Celebrities Who Are Avid Marathon Runners, Too

0
0

Have you ever spotted celebrities in big marathons around the US? Or maybe you have just signed up for running events without even realizing that you may have been joined in by your most favourite movie personality?

There are celebrities too who, like normal netizens, enjoy joining marathons either as part of their fitness routine but also as a way to take a healthy breather from their busy work schedules.

Shia LaBeouf

The 'Transformers' actor was seen running the Los Angeles Marathon last 2010. It was for a cause to render services to US veterans since his own dad was also once a Vietnam veteran.

Will Ferrell

The funny comedian joined the 2003 Boston Marathon with a respectable time of 3:56 for a distance of 26.2 miles. He usually runs with his wife. He also finished successfully other marathons namely the 2001 New York City Marathon and the Stockholm Marathon in 2002.

Ryan Reynolds

Actor Ryan Reynolds started training for marathon as tribute to his dad. He went through intense training before he even signed up for a New York Marathon. He finished his very first running event under four hours.

Sean Combs

Rapper P. Diddy signed up for the 2003 New York City Marathon to crush the marathon record of Oprah. He was able to raise about $2 million for various charities meant for kids.

Katie Holmes (would you look at that heel strike...)

The former 'Dawson's Creek' star finished the 2007 New York City Marathon, managing a 26.2 mile distance. However, many doubted her running performance since many say it would be hard to run wearing yoga pants in boot cut designs like she did.

Cocaine with every GTA5 purchase from Australian EB Games store

n EB Games store in Australia was discovered to be giving away fake cocaine at last night’s midnight release of Grand Theft Auto V.

The story broke when a Reddit user (who has since deleted his or her account) posted a photo of the store’s sales desk covered with packets and lines of white powder with the title:

“Local EB Games (Australia) giving out free ‘cocaine’ for all GTA V preorders.”

Kotaku’s Mark Serrels found out that the fake blow was a decision made by the store’s management team and no at EB Games’ corporate office knew anything about the “promotion.”

We can only assume that the store manager went through with the risky marketing tactic thinking that there wouldn’t be any young children at a midnight release on a weekday.

The game also received a rating of “R18+” in Australia, which is the equivalent of an AO (Adults Only) rating in the U.S.

The reason you haven’t seen many games with that rating is because it’s a step above the M-rating, the equivalent of an R-rating for movies and the usual rating given to most games geared for mature audiences.

While the amount of youngsters that showed up to the release is yet to be revealed, we hope that no children got word of these inner-city goody bags. Who knows what they might do if they got a hold of the older kids’ toys?

They might even put them up their noses or something.

Bella Swan's Best Friend Joins The Walking Dead

AMC's The Walking Dead has added another key comic book character to its ranks.

Christian Serratos (Twilight) has booked a recurring role on the zombie drama's upcoming fourth season, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Serratos will recur as Rosita Espinosa on the adaptation of Robert Kirkman's long-running series, with an option to be promoted to series regular for season five. The character first surfaced in the 53rd issue of the series when Rosita, Abraham and Eugene were heading to Washington, D.C., and crossed paths with Rick and company at Hershel's farm. In the comics, she has romantic ties to Abraham and later Eugene. After more than 110 issues, her character is still alive.

Serratos becomes the latest comic character to board the zombie drama under new showrunner Scott M. Gimple. In April, The Wire alum Larry Gilliard Jr. booked the series regular role of Bob Stookey, a former Army medic haunted by his past. In the comics, the character was a Woodbury resident and ultimately was responsible for saving the Governor's life after he was tortured by Michonne.

In terms of the series, Abraham and Eugene have not been mentioned. It's unclear if the series will also be casting those characters.

In a July interview, longtime comics fan Gimple told THR that he's employing a "remix" approach to Kirkman's source material. "In some ways the things that divert from the comic this year have actually served being closer to the comic in some way," he said. "There's going to be some looping around to the comic and remixing. That's how I essentially look at it: It's a remix of the comic."

In addition to Twilight, Serratos' credits also include The Secret Life of the American Teenager and an episode of American Horror Story. She's repped by Global Artists Agency, Thruline and Stone Meyer.

Season four of The Walking Dead returns in October with Chad Coleman (Tyreese), Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) and Emily Kinney (Beth) all back as series regulars.

Daniel Radcliffe won't appear in JK Rowling's Fantastic Beasts saga

Kill your darlings trailer

Daniel Radcliffe will not return to the magical world of Harry Potter for JK Rowling's forthcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film saga. And he is not up for getting naked on film any time soon, either.

Speaking at a press event for the new Sky Arts series A Young Doctor's Notebook & Other Stories, Radcliffe confirmed he and his co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson would probably not be returning to Hogwarts for Beasts, which is set 70 years prior to the arrival of Harry, Ron and Hermione at the magical school.

"I'm sure they're going to have a great time. I'm sure a lot of people will be really excited," said Radcliffe, who starred in eight Harry Potter films between 2001 and 2011. "I, needless to say, won't be involved. I don't know if any of us [the original Potter cast] will be. I know nothing about it."

