'Survivor's' Ethan Zohn, Jenna Morasca break up

0
0

The "Survivor" and "Amazing Race" competitors, who told CNN in 2011 that they'd gone through "pretty much everything" together, said in a statement on Monday that making the choice to separate was a difficult one.

"It is with a much consideration and a heavy heart that we are announcing that after 10 years of a loving relationship, the decision was made to move on without each other," the couple said in a joint statement.

"We will carry with us the memories of a relationship grounded in love, laughter, support and friendship. We have experienced some of life's greatest joys and toughest challenges together, and our decision to be apart can never diminish that."

Zohn and Morasca met during the finale of 2003's "Survivor: Amazon," which 32-year-old Morasca won. Zohn, 39, earned a champion title himself with "Survivor: Africa." The reality star was also involved in a battle off-screen against Hodgkins lymphoma, a fight that Morasca helped him through.

"There’s really nothing that we haven’t gone through and worked through," Zohn told CNN ahead of their debut on "The Amazing Race" in September 2011. "We’re extremely comfortable with each other. And we are competitive and we know if we get in an argument that we will work through it and there will be smiles on the other side.”

As of now, in light of their breakup, the pair are hoping their fans will understand their desire for privacy.

"We want to thank everyone for their support and we ask that our privacy be respected as we move forward."

Les Mis Round-Up: Stage Alumni to Perform at Oscars with Film Cast & Song List for Deluxe Soundtrack

From stage to screen — and now back again.

Les Miserables fans who’ve longed for the stars of the Oscar-nominated film to join forces in a live performance will see their wish come true this Sunday at the Academy Awards.

At rehearsals for the show Friday, Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, Aaron Tveit, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Helena Bonham Carter took part in a massive production number made up of a medley from the film, including the Oscar-nominated original song “Suddenly.”

They weren’t alone. It was a Les Mis reunion in more ways than just the movie …

The chorus for the performance was made up of cast members who’ve appeared in a number of different versions of the show around the world, including the U.S. tour, the most recent Broadway revival, the production in London’s West End, and the Hollywood Bowl concert.

“What an amazing way to end one of the most extraordinary years in Les Mis history. The old girl still has plenty of life in her at 28,” said Cameron Mackintosh, producer of the stage show and film, who was helping coordinate the presentation.

Also lending a hand was the film’s director, Tom Hooper, who popped forward between each rehearsal of the number to consult with Jackman and Hathaway.

In the film, they occasionally sang duets, but ensemble songs tended to feature each actor cut together in montage from a different location, as with “One Day More.” The Oscars will mark the first time the major stars from the cast have performed as a group.

At least they’ve each got experience singing their numbers live, since Hooper nixed the use of lip-synched tracks during the shoot.

Les Miserables - Complete Song List for Deluxe Film Soundtrack

The "deluxe", 2 CD soundtrack version of Tom Hooper's film adaptation of the stage musical LES MISERABLES will be released on March 18, and the movie's UK Facebook page has just announced the track list. See the songs below!

Lead producer Cameron Mackintosh was quoted by the BBC as stating: "Post-production on the Les Miserables film was extremely tight, with recording of the orchestra, final edit and sound mix having to be completed in only a few weeks. There was only enough time to remix a limited number of tracks so that at least a highlights album could be released for the fans before Christmas. We are delighted with the success of that album and very pleased that we can now add 22 more tracks."

Start buying little leather dresses! Kim Kardashian and Kanye West just found out they're expecting a baby girl, a source close to the pregnant reality star tells Us Weekly exclusively.

"They're over the moon!" a source close to the first-time parents-to-be tells Us. "Kanye always wanted a girl."

Kardashian, 32, and West, 35, began dating in April 2012 and announced they were expecting on Dec. 30.

The couple's daughter, due in July, will no doubt be very well dressed. "If anyone knows Kanye, they just know how into fashion he is, and I think he's going to have things specially made," Kim said of the rapper and fashion designer on Jimmy Kimmel Live in January. "So I don't think hand-me-downs are going to work."

"He is so excited," she gushed. "It's really cute how excited he is."

Until the baby arrives, Kardashian is focused on taking good care of her body.

"I used to always say I can't wait to get pregnant because I will just eat whatever I want, but it's completely different," she told the spring issue of Du Jour magazine. "I'm like, OK, I want to eat as healthy as possible. Though lately I've been watching shows like I'm Pregnant and Addicted to Meth. It definitely makes me feel better if I'm wanting one sip of Diet Coke or, you know, too much sugar. I'm like, This woman is on meth."

Kardashian and West's baby girl will join cousins Mason, 3, and Penelope, 7 months.

