Guess who I met on my birthday?

0
0

Adam Baldwin

They never gave me a jpeg :( I had my Jayne hat but I didn't realize that it was from the waist up.
He was nice I guess. Like, he wasn't rude but idk. Our hands are awkward as hale because I went to shake his hand like a normal Texan and he kinda grabbed it, asked me my name, and then turn and smile.

He did let me take a pic on my phone to send to my mom (she really loves Chuck). So nice points

Should have had my pic taken with Sean Maher

Look at him. Look at this man. I can't.
Who is really cute and adorable irl and the sweetest guy who gave me a birthday hug. He was all 'omg it's your birthday' then reached over the table to hug me.
But He hugged me. Perfection hugged me. I nearly fainted.

Also met Jewel Staite. Sorry about the crappy photo. Iphones do not do good with zoom.

she is really pretty too. And she called me babe and wrote stay shiny with her autograph :)

Ron Glass. Who we had to wait over an hour for :/

I did compliment him on his penmanship. Then he made fun of Adam's.

Alexis Cruz from the Stargate movie was my biggest fangirl moment.

when I get excited my eyes get big and awkward
I told him it was my birthday and he said OMG! It's your birthday? Awww then he came around and hugged me.
Then we talked Stargate, then people came up when they realized, hey he's awesome so we left.

Seriously one of the best birthdays ever! gpoy tbh

First post mods. I hope I did it right.

SMASH: listen to songs from "Callbacks", plus "20th Century Fox Mambo" video

0
0

Debuting after The Voice (which itself was riding high from a post-Super Bowl timeslot the previous night), NBC's new musical show, Smash, debuted to solid ratings with 11.5 million viewers tuning in to see fabulous performances by Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty, plus starring roles by such strong actresses as Debra Messing and Anjelica Huston.

The pilot brought us one cover, Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful," and two original songs, "The National Pastime" and "Let Me Be Your Star." If you found yourself enjoying this nice mix of originals and covers, then you'll be happy to know that each episode will continue the trend.

In next Monday's episode, "Callbacks," there will be four songs total performed: Blondie's "Call Me," Carrie Underwood's "Crazy Dreams," "20th Century Fox Mambo" (an original), as well as a reprise of last week's original, "Let Me Be Your Star." Take a listen to some of these songs for yourself:

Shocker: CW Ratings Collapse Could Cause More Than Expected Number Of Show Cancellations

0
0
Because the crack PR troops at the CW never rest, you may not have seen much in the entertainment media about the utter collapse of the network's ratings this season, but our readers know its adults 18-49 ratings are down 27% vs. last season. That's not "typical long term broadcast primetime erosion" (-5%), or even "NBC is FUBAR'd" declines (-11%), that's "dump whatever's not bolted down or the balloon's going to crash" territory.

In a weekly example that mirrors the entire season, during week 20 last season, Hellcats drew a network low 0.8 adults 18-49 rating for the week. That 0.8 was as good or better than all but two shows (The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural) on the CW last week (week 20 of this season).

The ratings decline is so steep that I fear the methods of the Renew / Cancel Index are not entirely reliable against such a situation, and that more shows than the ~2 cancellations predicted by the four shows in the normally 50/50 "toss up" range may occur at the end of the season. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if some combination of four shows (the most likely being Nikita, Hart of Dixie, Ringer & Gossip Girl) were canceled in a desperate bid to get as many new shows on the air as possible next Fall to try and find something that works. Of course, to do that, CBS and Warner Brothers would have to loosen up their checkbooks quite a bit more than they have recently for the CW. Will they do that? Sadly, they're not returning my calls.

Being a Nikita stan is so depressing.

ONTD,
What should be canceled?
What will be canceled?
Why aren't you watching Nikita (jw)?!

Did Saturday Night Live Steal Noel Wells' Material?

0
0

For those of you who don't know who Noel Wells is, she's a celebrity impersonator, improv comedian, and a youtube viral sensation. She's also an ONTD member, her LJ username is [info]prettypertelote.

A while back, she made a post about how Fox's show New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel ripped off the opening credit of her internet series Hey The Zooey Deschanel Show. The post has since been deleted. Did Fox paid her off?

However, last night on Saturday Night Live, when Zooey Deschanel hosted, there was one particular skit that seemed a bit too familiar. See for yourself:

Noel's Mary Kate Olsen (date: December 10, 2010)

SNL's Quirky Girl skit (date: February 11, 2012)

Side note: Noel mentioned that she had auditioned and met SNL creator Lorne Michaels, but sadly didn't make the cuts.