The conversation moved on to A Young Doctor's Notebook, in which the 24-year-old shares the role of the narrator with Mad Men's Jon Hamm. Radcliffe said he stipulated no further nudity after stripping down for performances in the upcoming films Horns, The F Word and Kill Your Darlings.

"I think there was a discussion about possible nudity for one scene and I think my comment was: 'I got naked in three films last year. Please can I not?'" said Radcliffe, who also shed his clothes for on stage in the play Equus, in 2007. "At some point, everyone's going to start assuming I'm an exhibitionist."

“I am prouder of my years as a single mother than of any other part of my life”
JK Rowling writes in her capacity as President of Single Parent support group Gingerbread

Nearly twenty years ago (it’s a shock to me to write that, because it still seems quite a recent occurrence) I became a single parent. Like the vast majority of single parents, this had not been my plan. My much-wanted daughter had been conceived and born while I was married, but the failure of that relationship saw me living shortly afterwards on state benefits in the coldest winter Scotland had seen in quite a few years. I had been living in sunny Portugal prior to my return to the UK and the snow was merely the first shock to my system.

I had imagined that I would be back at work fast. Indeed, it was because I expected to be employed outside of the home again that I was working so hard to finish the children’s novel I never told anyone I was writing (not wishing to be told that I was deluded). As it turned out, my belief I would shortly be back in paid work turned out to be a much bigger delusion than the hope that the novel might be published.

I was a graduate and I had been in full-time employment all my life; I did not want my daughter to grow up in poverty, but my district health visitor told me that I would never get state-funded childcare ‘because you’re coping too well’; free nursery places for very young children were reserved at that time for children deemed ‘at risk’. I can’t argue with the prioritisation of children whose mothers weren’t coping, but I had nobody else to look after my daughter. My sister worked full time, my mother was dead, I was in a strange city: where was my daughter supposed to go while I earned a living?

I ended up working a few hours a week at a local church, where I overhauled the filing system and did a bit of typing. The (female) minister let me bring Jessica with me. I was paid, deliberately, exactly that amount that I could keep without losing benefits: £15. For all of this, I was immensely grateful.

My overriding memory of that time is the slowly evaporating sense of self-esteem, not because I was filing or typing – there was dignity in earning money, however I was doing it – but because it was slowly dawning on me that I was now defined, in the eyes of many, by something I had never chosen. I was a Single Parent, and a Single Parent On Benefits to boot. Patronage was almost as hard to bear as stigmatisation. I remember the woman who visited the church one day when I was working there who kept referring to me, in my hearing, as The Unmarried Mother. I was half annoyed, half amused: unmarried mother? Ought I to be allowed in a church at all? Did she see me in terms of some Victorian painting: The Fallen Woman, Filing, perhaps?

Single parents were not popular in certain sectors of the establishment or media in the mid-nineties. I could not raise a smile over the government minister of the time singing a merry ditty about ‘young ladies who get pregnant just to jump the housing queue.’ Newspaper articles discussed single mothers in terms of broken families and anti-social teenagers. However defiant I might feel about the jobs I was doing round the clock (full-time mother, part-time worker, secret novelist), constant bombardment with words like ‘scrounger’ has a deeply corrosive effect. Assumptions made about your morals, your motives for bringing your child into the world or your fitness to raise that child cut to the core of who you are.

Then, in a sudden, seismic and wholly unexpected shift, I found myself in the newspapers.

There was still no escaping the Single Parent tag; it followed me to financial stability and fame just as it had clung to me in poverty and obscurity. I became Single Parent Writes Award-Winning Children’s Book/Earns Record American Advance/Gets Film Deal. One of the first journalists to interview me asked me whether I hadn’t felt I ought to be out looking for a job rather than ‘sitting at home writing a novel.’ By some miracle I resisted the almost overwhelming temptation to punch him and subsequently decided to channel my frustration a little more positively by becoming a Patron of what was then called the National Council for One Parent Families (now Gingerbread).

In spite of the fact that I became a Married Mother again in 2001, I remain President of Gingerbread, a superb campaigning organisation for single parents and their children. Unfortunately, their work is as necessary as ever today, in a recession much worse than the one I faced when I returned to the UK in the 90s.

According to a Gingerbread survey in 2011, 87% of single parents think there is a stigma around single parenthood that needs to be challenged and one in three say that they have personally experienced it.I find the language of ‘skivers versus strivers’ particularly offensive when it comes to single parents, who are already working around the clock to care for their children. Such rhetoric drains confidence and self-esteem from those who desperately want, as I did, to get back into the job market.

A statement by a government minister late last year that ‘people who are poorer should be prepared to take the biggest risks – they’ve got least to lose’ speaks to a profound disconnect with people struggling to keep their heads above water. In some cases – and I was once one of those cases – what you might lose is enough food to eat, a roof over your head: the fundamentals of life and existence, magnified a million-fold when it is your child’s health and security you stand to lose.

In the midst of all this, a further uncertainty is looming large for families already on the brink: the spectre of universal credit, the government’s flagship reform of the welfare system. Already Gingerbread is highlighting serious concerns. It’s all in the detail: the gaps in childcare provision for many of the poorest families, single parents under 25 to lose vital support for their children, the harsh truth that more single parent families will lose than gain under the new system – including many who work. This detail becomes hugely important if it’s the difference between eating three meals a day or going without.

