David Cronenberg's drama, which next plays the Toronto Film Festival, may sit out the 2014-15 awards season.

After winning the best actress award in Cannes for “Maps to the Stars,” Julianne Moore was considered a strong bet in this year’s Oscar race for her turn as a washed-up star in the David Cronenberg drama. But the overdue actress, who has been nominated for four Academy Awards without winning, could be sitting out of this year’s awards season.

In a deal that closed last week, Focus World picked up U.S. distribution rights to the Cronenberg drama from Canadian outfit eOne, sources tell Variety exclusively. “Maps to the Star’s” won’t premiere stateside until early 2015.

Focus World is the alternative distribution division of Focus Features, and it hasn’t been decided if the drama will be released on VOD or if it will play in theaters domestically or some combination thereof. “Maps” could get an Oscar qualifying theatrical release at the end of 2014, so that it would at least be eligible for Academy Awards nominations, according to one individual with knowledge, but a movie with that kind of strategy can sometimes get lost amidst the slew of December contenders.

“Maps to the Stars” will screen this month at the Toronto International and New York Film Festivals, which are traditionally launching pads for Oscar contenders. On September 9, Moore is scheduled to appear at a cocktail event following a screening of the film at Toronto.

Britney Spears took a rare moment out of her Las Vegas Piece Of Me show Sunday night to address her recent split from boyfriend David Lucado.

Thousands of lusty boos (the encouraging kind, if that’s possible) rained down from the 5,000 attendees at Planet Hollywood’s Axis Theater. Britney’s fans were eager to show her they had her back over Lucado’s alleged infidelity.

“But the best part of breaking up,” the singer continued as she leaped forward toward the front of the stage, “is going on first dates. OMG, OMG, I need a hot guy. Where are the hot guys here tonight?”

The lusty boos rapidly turned to outright lust as the crowd rapidly sensed an unusual opportunity for participation in the tightly choreographed, highly produced show.

The pop princess stuck out her hand and singled out a lone individual in the crowd, whom her backup dancers rapidly scooped up and pulled onstage.

The onstage moment, however brief and amusing, was the first time Spears has directly acknowledged rumors that former boyfriend Lucado was unfaithful to her. Although she’s made oblique references on social media to “the single life” and “having a sh–tty day,” hearing her say the words so plainly in front of thousands of fans was both unexpected and heartwarming. Not surprisingly, Britney’s fans are firmly on her side.

Sunday night’s show was otherwise uneventful. She made no other off-the-cuff or personal remarks from the stage. Her family, or any other celebrities who may have been in the house, were not verbally acknowledged. She simply hopped, skipped and jumped her way through more than 20 fan-favorite songs spanning her entire career, all the way from “Baby” to “Alien” amid the cheers of the assembled as she does every night she performs.

Oh, those housewives never disappoint at reunion shows.

Vicki Gunvalson managed to have a fairly drama-free season this year on Real Housewives of Orange County (thanks to Tamra, Heather and Shannon causing more drama than Bravo new what to do with).

A viewer asked Vicki to elaborate as to what gay "looks like" in and around Orange County. "Usually, they're very, very, very fit. They're usually very GQ looking," she explained to Andy Cohen. "They're very poised. Not to generalize, but that was my viewpoint."

Gunvalson has been on the Bravo series for nine seasons. Despite the drama and craziness that surrounds the show, the self-proclaimed "OG of the OC" has no intention of leaving the series.

"Another great season has come to an end and I am excitedly looking forward to the next season—with more drama and more love coming your way," she wrote on Facebook after the season finale. "I absolutely love the show and all of you."

Vicki Enjoys Flirting With Shannon's Man!

That was the most shocking moment during Monday night’s reunion show – and Gunvalson dished on another disturbing detail, saying David, who has had marital problems with Shannon, asked her a provocative question about her bra.

It spilled out after David and Heather Dubrow’s husband Terry joined their wives and the other OC housewives on the couch with host Andy Cohen.

Plastic surgeon Terry told David he had “lost two months of sleep” because Terry made sexually inappropriate comments to Heather at their hoedown party. Terry said that Gunvalson had also riled him up by saying David “loves to flirt with me and touch my underwear.”

Gunvalson then claimed David “never touched it”— but they had definitely flirted at the Dubrows’ hoedown viewers saw earlier in the season.

But Heather reminded Gunvalson, “You told us … David was asking the color of your underwear and your bra.”

Monday night marks the end of “Mistresses” season 2, but could it also mean the end of the ABC series altogether? That is something that we are here right now to try and figure out a little bit better.

