Katy Perry has fired back at the NFL over its “pay to play” request for potential Super Bowl Halftime performers.

“We had some conversations and i would be honored of course but... i have let them know that I'm not the type of girl that would pay to play the Super Bowl so... the ball is in their field” Perry said during an appearance Saturday morning on ESPN's “College Game Day.”

A report in The Wall Street Journal this past August said the NFL had asked Perry as well as Coldplay and Rihanna if they'd be willing to offer a percentage of their future tour earnings or “some other type of financial contribution” to perform at the big game in February.

The theory is that the exposure is so great, that artists should pay for some of it.

At the time, the league would neither confirm nor deny the allegations. ”Our only goal with the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show is to put on the best show for the millions of fans who watch,” Joanna Hunter, the NFL's director of corporate communications, told TheWrap. “Our contract arrangements with artists are confidential.”

You better protect the tour money that those greedy bastards want, let's see if Rihanna and Coldplay are willing to pay

When we met Rose Leslie at her beauty shoot for our November issue, we’d just watched THAT episode of Game of Thrones where Ygritte dies in John Snow’s arms. Sob! We asked her what five things she missed the most now she’s left the hit HBO show.

    1. My bow and arrow. I now LOVE archery, I find it a very therapeutic sport. I would be taken away for a couple of hours before we started filming to get back into the rhythm so that it was a fluid movement of picking up the bow and then the arrows and just being able to make it look as authentic as possible.

    2. The crew. For three years in a row you’re working for six months of the year with the same cast and crew and producers. We flew into Rekjavic and we travelled for about 8 hours in a car down the southern coast of the island, so we were very much in a remote place. You do get incredibly tight.

    3. Iceland. You’re shooting on this beautiful landscape but there is no-one else to be seen. It was wonderful and sensational in that way because there weren’t huge cranes and equipment. I now have a deep love for Iceland because it is associated with such wonderful memories.

    4. The writing, that’s definitely up there. I read all the books before I started. And the people at HBO are fantastic.

    5. My friends: the actors. Working with my friends day in day out for five months has been a lovely thing. For me though, it’s never really a goodbye, it’s onto the next thing where you’ll meet new people. It’s so interesting to be able to have a job that has that. You never know for how long!

In the sales tracking week that ends Sunday night, Adele's 21 will top the 11 million mark in U.S. sales. That news is at once not really surprising (the album has been a blockbuster since it was released in 2011) and utterly astounding (in an era when albums are hard-pressed to sell 2 or 3 million copies, how on earth has an album gotten to 11 million?)

There was little reason to think that 21 would become a blockbuster when it was released in February 2011. Adele’s previous album, 19, had been a solid hit, but it hadn’t even sold 1 million copies. (Its sales on the eve of the release of 21: 930K.) Only one of the songs from 19 made Billboard's Hot 100: “Chasing Pavements,” which peaked at #21 (there's that number again!). 19 had, however, brought Adele two Grammys: Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. (In addition, “Chasing Pavements” was nominated for Grammys for Record and Song of the Year.)

21 logged 24 weeks at #1 on The Billboard 200 and spawned three #1 singles: “Rolling In The Deep,” “Someone Like You” and “Set Fire To The Rain.” 21 was the best-selling album of both 2011 and 2012. This marked the first time in Nielsen SoundScan history (which dates to 1991) that an album was the top-seller two years running.

The album’s biggest sales week came in February 2012, when it sold 730K copies in the first full week following the 54th Grammy Awards. Adele won six Grammys that night, including Album, Record and Song of the Year. (The tune-in was greater than usual due in large part to Whitney Houston's shocking death the day before the show.)

Here are the numbers, for you data freaks: 21 topped 1M in U.S. sales in April 2011, 2M that June, 3M that August, 4M that October and 5M that December.

It topped 6M in January 2012, 7M that February, 8M that March, 9M that May and 10M that November.