Meanwhile the government mantra that work is the best route out of poverty is ringing increasingly hollow, with nearly 1 in 3 children whose single parent works part-time still growing up in poverty. Rather than focusing on ever more ‘austerity measures’, it’s investment in single parent employment that will allow single parents to work their own way out of poverty and secure real savings from the welfare bill. Nothing outlandish: affordable childcare , decent training, employers embracing flexible hours, and a long, hard look at low pay. I certainly identify with the results of a survey among single parents conducted last year which revealed that childcare costs remain the biggest barrier to work, closely followed by a shortage of flexible jobs: exactly the problems I faced when Jessica was young.

Government has the potential to change the lives, not just of single parents, but of a generation of children whose ambition and potential must not be allowed to dissipate in poverty. In the meantime, I would say to any single parent currently feeling the weight of stereotype or stigmatization that I am prouder of my years as a single mother than of any other part of my life. Yes, I got off benefits and wrote the first four Harry Potter books as a single mother, but nothing makes me prouder than what Jessica told me recently about the first five years of her life: ‘I never knew we were poor. I just remember being happy.’

Janelle Monae on lesbian rumors: ‘I want women to still be attracted to me’

Janelle Monae‘s sexuality continues to be a topic of conversation and gossip. The critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter released her new album, Electric Lady, last week and the buzz surrounding its release has thrust Monae into the spotlight like never before. But while many are interested in her unique fashion sense and undeniably creative approach to music-making, the starlet’s personal life is coming under more and more scrutiny.

Monae revealed in a recent interview with Pride magazine that, until recently, she was blissfully unaware that people were speculating as to whether or not she is a lesbian. But if she didn’t know before, she definitely knows now.

Monae made an appearance on “Sway In the Morning” to promote the new album, and once again, the conversation inevitably turned to the rumors that she is lesbian or bisexual.

For her part, Monae tried to give a very “politically correct” answer when Sway asked about the rumors.

“Women are amazing … and so are guys,” Monae stated. “There’s nothing wrong with being bisexual, there’s nothing wrong with being lesbian or gay. I am an advocate. I have friends who are in same-sex relationships and I feel love has no sexual orientation. Love has no religious belief. Love is the purest and most important thing we can possess for ourselves and for others.”
But when Sway pressed further, Monae made it clear that her personal life is personal, while also indicating that she has no problem with the fact that she’s become something of a sex symbol to women as well as men.
“I keep my personal life very much to myself. I want everybody to focus on my music. I also don’t want to let anybody down. I want women to still be attracted to me. Go get my album! I want men to still be attracted to me so I have to be political in this. So I can’t really tell y’all!”

Liam Hemsworth Caught Kissing Eiza González a Day After Miley Split Reveal

rs_634x1024-130917192711-634.Liam-Hemsworth-Eiza-Gonzalez-Kissing.1.ms.091713-1

Quite often in fact, what happens in Las Vegas does not just stay there.

Liam Hemsworth was spotted kissing singer-actress Eiza González at her apartment complex in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, just a few days after going clubbing with her in Vegas—and barely a day after it was confirmed that he and Miley Cyrus had called off their 15-month engagement.

While a source said yesterday that Eiza and Liam had "just met," most likely in Vegas, it appears that they really hit it off.

We're told that Liam stopped by her place just after 3:30 p.m. to give her a piece of luggage. Judging by her shorts and sports bra combo, Eiza may have been working out when her visitor arrived.

Liam was only there for about five minutes but they both looked very happy together, chatting closely before the kissing started.

Eiza then smiled and waved goodbye as Liam drove off. So, these two are getting along...

A source told us that Eiza, who broke up with her boyfriend earlier this summer after about two years together, only recently moved to L.A. in order to pursue acting opportunities in American films.

In fact, she had only been living in L.A. for about two weeks before her Vegas trip, during which she and Liam chatted over drinks at the Wynn Resort nightclub XS on Saturday.

Eiza, who also spent time with Liam on Monday, is due back in Mexico tomorrow for an appearance for the DVD release of the Spanish-language version of Disney's The Croods.

"I've been single for a while and I have to say it's going very well," read a quote she posted to Instagram a few weeks ago. "Like...It's working out. I think I'm the one."

So far, so good, indeed.

'Mike WiLL Made It' Defends Miley Cyrus and Talks Signing to Interscope

0

mike & miley

Mike WiLL Made It premiered his latest single "23" on Hot 107.9 Atlanta earlier this week. He also took the time to announce he's now signed to Interscope Records and has his own label, Eardrumma Records. It's a big step for the Atlanta producer, but right now he's just focusing on growing his career and promoting his own label.

"23" will be included on Mike WiLL Made It's upcoming album Est. in 1989 Pt. 3. The song features appearances from Miley Cyrus, Juicy J, and Wiz Khalifa. On the song, Miley raps and sings the hook. It's obviously not their first collaboration, as Mike has played a big hand in Miley's forthcoming Bangerz album as executive producer. Plus, Mike is responsible for her hit single "We Can't Stop," too. We sat down with Mike WiLL Made It to ask about his response to all of the controversy surrounding Miley's VMA performance, what to expect from his new album, and why he chose to sign to Interscope.