Let’s start with the good news: In the 18-49 demographic that matters the most, the show has typically posted somewhere between a 0.9 and a 1.1 rating. This is not that much of a drop at all from the first season, even if that go-around did have some higher highs, including one episode that delivered a stunning 1.4. This past episode drew just a 0.9, but you could blame competition from the Emmys justifiably for that. For the finale, we do feel like it needs to rise, but even a 1.0 would be fairly nice here.

One other thing the show has going for it? ABC has had a pretty terrible summer. “Mistresses” had fared better than some of their Canadian imports, but it better since they are fronting more cost here. It has also done better than the flop known as “Rising Star” and the creative hit but commercial disappointment “The Quest.” There may not be many better options than renewing it, just because it keeps the devoted following pretty happy.

Do we feel the show will probably max out at three or four seasons if the numbers don’t improve? Probably, but that’s the bad news for now. The numbers are not good enough to combat inevitable rising costs that come every season. However, if things stay at this level for the finale, you may get to see Alyssa Milano and company at least one more time next summer.

There are not many times when we have sympathy for George R.R. Martin, and nor would he want us to. The A Song of Ice and Fire author thrives on working hard, and takes all of the negatives of his job and his notoriety in stride, including those angry fans demanding he spends almost all of his time working on books rather than doing anything else.

We do feel a little bad for the guy, though, when it comes to do lazy book and “Game of Thrones” press from journalists who don’t bother to read up on any other interviews prior to speaking with him. The question that he is the most tired of is a simple one: Which one of his characters is his favorite? In his new blog entry, Martin expressed his frustration, and came up with a funny way he will answer the question in the future:

“Tyrion is my favorite character. Okay? OKAY? Can we PLEASE put that one to rest?? I love all my viewpoint characters, Arya and Sansa and Bran, Jon Snow and Brienne, Arianne and Cersei and Jaime, Theon, even Victarion and the Damphair, ALL of them, but I love Tyrion the bestest. Tyrion son of Tywin, the Imp, second son of Casterly Rock. How many bloody times do I need to say it?? I swear, from now on, whenever anybody asks me, ‘who is you favorite character,’ I am going to start naming characters from other people’s books. Cugel the Clever. Flashman. Gatsby. Hotspur. Solomon Kane. A different one each time…”

Just to put some other questions to rest, The Winds of Winter will be finished as soon as it is actually done, Martin is not writing a “Game of Thrones” episode this coming season, and nor is he planning to spend a whole lot of time on the set. Knowing that the show is almost caught up to the books, he is back to focusing on writing.

Nicki Minaj, clad in a green sequined two-piece, gyrated her hips and thrust her backside in the air onstage at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards as she belted out the lyrics to her song “Anaconda.”

“Oh, my gosh, look at her butt/Look at her butt/Look at her butt,” she sang.

Minutes later, pop singer Jessie J (who opened the show alongside Minaj and Ariana Grande) took the stage to perform her hit “Bang Bang.”

The opening lines of the song? “She got a body like an hourglass/But I can give it to you all the time/She got a booty like a Cadillac/But I can send you into overdrive.” Later that night, during her introduction for Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora’s “Black Widow” performance, Jennifer Lopez teased her new “Booty” remix with Azalea, which dropped yesterday. (The original version of the track was released on Lopez’s A.K.A. album, featuring Mr. Worldwide.)

The original chorus (“Big, big booty/What you got a big booty”) remains unchanged. But in the remix, Azalea raps, “The last time the world seen a booty this good it was on Jenny from the block.”

It was, after all, Lopez who originally kicked off the butt fad back in 2000 with her plunging, derriere-hugging Versace ensemble. “It started when J.Lo showed up in that green see-through dress at the Grammys,” says Dr. Constantino G. Mendieta, a Miami-based plastic surgeon who is the author of The Art of Gluteal Sculpting and a globally recognized expert on the subject of butt augmentation. “After they saw her, people started asking us, ‘Hey, how can I get a backside like that?’”

Ten years ago, women were enhancing their backside shape through silicone implants. Today, however, a quickly growing percentage of women (and even men) are increasing the size and changing the shape of their butts through fat injections, a process better known as the Brazilian Butt Lift. The cost of such a procedure, which can increase your butt size roughly one to two full sizes, can be upwards of a cool $10,000.

“It’s revolutionary what is happening to the backside,” Mendieta tells us. “If you look at the statistics, the number of people getting this procedure went up 53 percent from last year. Nothing else increased in our statistics like butt injections did in the past year, so you are certainly on to something.”