How can I be so certain that the album will top the 11 million mark this week? The album’s sales stood at 10,999,000 last week, and it is selling about 3K copies a week.

The "Wiggle" singer called into "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" on Monday, where he "cleared the air" about his split from the "American Idol" alum.

With tons of rumors floating around the web since news broke of the breakup, the R&B singer wanted to set the record straight about his fallout with Sparks.

"I’m not one to throw my business out on the street, but I thought it was important because things are getting a little out of hand," he told Ryan.

"I’m seeing all kind of stories about somebody getting pregnant, infidelity, things like me calling it off because of me being too busy and because of my newfound success," he continued.

"What happened … in a nutshell, there was a lot of tension in the relationship for a lot of different reasons. Every relationship has ups and downs. There was a lot of pressures of marriage. There was a lot of arguing and stuff like that that just weighed on our relationship over time. When you stop having more good times than bad bad times, it’s time to call it quits. It becomes something that is unhealthy," he explained.

The 25-year-old-- who's dated Jordin for the last three years and even wrote a song for Sparks titled "Marry Me" -- told us earlier this year that the the ballad was supposed to signify his devotion to the "Battlefield" singer, but ended up generating way too much media speculation about their relationship.

It's official, Steve Martin is being acknowledged for having enriched American culture.
Next year, actor, comedian and musician Steve Martin will receive the American Film Institute Life Achievement Award.

According to the AFI website, the award's criteria are difficult to meet. "The recipient should be one whose talent has in a fundamental way advanced the film art, whose accomplishment has been acknowledged by scholars, critics, professional peers, and the general public and whose work has stood the test of time."

Martin, 69, joins former recipients including Jane Fonda, Mel Brooks, Morgan Freeman, Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro, Barbara Streisand, Harrison Ford, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.

Sir Howard Stringer, Chair of the American Film Institute's Board of Trustees, explained why Martin is receiving the honor in a statement.

"Steve Martin is an American original," said Stringer. "From a wild and crazy stand-up comic to one who stands tall among the great figures in this American art form, he is a multi-layered creative force bound by neither convention nor caution. His work is defined by him alone, for he is the author – and a national treasure whose work has stuck with us like an arrow in the head."

Martin will be honored with the 43rd Life Achievement Award on June 4, 2015 at a gala tribute in Los Angeles, and the tribute special will air on TNT and TCM in June 2015.

Teresa Giudice is continuing business as usual. The 42-year-old reality star and her husband are continuing to live their lives in front of the cameras.

Just one day after the star and husband Joe were sentenced to prison for fraud, the couple sat down to tape an interview with Bravo's Andy Cohen.

The host shared a photo on Instagram Friday of Teresa, who received 15 months in jail and Joe, 41 months on set. "Just spent a few hours interviewing Teresa & Joe Giudice. See it Monday night on Bravo," Cohen captioned the pic of the trio for the special episode airing on Oct. 6.

Teresa held a stern look in the snap while holding on tight to Joe's hand, who cracked a small smile.

In wake of her legal woes, the brunette mother-of-four will also apparently film the Season 6 The Real Housewives reunion show Sunday.

Teresa will report to jail after Christmas to serve her 15 month sentence, while husband Joe takes care of their four children. Once Teresa is out, Joe will serve his 41 month sentence.

RHOBH Meets The Cast Of B&B!

The cast of B&B ran into the cast of THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS in Amsterdam, as both shows are taping episodes in the Netherlands.

Of course, new HOUSEWIVES cast member Eileen Davidson (Kristen, DAYS; Ashley, Y&R, second from r.) has both shows in common, as she took Y&R's Ashley over to B&B in 2007.

Vicki Devastated By Brooks Cancer Diagnosis!

Ayers was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system, in the fall of 2013, and it has since spread very rapidly. Brooks' said his cancer is "fast moving," so the prognosis at this point appears pretty grim.