You just announced that your label, Eardrumma Records, is signed to Interscope. What went into that decision?
I just feel like it was time to take things to the next level and help those who helped me. I feel like I’m in a good position right now and I can expand a lot of my ideas. I can’t make it all come from me, I can’t continue to be my manager, my everything. I can’t do all that anymore. EarDrumma was already a successful company but it’s time to make it into a real company, to have a staff, and to [help] those on who always helped me. I want to help them, bless them, and build my company.

The fact that anybody would say anything to Miley about rapping...the only reason they would say that is because she’s white. And I never knew you had to be black, white, Asian, or whatever to rap, I thought you had to just be talented.

The first single off of the mixtape is “23.’ The last time we talked was before you became close with Miley. Now you both are inseparable. What’s your response to all of the controversy around her right now?
I look at her like how I do music. She is a fan of all music, just like I am. A lot of times, older people don’t get the new generation. The new generation will listen to a pop song, a hard ass hood song, and come back and listen to another pop song. "23" is a representation of that and for those people. But, for the people that are stuck in only the hip-hop box or only the pop box, that song wasn’t for them. Or it’s there to break them out of their box. The fact that anybody would say anything to her about rapping, the only reason they would say that is because she’s white. And I never knew you had to be black, white, Asian, or whatever to rap, I thought you had to just be talented.

With rapping, that’s just another form of expressing your music. Whether you’re going to rap, you’re going to sing, it’s whatever you want. She still sings on that song, so it’s just another way to express it. It’s just a good song. As long as it’s good, nothing matters. She does her thing. As far as rapping goes, as long as you are telling the truth and you have a good flow, then you win.

Was that the first time you heard her rapping?
We did that at the same time we did “We Can’t Stop.” I think we did it the same day. I let her hear it and she said, "I can pull that off." I said, "Yeah right" and she said, "I can, for real." She went and knocked it out.

She’s just a fan of urban culture. She comes from the country culture and pop culture so she knows that, so she’s a fan of the urban culture in the way that I am from the urban culture and am from the hood and am a fan of the pop world.

What other songs on Bangerz did you produce on?
I've got eight songs on there. I executive produced the album.

She was working with Pharrell a lot before, did she switch up her style after you guys worked on "We Can't Stop?"
Her and Pharrell are like brother and sister. Pharrell is an Aires too, so me and Pharrell think alike. She’s just a fan of urban culture. She comes from the country culture and pop culture so she knows that, so she’s a fan of the urban culture in the way that I am from the urban culture and am from the hood but I am a fan of the pop world. That’s why I wanted to work with her. Pharrell is a legend. She ended up just taking a liking to my sound.

It's apparent that you two are fans of each other. Does all of this controversy surrounding her bother you?
People are going to hate. A lot of times, it’s the media that is hating and not the real people, the real people are saying, "What’s the big deal?" Anything she does, if she claps her hands three times they will say, "Oh man, why didn’t she clap four times?" If she came out to the VMAs and she wasn’t twerking and she wasn’t doing all that, everybody would’ve said, "Oh she was supposed to twerk why didn’t she twerk. She’s not real." They would shoot her down regardless because she is successful.

When you are white and successful, it’s hard for them to accept you trying to do anything black. When you are black and successful, you’re supposed to do some real ni***rish shit so they can talk and shoot you down or you are supposed to do the white way and they will call you perfect.

When you are successful you get people to talk, and when people watch you grow up and play a role on Disney, they are going to put her in that box and stay in that box. She’s not that character, she’s herself. It is what it is. It’s part of the world and country we live in. When you are white and successful, it’s hard for them to accept you trying to do anything black. When you are black and successful, you’re supposed to do some real niggerish shit, so they can talk and shoot you down. Or you are supposed to do it the white way and they will call you perfect. She’s 20 years old, a fan of music, and extremely talented and she can do anything. She just proved that.

I feel like you’ve been so excited about working with her, what is one thing she taught you and what is one thing you taught her?
One thing she taught me is that she’s really good with country harmonies. I always told her, "Be yourself and don’t try to sound like another else. Be yourself." So sometimes I would be vocal producing and she would have to do it because we would bump heads if I would vocal produce her. So when she was in the booth, I would leave the room, then come back and blend different things and tell her what she needed to fix.

I feel like one thing she taught me was about country harmonies. She put me on different old rock bands and country songs and I put her on Est. 1989, old Gucci Mane mixtapes, all that shit. It was like a history lesson. I taught her how to be in different pockets. I’m 24, she’s 20, we have a long way to go. I feel like she’s the next Madonna for real. Madonna is 55? So she’s got 35 years to put in work.

What is the other big feature that your really excited about on your upcoming album?
I got a lot of different people. I’m excited about the whole thing. I’ve been working with will.i.am, Puff, Future, Chainz, Gucci, Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, everyone. Up and coming artists like the artists signed to me, McCoanan, Joey, and Atlanta artists like Two9. It’s really however I can get 10 perfect songs. Whenever I get 10 perfect songs, my album will be complete.