No doubt, butts have never been bigger, both in physical size and as a cultural phenomenon (umm…#belfies, translation: butt selfies). Sunday night’s VMA show only further cemented it. Not only were the performers riffing on booties, they were flaunting their own hourglass shapes, too. Minaj’s and Azalea’s rear ends received more attention—and resulting social media commentary—than most of the show. (There’s now even an app called Tap That, where you can digitally enhance the size of some of the most famous butts out there, including Minaj’s, Azalea’s, Beyoncé’s, and, of course, Kim Kardashian West’s. )

It’s the shapely derrieres of celebs like Beyoncé and Kardashian West (who was fittingly sitting front-row at Sunday night’s show) that’s inspiring women and men to go under the needle. And for those going after something slightly more conservative in scale, the Pippa Middleton treatment is being heavily requested these days.

“Many patients will refer to celebrities when trying to convey the look they desire,” says Dr. Adam Schaffner, a New York-based, board-certified plastic surgeon. “Celebrities with buttocks which are admired by many patients include Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, and Kim Kardashian,” he confirms.

Officially, the jury is still out as to whether or not those bold-face names woke up like that, or if they got a little help from their white-coated friends. Nicole Winhoffer, trainer to Madonna, helps ladies get kick-ass booties the old-fashioned way: a hard-core sweat. Adapted from the play of the Swedish August Strindberg 's Miss Julie is the new film by Liv Ullmann, the interpreter of the most remarkable works of Ingmar Bergman as Persona , a passion or Saraband, also director. Oscillating between class struggle and gender, the film takes the initial closed-door of the room and gives us a harrowing confrontation held by three excellent players.

The plot takes place in 1890 in Ireland. The night lights of Saint-Jean, Baron leaves the field, leaving only his daughter Julie (Jessica Chastain) and his servant John (Colin Farrell) and the cook and fiancé John, Kathleen (Samantha Morton). As night falls slowly, Julie Kathleen away from the kitchen to seduce John, already coveted the young woman, seeing it as a way to climb the social ladder. Between passion and quarrel, John and Julie will turn to love and destroy, struggling against their condition without ever exceeding it. These two characters, and never excluding Kathleen, take the film on their shoulders. Even better, they wear it.

Cradled by the illusions of his romance novels but denied the right to love by his late mother, Julie will eventually find escape in death. Gradually, Jessica Chastain delivers a performance as an actress again striking. First seductive and authoritative, dark Julie slowly into madness losing the few marks she had. The scene of the canary is by far the more surprising as the actress wins from a state of stupor in a sudden and destructive hatred. Over the course of the day we have been seeing a lot of hacked pictures of naked celebrities being leaked online and, while there are a lot of people who cannot get enough of looking at these personal, private and intimate pictures, spare a thought for those who have had their privacy outrageously violated by this hacker, this is their private life after all.

There are certain things that come hand in hand with becoming a global superstar but one of them is not having your phone hacked and your intimate pictures leaked online. There are a whole host of stars who have had naked pictures leaked online, as well at there apparently being some Jennifer Lawrence sex tapes supposedly on the way, as well as Kate Upton sex tapes.

Now, Hollywood actor Seth Rogen has urged people who have seen the picture and videos not to post them online. Rogen took to his official Twitter account to tell his fans and followers, "Posting pics hacked from someone's cell phone is really no different than selling stolen merchandise. I obviously am not comparing women to merchandise. Just legally speaking, it shouldn't be tolerated to repost stolen pics."

Since these nude celebrity pictures leaked online, some of the victims have come out to insist that they are not them or that they are fake, while others have confirmed that their phone was hacked on the stolen pictures are genuine. The authorities have been informed by a number of these stars, who are looking to get anybody who has used these pictures online to be seriously punished.

It's still many months away, but the 2015 Texas Frightmare Weekend is already heating up with an impressive guest list. Next year marks TFW's 10th anniversary, and they're pulling all the stops. This latest announcement is the biggest yet!

Neve Campbell, famous for her role as Sidney Prescott in the Scream films, will be making her first appearance ever at a convention at next year's Texas Frightmare Weekend. As is the TFW tradition, she'll be available all weekend long for autographs, photos, and panels.

The actress, known also for The Craft, has never done a convention before so this will be the first time fans will be able to meet her in person whilst in the world of Horror.

After Drew Barrymore turned down the role as Sidney Prescott for the smaller role of Casey, Neve became the lead in 1996's Scream. In many interviews since her debut as Sidney, she had reservations about being known as a Scream Queen, but in recent years she seems to have finally embraced the title.

