If you forgot that a Lisa Vanderpump spin off was actually happening, don't worry, you aren't alone. Bravo is releasing a first look at Vanderpump Rules which will be airing in the beginning of January.

The show will focus on Lisa running her trendy restaurant in West Hollywood and will feature six other young stars who are the staff at SUR who also happen to be aspiring actors and actresses and other beautiful semi-well-off young people with an exaggerated sense of entitlement.

This is aiming for the younger spectrum of The Real Housewives audience. But if watching people act drunk and foolish and look better than you while doing it, this might be right up your alley.

Vanderpump Rules premieres Monday, January 7 at 9/8c on Bravo.

Meet The Cast!

LISA VANDERPUMP

Lisa Vanderpump promo photo for Vanderpump Rules on Bravo

Quick Facts:

PROFESSION Housewife, Restaurateur, Lifestyle Aficionado</p>

This charming and witty Brit has only been in the U.S. for seven years but has already made her mark in Beverly Hills. Lisa Vanderpump was born and raised in London but lived in Monte Carlo and the South of France before moving to California. Married to her husband Ken Todd, the couple celebrated their thirty year anniversary this summer. Lisa and Ken have two children Pandora (26) and Max (20), plus their four dogs that they also consider their babies. While in Europe, Lisa designed various homes, yachts and all twenty-six bars and restaurants that the couple owned in London and she hasn’t slowed down now that she is in the states. Lisa currently owns two restaurants, Villa Blanca, a celebrity hangout, and Sur in West Hollywood, which she just recently redesigned. Design is her passion, but she also writes a page each month for Beverly Hills Lifestyle magazine and launched her first book in October 2011 entitled, Simply Divine, about simple but gorgeous entertaining. In addition, she also has her own skin care line, “Epione.” Lisa is candid about the fact that she spends every night in bed with a gigolo, also known as her pint-sized pup Giggy.

As SUR’s co-owner, creator, designer and boss, Lisa has the task of wrangling the restaurant’s staff of dynamic but reckless employees. Although Lisa and Ken have owned 26 restaurants and bars in their native London and Los Angeles, SUR stands out for its sexy atmosphere and backstage fireworks. Lisa constantly tries to instill her values of hard work and professionalism to the SUR staff, who view her as a tough but caring mentor. Still, everyone knows that when a server crosses the line, Lisa’s unafraid to crack the whip. . .or hand out the pink slip.

KATIE MALONEY

Katie Maloney Vanderpump Rules

Quick Facts:

AGE 26

HOMETOWN Park City, UT

PROFESSION Music Supervisor

Katie is best friends with fellow servers, Stassi and Kristen, and began dating Kristen’s friend Tom Schwartz, who is in the same circle as her co-workers. Katie is finding that SUR has become her full-time job and the center of her social life. Often pushed around by her so called “friends,” the nice girl from Utah is learning that she needs to speak up and assert herself.

JAX TAYLOR

Jax Taylor Vanderpump Rules

Quick Facts:

PROFESSION Actor/Model

Jax is a working model who bartends at SUR and enjoys the freedom, easy money and carefree lifestyle he has found in Hollywood. A self-described “Peter Pan,” he and his live-in girlfriend, Stassi, often fight over his immature actions and inability move to the next level in their relationship. But if he wants to be with Stassi forever, he is going to need to make a change, and fast.

KRISTEN DOUTE

Kristen Doute Vanderpump Rules

Quick Facts:

HOMETOWN Dearborn, MI

PROFESSION Actor

Kristen started modeling and acting as a child and has been at SUR for five years, which is longer than almost anyone on staff. Kristen loves working at SUR, side-by-side with her best friends Stassi and Katie, and her boyfriend of four years, Tom Sandoval. But her propensity to insert herself where she doesn’t belong often gets her into trouble with the staff, and her boss, Lisa.

SCHEANA MARIE

Scheana Marie Vanderpump Rules

Quick Facts:

AGE 27

HOMETOWN Azusa, CA

PROFESSION Actress/Singer/Server

Scheana still dreams of making it big in Hollywood, but unfortunately, the only name she has made for herself thus far is in the tabloids as a “home wrecker” after she famously admitted to an affair with the ex-husband of Lisa’s close friend Brandi Glanville. As the new girl at SUR, Scheana is constantly faced with proving that she is not the same naïve girl who fell for a married man and that she has talents far beyond other’s expectations.