Do you think SNL writers took inspiration from Noel Wells?

The Benedict Cumberbatch Situation

0
0
There's a situation happening all across the world and so far, only the British news media seems to have reported upon it.

Right now there are numerous intelligent women across the land who are presently in crisis mode. It's all due to an actor whom you may or may not be aware of named Benedict Cumberbatch. You'll probably be very aware of him soon. He's currently shooting the new Star Trek movie, he appeared in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and War Horse, and he is the eponymous star of the BBC detective serial, Sherlock.

You also should know that Benedict Cumberbatch isn't a man. He's a situation that me and most of my friends are all having.

Since the last series of Sherlock aired, perfectly nice and law abiding ladies have been feverishly pirating copies of "The Reichenbach Fall" and posting dreamy GIFs of its climatic moments on tumblr. Clips from YouTube of Mr. Cumberbatch reading children's stories, imitating Alan Rickman and dancing to "Thriller" have been flooding Gmail inboxes across the globe. For my part, I actually built myself a "Cumbernest" this past weekend. Instead of leaving the house and meeting actual men, I surrounded my bed with wine, water, and British chocolate all in preparation to watch Cumberbatch star in the BBC movie Hawking. I then sent a friend multiple texts that essentially broke down to "Have you watched Hawking yet?", "Watch Hawking. Watch Hawking. Watch Hawking.", and finally, "MY NERVES."

So what is it about Benedict Cumberbatch that's so alluring? It's easy to see why women the world over swoon over Ryan Gosling. But Benedict Cumberbatch doesn't burst off the screen in rainbows and moonbeams the way guys like the Gosling do. Firstly, there's his name. It's a mouth full, to be sure, and can easily be broken down into jokes like Benneton Crumblymats or, you know, something way dirtier. He's never wooed Rachel McAdams or recorded a love song. He's pretty much just spent the last decade or so toiling away in the theater and in television productions.

There is, of course, his face. His unusual, striking, fascinating face. As my friend Gaby put it, "He looks like a weird hot alien," to which I replied, "And you know how much I like aliens!"

The thing that makes him look like an attractive extraterrestrial are his now legendary cheekbones. Other cheekbones have come before: Johnny Depp's, Katharine Hepburn's, Skeletor's. However, Mr. Cumberbatch's cheekbones are so high and so valleyed that they've sliced their way not just into the psyches of his fans, but his screenwriters. There's not one, but two, flattering references in the new Sherlock series to his bone structure. In both cases, it's suggested that Sherlock is loved for his face alone, but we know that's not true.

There's also his slanted moonstone eyes. And his mouth. Mouths are always appreciated.

Okay, I kid. (Sort of.)

It's true Benedict Cumberbatch has been snatching the hearts and minds of women with his actual appearance, but he's also been doing it with the level of confidence he has in his own abilities. Let me explain...

Most up-and-coming actors fall into one of two categories. A few of them like the Jesse Eisenbergs and Robert Pattinsons of the world have either ample talent and/or ample charm and are afraid of these things within them. They mumble. They stutter. They feign awkwardness around their legions of admiring female fans. They star in films with Kristen Stewart. However, even more actors fall into the opposite category. I'm talking your James Francos or (shiver) Kellan Lutzes. These guys may have talent, but that talent is insignificant compared to the size of their egos. For example, I know that James Franco went to film school and that Kellan Lutz once read a book in a tree, but I've never seen a film that Franco made or heard Lutz speak an intelligible sentence while standing on the ground.

The most rare and impressive stars in Hollywood today are men like George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Jon Hamm. They're good at what they're hired to do, and mostly importantly, they know they're good. You're not going to hear these guys talk about how good their game is because they can just show it. George Clooney can sell depressing movies as mainstream, Brad Pitt can tame Angelina Jolie and Jon Hamm can just be a goober-about-town. They do what they want -- and don't brag about it -- because they know they can get the job done. These guys exude confidence and confidence is sexy, and confidence is also what Benedict Cumberbatch has. I mean, you'd need confidence to introduce yourself to people as "Benedict Cumberbatch," right? Watch our dear Mr. Cumberbatch in any role and you'll see he knows what he is doing. He is neither showy nor needy in his actions. He boldly commits to his character and the results are spellbinding. When such a confident performer is joined with a famous character like Sherlock Holmes, whose every thought, twitch and action is executed with superhuman confidence, the result is a veritable supernova of confidence, and soon, typically independent young women like myself are building Cumbernests in their home. We're attracted to the confidence that Cumberbatch is exuding.