Jessica Chastain Vs. Jennifer Lawrence: Charming Showdown!

0
0

Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Lawrence have been neck and neck in the Best Actress races throughout awards season, and they've charmed the entire world along the way. Their contest will come to a head at Sunday's Oscars. But which one of the actresses has proved to be the more lovable? Read some of their best quotes of the past year or so, and chime in on which actress you think is more charismatic.
Age
Jennifer: 22

Jessica: 35
Awards Won

Jennifer: Golden Globe (Best Actress – Comedy or Musical), Screen Actors Guild Award, Los Angeles Film Critics Association, Satellite Award

Jessica: Golden Globe (Best Actress – Drama) Chicago Film Critics Association, National Board of Review, Online Film Critics Society

Personal drama
Jennifer: Lawrence split up with her boyfriend of three years, actor Nicholas Hoult, one day after being nominated for the Oscar.

Jessica: It was revealed that the man Chastain has been citing as her dad in acceptance speeches is not actually her biological father. She reportedly has not spoken to her actual father in years and refuses to acknowledge him.
On Meryl Streep

Jennifer: Referring to her Golden Globe statuette: “Oh, what does it say? ‘I Beat Meryl!’”

Jessica: “I looked over and said, ‘Is that Meryl Streep?’ … And as I said it, she turned around and started walking toward me, and that’s when everything got kind of foggy. She walked toward me and … grabbed my hand and was saying beautiful things about the play and my performance. And all I did, because I was so shocked, was I held her hands and went, ‘Thank you, thank you. It means so much to me that you came,’ and I walked away.”

On meeting celebrities

Jennifer:“Once I’m obsessed with somebody, I’m terrified of them instantly. I’m not scared of them -- I’m scared of me and how I will react. Like, for instance, one time someone was introducing me to Bill Maher, and I saw Meryl Streep walk into the room, and I literally put my hand right in Bill Maher’s face and said, ‘Not now, Bill!’ and I just stared at Meryl Streep. ... I just creepily stared at her.”

Jessica: “I love being around great actors and filmmakers, and I try to hide the fact that I'm in awe of them. I try to pretend with Al Pacino or Helen Mirren that, you know, we're just part of the same team, we're all in this together -- but really, secretly, the whole time my heart is beating very fast.”

On their characters

Jennifer:"I thought she was just this weird onion. And I loved what she taught not only Bradley [Cooper]'s character, but us, about not always focusing on changing yourself but on liking yourself.”

Jessica: "As an actress, it's very rare that you get to play a woman who isn't defined by the villain or the boyfriend and to play a woman defined by her work. But I see movies all the time with men defined by their work, and to see that and to know that I get to play this, which is unlike anything I’ve ever played? I just had to do it.”

On each other

Jennifer: While hosting “Saturday Night Live”: “In ‘Zero Dark Thirty,’ you caught [Osama] bin Laden. So what? In ‘Winter’s Bone,’ I caught a squirrel and then I ate it.”

Jessica: "I've done two photo shoots with Jennifer Lawrence over the years and have found her to be utterly charming and a great talent. I've told her how beautiful her film work is."
On their looks

Jennifer: “I’m a troll. I hate myself whenever I watch. Don’t go see the movies, I’m a troll. I think ['The Hunger Games'] was great, but their biggest mistake was me.”

Jessica: "I don't look modern. I'm not the girl that would walk into the room and everyone goes, 'Oh!'"

On Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Jennifer: Talking about the Golden Globes: I didn’t see it coming, I didn’t expect it — well, yeah I did — but Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were like 2 feet away from my table, and I was just — it changes you. Like, I have heart palpitations. They should be king and queen of America. I would pay taxes to them and not even think twice about it.”

Jessica: "The first time I met Brad Pitt, he was a normal guy on his motorcycle, but he immediately spotted a man hiding with a camera. I felt this sense of fear. I was so unaware people were watching. … I could be in denial, but I don't think I'll ever have to deal with the media craziness that Brad and Angelina do, because Brad is such a handsome movie star and Angelina Jolie is one of the most beautiful women in the world; it's the perfect storm for attention. I don't see that's where I'm headed."

On their boobs

Jennifer: "I think people are fascinated with breasts that bounce. They are so used to seeing [fake ones]. My breasts have a life of their own. ... People are confused (that mine bounce)."

Jessica: "I had to be soft and curvy, so I ate a lot of soy. Soy helps you become curvy because it has estrogen in it. So what I would do -- and this is really gross -- is buy cartons of soy ice cream, microwave it and drink it. It was disgusting, (but) wait (until) you see my boobs in the movie."