STASSI SCHROEDER

Stassi Schroeder Vanderpump Rules

Quick Facts:

HOMETOWN New Orleans, LA

PROFESSION Actress/Model/Fashion Blogger

For the past three years Stassi has been serving at SUR while she works to become the next big thing in fashion. She has a say-anything-to-anyone-at-anytime mentality and her mouth often gets her in trouble at SUR and especially with Lisa. Two years ago Stassi moved in with her boyfriend Jax and the two have been fighting passionately and making up even more passionately ever since. Always protecting her relationship with Jax, Stassi views Scheana as a threat and labels her a “home wrecker’” to the other staff.

TOM SANDOVAL

Tom Sandoval Vanderpump Rules

Quick Facts:

HOMETOWN St. Louis, MO

PROFESSION Actor/Model

Tom bartends at SUR to make ends meet as he chases his dreams working in modeling, acting, and playing guitar in a band. Tom lives with his girlfriend, fellow performer and fellow SUR employee Kristen. As their lives become more entwined, he is beginning to question why their personal and work lives need to be one and the same.

A Sydney musician creates the best PSA ever

A safety campaign for Melbourne Metro trains has gone viral online, gathering more than six million views in the last three days.

The Dumb Ways To Die video and accompanying song, composed by Sydney musician and keyboardist for The Cat Empire Ollie McGill uses mildly sardonic humour to convey the dangers of acting stupidly around trains.

Ollie McGill told Richard Glover that he had no idea that the campaign would become so popular.

“I thought it was just something I’d do and then just never hear of again,” he said.

“I think I first saw it when it had about 7,000 views and I’ve just been monitoring it since then, and suddenly it had 60,000 views, then it had over 100,000,” he said.

At time of publishing the video had 6,025,297 9,000,000+ views.

16 Shoddy Early Demos Of Classic Songs

$

0
South Park started life as a wonky cut-out Christmas cartoon with the mouths flying all over the place. There's no doubt a stick-men sketch of the Last Supper changing hands for billions in the world's most exclusive auction houses as we speak. And the same goes for songs – those musical masterpieces don't just land in a band's lap fully formed and ready to eat the charts. Often they'll start out with a crap chorus, mumbling for lyrics, a solo seemingly played on a cheese-grater and all of it recorded onto tape that sounds like it's made of concrete and nuclear waste. We've found some examples of classic songs before they got good – do you know any more?

Muse – Plug In Baby

Never has a fantastic song hovered so close to a recording desperate to be discovered than on this early 1997 incarnation of 'Plug In Baby' – its ecstatic chorus then just a formless verse and the best solo of the 21st Century yet to spurt into existence like molten material from a dying dwarf star.

Oasis – Live Forever

Come back Owen Morris, all is forgiven! With Liam – clearly in an age before he was struck by the rock god lightning bolt - crooning in a bland and sexless fashion and the band leaving their punch and power at the door, here's Britpop biggest cloud-burster rendered, well, a bit dull really.

Queen – Under Pressure

Originally called 'Feel Like', 'Under Pressure' was a series of driving rock chords in need of a chorus until David Bowie turned up and went '''Ere, you know what this needs… 'Pressure!'"

Michael Jackson – Billie Jean

Taking to the mike before he has any real idea who this 'Billie Jean' woman might be, he fuddles and fudges his way through the tune asking for "more kick in the phones" when what he really needed was a kick in the arse to finish the lyrics. I mean, "I sit in a cup in a ride?"

The Libertines – Music When The Lights Go Out

The Libertines' most moving moment started life as an excuse for Pete Doherty to pretend he's playing the Phantom Of The Opera during a particularly weepy scene. He's aiming for Ziggy Stardust and hitting Tim Curry.

Blur – Beetlebum

Recording a song while you're still in the process of writing it has never made for particularly riveting listening, but Blur's half-formed early take on 'Beetlebum' is a fascinating insight into what distance is still left to run even when you've got the chord structure down. Particular nods to Damon for struggling through with only about four words written and whoever tries to turn it into a doom goth synth song halfway through.