Neve joins the already announced list that includes Tara Reid, Josh (The Collection) Stewart, C. Thomas Howell, Malcolm McDowell, Joseph ("Game of Thrones") Gatt, and a first-time pairing of I Spit on Your Grave lead Camille Keaton and director Meir Zarchi with MANY more to come.

The 10th anniversary Texas Frightmare Weekend will be at the DFW Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas, running May 1-3, 2015.

FBI Now Getting Involved In Mass Celeb Nude Leak

The celebrity nude photo leak scandal has reached a boiling point ... and now the FBI is getting involved.

In a statement released Monday afternoon, a spokesperson for the FBI said, "The FBI is aware of the allegations concerning computer intrusions and the unlawful release of material involving high profile individuals, and is addressing the matter. Any further comment would be inappropriate at this time."

Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton -- the two most prominent names in the leak -- have both expressed interest in pursuing legal action in the matter.

An Apple spokesperson told Recode.net they are "active investigating" whether or not their iCloud system was hacked as part of this leak.

Kirsten Dunst became the latest celeb featured in the leak to comment via Twitter, placing the blame squarely on Apple's shoulders (while also acknowledging the photos are real). She simply wrote, "Thank you iCloud."

After CeeLo Green pleaded no contest Friday to one felony count of furnishing ecstasy to a woman during a 2012 dinner in Los Angeles, the singer voiced his opinion over the matter online Sunday in a series of questionable Tweets.

In posts later deleted from his account but preserved elsewhere, the "Fuck You" singer and former The Voice coach tweeted, "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!"

"If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent," he added, among other posts, engaging with fans over the issues of his felony case.

Later, Green deleted the tweets and admitted to doing so when asked, saying, "yes I did. I will not allow that negative energy to loiter on my time line u still got it so keep it! I'm deleting this too"

Monday, Green returned to Twitter with a cooler head, posting an apology that his comments were "taken so far out of context" and stating "I'd never condone the harm of any women."

Lars von Trier's Next Project A Massive TV Series That's "Without Precedent"

It could be argued that all of Lars von Trier's efforts are "without precedent": singular visions from the mind of a filmmaker truly like no other. Because really, who else would've put together a five-and-a-half hour epic about a sex addict that starts with the woman being found beaten in an alley? And even as von Trier closes the book on "Nymphomaniac," with director's cuts of both volumes screening for the first time together at the Venice Film Festival, he's got another big project on the way.

The director —who vowed never to speak to the press again following his Nazi comment controversy at the Cannes Film Festival— appeared via video link at Venice over the weekend during the press conference for "Nymphomaniac Vol II — Director's Cut" (check out three NSFW new clips here) and revealed his next project. Sort of. He didn't say anything (though at one point Stellan Skarsgard held up a sign that said "lifeline" and called von Trier on his cellphone to help answer a question, relaying what the director said) but the filmmaker's producer Louise Vesth did reveal what was next from the provocateur. (lol!)

“Now, when he’s not able to speak, so he cannot say that it’s not true, I’m happy to announce that the next Lars von Trier project will be a TV series in the English language," she said. "He has a really really good idea which I cannot tell more about right now. He wants a huge cast and from what I heard, I’m sure that it will be something that you have never seen before and you will definitely never see again.”

The series will be called "The House That Jack Built," and producer Peter Aalbæk Jensen adds that the show will be “without precedent” and warned that “you better hold your breath.” The plan is to bring together a big international cast, and of course, plots details aren't being revealed due to von Trier still writing the script, with filming only to begin in 2016.

It would seem this project would be leapfrogging projects discussed earlier this year including an "action movie" and a horror film script titled "Detroit" (though it was unclear if he was going to helm the latter). Either way, we're eagerly awaiting whatever von Trier does next, particularly as his last venture into television was the excellent and twisted "The Kingdom." What more could von Trier have up his sleeve? We'll have to wait and see.

Allison Williams has wanted to play Peter Pan since she was "about three years old," and now, the first photo from NBC's upcoming telecast of "Peter Pan Live!" reveals the actress in costume as the boy who won't grow up.

During a visit to TODAY Wednesday, Williams revealed she was ready to go all out to play the role, especially when it came to hair.

"I sort of very tentatively offered to cut my hair, I was like, 'You know, if it's a thing that would help I could cut my hair,' and they were like, 'You're welcome to do that, we're still gonna put you in a wig.'"