Cher rips Miley's dancing, song, physique, oral hygiene

Cher has a few choice words about the Miley Cyrus twerk-a-thon on MTV's Video Music Awards.

The hyperactive, sexual performance with Robin Thicke was "so bad," says the famously outspoken diva, 67.

But not for reasons that riled most skittish viewers. Cher, no stranger to controversy and scandal, didn't find any shock value in Cyrus' tongue-wagging, booty-thumping display.

"I'm not old-fashioned,"
Cher tells USA TODAY in an interview to promote new album Closer to the Truth. "She could have come out naked, and if she'd just rocked the house, I would have said, 'You go, girl.' It just wasn't done well. She can't dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn't great, one cheek was hanging out. And, chick, don't stick out your tongue if it's coated."

The performance seemed ill-conceived, Cher adds.

"If you're going to go that far, then think about it before you do it," she says.

Cher made waves for her 1989 If I Could Turn Back Time video shot before sailors aboard the USS Missouri battleship. She wore a body stocking over a skimpy swimsuit that revealed her tattooed bottom.

Benedict Cumberbatch: 'Imitation Game' Set

0

He is best known as this generation's incarnation of Sherlock Holmes and he wouldn't be the eccentric detective without his head of curly dark hair.

But it seems Benedict Cumberbatch has parted with his trademark look to film new Second World War drama The Imitation Game in London.

The 37-year-old actor had his hair parted harshly to one side and slicked down in a straight style.

He also appeared to be sporting a lighter a hue than the raven locks viewers of Sherlock will be familiar with but the actor is naturally fair.

The Public School-educated actor wore a grey dog-tooth jacket and shirt and tie to shoot the scenes in which he portrays Alan Turing, a real- life mathematician who helped to crack the enigma code during the war against Nazi Germany.

Turing was later tried for being a homosexual in homophobic 1950s Britain and is believed to have later committed suicide.

An ONTD Original: Is it written in the stars? Sagittarian Songtresses!!!

With Brit's new single, Xtina's return to "The Voice," and Miley's continuing of being Miley- I decided it's time to take a look at these Lucky Ladies and their Lady Luck sign.

zodiac-wheel

Sag Girls

Sun in Sagittarius

The sun, our “boss planet” that expresses how we show ourselves (and therefore, our other planets) to the world finds a fantastic landing spot in Sagittarius. Many astrologers consider Sagittarian’s bestowed with good luck, always having opportunity show up when they need it; and maybe it’s cosmic divinity that this happens to them over others because they’re restless, adventurous spirits who always want to be anywhere but where they are… but it goes much deeper than just the “wide eyed adventurer” ploy that gets peddled around.

In Sagittarius is where we first begin to realize our our individual connection to the rest of the universe and what our place is in the grand scheme of things. This is why they’re given the label of “adventurer” and “philosopher,” but even then, it’s more about breaking the glass ceiling, breaking our own boundaries to complete our identity, and depending on other aspects of the chart, Sagittarian’s can be anyone from your well-traveled bookworm professor to a grungy, hipster rock climber, or even some of the biggest pop stars of the world. They really are a jack of all trades, fighting through the rough patches by looking ahead to what chance may befall them tomorrow.

The problem with Sagittarius of course, is that from this adventurous nature, comes a very real need for freedom- they need to do what they need to do, if you want to go, that’s cool, but if you don’t, then they’re 99% likely to go without you. They also have a case of “dish it out and not take it,” where they have no problem being completely upfront with you but once you’ve insulted their ideologies, you have a real tantrum on your hands. Sagittarius is still a fire sign, and with all fire, it’s comforting and warm to be around, but if you get too close, you’ll get burned- and just like fire spreads in an instant and devours all, so does Sagittarius.

Xtina Chart

Despite the trainwreck that some of us around here would like to believe Christina Aguilera is, we probably aren’t giving her enough credit for what a fantastically fierce woman she actually is… First of all, she has THREE exalted planets in her chart. When a planet is exalted, it basically means that the sign the planet lands in is going to treat it very well, like an honored guest, and do everything in the planet’s best interest. Her first one is Mars in Capricorn, you can think of it as the bratty little kid (Mars) behaving like a perfect angel when Grandma (Capricorn) comes to visit, and doing everything it’s told. Since Mars is the planet that lights a fire under our ass and tells us what motivates us, when it lands in Capricorn, the goat has no problem getting it off it’s ass and getting to business.

Another exalted planet Xtina has is her Moon in Taurus. The moon is the keeper of our feelings, memories, and deepest needs. Some people may relate more to their moon signs because we “live through them” always calling on the moon to tell us how we feel about something, to recall our past experiences, and to let us know what it really is that keeps the rest of us fighting everyday. Taurus is able to contain the moon’s rapid changing emotional tide, while still allowing it to express itself creatively without any boundaries. When expressed through the Sag sun, it is a force to be reckoned with: The Taurean moon will bring a strong sense of routine to the otherwise flaky Sagittarius sun and will also bring a sharp common sense and not let the Sag Sun get too carried away in it’s ideologies or adventuring. The problem is inertia, Taurus is an Earth sign and exists on the physical plane, so it follows the laws of physics, mainly inertia- it’s slow to get moving, but once it does, it will not stop until it has achieved what it set out to do. It can really stall the Sag-Sun which wants to be done with everything yesterday and on to the new thing today.(Other Sagittarian's with a Taurus moon include Lucy Lui & Jim Morrison)

