In the first installment of this (maybe continuous) series, we chronicled
Tom Cruise's often stormy love life, and the request was made for Brad Pitt's past, and I aim to please, so here we are!
Brad Pitt has been around the block with his love life over his course of his career, although not much interest was given to his choice of partners until after the success of
Se7en in the 90s. However, Mr. Pitt has had an interesting- and sometimes skeevy- mix of women in his life. So let's all jump on the train, go down this journey together to the widely known conclusion.

Shalane McCall(42)Period: 1987
Backstory: Sooooo, depending on who you believe, twenty-four year old Brad allegedly dated fifteen year old Shalane, a star on tv's
Dallas (although her mother denies this). At the time, the press, including People mag, reported him as twenty-one year old Pitt. Cough. Here's
a clip of Shalane and Pitt on Dallas. She was his first on-screen kiss, and there's not much available about them, probably due to the fact she was fifteen and Brad was twenty-four. But that's none of my business.

Sinitta Renet Malone(52)Period: 1987-88
Backstory: She was British '80s pop singer who dated Pitt after he got his agent to call hers after seeing her on television. She would dump Pitt, only to regret it after seeing
Thelma and Louise, the role which would make him a star.
Quote:"He was beautiful with the most amazing body. I saw him for two years.He was fun, he was young and very sweet."
Trivia: Sinitta claimed she was slapped by a fan over her relationship with Pitt.

Christina Applegate(43)Period: circa 1989
Backstory: Another teenager. Applegate was seventeen, he was twenty-five. The short-lived fling ended on the date #1 when Applegate ditched Pitt at the MTV Movie Awards for another guy. She has repeatedly declined to say why exactly she ditched Pitt and for whom.

Trivia: She's pals with future Pitt exes Gwyneth and Jen.

Jill Schoelen(52)Period: March 1989-June 1989
Backstory: Pitt met actress Jill Schoelen on the set of
Cutting Class, in which they played high school sweethearts being pursued by a killer and they fell into a quick romance. He was apparently madly, deeply, embarrassingly in love with her. Their brief courtship led to a 3-month engagement, which ended when Schoelen dumped Pitt while filming
The Phantom of the Opera, for the director of the film. Ouch. Sorry, Brad.
Quote:"I got there, went straight to the set where she was filming and that night we went out to dinner. She told me that she had fallen in love with the director of the film. I was so shocked I said, 'I'm outta here.' It was one of my worst moments. Robin Givens(50)Period: 1989
Backstory: During actress Givens' divorce from Mike Tyson, she began seeing a young Pitt, who at that point was best known for his guest spots on
Dallas. That time was interesting, to say the least (see trivia).
Quote:"I don't know if I find him to be so fascinating, to be perfectly honest... Whenever I see him in the magazines with Angelina Jolie I just crack up."
Trivia: A stoned Pitt once dropped by Givens' home to pick her up for a date, where he found Tyson waiting for him. Nothing happened, he pleaded "dude, don't strike me" and Tyson left him alone.

Juliette Lewis(42)Period: 1989-93
Backstory: What a surprise, another teenager. Pitt and Lewis began hooking up while playing killers in the film "
Too Young to Die?" At the time, Lewis was a sixteen year old emancipated minor and Pitt was twenty-six. They took their relationship public when she turned eighteen, which makes it all okay. Lewis called Pitt a "dignified rebel," and both enjoyed their anomity while dating. The duo also starred in crime thriller
Kalifornia in 1993 before finally calling it quits.
Quote:"It amazes me that people are still fascinated that we went out for four years. I was a teenager at the time. It's a lifetime away. I was in my high-school years and it was a wonderful, loving relationship with a fun, smart guy."
Trivia: Pitt helped sculpt Lewis' musical tastes, introducing her to the Pixies, John Lee Hooker and Nina Simone.

Thandie Newton(42)Period: 1994-95
Backstory: Pitt and totally wonderfully legal twenty-two year old Newton, who was
one of Nicole Kidman's pals, met while both were filming
Interview with the Vampire with Kidman's then-husband Tom Cruise. After roughly a year, the two separated but remained friends.

Trivia: There wasn't much to it, Thandie remains friends with all three aforementioned individuals to this day.

Gwyneth Paltrow(42)Period: 1994-97
Backstory: Pitt began dating Paltrow during filming of the
Se7en. He proposed in 1996, calling Paltrow "[his] angel, the love of [his] life" during his Golden Globe speech. They dated for three years, only to call off their engagement after seven months. Paltrow claimed her father was devastated by the breakup.
Quote:"You can't make that decision [getting married] when you're 22 years old... I wasn't ready, and he was too good for me. I didn't know what I was doing."
Trivia: In April 1995, paparazzi snapped Pitt and Paltrow sunbathing nude. I'm not linking you, google it if you want it, ya pervs.

Jennifer Aniston(46)Period: 1998-2005
Backstory: Pitt and the
Friends star met in 1998 after their agents set them up on a blind date, or as blind as you can get in Hollywood. They dated for two years before getting engaged and married in 2000 in Malibu. This wedding was ridiculous- 50,000 flowers, a gospel choir, 4 bands, fireworks and only 200 guests. Anyway. They remained totally cute for a couple of years, smoking pot, walking around in GAP outfits and generally being under the radar.
In 2004, Pitt began shooting the film
Mr and Mrs Smith with Angelina Jolie, after Nicole Kidman pulled out of the role. At the time, there were rumors swirling Aniston was balking at having children, which Pitt desperately wanted, and problems allegedly began to arise between the two. After four and a half years, Aniston filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Pitt would later claim he fell in love with Jolie during filming of
Mr and Mrs Smith, which was surely awkward for all of us, and probably Aniston. Aniston said she trusted Pitt when he said nothing happened between him and Jolie while they were married. In 2015, Aniston married actor Justin Theroux, ending the tabloids' ten year reign of terror over Aniston's love live and uterus for at least a month.

Friends in an iconic Thanksgiving episode, where he played a former classmate of Aniston's character who had a grudge against her.

Angelina Jolie(40, six children, Maddox, 14, Zahara, 10, Pax, 11 Shiloh, 9 Knox & Vivienne, 7)Period: 2005-present
Backstory: Well, she's pretty much the love of Pitt's life, huh? Pitt and Jolie met on the set of
Mr and Mrs Smith and began dating under shady circumstances (see above), although all parties involved claim the relationship didn't begin until Pitt was separated from Aniston. Believe what you will. By 2006, Jolie had adopted a second child, changing her two children's last names to Jolie-Pitt after Pitt legally adopted Maddox and Zahara. She later announced she was pregnant and gave birth to daughter Shiloh in Namibia.
They would adopt another son, Pax, in 2007, and in 2008, they would have twins, Knox and Vivienne. The pair got engaged in 2012, and Jolie announced in 2013 she had a preventive double mastectomy. Pitt called her "absolutely heroic." In 2014, Pitt and Jolie married and they remain together to this day. Pitt and Jolie remain one of Hollywood's power couples and, as the kids on tumblr say, "relationship goals."
