Britney Spears doesn't have cold feet over wedding

Britney Spears and Jason Trawick are still planning to say, "I do".

Contrary to reports that Spears, 30 – who accepted Trawick's proposal in December – is getting cold feet, the two are as happy as ever.

"There's no truth to any second thoughts about their wedding," says the source. "They're fine and both look forward to working again when The X Factor gets started. They've had a great summer."

Speculation about trouble between Spears and Trawick bubbled up recently when she was photographed outside court without her engagement ring. But, according to the source, "she was not wearing her ring last week at court because she took it off during an Elizabeth Arden [photo] shoot and Jason was holding it for her. He simply forgot to give it back until later."

As for walking down the aisle, the insider says, a wedding is still on, but won't happen until after Spears finishes her busy commitments for The X Factor.

Even though Britney has been married before, she looks at her wedding to Jason as her real wedding.

Madonna "Forgives" Elton John

$

Madonna is calling for an end to her feud with Elton John -- dedicating one of her songs to Sir Elton during a recent concert in France ... and saying she forgives him for calling her a "fairground stripper."

It all went down Tuesday night in Nice -- Madonna dedicated her song "Masterpiece" to Elton, saying, "I know he's a big fan of it. And I know he's a big fan of mine. And you know? I forgive him. Gotta start somewhere."

In case you didn't know, Elton said Madonna "looks like a f***ing fairground stripper" earlier this month in an interview -- adding, "She's such a nightmare ... Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn't have happened to a bigger c***."

But Madonna's dedication might have been backhanded -- because "Masterpiece" is the song that beat out Elton John's "Hello Hello" for Best Original Song at the Golden Globes in January.

Elton was pissed -- and his husband David Furnish famously blasted Madonna after the GG win, calling her "desperate" and saying her acceptance speech "was embarrassing in its narcissism."

But now, Madonna wants to let bygones be bygones ... or does she?

Is she being genuine or sarcastic ONTD? I'm going to go with sarcastic & I'm sure Elton will agree.

Britney Spears 'Medical Issue' Is Behind Conservatorship

$

There's a reason Britney Spears' conservatorship has lasted 4 1/2 years with no end in sight -- it's because she has a serious medical issue that prevents her from making consistently sound decisions ... TMZ has learned.

Documents were filed Tuesday in the conservatorship case, urgently asking the judge to seal certain records. In the papers, lawyers for the conservators called the records "highly sensitive," adding "irreparable harm and immediate danger" would befall Britney if the documents weren't sealed.

Multiple sources with firsthand knowledge tell TMZ ... the records are medical documents outlining Britney's condition and treatment.

We're told the singer has a disorder affecting her personality that can affect her state of mind. We're told she is doing "extremely well" but needs the safety net of a conservatorship.

Sources tell us there is no plan to end the conservatorship, and the judge is completely down with it.

FYI ... there are 2 components of the conservatorship -- the personal and the business. The personal conservatorship allows Jamie Spears and Jason Trawick to make life decisions for her. The business conservatorship involves managing Britney's career and fortune. As for the business side, we're told it will probably go on indefinitely because it has been incredibly successful.

Sofia Vergara is known for always looking her very best and she always stuns in person and in photographs.

But in a hilarious picture paying homage to the late great Lucille Ball which she uploaded to her WhoSay account, the 40-year-old is unrecognisable.

In the shot Sofia holds her mouth open as she takes on one of the comedian's signature poses.

Although it's not clear what exactly the Colombian beauty is set to do with her Lucille get up, it wouldn't be surprising if it for the ABC show she stars in Modern Family.
The caption on the image which she uploaded last Sunday read: 'Lucyyyyy Im hooome'.

Malin Akerman Lands A Role On "Suburgatory"

Malin Akerman has scored a key role on the second season of Suburgatory.

EW has learned that after an “extensive” search, the show has cast the Children’s Hospital actress to play Tessa’s free-spirited singer/songwrier mom, Alex, in the upcoming season. She will appear in the Thanksgiving and Christmas episodes.