Yet, still, people see her as some sloppy, half hearted has-been? Well that’s the effect of her Aquarius rising for you (and I can speak on this personally, because I have one as well). Aquarius is an air sign, so it exists in the social/intellectual plane and, just like air, they only want to skim the surface of something and move along quickly, which gives the impression to the outer world that they are insincere and lack any tact, even though they are still friendly, outgoing, and great conversationalists. With Aquarius rising, the sign of “the group consciousness (aka society/social groups as a whole),” they naturally pick up on societal observation and gain a quick social intuition of how we all interact together, which gets heightened when expressed through her Sag sun, which wants to understand it’s place in relation to that society, but can use this power to become overly idealistic and get too snarky poking fun of the holes they discover.

Xtina has definitely experienced the highs and lows of herself. Her drive should be obvious from the fact that once she was not getting what she wanted from her music career, her Jack of all trades Sag Sun hopped on over to The Voice, and she was able to 1) still rack in the dough (which is very important to her Taurean moon) as well as 2) express herself creatively and 3) mentors others (ding! ding! ding! for Aquarius rising) and help lead them to discovering their own identity, as her Sag sun uses the process to continue discovering itself. Yet, we all know she has been a victim to her own gluttony, over indulgence, and ego, and is sometimes too “ahead of her time.”

Britney Chart

Well, if Christina is seen as a trainwreck, then there really aren’t words for the way that Britney has been portrayed. People go as far as calling her dead behind the eyes and a zombie, but what is it that isn’t being seen? We talked about Aquarius with Xtina’s rising, but the difference here is that only Xtina’s perception and their perception of her is being dictated by Aquarius, but for Brit, the moon- therefore her emotional and instinctive responses are being taken over by Aquarius, so we have to look at the Aquarian emotional nature- and, well, it doesn’t exist. Aquarius is known for being emotionally unavailable, and the moon needs a way to express it’s emotional nature. They are compassionate in an altruistic sense, and will willingly give to a “group cause” in a rather removed way (like donating money) but has a disadvantage in one on one situations because they do not really experience emotional attachment (and Brit doesn’t have any water in her chart to counteract this) and while they have divine love of individuality (not to get it twisted with Sagittarius, who is more about independence), and our right to our own, they do better supporting the group cause and ultimate progression of society. Not to get it too twisted though, Lunar Aquarians still have a strong sense of social intuition (it is the sign of social groups and friendship after all) and will always know how to fit in.

It’s interesting because with her Sag sun and Aquarius moon, she’s very full of ideas, progressive, creative and awkward intensity, yet, we still hear that she’s boring. However, with her Libra rising (Katy Perry has this as well), I think “boring” may be getting confused for the overly-friendly and peaceful impression that comes with Libra rising. Libra hates to rock the boat and Brit will always try to keep everyone happy and from being mad at her. Mars in her 12th house (house of secrets and undoing) adds to this, because it indicates that she will keep the things that make her angry (which Mars rules) a secret and never really speak out about the things that piss her off. It can work for or against her… with a fellow air sign ruling her perspective, she’s seeing thing in a way her moon is able to process, but with speak your mind Sag sun going head to head with the polite Libra rising, she is really going to run into mixed signals.

We can definitely see how the innovative Aquarius moon has revealed it’s progressive artistic nature through her bold Sagittarius sun- at the top of her game, she was carrying snakes around her neck, getting her “jack of all trades” on through singing, dancing, and acting (I know y’all still watch Crossroads, so don’t even lie) and yet, the rebellious nature of a confined Aquarius moon (which lands in her 5th house of fun & games) began to work against her, as the freedom loving Sag sun took advantage of this need for rebellion and ran with it. We may all agree she went a little too far breaking her boundaries (I mean, hanging out with Lilo and P. Hilton is nagl), but, where many may not have, she came back to the Circus, and it shows a true testament to the optimistic Sagittarian spirit.

I saved some of the most interesting notes for last. If you paid attention, you know I only mentioned two of Xtina’s 3 exalted planets. The last one is Saturn in Libra, which Brit also has. Saturn is the planet that gives us our discipline, it teaches us our lessons in life and makes the rules we live our life by- in Libra, the Saturn is bestowed the gift of fairness, the ability to see both sides of a situation and weigh it accordingly to make decisions and with the Libran air quality of conceptual logic, Saturn knows it’s boundaries of responsibility while still understanding the true nature of relationships. The difference is that Xtina experiences it in her 7th house of relationships, so she will experience Saturn’s restrictions and limitations in her personal life, but with Jupiter in the same degree, she is also allowed the most opportunities to grow in her personal life as well. Brit experiences her Saturn in Libra in her first house, the house of self. This could explain why so many of her hardships have been related to her “crisis of identity.” However, she gets lucky with planet of Luck Jupiter in the darkest of all places on our chart: Scorpio. And, in a strange way, her darkest time is what also gave her the greatest chance- once her family got her back under their wing, Saturn in her first house when back to work- this time, she got the gift of picking herself back up. Saturn works sort of in a team with Jupiter, the planet of our personal growth and expansion. Before Saturn can truly become effective in setting up the structure for our lives, Jupiter first has to break out and discover how far is too far, so we can allow Saturn to build the walls where we need them. And Britney is a testament to the power behind these two planets.