"I am very sad about the recent diagnosis of Brooks' cancer recurrence," Gunvalson told People Oct. 2. "It really puts life in perspective and makes you realize how important health, family and friends are during this time. Thank you for respecting his privacy and for all your thoughts and prayers for Brooks during this time."

Ayers, who has dated Vicki on and off for the past three years, has admitted cheating on her, but the two still remain friends. Their rocky relationship was chronicled on the Real Housewives of Orange County. "I am determined to fight this horrible disease and am surrounded by love and support from people who truly care about me," said Ayers.

    Phaedra Denies Cheating on Apollo!

If you checked out the new trailer, you noticed that a big part of the drama this time around will be Phaedra Parks relationship with her now-incarcerated husband, Apollo Nida.

The drama began when Cynthia Bailey made the shocking claim in a preview of the upcoming season of RHOA, saying “Phaedra is having an affair with some African man named Chocolate.”

Later on in the clip, Apollo confides in Peter Thomas, saying, “She’s having an affair with some guy.”

However, Parks is denying all claims of infidelity. Her rep, Steve Honig, told Radar exclusively, “Phaedra has been a completely faithful wife. She doesn’t know any men named Chocolate.”

He joked, “I did hear she had her eyes on a guy named Pistachio but it didn’t work out because he was nuts.”

Sunny Tripathy recently signed a deal with 20th Century Fox to possibly create a television series based on his Indian-American family, the Tripathys.

“It will not be a show about curry, turbans, 7-Elevens -- whatever stereotypes that are out there. It will be far from that. But you will learn and see things you might be familiar with that are reflective of South Asian identity and culture,” said Tripathy, creator of the viral comedy YouTube series, “Keeping Up With the Guptas.”

When Tripathy landed a general meeting earlier this year with 20th Century Fox comedy executives and producers, Tripathy, who initially thought he had a shot at an entry-level writing position, was surprised when Fox took an interest in Tripathy's stories about his family.

In 2010, the comedian, model, and screenwriter launched “Keeping Up With the Guptas,” a web series that accidentally became an overnight sensation despite its poor production value and basic budget. The web series' cast consists of his own parents and his friends and focuses on stories revolving around arranged marriages, parental expectations, and generational differences.

“I think racial tolerance and cultural acceptance is something that is extremely important," said Tripathy. "The best way to help understand other people's cultures is by learning to love characters that are within that culture.”

Tripathy, who has met actress-comedian Mindy Kaling multiple times, says she’s a great example of someone who is proud of her culture, but is not solely defined by it.

“She is someone who is proud to be Indian American, but isn’t limited to just that. Similarly with my web series, the problems, conflicts and stories we told were about basic things," he said. "We had stories about relationships, Christmas, arguments with parents, grades, marriage, and general cultural and generation gaps that exist in our lives.”

I think especially in Indian culture, we are no longer just the random doctors and engineers. You have amazing people like Indra Nooyi, the CEO of Pepsi, who are Indian. You have Indians in politics. You have Indians running companies, writing books and making films that win Academy Awards. Finally we have been appreciated and understood beyond just the stereotypes-- so I think it’s important diversity in television reflects that."

Badass Digest has a new report stating that some key original Avengers could be missing from Avengers 3, as contracts are set to expire. The site indicates that while Marvel's deal with Robert Downey Jr. seems to indicate he will appear in Avengers 3, the same may not be true for Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Scarlett Johansson. BD's Devin Faraci noted that while looking into a recent rumor that the third Avengers film would be split in two, he reports that he instead found that Marvel intends to use Avengers 3 as a springboard for a subsequent bigger film, for which Marvel plans to save its bigger characters.

Therefore, the third Avengers film could highlight some of the MCU's secondary characters, and even potentially set up some spin-offs for those characters. The site suggests RDJ's Iron Man would still be involved in A3, which would help serve as a launching pad for this new team. Faraci speculates that the follow-up movie Marvel may be saving the big guns for could be a crossover movie, such as Infinity Gauntlet or Secret Wars.