Oh, and yes, those cheekbones.

Of course, attraction is all a matter of taste and attraction to Cumberbatch isn't wholly universal.

"I don't know. I just have, like, a visceral reaction to his face," my friend Caitlin said over dinner to me last week.

I grinned. "I know, right?"

"No, no..." she shook her head as she unwittingly and poetically quoted T.S. Eliot, "That is not what I meant at all."

I just sipped my wine and shrugged and counted down the minutes until I could go home and finally start watching The Ends of the Earth on Netflix Instant Streaming. The Cumbernest called.

You would think this comes from a Tumblr fangirl but NOPE, it's from the Huffington Post

I think this pretty much covers the answer to ONTD's ultimate question in every Cumberbatch post tbh. They forgot THE VOICE, though.

Edit: Took the title off because tbh I was just making a reference to Simon Pegg's tweet

Edit 2: Says author "I *do* think he's a great actor, but I was purposely exaggerating for silly fun times. It was for HuffPo Comedy. It's satiric as most of my work is. Hopefully I'm the one being teased rather than my subject. I like to write about fandom in a fun and funny way!"

Gwyneth's Valentine's Day Sex Tips

0
0
Chicken breasts, Oils, Feathers, Kama Sutra

Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed how to make Valentine's Day go with a bang.

Valentine's Day is all about pounded chicken breasts and "secret sealed envelopes" containing sex instructions, according to Gwyneth Paltrow's latest GOOP newsletter, in which the actress professes that "this week's newsletter is not for you. It's for your other half."

And, if you happen to be single on Valentine’s Day these tips apply to you, too. Share this day with anyone you love and treat yourself. Cook a luxurious meal for you and a friend or go out and party. Your time is your own, so take advantage.

Doing something romantic for your loved one on Valentine’s Day is sweet. Doing something sweet for your loved one on any other day is romantic. Here are some tips on how to bring some Valentine’s Day magic to any time of day on any day of the week, without busting your wallet or schedule.

So what can Gwynnie's husband, Coldplay crooner Chris Martin, expect this upcoming rose-tinged Tuesday?

7AM: Surprise them by pre-loading this playlist onto their iPod:

8AM: Breakfast in bed: Greek Berry Yogurt Parfait, Easy, Cheesy Omelette, Super-Simple Side Salad, Freshly squeezed orange juice and French press coffee.

While breakfast in bed on a Saturday is lovely, breakfast in bed on a weekday is completely unexpected, and truly special. We’ve listed some super-simple recipes for even the most culinarily-challenged that can be prepared in five minutes or less to bring some unexpected romance to an otherwise normal day.

The presentation of this parfait fools your loved one into thinking you’ve toiled for her/his pleasure when it fact the preparation is about as simple as pouring a bowl of cereal.

11AM: Hijack their phone with an alarm to check their pockets.

11AM: Leave "Love Notes" in their pockets / bags / wallet.

3PM: Create a flower bouquet with "Love Notes".

Here’s a very simple project that goes a little beyond the typical bouquet. Maybe these arrive via delivery. Maybe you deliver?

6PM: Simple Dinner - Chicken Paillard.

One of the simplest and best, pleasures in life has to be coming home to a warm plate of food, especially when it’s been cooked by the person you love. Despite the fancy name, Chicken Paillard is one of the simplest dishes to make. The pounding not only tenderizes the meat, but it reduces cooking time to about five minutes for each cutlet. When paired with a simple salad (recipe above) this makes a beautiful, healthy and satisfying meal.

10PM: Sex with the Kama Sutra, Oils, Feathers, Honey Dust, Pleasure Balm.

This little kit, small enough to carry discretely in your purse or a large pocket, includes love oil, a pleasure balm and even some honey dust with a titillating little feather applicator for some fun wherever you end up.

10PM: Thrilling “secret sealed envelopes” with "love tasks".

This is not just another sex book. 101 Nights of Grrreat Sex uses “secret sealed envelopes” with special instructions for a love task or favor that each partner tears out and completes for one another. Sounds simple but the anticipation and mystery makes even the smallest gestures pretty thrilling.

Jonas Brothers doing stuff: Nick's new promo pics from Smash; Joe & Kevin 's Ride Along

0
0

NBC released some new promo pictures from the 2/27 episode of Smash featuring Nick Jonas, and Kevin and Joe took part in a new web series where celebs let cameras ride along with them to events:

Nick Jonas' usual demographic may be much more Glee, but in two weeks he will be appearing on TV's other musical, Smash.