Another interesting note is the “chart patterns” in both their charts. Xtina has a “bucket pattern” with all the planets in the top portion of her chart , except her moon , which lays across from them on the bottom part of her chart, creating “the handle” of the bucket. To have a lot of planets in your top half is representative of someone with more outward energy and motivation. If you visualize the chart as a 3D sphere (say, like, the Earth) and we’re standing in the center of it, the top half of the chart is houses 7 through 12 are considered to be “seen best” by the outside world, which is why these individuals tend to have outer aim, seeking gratification through the public and society. On the bottom half, we have all our personal houses (1 through 5), and when there are more planets in that half, the person has more inward motivation and aim- they only want to satisfy their own goals and personal pursuits, and these houses are seen as “hidden” from the outside world, as they’re under our feet. I think it’s interesting to see in Xtina and Brit, like on The Voice vs. The X-Factor, Xtina is much more outgoing, connects with people better, and has a good time with it; and on X-Factor, Brit has a harder time with those things, and keeps to herself, yet still possesses great inner motivation.

And the last little thing: an asteroid called Chrion, aka, the wounded healer. It tells how we our spirit is “wounded” and what must be healed in our lifetime. Both Brit and Xtina have Chiron in Taurus points to issues regarding material worth, including our bodies (the greatest tangible tool we have), and will give pain for pleasure of the senses.

Miley Chart

Miley is Queen Try hard, amirite? Or our we all wrong? To be honest, I am surprised that there are so many Miley haters because she has something in common with quite a few ONTDers (and I have the chartwork to prove it) and that’s a Scorpio moon…

First let’s talk about Sagittarius a little bit more. Miley has her sun basically sitting on her ascendant- it’s very powerful because it means that your creative energy and outward expression (all under the sun’s rule) is in line perfectly with her impressions and ambitions. She presents herself and is seen as a Sagittarius, and that type on double whammy makes for a very strong personality (regardless of what that personality actually is) and we will see it at it’s best and at it’s worst. I think we all agree that she has some basic Sag traits in abundance: She’s a lucky little fuck, keeps a good disposition, she can’t be “tamed,” is very candid, unpredictable with that “now or never” attitude and has that very fiery sense of energy. I think we also all suffer from her insufferableness.

This is where Moon in Scorpio makes things very interesting. Scorpio, which we’ve talked about in previous posts, is, first and foremost, in it to win it. Relentless, determined, survivor. That’s Scorpio. Yet, as a water sign, the Scorpio power to be those things comes from an emotional place. They ARE the armchair psychologist of the zodiac. The greater they understand and experience the power of emotion, of the darkest places we go in our mind, the more control they feel they have. When the moon lands here, Scorpio turns turns the moons emotional ties into pure power. Moon in Scorpio knows that by understanding emotions, specifically, the darkest ones, it can connect to people, read people, manipulate people. Yet, Scorpio does not let the emotions of the moon show, and will even kill any emotions that cause too much internal suffering, thinking that gives them their control back. The problem comes with Scorpio’s defiance. Sagittarius is idealistic, and their ideals are all revolved around freedom and independence and a person’s right to experience life the way they want too…

With Miley, she holds her freedom loving ideals high, and her Scorpio moon backs it up and responds with defiance. Sagittarius loves a challenge, and Moon in Scorpio makes that challenge a personal issue, and will back idealistic Sag with willpower. It’s also where she gets this “haters make me rich” thing- one thing Scorpio does not allow is letting anyone think they got the best of you, and that works out fine for the Sagittarian ego. So, I hate to say it, but the more people push her to be different, the more she will strive to prove that she can be successful just the way she is. However, she does get the intuition of Scorpio moon, which is always spot on- as a water sign- it’s perceptive, and can read between the lines, the problem is that because Sagittarius is so identity-centric, she may never learn how to use the tools that comes with her moon in Scorpio. I think, as of now, she is willing to trust her instincts when it comes to business (thanks to Lucky Jupiter in her 10th house of career), but, she hasn’t quite, and may never, learn how to harness the Scorpio instincts and relate them outwardly in a way that doesn’t directly relate to her discovering her own identity.

She has a couple interesting chart aspects. First, I noticed Chiron in Leo- we talked about it Chiron above, and in Leo, it would take on challenges relating to having one’s creative self-expression (which Leo rules) taken seriously. One of the “wounds” this individual would have to heal is related to others not appreciating them for who they are. As far as her chart pattern goes, all of her planets fall on the left side, which is indicative of someone who takes action, makes their own circumstances, and leaves their mark on the world (as opposed to the right side, which would show someone who has things happen to them, and lets those circumstances leave an impression on who they are).