As fans will recall, Tessa’s mom has been out of her life since shortly after Tessa’s birth and in the new season, mum finally works up the courage to reach out to her daughter, hoping to put the past behind them.

Creator Emily Kapnek weighs in, saying: “I’m so pleased that Malin Akerman has signed on for an arc on Suburgatory. I’m a huge, nerdy fan and this was an extensive search for the right actress to play such a pivotal role in our show. It turned out to be well worth the wait. She’s funny, gorgeous, and incredibly charismatic and I know her chemistry with Jeremy Sisto and Jane Levy is going to be off the charts. Malin is a comedy writer’s dream, both beautiful and comedically fearless. I’m over the moon about her agreeing to play Alex.”

Suburgatory returns to ABC Oct. 17 in a new timeslot following Modern Family, 9:30 ET.

Kim Kardashian is clearly feeling flush – as she is reported to have splashed out £63,000 ($100K) on a self-flushing toilet.

The 31-year-old reality TV star is said to be hugely worried that guests to her home will not flush after they use her toilet.

A source told a US magazine: “Kim is terrified of people using her potty and forgetting to flush and loves that she’ll be the first girl on the block  with a  toilet pricier than most houses!”

The  famous beauty has recently been enjoying a beach break with  rapper boyfriend  Kanye West and various family members, including stepdad Bruce  Jenner.

But  despite her hectic schedule of swimming and tanning, Kim  still found the  time to launch a clothing range with her sisters Khloe and  Kourtney.

The Kardashian Kollection of clothes, lingerie and handbags is hitting  Britain’s Dorothy Perkins stores, as well as some BHS outlets.

Kim said: “My sisters and I are so thrilled that we are launching at Dorothy Perkins.”

Willam gets interviewed in Atlanta, remains flawless

$

Actor, scandal monger, “Drag Race” alum and drop-dead beauty Willam Belli checks in on her past, present, future, Chick-fil-A and Swinging Richards as she gets ready to hit Jungle Atlanta on Wednesday.

In the revealing interview below, Willam makes clear that this queen knows how to market a public image. But her gay Atlanta fans already knew that, didn’t we? After all, Willam’s music video send-up of Wilson Philips and takedown of Chick-fil-A went viral on the same day that the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” episode aired on which she got disqualified for leaking “Drag Race” secrets and having conjugal visits with her boyfriend while the show was still taping.

So before Willam becomes Phoenix and Nicole Paige Brooks’ latest Fantasy Girls guest, following in the footsteps of Sharon Needles, Latrice Royale and other “Drag Race” alums, we get the skinny from the horse’s mouth on all the burning questions we could think to ask.

In typical fashion we’ve grown used to, Willam doesn’t hold back:

As an established actor, why did you decide to do RPDR in the first place?
Basically, they had a check, so I had a talent.

You’ve done TV, movies, stage, music and drag. Which is your favorite and why?
Once you pay the whore, you can make her do whatever you want. I don’t care. As long as the money’s on the dresser – or the dressing room, guitar amp, or honeywagon. Seriously. I can’t choose. I love everything about performing for anyone, cameras or not. Drag is fun.

Who are your biggest influences, both in drag and in your career as a whole?
Careers I like are Charles Nelson Reilly, Charles Busch, RuPaul, Missi Pyle, Jack Plotnick. For drag, I have to say Leigh Bowery and RuPaul, and of course the LA surge queens Detox and Vicki [Willam’s costars in the ‘Chow Down’ Chick-fil-A takedown].

You’re so versatile in your talents. What else about you haven’t we seen that might surprise people?
That I was on a dodgeball team. I was horrible and stoned at every game, but it was the only way I wasn’t afraid of the balls. I know. Shut up.

What motivates you to keep going and going?
A rolling stone gathers no moss. I don’t wanna get dusty. I like creating.

What can Atlanta expect when you hit town for the Fantasy Girls show on Wednesday?
Well I dunno. Depends what pair of panties is clean. I’ll probably sing and wear something whorey and then drink all the alcohol in the bar.