Paris Jackson Shares Her Teenage Angst On Twitter

From complaining about her teachers and quoting the lyrics of angsty songs to sharing her broken hearted woes with her closest 1 million Twitter followers, Paris Jackson is just your average teen!

The 14-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson continued to share her seemingly average high school life with her fans this week, tweeting everything from 1990’s song lyrics to sending out birthday wishes to the late Kurt Cobain and her brother Prince.

“Buckley twitter wars are fun,” Paris tweeted about her private school’s social media antics on Thursday.

“There are three kinds of people…the drama instigators, the anti-dramas, and the people who sit back with popcorn and observe.”

In another status update, she mentions a teacher from the posh academy, who it appears she doesn’t get along with.

“Mr. Eleden – thank you for being the voice of reason, Paris,” she begins.

“Me – you’re welcome Mr. Eleden.

“How many times has that been said? Me – NEVER.”

Paris, who seems to be really into 1990s grunge music as well as 1980s punk rock and even chopped her locks to resemble Lita Ford, quoted the band Matchbox 20 in another update on Wednesday.

“I’m not crazy, I’m just a little unwell…jk I’m freaking insane.”

That same day, she also tweeted the angsty quote: “Here’s to teenage romances and never knowing why they hurt like hell.”

Paris, who along with her siblings Blanket and Prince currently reside with Katherine and TJ Jackson, will celebrate her 15th birthday in April.

Samantha Ronson suffered panic attacks during Lindsay Lohan romance

ronsonlohan

Lindsay Lohan’s ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson suffered “panic attacks” and severe weight loss during her relationship with the actress due to the pressure of dating a celebrity.

The actress hit headlines when she struck up the same-sex romance in 2008 and they quickly became one of the most photographed couples in Hollywood, as the turbulent relationship played out in the gossip columns.

Ronson admits the union, which ended in 2009, was filled with drama and it began to affect her health.

In an interview with actress Joy Bryant as part of her “Across the Board” series, Ronson says, “I had panic attacks all the time and I lost so much weight, had so much anxiety, it just made it whack (bad)…”

She adds of the photographers who followed the couple, “Even the paparazzi guys would laugh. They’d seen me for years going in and out of the same clubs, smoking cigarettes, talking [blep]… and they’re like ‘I’m so sorry’… (but) this is what (the media) wants’… It was crazy… They’d be the same ones outside my house every day and they weren’t there for me…”

Jessica Chastain Makes First Public Appearance with Boyfriend

Having recently told Katie Couric during an interview that she does have a boyfriend, Jessica Chastain made what is apparently her first public appearance with him Friday night, at the Women in Film 6th annual Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party.

Arriving arm and arm together at Fig & Olive in Los Angeles, the Zero Dark Thirty Best Actress nominee and Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo sipped Perrier-Jouët Champagne in the main room before Chastain spotted her costar from last year's The Help, Viola Davis, and Davis's husband.

Chastain, 35, hugged and kissed the 31-year-old Passi, making it clear to all who saw them that the two are, in fact, a couple.

Further into the evening, which was sponsored by MAC Cosmetics and MaxMara, Chastain went over for a long chat with Daniel Radcliffe as her beau affably looked on.

On Katie, Chastain was asked if she had a boyfriend, and her reply was: "I do. But I will say I have a rule I don't date actors, so he's not in the business, at all. … He’s in the fashion industry." Passi reportedly works as a manager for Moncler, which designs outerwear for men and women.

Was at a concert last night so I only just finished watching last night episode (!!!!!!!!!!!!). Hand up if you thought Alex's pep talk to Sean at the end was incredibly unhelpful. He's not like all the other Division recruits - his life was pretty damn good before everyone thought he was a psychotic domestic terrorist and murderer.
Nikita dipped a bit to 1.26 million viewers last night (0.3 rating). Dear, CW, please stop with the weird ass hiatuses between episodes.

Rory McCann at the Glasgow Film Festival

0
0

Rory McCann (Sandor Clegane) appeared at the 2013 Glasgow Film Festival for a screening of 'Blackwater' and did a Q/A after. What follows is a fan's transcript of the highlights and after that YouTube videos of the Q/A.

Clean versions of the scenes.

Firstly I have to tell you that we also had to shoot a clean version of that "resignation scene" for episodes that are shown on flights etc. which included the phrases "Forget the city" and "Eat dirt dwarf".

Talking about the Bronn and Hound Scene.

I'd just come off shooting the riot scene in Dubrovnik straight into filming the Hound and Bronn scene.  I wasn't in a good mood that day.  Robson and I had also built up some friendly rivalry while in Dubrovnik.  We'd have swimming compentitions in the pool in the morning.  Nothing much was said, we'd only eye each other but we'd do as many lengths as we could.  Let me tell you he's a good swimmer!  I also hadn't realised Bronn had a knife behind his back like that.  That's a bit of a Glasgow trick isn't it?

