They were previously called “The Divergent Series: Allegiant — Part 1,” and “The Divergent Series: Allegiant — Part 2,” but now the final two movies in the series will have brand new names once they hit theaters.

Both movies will be based on Veronica Roth’s best-selling novel “Allegiant,” but will also expand on the story in ways we can only guess.

HIGH-RISE: I can't think of a film this elaborate, w/a cast this impressive, that is so deeply weird, alienating, and anarchic. #TIFF15

The one simple thing I can say about HIGH-RISE: Tom Hiddleston is totally naked within the first 10 minutes. #TIFF15

ROOM is a solid, well-acted adaptation of a book that's hard to adapt. The film is missing some layers, but Brie Larson is in the hunt

Cassadee Pope Stars in CMT-Only Toyota Commercial + Single "I Am Invincible" Gets Reviewed

Cassadee Pope, pictured above doing some grassroots promotion for her new single, has shown off her amazing promotional range in a new CMT-specific video for Toyota as part of their Next Women in Country promotion. The writer/producer of the commercial said that "CMT’s Next Women of Country partners with Toyota to show how NWOC alum (and NBC’s The Voice Season 3 winner) Cassadee Pope inspired offstage by getting outside, going places and dreaming big. Utilizing the versatile Toyota RAV4 – we shot in several locations around Nashville (Frothy Monkey Coffee Shop, Percy Warner Park and Montgomery Bell State Park) to give viewers a sense of how Cassadee gets inspiration from her adopted hometown, but also the tools she uses to get there." A disclaimer in the video notes that the Toyota was lent to Cassadee, who won a Kia as part of her triumph on the 2012 season of The Voice, for filming so take all the magical chemistry between her and this RAV4 with a grain of salt.

To celebrate the release of her single "I Am Invincible" to country radio, where it was the most added country song for this week, a radio DJ named Scott Ward did a review of the song, shared gleefully by Cassadee herself, pointing out how its inspirational power does not need to be restrained to only women, despite the song literally beginning with the phrase "For my girls, the fighters, the warriors." All the men of the world can rest easy knowing that this anthem can apply to them too (especially since the song was written by two white men).

It would be too easy and a little bit lazy to label Cassadee Pope’s new single a Girl Power Anthem. “I Am Invincible” is more than that: It’s a People Power Anthem. The 2012 winner of The Voice has already cultivated a reputation as a determined, hard worker. The new single certainly backs up that label. The lyrics are all about showing strength in the face of hardship… or any time for that matter.

“I Am Invincible” is really about showing that strength all the time and believing in oneself. There will no doubt be a lot of talk about how important it is for young women and girls to listen to this song, so that they might feel empowered and encouraged to chase their dreams. Don’t forget: Boys and young men can benefit from that kind of inspiration, too. This song is for everyone, whether they are at the top of their game or recovering from a setback.

Saoirse Ronan on ‘Brooklyn,’ Feminism, and Her Brush With New York’s Escaped Convicts

$
0
0

On her character in Brooklyn and feminism:
"To see a character like her, set in that time and not have it be solely about the men that are in her life, that’s quite feminist in itself. Actually, all the women in this film are very independent and strong. I think feminism couldn’t flourish then as much as it does now. In a way, it’s become sort of unpopular now for us to be treated as equal citizens. Some people treat feminism as taboo--and if they shave their arm pits then they’re not feminist. To me, feminism is just that we’re equal to men."

"Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the African author who wrote “We Should All Be Feminists”--and Beyoncé quoted her TedTalk in “Flawless”--this is the thing that I hope will change--and certainly in our industry it is a bit already--that the competition between women isn’t becoming so much about men anymore. That we are trying to support each other more, that we’re trying to stick by each other instead of being against each other. It’s about thinking in a different way."

On her upcoming productions Anton Chekov’s The Seagull, adapted for the screen, and a film about Vincent Van Gogh:
"The Van Gogh story is more experimental. They’re getting painters in to hand-paint every frame in the film. I was based on a portrait of a woman he painted at a piano. They suspect she had a relationship with Van Gogh before he was killed, or killed himself, who knows. Visually, it’s going to look so different. And Chekov, we only finished a month-and-a-half ago. We shot in Monroe [New York]. It’s really pretty, but you know those two convicts that went missing? They were found in Monroe. An Amber Alert went off on my phone the first night I was there on my own. It was very exciting, thought I was going to get murdered every day."

Her favorite movies this year:
"I loved Inside Out so much. It was so beautiful, really was so amazing. Trainwreck was great, and Spy was great too."

Tommen 2 686x1024

Huge spoilers for this King's Landing that will take place in Season 6 episode 6.

"It begins with the High Sparrow going down the Sept’s stairs while the people applaud him. He explains that Queen Margaery has joined them in accepting the power of the Faith. Just then, Jaime Lannister bursts into the scene, on horseback and leading an army of a hundred and forty Tyrell soldiers, and demands that the High Sparrow free Queen Margaery.

Suddenly, the gates of the Great Sept open —it is Tommen Baratheon, followed by Queen Margaery and the Kingsguards, who are bearing the Faith Militant’s sigil instead of the Royal sigil. The king and queen have accepted the High Sparrow’s reformed faith, and they are acclaimed by the people.

It is emphasized that this is only the first part of the scene and it is expected to be a trascendental scene in which the two factions come to blows."

Confirming 4 things:

1) The High Sparrow is a genius, solidifying the hold of the Faith on the Crown. In practice, he is a Pope-King now.

2) The King basically answers to the High Sparrow from now on.

3) The Tyrells are back as major players, although they respond to the Faith as well.

4) Cersei is cornered by everything and everyone in King's Landing.

I think we all know how Cersei is going to react to this🔥🔥🔥🔥