Has interest in the “Chow Down” video resurged with the latest hubbub, and what’s your take on the whole Chick-fil-A mess anyway?
I think Detox, Vicky Vox and myself are kind of accidental activists. We saw it coming, we just didn’t know it would hit like this. I love that it’s had a resurgence and now people are seeing it who genuinely care about the issue and not just because I had the good sense to release it during my disqualification.

Now that the world finally knows “What did Willam do?” to get the boot, and the show has embraced you as an alumnus, how did you feel about it at the time, and what’s your take now on how it all came out?
Is that really what I did? Hmmmm… being under contract, one tends to play by the rules … But wait: Was I supposed to inform someone my boyfriend was there? I don’t see how I broke the rules now that you mention it. Either way, my idol told me she was proud of me and at Drag U orientation day told the other girls there that I “got a gold star” and that the other girls should take a note from me on to further the brand. That was like surreal for me to have Ru pay me such a compliment in front of stellar sisters like Raven and Jujubee.

What have you been working on lately?
I’m on the second episode of “CSI” this upcoming season playing a showgirl named Dahlia, and my album comes out at the end of September. Also, I interned at Logo for a week but mostly just stole office supplies.

What else do you want to let the Atlanta queens know before meeting you on Wednesday?
The best queen ever came out of Atlanta [RuPaul], and I’m looking forward to stomping ‘round on her turf. That. And I hope Swinging Richards got that leak in the ceiling fixed. I wanna get wet from a lap dance not cause the roof is fucked, y’hear?!

Katy Perry and John Mayer split, no one is surprised

Talk about hot and cold.

After a couple months of casual dating, John Mayer and Katy Perry have split, multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly.

"She's really upset about it," one insider tells Us.

Echoes another insider: "She is making it seem like it wasn't serious with John, but she is hurt."

Us Weekly first reported the budding romance, with Perry, 27, and Mayer, 34, making an "affectionate" appearance together at Soho House in West Hollywood June 19.

At a Beverly Hills pool party Aug. 4, recently divorced Perry and notorious Lothario Mayer "were all over each other, making out," one observer said.

A pal said earlier this month that the "Teenage Dream" singer was ready to get serious with Mayer. "She doesn't want to get her heart broken again, but she feels a real connection and wants to see where things go" with Mayer, whose exes include Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston.

Perry divorced Russell Brand earlier this year, and briefly dated Florence + the Machine rocker Robert Ackroyd in the spring.

Kris Jenner's next Pimp Plot: Getting Kanye on American Idol

$

Kris Jenner is apparently so thrilled with daughter Kim Kardashian’s relationship that she’s willing to extend her special momager influence in order to snag Kanye West a new gig.

According to Hollywood Life, the mom of seven is working hard to make sure Yeezy lands a spot at the judge’s table on American Idol.  Sources say that Kris, along with Idol host Ryan Seacrest, have both been pulling strings to ensure that Kanye gets the judging job, which would be huge if Kim and Kanye were to have their own show in the future.

“Kris knows this would do wonders for Kim and Kanye’s new reality show and bring in the biggest ratings ever,” said an insider.

So maybe the Kardashian matriarch isn’t trying to help Kanye’s career out of the kindness of her heart after all.

Kris has been working with Ryan Seacrest behind the scenes to make this happen,” the source adds. “It was actually Ryan’s idea in the first place and he produces all the Kardashian shows for E! So if [Kanye] became a judge on American Idol, it would be a win-win for everyone!

Emma Watson records music? + new "Perks" stills

$
0
0

While Emma Watson spent some time in Bjork's homeland this summer to shoot Darren Aronofsky's upcoming "Noah," she used her time off to scratch a musical itch we didn't really know she had.

Iceland Review reports that Watson spent a day recording with Icelandic musician and composer Ólafur Arnalds, and they were joined by Watson's pal Ben Hammersley. There's no word on if it was just some fun time hanging out around the studio or if these are songs Watson will drop, or what it all may be. Whether or not she joins the ranks of actor/musicians like Ryan Gosling, Russell Crowe, Juliette Lewis or Kevin Bacon is up in the air, but it seems the 22-year-old actress is at least curious about dabbling, and why not? Better now than never. As for Arnalds, he's best known in indie circles, but you may have heard his work on the score to last year's "Another Happy Day" starring Ellen Barkin. So there you go.