Gorillaz – Dirty Harry

Damon Albarn has history of being open about his writing process, going as far as to release an EP of hotel room noodles called 'Democrazy' in 2003. Included was this basic Bontempi idea for 'Dirty Harry' with only the loosest grasp of the time signature and with its electro-rap brilliance still swirling around Albarn's head.

Kasabian – L.S.F./Where Did All The Love Go

Back when Kasabian were Saracuse, some of their best songs were still lurking in the bellies of lesser numbers, like gestating Aliens. Hence the thoroughly pleasant 'Come Back Down' from 1999 hides within its loose funk basslines and Stones-y whoops the rhythmic roots of 'L.S.F.' and the melody line of 'Where Did All The Love Go'. But again with the doom goth interludes – was someone lacing the kettles of UK demo studios with mogadon in the late 90s?

MGMT – Time To Pretend

Testament to the importance of finding the right synth sound, we can only thank Christ this is only 30 seconds long or we'd never be able to listen to the finished version without imagining the agony of dubstep dentistry ever again.

The Human League – Don't You Want Me

You'd have to have had some supernatural precognitive powers to listen to this bedroom fuck-around of one-finger synths and toneless wailing and think 'Number One hit!', particularly when the keyboardist attempts to make the leap beyond one note at a time and stretch themselves into the realms of actual chords towards the end, with catastrophic results.

The Cure – 10:15 Saturday Night

Ironically, if Toy put this out today it'd be seen as a modern classic, but compared to the febrile, taut energy of the version that opened 'Three Imaginary Boys', this slacker-paced home demo sounds like Robert Smith, very stoned indeed, trying to put off having to replace the washer in that tap.

Manic Street Preachers – Motorcycle Emptiness

Proof that even in the twee-est, fluffiest cod-C86 early tune – in this case a hippy-dippy Beatledelic strumalong called 'Behave Yourself Baby' with sodding TRUMPETS on it - you can find the nugget of your best future song (from 1.15 onwards).

John Lennon – Jealous Guy

With its origins in the 'White Album' sessions, 'Jealous Guy' began life as one of Lennon's cheesiest flower-power tunes, sung in a theatrical warble, about being "one of nature's children" and having the windows of his soul fiddled about with by the beauty of mountain ranges, and such shit.

Guns'N'Roses – November Rain

Drunk, much?

The Strokes – Is This It

A classic case of "hey lads, take this bong, pass me the Casio on the paso doble setting and get recording this, I've got a BRILLIANT idea…"

Elton John - Benny And The Jets

Literally just a plodding drumbeat and Elton wailing randomly over the top, you have to imagine the actual chords to what would eventually become one of Elton's most artful classics. You've got to wonder what the point was, especially double-tracking the vocals…

Christina Aguilera Splits Pants?

Christina Aguilera “exploded in fury when her fat butt suddenly split her pants during a song-and-dance spot on ‘The Voice’ — and she screamed curses at crew members she’d spotted laughing!” declares the National Enquirer.

According to a “show source” for the tabloid, “Christina felt the back of her pants burst open as an assistant costumer rushed onto the set.”

“She was embarrassed, but made light of it — until she spotted crew members laughing on the sidelines,” continues the Enquirer source.”

That did not sit well with Aguilera, claims the magazine, whose insider says the ”enraged” star “shrieked curses at them, snarling that if it wasn’t for her, they wouldn’t have jobs!”

The Enquirer insider goes on to explain that the crew members had actually been laughing about a separate matter — not Aguilera’s alleged pants problem — “but they didn’t dare fight back, knowing she’d have them fired on the spot!”

Regardless, this incident never happened.

“She never split her pants,” a source close to Aguilera tells Gossip Cop, joking, “She doesn’t wear pants.”

Looks like more Enquirer “bullsplit” about “The Voice” star.

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly on the verge of having her probation revoked.

The troubled actress will be charged with the criminal offense of lying to police in connection with last June’s Porsche crash on the Pacific Coast Highway, according to TMZ, after which L.A. County Superior Court judge Jane Godfrey will reportedly revoke her probation.

A hearing will then be opened on the grounds Lohan violated her jewelry theft case probation by breaking the law when she allegedly lied to cops.

At this point, Lohan has not been charged with criminal lying, nor has her probation been revoked, but both developments could be imminent, says the site.

Gossip Cop reached out to the Santa Monica City Attorney’s office for confirmation.

We will have updates.

