Seinabo Sey: "It's about human rights"
Screenshot: SVT Play
130 black women joined Seinabo Sey on stage during her performance yesterday at the Swedish Grammy award. The women stood next to Seinabo while she sang "Pretend" and "Hard time"
From an interview with SVT News:
When asked about what her thoughts were behind the number Seinabo Sey says it is open to interpretation.
- I do not want to comment on the final number. I want people to think for themselves. It's art - it's sound and vision - and I believe that people do more when they think for themselves rather than being told what to think.
(On being compared with Beyoncés performance)
- Beyoncé is my biggest idol. But I thought of this before she did her appearance. This is about human rights, it's not about pop culture, it's not about Beyoncé. It's about all of them at the same time, says Seinabo Sey.
Your inspiration was not Beyoncé's appearance?
- No, I thought of this before. And I was black before. Beyonce was black before.

Lianne La Havas Isn't Here for #BritsSoWhite
Half-Greek goddess Lianne La Havas was apparently included last night in a now-deleted tweet with the hashtag #BritsSoWhite. She wasn't happy about it and responded with a now-deleted tweet saying that she didn't want to be included in the hashtag because it's racist. She got pulled into a twitter row where she revealed her NuBlack self.
@Ruariam you're really missing my point.
— Lianne La Havas (@liannelahavas) February 25, 2016
@Ruariam it's not BECAUSE they're brown. Think about it longer
— Lianne La Havas (@liannelahavas) February 25, 2016
@StreetFaerie@Ruariam there are many MANY reasons BUT They certainly dont select or not select people because of their race.
— Lianne La Havas (@liannelahavas) February 25, 2016
@autofilusername there were lots of non black people doing great in music that also did not get a nod. So?
— Lianne La Havas (@liannelahavas) February 25, 2016
@Txno__ i think equality should be the goal. Not anything else

I couldn't include the original tweet that started all of this because it was deleted and I can't find the screencap. I only saw what was left of the conversation because Jackée Harry responded to one of her tweets.

Johnny Depp goes to Washington for atheist gathering
Johnny Depp will be on stage at the Lincoln Memorial on June 4.
He will join the likes of Margaret Cho, Bill Nye, Richard Dawkins, and Killah Priest in Washington, D.C. this summer.
The rally is part of a four-day event meant to bring together those who identify with secular, atheist, agnostic, humanist, freethinking, and nonreligious identities—and amplify their voices in the normally faith-heavy world of politics.
“No longer hiding their lack of religion, ‘nones,’ atheists, and secular voters are demanding that their voices be heard and their votes sought,” says Lyz Liddell, executive director of Reason Rally 2016. “And those votes will go to candidates who base their policies on science and facts.”
About 20 percent of Americans have no formal religious identification according to 2015 Gallup poll, up five percentage points from 2008.

Uncle Joe to Introduce Gaga's Oscars Performance
Joe Biden to introduce @LadaGaga’s #Oscars performance: https://t.co/KrHk8ZWE6wpic.twitter.com/c2pwy8y8nH
— Vulture (@vulture) February 25, 2016
Veep Joe Biden is set to appear at the Oscars to introduce Gaga's performance of "Til It Happens to You" in order to promote President Obama's "It's On Us" campaign to prevent campus sexual assault. Biden has campaigned to end sexual violence for decades now, having sponsored the Violence Against Women Act in 1994.
The other day Kesha was spotted with Gaga during her rehearsal, so there's been some speculation that she may duet with Gaga.

Trailer for Tom Hardy's New Show "Taboo"
Set in 1814, Taboo follows James Keziah Delaney. Believed to be long dead, he returns home to London from Africa (sigh) to inherit his dad's shipping empire and rebuild a life for himself. But his father's legacy sucks, and with enemies everywhere, James has to be careful lest he bring down a death sentence. Encircled by conspiracy, murder, and betrayal, a dark family mystery (probably incest) unfolds in a crazy tale of love and treachery.
Also stars Oona Chaplin, Jonathan Pryce and Michael Kelly. Produced by Ridley Scott

Rebel Wilson doxes the wrong woman on Twitter
- Rebel posted a tweet condemning a female tabloid journalist (no relation to Rebel) who had allegedly harassed her grandmother
- She followed up that tweet by revealing the name of the woman and posting a picture of her face
- Her Twitter army went in on the woman, who contacted an Aus media site and explained that she had no idea what Rebel was talking about, wasn't even a tabloid journalist, was obviously the wrong woman
- Aus media site tweeted her this info, got blocked
- People tweeted at Rebel to take the tweets down, she was (unsurprisingly) shitty and refused to do so until the last minute
- TLDR: the last name Wilson is so common that everyone in Australia has it, drama ensues

Rebel is a obv a mess but I especially can't at stans who actually play into this shit and come for dox victims at the drop of a hat. Celebs have too much damn power.