Meanwhile, Watson is staying busy as ever, and next month she'll be chatting up press for "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower." The upcoming film, based on the popular book by Stephen Chbosky, follows the titular wallflower Charlie (Logan Lerman), who forms a deep friendship with Sam (Watson) and Patrick (“We Need To Talk About Kevin” star Ezra Miller) who help him break out of his shell and experience the high school life he thought was beyond his reach. Yep, it's one of those films, but with a soundtrack boasting Sonic Youth, David Bowie, Galaxie 500, The Smiths, The Innocence Mission and more, we hope it's a sign that this one has some steel to it.

"The Perks Of Being A Wallflower" premieres at TIFF and opens on September 21st. And help you get in the spirit, here's a batch of new images from the film.

Tyra Banks on 'America's Next Top Model' Overhaul: 'I Was Panicking'

America's Next Top Model got a makeover for its 19th cycle.

The CW's reality competition, which returns at 8 p.m. Friday with its first "College Edition," has a new judge, a new photo shoot creative consultant and a new viewer-voting component, among other additions.

For the first time, viewers had a say in which contestant stayed and went home, voting online over the course of production to choose their favorite contestants based on photo shoots. And, in another new twist, the competitors who already had been eliminated were given the opportunity to return to the competition.

It's a major overhaul for the show, which debuted on UPN in 2003 and formally launched at The CW in 2006. Ahead of the premiere, Banks spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about what sparked all the changes, her thoughts on the show's move to Friday nights, how long she thinks the franchise might last and which challenge could generate hate mail.

The Hollywood Reporter: What was the impetus for all the changes this cycle?

Tyra Banks: I got a call from my boss ... who said we needed to make some serious changes. It was a phone call that left me nervous and shaking. I hung up the phone -- I got pulled out of a class at Harvard [where she recently graduated from the university's executive education program] to take the call -- and went back into the class, but I couldn't focus on the professor. I was panicking. [But] yesterday we had a debut party and did a screening of the first episode, and every single reporter in New York City was there ... and they were super excited, wanting to talk about all the changes. Even though I went to business school, it was my boss that gave me a big lesson about rejuvenation and making something that's been around a long time fresh and exciting again.

THR: What did you do after you got the call?

Banks: I took a break. I had to check out a little bit and realized I needed to go away. I went to Bali and took the entire first season with me on discs and studied it while I was there to understand why we are successful and what got us there in the first place and what we did in terms of being creative and what we left on the table that we shouldn't have. [I realized] it was the story of our girls. We got too much into teaching and challenges and photo shoots and eliminations. So you'll see in cycle 19 so much of the story will be getting to know the girls, whether emotional or comedic. There's a cycle one rawness to it.

THR: How does the viewer vote work?

Banks: The fans account for 25 percent of the vote. Now each judge votes from 1 to 10 and shows their score. ... In the end, the girls get called up based on their combined score, including social media, so sometimes girls end up going home that I don't want to go home, based on social media.

THR: Why was it important to make viewers a part of the show this time around?

Banks: First, I'll tell you why it was important not to in the beginning. I created Top Model because I wanted to expand the definition of beauty and wanted a platform to do it. People think I just wanted to discover models, but that was secondary. I wanted to highlight atypical beauty, unique beauty, so the ugly-duckling girls at home who were not feeling beautiful could see other girls with a gap in their teeth or super pale or with big frizzy red hair being called beautiful and could feel better about themselves. We'd get [viewer] mail asking: "Why is that girl on? She needs to go home." Then two weeks later, the same restaurant waitress would get a makeover, and people would say, "I had no idea she could look like that." Over the course of the years, the audience is now not just choosing the cheerleader or the pretty girl in the mall. They realize that beauty comes in different shapes and sizes with freckles and frizz. I felt comfortable enough that the audience wouldn't just go for the cheerleader now.

THR: Which stars will be making appearances this season?

