ADAM LEVINE
Being busy never looked as good as it does on PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive: a surprise June engagement to girlfriend Behati Prinsloo came while the singer was shooting his first feature film; he launched his men's clothing line at Kmart this year and namesake fragrances for men and women; he dominated on his NBC hit The Voice; and the 34-year-old also managed to find time to get nearly naked – and cuddle with some puppies. Sigh. Is there anything he can't do?
IDRIS ELBA
Look up "man" in the dictionary, and you'll see a photo of Elba next to the entry. We kid – we think – but the 41-year-old Brit really is the picture of masculinity with his strong features, deep voice and towering height (he's 6'3"!). He's a bit of a troublemaker – his road to fame was dotted with some slightly naughty behavior – but it seems all is forgiven when he smiles. Not that he minds the bad-boy reputation. "The way I live my life, I'm two drinks from being in the tabloids every day. I'm no national treasure," he told Esquire U.K. "I'm a f–ing [dirty] rude boy!" Rarr!
LUKE BRYAN
The 37-year-old country cutie with the sweet smile and Southern twang earned all sorts of admirers this year with his ACM Awards hosting gig and superfun album Crash My Party (yes, please!). But if we're being honest, it's that booty that's really being noticed: It has its own active Twitter feed and, well, this video (with more than 1 million views) speaks for itself.
JIMMY FALLON
We don't know if he's hiding a six-pack under those slick suits, but the late-night host – slated to take over The Tonight Show in early 2014 – gets fans swooning with his snappy one-liners and awesome viral videos. Plus, the 39-year-old has become one of the most adorable celebrity dads ever, melting more hearts with every photo he shares of daughter Winnie.
BRUNO MARS
The Hawaii native's smile is one of his sweetest attributes, but it's that silky voice and those sexy dance moves (check out this clip at 2:45) that really rev engines. Plus, the 28-year-old isn't afraid to talk about his love of, well, lovemaking. "It feels ... sexy," he told GQ of singing about sex. "It puts you in a sexy frame of mind. It feels good to project. Sex is a great party starter."
JONATHAN & DREW SCOTT
Google "property brothers," and one of the search engine's suggestions is "single?" Yep, ladies love HGTV stars (and identical twins) Jonathan and Drew, who've also acted, directed and started a sketch comedy troupe. The Canada natives – Drew's a real estate agent, Jonathan's a contractor – help families flip fixer-uppers, though neither of them seems to need any fixing: both love spontaneous women who are up for new adventures and eating at delicious restaurants. Sign us up!
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE
If you need any idea of how hot JT has been this year, just know that one of his music videos came with a warning. Yep, the 32-year-old is on fire, popping up in commercials, selling out concerts, releasing two albums and two films and, oh yeah, finding time to reunite with 'NSYNC at the VMAs and travel the world with new BFF Jay-Z. And let's be real: He's very easy on the eyes.
CHRIS PINE
We've always admired Star Trek's Captain Kirk for his piercing baby blues and … sorry, lost our train of thought there. But as it turns out, Pine is more than a pretty face. The Cal grad, 33, is an eloquent speaker, telling Out this year, "I think there is a growing homogenization of what masculinity means." And he also values brainpower in a woman. "I think after the initial attraction kind of dies down, the lust dies down, there has to be the thing that engages you and that is intelligence and humor," he told Ellen DeGeneres of what he wants in a partner.
PHARRELL WILLIAMS
He had the two sexiest singles of the summer (and escaped all the controversy surrounding one), and though he's been around for quite some time, Pharrell's star got a bit brighter this year. However the 40-year-old hit maker, who has a snazzy sense of style (and an equally fashionable new wife) is all about reinventing himself – and he hopes his next iteration is different than what we've already seen. "Pharrell the person is never going to change, but before the shell becomes too popular, I like to switch it up," he told Interview. "I want to express myself, but I never really want to express myself in the same way over and over again."
RONAN FARROW
The Yale Law School grad, 25, went from anonymous to all over the place when his mom, Mia Farrow, revealed this year that he could be Frank Sinatra's son. You can decide whether or not he got those blue eyes from Ol' Blue Eyes, but you've gotta give the guy credit for one of the funnier Tweets of the year (seriously, follow him on Twitter) and his grace under fire.
JUSTIN THEROUX
He's a 42-year-old leather-clad motorcycle man who writes hilarious movies, makes Jennifer Aniston happy and looks like this without his shirt on. He's just as sexy clean-shaven as he is with some scruff and is a sucker for flea market finds. What's not to love?
DAVID BECKHAM
The photo says it all. The 38-year-old dad of four just seems to get better with every underwear ad, quote about his family and photo with his 2-year-old daughter, Harper. He's endlessly charitable and humble, to boot. When asked by, uh, himself if he believes he's good-looking, he replied, "Not really but I like to think I've got my own distinct look, which reflects who I am as a person and the way I evolve as a man."
