Kim Kardashian shares that she's reading a book about near-death experiences

Kimmy shared on Snapchat a pic of the book she's reading, Embraced by the Light by Betty J. Eadie, a memoir of how the author supposedly died and came back to life.

Official summary:
"On the night of November 19, 1973, following surgery, thirty-one-year-old wife and mother Betty J. Eadie died.... This is her extraordinary story of the events that followed, her astonishing proof of life after physical death. She saw more, perhaps than any other person has seen before and shares her almost photographic recollections of the remarkable details. Compelling, inspiring, and infinitely reassuring, her vivid account gives us a glimpse of the peace and unconditional love that awaits us all. More important, Betty's journey offers a simple message that can transform our lives today, showing us our purpose and guiding us to live the way we were meant to -- joyously, abundantly, and with love."

Chris Brown Responds to Aziz Ansari in a Racist Post

To recap, Aziz Ansari made a an accurate observation joke saying D*nald T*ump was the C*ris B*own of politics on the last SNL episode:
“I’m sure there’s a lot of people [who] voted for T*ump the same way a lot of people listen to the music of C*ris B*own, where it’s like, ‘Hey, man! I’m just here for the tunes. I’m just here for the tunes! I don’t know about that other stuff. I just like the dancing and the music. I don’t condone the extracurriculars’. If you think about it, D*nald T*ump is basically the C*ris B*own of politics. And ‘Make America Great Again’ is his ‘These hoes ain’t loyal’."

C*ris has responded on his IG:

'The Walking Dead' won't be going soft after all

Showrunner Scott Gimple discussed the controversial opening episode this season as well as addressing reports that the show would be toning down its violence in the future as a result of complaints.

"The violence in the premiere was pronounced for a reason. The awfulness of what happened to the characters was very specific to that episode and the beginning of this whole new story. I don’t think like that’s the base level of violence that necessarily should be on the show. It should be specific to a story and a purpose, and there was a purpose of traumatizing these characters to a point where maybe they would have been docile for the rest of their lives, which was Negan’s point. But I will say again, the violence in the premiere was for a specific narrative purpose and I would never say that that’s the baseline amount of violence that we would show on the show. If we’re ever going to see something that pronounced, there needs to be a specific narrative purpose for it.

As brutal as that episode 1 was, it’s still part of our storytelling bible, which is what the world is about. I don’t think we would ever edit ourselves, and I think — even after looking at that episode 1 again — as tough as it was for people to watch, I don’t think we would have done it any differently. I don’t think we’ll ever pull ourselves back. There is definitely a difference between violence against walkers and human on human violence, but truthfully, we’re serving our story."

Blind Item: Which Celeb's Plastic Surgery Was So Bad He Had to Reverse It?

New blind item:

"There’s all kinds of work to be done before starting on a movie. In addition to preparing for the role, many roles require the actor to get into shape physically. Your first assumption here is to think that means working out. Most of the time. Some of the time it’s about your face. And this is not just the women.

Before starting on his upcoming blockbuster, producers were concerned after test shots that he looked too unnatural and puffy. They asked him, rather directly, to have his fillers dissolved. It’s an action movie after all, he can’t be looking dewy and plump like he’s at the spa while he’s doing all those action sequences. In order to speed up the process he first switched over to a detox diet to lean out and then he went back to the doctor to deflate his face. In my opinion he’s really better off for it. So, just in case you didn’t already know, in Hollywood, the actors are doing it and OVER doing it just as much as the actresses."

Supreme Court Tosses 'Sister Wives' Lawsuit Challenging Polygamy Ban

0
0

The Supreme Court has thrown out a challenge by Sister Wives' Kody Brown and his four wives to a Utah law that bans polygamy. SCOTUS ruled that the Browns have no right to challenge the law because they were not charged with a crime under it.

A federal judge sided with the Browns and overturned key parts of the state’s bigamy law in 2013, but an appeals court overturned that decision last year. Utah law forbids married persons from living with a second purported spouse, but authorities maintain a practice of only prosecuting bigamy if another crime such as child abuse or fraud has been committed.

Utah police investigated the Browns after their show premiered in 2010 but closed the case without filing charges. The Browns had argued that Utah authorities should not be allowed to deliberately thwart a constitutional challenge to the law by shutting down their case.

Carly Rae Jepsen, Nick Jonas, and what Fifth Harmony to perform at NHL All-Star Game on Sunday

0

Carly Rae Jepsen will sing the Canadian anthem and what remains of Fifth Harmony will sing the US anthem, in a blatant display of Canadian favoritism. Nick Jonas will perform during the 2nd intermission at Sunday's All-Star Game in LA, even though Carly Rae Jepsen should really be doing that, too. Get it together, NHL.

Jon Hamm will also host the NHL100 on Friday, a presentation of the greatest 100 hockey players, with a tribute to Alan Thicke by Robin Thicke, and performances by John Legend and John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting, that other 2000 band with a number in their name and Superman-related song.

I found out about her performance because some fans are apparently mad about it because they have no taste, and a few hockey writers came to her defense:

Shia LaBeouf screams in a Nazi's face and it's amazing

By now you've probably seen or at the very least heard of Shia LaBeouf's anti-Trump interactive art piece. Basically there's a camera mounted outside of the Museum of the Moving Image streaming 24/7 and people are encouraged to go up and say "He will not divide us" for however long they see fit. The project launched Friday and has been had pretty much continuous traffic since with even Jaden Smith leading some chanting.

Yesterday some Nazi piece of shit decided to go right up to the camera and say "Fourteen eighty-eight" which is basically not so super secret Nazi code for a white supremacist phrase with some "Heil Hitler" thrown on the end. Shia responded by getting all up in the guys face and screaming"He will not divide us" repeatedly in the hate monger's ear. Sadly no one was punched but he probably went home to his mother's basement and cried.