A blurp on her & Liam: Yes, yes my friends, I believe we may have a PR war on our hands with these two… Liam is a Capricorn with a Leo moon. Both of these signs are image signs. Capricorn is actually the sign of public image, and many of them (depending on other chart aspects) are quietly obsessed with their image. His Leo moon ain’t helping- Yes, it’s true that Lunar Leo’s will give all their love to get the entirety of another’s love back in return; this is why they’re an image sign, because they do feel most like “themselves” when someone is adoring them, but, with the Leo moon, you get an ego, and Capricorn sun is good at expressing it’s ego in a constructive way that will help them with their ultimate goal- but it IS still ego. I would definitely say that those of us who have been making the assumption that he 1) hated her new look and 2) wanted a trophy wife who will adore him, are probably spot on. From this point on, I suspect that Miley will turn to her defensive, defiant, but always surviving Scorpio moon to shut her pain down and keep pushing forward- but, we will see more behavioral outbursts as she “tries hard” (pun intended, in case you missed it) to show everyone (but mostly Liam) that she is fine. Liam, not wanting to look like he is playing her games (although totally will be), is going to be more quiet, but impactful.

So, the real question is, what the fuck did he see in her to begin with then? Well, he DOES have Mars in Sagittarius, so, he definitely does have a fun sexual nature. The difference is that Capricorn sun doesn’t feel the need to express it to everyone, so he probably was attracted to her wild side, and with Venus in Aquarius, he is rather detached from the actual emotions of “being in love” so it wouldn’t necessarily bother him to date someone more emotionally unavailable. However, the problem is probably that he didn’t realize just HOW emotional Miley can be- while also forever trying to out do herself. Ultimately, his moon, being vain from Leo being expressed through the image conscious and cautious-in-general Capricorn sun couldn’t get behind that much adventure and free spirit.

Well, since my original OP note got my post rejected (no hard feelings mods- I shouldn't try to entertain myself at the expense of others), I will end it with this instead: Taylor Swift is also a Sagittarian Songtress- but I already did a post about her- and with these three in the news, it seemed like time to strike while the iron is hot. And also, shit it's late. I hope everyone who wakes up in the morning and gets on this post still want to comment, lol.

First Set Pics from David Ayer's WWII Drama "Fury"

Filming has only just begun on David Ayer’s WWII tank action thriller “Fury,” but the director has already taken to Twitter to share the first official images from the film. Brad Pitt leads the cast that is rounded out by Michael Pena, Jon Bernthal, Shia LaBeouf and Logan Lerman.

Set in 1945 as the Nazi regime collapses, Pitt plays the Commander of a Sherman tank who leads a five-man crew in a battle against desperate German troops. All five leads are pictured in the surprisingly stylized photo Ayer shared today, lounging on their tank GQ style. Yesterday, Ayer also shared an in-camera close-up image of Lerman, looking a lot more bloody and war-ridden and certainly more grownup than he’s looked in any of his other roles.

Filming on “Fury” is now underway and a November 14, 2014 (read: very Oscar friendly) release is planned.

Kenichi Ebina

Hmm....he was good but not a million dollars/own show in Vegas good. Passing up the comedian as always (who was not as funny as Tom Cotter but still should've won). I passed up most of this season because Heidi and Mel B were just too insufferably boring.

Ciara Preps “Overdose” As Next Single, Unveils Cover Artwork

Ciara‘s highly excellent self-titled album may have failed to make as much of an impact as everyone hoped this summer, even off the success of “Body Party,” but there’s hope yet: She’s prepping the release of one of the LP’s very best tracks as her next single, and this one actually has a fighting shot on mainstream radio.

Yes, the searingly great “Overdose” has been selected as CiCi’s latest, and it’s a monster: Probably the purest pop track on the album, the fizzy pop tune made buzz when it leaked in half-finished form last year and sounds even better in its final version. If there is any justice on the charts (although we all know there isn’t), it’ll be a radio smash.

Ciara also unveiled the cover artwork for the song, which is typically provocative. Par for the course for the sultriest chick in the game.

The song impacts radio on October 14. Prepare your body for yet another party.

Chris Hemsworth: Nude scenes in 'Rush' were "intimidating"

In an interview with E!, 30-year-old hunky Aussie actor is talking about stripping down and getting naked in the first 10 minutes of his new racing flick Rush.

"I remember reading the script going, 'I wonder if that will stay in there?'" Hemsworth told E! News of the nude scene while at the Toronto International Film Festival. "And I said to [director] Ron [Howard], 'What's the rating on the film and where is it going to sit?' We shot it, yeah, and it's in there."

But Hemsworth, who plays Formula 1 racer James Hunt in the film, wasn't too nervous about the sexy scene. "I've been training a lot anyway but it's still pretty awkward," he smiled. "It's more intimidating than the driving scenes...a hundred people standing around and cameras and, 'Quick! Get your gear off.'"

He also says he hasn't heard anything about doing a sequel to his and Stewart's 2012 Huntsman flick. "I don't know," he dished. "If there's a hunger for another one. I had a great time making the film. I'm not sure what they plan on doing. I'm kind of booked up in Avengers [2], we do Avengers next year and that kind of takes up most of the year. And then press for Thor [2] this year and it just depends when we can squeeze it in. It's getting kind of narrower and narrower."