Playing the precocious child star Lyle West with eyes for just about every woman in the room, Jonas comes into the story when Derek (Jack Davenport) throws him a birthday party. It's a bit of contention between Derek and Tom (Christian Borle) over who discovered this star years earlier during a shared production of "Oliver Twist," but these days Lyle (and Jonas!) is all grown up and much more interested on wooing ladies with his seemingly suave charm, instead of making them coo over how adorable he may be.

All of Manhattan's elite artists are at this party, so naturally that means Julia (Debra Messing) and Ivy (Megan Hilty), and when Eileen (Anjelica Huston) catches wind of just how rich Lyle is these days, she decides to strike up a business deal with Lyle to help her fund the new "Marilyn" musical.

But Lyle isn't just wealthy and cocky-- he's also smart, and he knows better than to make a deal sight unseen. So Eileen and Julia gather a few more players from their show to perform for him and entice him to invest.

Although, he's still young enough that Ivy simply giving him the time of day may have been enticement enough...

And don't worry, all you Jonas Brothers fans, Jonas doesn't come into the episode (entitled "The Cost of Art") without taking the mic and singing a tune himself.

Source

Nick also found the time to give a backstage tour of the dressing rooms at How to Succeed in Business:

http://youtu.be/ocD0s_63HUs

While Nick's been busy winning over other Broadway stars, Joe & Kevin let Cambio.com's camera ride along with them to a Rock the Vote event in LA, and along the way shared some details about things like sleeping arrangements and Joe's Valentine's Day plans:

http://youtu.be/h0C2BY0zb80

You already know that Kevin and Joe Jonas attended the Rock the Vote kick-off party for the 2012 election and the Rock the Vote apparel launch at Fred Segal, but only we was there with the guys every step of the way before they walked the carpet. We rode along with Kevin and Joe from Joe's Los Angeles apartment as a part of a new Cambio series, Ride Along, where we take you along for the ride with celebrities... wherever they happen to be heading.

On our ride with Kevin and Joe, the guys revealed some secrets, like that Joe doesn't have a Valentine this year and that the two guys slept in the same bed the night before.

"Whatever, we're brothers, not big deal, but I happened to grab him in the middle of the night," Joe said.

According to Kevin, Joe likes to keep his room nice and toasty warm. The guys also talked about what they did earlier that day.

"I drove over and saw mom, and picked up Frankie from school," Kevin said. "I saw the photos online," replied Joe with a smirk.

Kevin and Joe also shared that Kevin can control the lighting and temperature of his house in New Jersey on his phone. High-tech, much? He even spilled about a little prank he played on his wife, Danielle, from across the country.

Fans greeted Kevin and Joe at the event at Fred Segal, where the boys confirmed that they are going to start writing new music together soon.

New U.S. dubbed clips from 'Arrietty' featuring Will Arnett, Amy Pohler, Carol Burnett

0

Four clips from the Studio Ghibli film 'The Secret World of Arrietty' have been released!

The film will open in North America on February 17.

First-time director Hiromasa Yonebayashi re-imagines Mary Norton's 1952 novel The Borrowers by moving the story to a Tokyo suburb. The story revolves around Arrietty (voiced by Bridgit Mendler), a member of the "little people" who live under the floorboards of a regular human family's home, and their struggle to remain hidden from the human "beans." Will Arnett and Amy Poehler — a real-life couple — voice Arrietty's father and mother.

The movie originally opened in Japanese theaters in July 2010 with supervision by Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki. The film also received a different English dub in the United Kingdom (featuring Saoirse Ronan), and the film already ran in theaters there in August.

Cristiano Ronaldo gets a new ride

Real Madrid and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo apparently treated himself to a new car for his 27th birthday on February 5, 2012. A Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 supercar was delivered to the Madrid restaurant where the footballer was having dinner with his family.

Cristiano chose his sports car, which retails for around £215,000, in an on-trend matte black. The limited edition supercar can hit 62mph in under three seconds and boasts a top (stock!) speed of 217 mph/349 kmph.

He was pictured having the tank filled at a petrol station in Madrid on February 10.

Recently, during a victory over Levante, Cristiano scored a hat trick, and simultaneously netted Real Madrid's 4,000th La Liga goal at the Santiago Bernabeu. The win put Real Madrid 10 points clear at the top of the Spanish La Liga table.