Banks: Tyler Perry will teach the girls how to act as characters, because modeling is about embodying a character. ... The winner gets a part in a Tyler Perry movie. Alicia Keys also comes on, and the girls put on a fashion show to her new album, Girl on Fire. And Shenae Grimes from 90210 is the photographer for the photo shoot in week two, [a taxidermy-themed shoot]. I still don't know how to feel about that shoot because I don't wear fur. I don't know if we'll get hate mail about it. I'm not sure where I stand.

THR: Not all of the winners have had successful careers after their season ends. Do you work with any of them afterward as they embark on their modeling careers?

Banks: I don't double dip, for ethical reasons. At one point, I was thinking about managing one of the girls, but I think that's unethical. Do you choose the one you think you will make the most money off of or the girl who you feel like deserves it the most? When a girl wins, it's up to her to work with the modeling agency she's partnering with. A lot of girls, some of them just want the crown. It's disheartening, like, "I just won and I'm about to go back to my hometown and get a boyfriend and get me a baby." But this is not a pageant. Others are hungry to work and do get jobs, mostly internationally. This is a global business. On American Idol, the guy or girl wins and their song is played on the radio around the world, whereas on Top Model, the girl may win and then book Spanish Elle or Japanese Vogue or South African Harper's Bazaar. These are huge magazines, but they are regional, so it's difficult to feel her success.

THR: How much life is left in the Top Model franchise?

Banks: I've been answering that question since cycle five, and I'm always wrong. I said maybe until eight. On the set of cycle eight, I was with [executive producer] Ken Mok, who asked me, "How much longer do you think?" and I said until 10. I don't know. I don't like to keep being wrong.

Square Enix accidently revealed the news behind the countdown site. Yes, it is for The World Ends With You – an iOS version of the 2007 hit Nintendo DS game.

The World Ends With You – Crossover – arrange album mentions the iOS version will have arranged tracks from Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance].

Square Enix deleted the details from the CD’s product page, but not fast enough since Japanese blogs screencapped the leak.

Look for The World Ends With You on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch near you in 2012.

  ~~~
Over on his Twitter feed, Brian Gray, the lead translator on The World Ends With You for the Nintendo DS, hints that there may be more to Square Enix’s recent teases than an iOS port of the game and a new soundtrack release.
Last night, Gray tweeted: “Before everyone decides the #twewy countdown is over, they might want to wait for the countdown to be over. #moredripthanleak”
Square’s The World Ends With You teaser website is counting down to an announcement that will happen this weekend. Hopefully, by then, we’ll find out whether they have anything more up their sleeves or not.
Rob Liefeld quits DC, goes on a Twitter rant
$
0
0
Rob Liefeld is probably one of the most divisive names in comics for fans both in Eastern Iowa and abroad. Cedar Rapids fans either love his crazy line work or hate his lack of anatomy with little inbetween. It caused much controversy at DC Comics when he took over the production of three New 52 titles with issue nine: “Deathstroke”, “Grifter” and “Savage Hawkman”.
Liefeld announced via Twitter on August 22 that the September 2012 zero issues will be his last on all three titles, ending his run after only five issues.
DC indicated when Liefeld first came on the books would be canceled without Liefeld on board, but it seems they will continue at least through their solicited issues without Liefeld’s hand. Scott Clark takes over art on “Deathstroke” from Liefeld, while long time Liefeld collaborator Marat Mychaels takes over for Clark on “Grifter”. No word yet on the “Savage Hawkman” team, but the team of Mark Poulton and Joe Bennett will most likely continue without plotter Liefeld at least for the solicited issues.
Industry critics already conjecture this may put all three titles on the chopping block for DC’s third wave of cancellations.
Liefeld made his reasons for leaving very clear in his statement online: “Reasons are the same as everyone’s that you hear. I lasted a few months longer than I thought possible… Massive indecision, last minute and I mean LAST minute changes that alter everything. Editor pissing contests… No thxnjs [sic]”
Despite Liefeld’s public statements, DC still has yet to acknowledge his departure from the company.