What was it like filming in the rain?  Were rain machines needed?

The rain was pounding.  Rivers of water everywhere.  They had the machines but no need for them.  At one point the set was nearly washed away.  You really bond on a shoot like that.  You gather around the fires for warmth and survival!  The extras were fantastic when ever I asked if they were OK there after laying in the water for hours they were always "Sure no problem!".

The episode, Blackwater.

This is the first time I've seen a whole episode.  I don't have Sky so don't see it on TV.  Whenever I get the DVDs friends steal them off me.

When did you realise that the Hound character is popular and there's a fandom/following?

When I was no longer pointed and whispers of "Porridge oats man" or "yarp!".  I was in the Outer Hebrides recently and I stopped to pick up a couple of hitch hikers.  We were chatting for a while and they asked what I did.  I explained I was an actor.  They then asked I was in.  When I said Game of Thrones they suddenly gasped and said "oh my God you're the Hound!".  It was about then I dropped them off.  When I looked in the mirror they were jumping up and down all excited.

There's a lot of Scottish actors in Game of Thrones.  Do you get to see them and mix with them?

I do get to see them but we're always on a different schedule.  Often Richard or Iain will have just finished shooting and will be kicking back at the pool side and asking me over but I'm trying to stay focused as I'm about to start shooting so unfortunately we don't get to mix that often.

I have to say though that Jimmy Cosmo is an absolute legend and a hero of mine.  I've not had a chance to spend much time with him but getting on the plane together I'm saying to myself "Jimmy Cosmo!"  I was chatting to Daniel Portman who plays Pod in the episode.  He was saying how Jimmy is great and gives great bear hugs.  I've not had one, I'm quite jealous!

How did you get into acting?

My first job was Willow.  I'd been dossing in caves in Wales and running out of money.  One day I came across a film set and asked if there was any work.  They said they were looking for two tall drunks.  I told them I'm 6'6" and from Glasgow.  I got the work.  It was great just to watch those guys working.

Have you read the books?

I hadn't heard of the books before I got the part. I picked up the first one and read it before filming the pilot. I got to meet George at Doune where we filmed some of the Winterfell scenes. I showed him by book and he was stunned at the state of it. He asked what on earth I'd been doing with it. I told him I'd read it the only way it should be, by open camp fires in the wild. It's now twice the thickness it originally was and George signed it "to my Hound" Can't remember the full inscription [At this point Rory takes the book out and shows us (see photo). He then announced he was giving it away! He had a seating plan of the theatre, closed his eyes and with a pen chose a seat. Lucky B7 was the winner!].

Can you tell us anything about Season 3?

All I can say is it's bigger and better. We're the last to get the script and the only time I get to see the whole story is at the read through before filming starts. We usually do a couple of episodes at a time and then stop of a tea break. I'm saying "no no I want to know what happens to the dragons!". He also said he wasn't sure but he thought they had more money for season 3, I can't remember.

Preparation and training.

I'm do a bit of physical preparation before filming because wearing all that armour can be quite exhausting. I also prepare before the scenes. I'll try different ways of delivering the lines. In the case of Neil Marshall because he was brought in late he was very rushed on the set. There were a couple of times he'd give me some direction and suggest I try a line a bit differently. That's when having the producers on set can be useful. They just gave me a small shake of the head and indicated I should just do as I was doing.

Are you aware of SanSan shipping?

It's awkward you know. [Sophie] is a wee girl and I hang out with her parents! In fact they arrived in Dubrovnik the day we were filming the riot scene. They were keeping an eye on me! [laughs].

Do you get to keep any of the costumes? Would you wear them for Halloween?

No I haven't managed to keep the armour. I do have some swords from other films though and I'm getting casts of my hands made which will be mounted on the wall. So eventually I'll have a room full of my hands holding swords. Weird eh?

Which is harder the emotional dialogue scenes or the fights scenes?

Oh the dialogue scenes. They're much harder. The others stuff is hacking and slaying [laughs].

What's the hardest scene you've had to film in the show?

That was this year. I'm afraid can't talk about it. It's gone up a few notches from when I first started filming. I'd turn up and we'd go. Now there's three weeks rehearsal.

Who's your favourite character?

Tyrion. He's so cool!

Was there training for those who hadn't used the weapons before?

Yes of course. You're dancing with the swords.

What's your personal opinion of the Hound. Would you like him?

