♥nicki♥:
two months after the release of nicki's debut tswift was doing press and said that the song she was obssessed with at the moment was nicki's SUPERBASSSSS then proceeded to try to rap as evident in this video:
Minaj later said, "Taylor Swift did her little interview about 'Super Bass' and [it] took off in the States with the people sort of knowing it...It’s just really uncanny how all that stuff happens...We didn’t plan it like that"
later that year this happened and was probably awesome live altho we'll never know cause this video is tarsh quality
nicki later named taytay one of the four people responsible for the success of superbass in her ama acceptance speech
to what taytay said in some interview after that "I love her so much. She is one of the most authentic people I have ever known and that comes across in her music. I was so happy when I opened the envelope and it was her name."
basically they're cute and should duet anaconda this tour for my sake and also for the internet's sake
~sam smith~
in february of 2014 i made this obscure post and like 5 people knew who sam smith was. article implies that ~she took him under her wing and recognised his talent before everyone else did. whatever
she said this in some interview back then: "I learned that he was a brand-new artist who hadn't even been launched in the U.S. yet, but I felt this strange inclination to introduce my fans to him out at the O2 [Arena]. When I love something immediately, they usually react the same way."
everyone was happy with themselves
~vance joy~ she did a cover of riptide last october which quickly racked up several millions of hits on youtube and he's gonna be opening up for her entire (at least american? idk) tour. if he follows ed sheeran's steps in like 1,5 years this guy will be inescapable.
through a newcomer the guy seems chill: "It's the best gig because you don't really have any of the pressure, you play a shorter set, and you get to enjoy the show."
