chose Dev to play Jamal after his Skins-fan daughter recommended him). He was also in the flop (but it still broke even???) live action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. He starred in the successful old people go abroad movie, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Nowadays, Dev can be seen in HBO's The Newsroom, and is filming a few movies this year. He's also been dating Slumdog costar/hottie Freida Pinto since 2009.

Kaya Scodelario (Effy Stonem)

Effy was Tony's wild/mute younger sister, who later became the central character of the second generation (series 3 and 4). Kaya was on Skins until 2010 (reprised her role in the feature length episode Skins Fire in 2013), and then went on to star in an adaptation of Wuthering Heights as Cathy in 2011 and starred in 2013's The Truth About Emanuel as the title character. She can next be seen in the upcoming adaptation of The Maze Runner with Teen Wolf's Dylan O'Brien.
Aimee Ffion-Edwards (Sketch)

Screen Shot 2014-01-25 at 2.57.06 AM
Sketch was the crazy girl who was obsessively in love with Maxxie (only in series two). Aimee Ffion-Edwards has been working pretty steadily since she left the show; she was in series two of Luther with Idris Elba and starred in Jerusalem, both on Broadway and in the West End. In 2012, she was on Sky series Walking and Talking for four episodes.
Daniel Kaluuya (Posh Kenneth)

Kenneth wasn't a main character but was a recurring friend of the group's. Daniel Kaluuya actually was writing for the show as well as acting in it (at age 17!). He wrote a couple eps for series three as well, but didn't act in them. He's been acting steadily since leaving the show, appearing in Doctor Who, Psychoville with Dawn French, Chatroom with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Johnny English 2, and was most recently in Kick Ass 2. He's really active on Twitter, too.