He's a guard dog with issues. He wasn't cuddled enough as a child, just like me. Oh, don't let my mother hear that she'll kill me! [laughs].

Family in the job.

My sister was working for the show before I got the part. We've worked on a couple of things. She works in the costume department and her husband Brian McGraw works in the props department. He did a lot of the stuff in the episode tonight.

Did you have an idea it would ever get this big when you started filming?

I knew there was a large book fan base.

Who would you play in the Highlander reboot?

Kurgan! "It's better to burn out than to fade away!". [He goes on to explain on the mountain top they used in the film, they used to leave practice swords up there for people to re-enact the scene. ]

Have you sat on the Iron Throne?

Of course I have! I've snapped bits off it and taken them back to the props department [laughs]. If you look at the right hand side you might notice there's a few less points than the right! [laughs].

Who'd win a drinking competition among the cast?

I backed out of a competition with Jason Mamoa. He came into the bar one night pointed at me and started his Haka. I downed my pint and left in fear. [laughs] I regret that now. He's such a dude. He's the man!

-----

[The interview was ended there but from the back of the hall Brian McGraw shouted "are you looking forward to being an uncle this year?" Rory of course answered yes with a big smile. Rory left to much applauding and cheering]

Teen Wolf S3 Countdown: 100 Days

0
0

LA TV Insider Examiner was on-set with Posey (and the rest of the Teen Wolf crew, but we'll get to them closer to premiere) in Los Angeles recently to see what everyone's favorite Beacon Hills High werewolves, hunters, and laymen have been up to.

"Towards the end of the second season, Scott was kind of getting behind in school, and he was putting everything before school and trying to save people, and he has since prioritized his life. He’s doing great in school; he’s reading every day; he’s doing a bunch of pull-ups—one-armed pull-ups, by the way! So Scott is really trying to take care of himself. He wants to feel good about himself, so to do that he really has to be proactive and responsible, and he’s in a great place, even [with] the break-up," Posey said.

Season three of Teen Wolf will take place a few months after season two left off. Since Colton Haynes departed the series, the show will take a moment to explain Jackson's equal departure, which will cause mixed emotions for the group. Obviously someone like Lydia (Holland Roden) will probably be devastated, but Posey previewed a "happier" Scott without Jackson breathing down his neck.

"Jackson was really the only guy in their group that stressed Scott out. There was tension between them, and Scott’s a good guy; he doesn’t want that. I think that’s part of why Scott’s in a good place—because there is no Jackson. And Jackson was going through a lot of crazy stuff!" Posey said.

As Posey mentioned, Scott and Allison (Crystal Reed) are still broken up when season three opens, but being that they go to school together and are both heavily involved in the supernatural side of town, they will be thrust together a lot. While it might be uncomfortable or awkward at times, Posey said he considers there to always be hope that the two might rekindle their romance: "You never lose your feelings for your first love unless they kill you!"

But it may be awhile before either of them can really think that way or focus on normal teenage relationship drama in the first place. There is a new pack of wolves in town, and this time, they're Alphas. That brings along a whole new set of problems and danger as they work to infiltrate Beacon Hills however they can.

"They’ve been lurking but in the shadows. No one knows about them. They’ve been in hiding. The first episode is when you first get a glimpse of how big and how scary they are," Posey said.

"It's a year later since [Scott] was first introduced to an Alpha, so he’s got an understanding of what they are; he knows his own strengths and abilities; and he knows how powerful Alphas are...[but] everyone is just evil!"

Teen Wolf season three will air on Monday nights at 10 p.m. on MTV, starting June 3rd 2013.

Peter Capaldi to play Leonardo Da Vinci for Sky Arts

Thick of It star Peter Capaldi will play Leonardo Da Vinci in a new 3D dramatised documentary based on the Italian's journals.

The show will air on Sky Arts 2 and Sky 3D.

Da Vinci's journals feature over 6,000 pages of notes and drawings and chronicle the life of the world's most renowned inventor, philosopher, painter and genius.

The show will use stunning visual effects and 3D technology to recreate the polymath's mindscape and ideas.

"Leonardo's journals are an extraordinary body of work, highlighting Da Vinci's position at the vanguard of ideas, thought and design. It's wholly fitting therefore, that his works are being brought to life in such a creative way with the use of Sky's cutting edge 3D technology," said James Hunt, channel director of Sky Arts.

"Sky Arts and Sky 3D customers will be captivated by the stunning visualisations of his work and by Peter Capaldi's performance which impassions the eclectic and brilliant mind of this 15th century genius."

Inside the Mind of Leonardo airs on Sunday, March 24 at 9pm on Sky Arts 2 and Sky 3D.