Patrick Wilson
and Rose Byrne will reprise their roles for Insidious Chapter 2, the sequel to the hit 2010 horror movie made by FilmDistrict, Alliance Films and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions.

James Wan will return as director for the second chapter, which also will bring back actors Lin Shay eand Ty Simpkins as well as original screenwriter Leigh Whannell. Jason Blum is returning as producer.

FilmDistrict will release the film in the U.S. on Aug. 30, while Alliance Films, which is financing, will distribute in Canada, the U.K. (via its Momentum Pictures subsidiary) and Spain (via Aurum). Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions will distribute in all other international territories.

Production is set to begin Jan. 15 in Los Angeles.

Insidious was made for only $1.5 million and grossed $97 million worldwide, proving a boon for FilmDistrict, which had the rights. The film led many producers to see the viability of low-budget, non-found-footage projects.

The movie followed a mother and father who try to save their son from being possessed and trapped in a dark dimension.

David Beckham annoyed by British Airways

DAVID Beckham has threatened to stop flying with British Airways because star struck hostesses won't stop staring at him.

According to The Sun, the final straw for Beckham came when a stewardess woke him up with a torch so she could take a photo of him.

“David will sign autographs and pose for pictures until the cows come home. He is well known for going the extra mile for fans," a source told The Sun.

“Nevertheless it was a bit disconcerting watching young BA crew members queuing down the aisle for autographs during flights.

“His privacy must be respected, and being startled as he rested during a flight was the final straw.”

British Airways has reminded all staff of their policies on privacy following the incident.

A spokeswoman confirmed there was an incident, and the airline had apologised: “We have a very good relationship with David Beckham.”

Ariel Winter staying with sister for now

$

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Ariel Winter, 14, will remain in the care of her adult sister, Shanelle Gray, for now, a judge ruled Tuesday in the family's bitter fight over the Modern Family actress.

A Department of Children and Family Services report to the court found evidence of emotional abuse by Ariel's mother, Chrisoula Workman, but that Ariel's allegations of physical abuse were "unsubstantiated."

The report also recommended that Gray be awarded permanent guardianship. A trial date will be set to settle that question.

Anita Gumm, an attorney for Chrisoula, had argued that Gray, 34, was an unfit guardian because she's "too young" and "has her own family to deal with," and raised speculation that Gray and her husband were only interested in caring for Ariel for their own personal gain.

"We implore the court to send the kid to her dad," Gumm stated. "Being a controlling mother doesn't mean [my client] is unfit."

But Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Levanas stated that Gray had said "eloquent things" at a prior hearing about the family needing to heal. "I don't think she has ulterior motives," he said.

Earlier in the hearing, an attorney for Ariel's father, Glenn Workman, suggested that the father could move into the family home and have Ariel's mother move out.

But the judge ruled against it: "I have questions about the nature and strength of the relationship with her father," Levanas said. (Ariel's parents have been separated for some time, with the father living elsewhere, according to his attorney.)

Asked for comment following the hearing, Chrisoula said, "I love my daughter and I just want our family to be back together."

Keira Knightley Slams Hollywood's 'Disgusting' Body Obsession

$

Keira Knightley has been the subject of many headlines over the years about her petite stature, something that angers and frustrates the 27-year-old."I think the pressure we put on women to either be thinner or fatter or to have longer legs or shorter legs or bigger breasts or smaller breasts is disgusting," Keira told Access Hollywood at the junket for her latest movie, "Anna Karenina," Joe Wright's big screen adaptation of the classic Tolstoy novel.

"It's amazing in 2012 that that level of misogyny over women is still there... Particularly over young women," she continued. "We pull them apart." When asked if she likes to be thought of as a role model for other young people, Keira was quick to squash that notion.

"I'm a person. I'm completely flawed and nobody should look up to me as a role model,"
she explained. "But, hopefully what I can do is make some interesting stories."
Her latest role, where she plays the complicated Anna, who is embroiled in an affair with Count Vronsky, was challenging for the actress. "I loved [Anna] all the time, I don't necessarily know that I liked her some of the time," she told Access. "She's terrifying, because she really makes you go, 'Am I any better than she is? Do I have the right to judge her?' I think, everybody being human, nobody is better... That's why she is so intriguing."

"Anna Karenina," which also stars Jude Law and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, is in theaters now.
