Chances are you didn't know Jesse McCartney released his first album in six years last week. If you did, you probably didn't care. Maybe you half-heartedly danced to "Leavin'" at a high school dance, but you certainly don't have any attachment to him. You're not alone in that – otherwise, In Technicolor wouldn't have only sold 7,846 copies in its first week.
That's not a typo. Remember that Robin Thicke's instantly notorious bomb Paula sold three times that number in its first week. McCartney's album is unquestionably a bomb – and that's a shame, because it's easily one of the best pop albums of the year.
McCartney is clearly taking his efforts to become a Serious Artist seriously, co-writing every song on the record. He's studied the elements that make neo-soul great and deployed them in artful, interesting ways. "Punch Drunk Recreation" is a sexy slice of fun, and single "Superbad" would have been a worthy selection for our Song of Summer. The whole album is danceable and delectable, and a real artistic statement for McCartney.
Yet the question becomes: Who is this album for? McCartney has aged out of one fanbase and never found another. He was a teen heartthrob in the Beautiful Soul/Summerland days, a lightweight bit of fluff to be enjoyed and forgotten. But McCartney wasn't going down without a fight. He showed new depth by co-writing the hit Leona Lewis song "Bleeding Love" and releasing his third album Departure. He wasn't a sensation, but he wasn't a teen flash in the pan, either.
After issues with his label, Hollywood Records, derailed his projected fourth album, he struck out on his own. In Technicolor is the first effort of his independent label, Eight0Eight Records. Such independence, mixed with his neo-soul sound and a still-gorgeous face, would seem to make him Justin Timberlake's successor in the making.
Unfortunately, McCartney isn't a Timberlake. He's not even a Thicke, really. His closest contemporary is probably his old Summerland co-star, Zac Efron, who is also struggling to figure out his next direction. The key differences: Unlike Efron, McCartney is a bit more sure of who he wants to be, but Efron still has a built-in audience.
A new fanbase is hard to build when your old one has disappeared and you're striking out on your own. McCartney deserves our attention and our money, but despite his best efforts, he may be staring down an impossible task.

For fans who haven’t been too excited about the plans Lifetime is reportedly making for its upcoming Aaliyah biopic, those associated with a different film about the singer’s life are sure their version of the movie will please.

For one thing, the feature film, expected to hit theaters in late 2015, will include favorite tracks recorded by Aaliyah before her death. In addition, there will be some never-before-released music, too.

“We’re in a position where we can do the feature film and we can do the music,” said a source close to production.

Singer B.Simone (pictured) has signed on to portray the “One in a Million” artist. Terrence Howard and Wood Harris were named as possible co-stars for the big-screen film, whose script will be written by author Zane. Most importantly, Aaliyah’s uncle and former manager, Barry Hankerson, is working on the project.

Though the TV movie is expected to air later this year, those connected to the feature film don’t think that will decrease the public’s interest in the larger production.

“I think if we do our due-diligence, people will watch the TV movie and still say, ‘I need to see the feature film,’” the source said.

Furry friend: Kelly has several pet dogs, including bulldog Willy (above), who she recently
credited with saving her life after he pulled her out of the path of an oncoming car

Kelly Osbourne has a messy legal fight on her hands after being sued by a landlord who claims she allowed her dogs to defecate all over his luxurious rental home.

The Fashion Police presenter is facing a $50,000 suit over allegations she wrecked the West Hollywood condo she rented until April, 2013, according to TMZ.

In court papers obtained by the website, the property's owner Arshia Refoua claims that his home was left with holes in the walls and extensive damage to the bathroom due to an overflowing bathtub.

He also accuses the 29-year-old daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne of destroying the home's hardwood floors by failing to clean up dog waste and urine before she vacated the property.

In the dog house: Kelly Osbourne, here holding one of her Pomeranian pooches, is facing legal action from the
landlord of her former rented apartment in West Hollywood over claims she caused severe damage to the condo

The lawsuit comes after Kelly initially launched legal action to retrieve her $18,700 deposit late last year.

The Osbourne clan are famously fond of their pet pooches, with Kelly and mum Sharon boasting several dogs between them.

A dog's life: The Osbourne clan are famously fond of their pet pooches,
who also featured on their reality TV hit The Osbournes in the early 2000s

Fans of their hit reality show The Osbournes will also remember the family's ongoing problem of having to clean up after their dogs, with Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy often becoming exasperated at being left to constantly deal with their droppings.

Kelly was left devastated back in 2011 after after losing her Pomeranian puppies Woody and Noodles within weeks of each other.

Among her dogs are two more Pomeranians, Sid and Story, and bulldog Willy, who saved her from serious injury in March when he pulled her back from the curb after she stepped into the path of an oncoming car.

Telling fans about her close call on Twitter, she wrote: 'MyDogJustSavedMyLife we just went for a walk and I fell because Willy pulled me back from getting hit by a car!!!! Then he jumped on top of me to protect me! #WhatAHero!"

Meanwhile, Kelly has another new furry friend in the form of bearded model Ricki Hall, who she has been linked to since early July.

The pair seemingly confirmed their romance earlier this month by sharing an intimate snap of them touching tongues on Instagram, alongside the caption: ''#TasteGood'.

Mike Tyson revealed special effects will be used so that Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx can portray him throughout his troubled life in a film.
The boxer, 48, who was the youngest heavyweight champion at 20, also said Raging Bull director Martin Scorsese would be involved.
He said Foxx, 46, would be transformed by the CGI technology that changed Brad Pitt from an old man to a baby in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.
Tyson said: ”Me and Jamie Foxx are in discussion, and we gonna do it.
"Within a year to 18 months, we’re going to do the Mike Tyson story and he’s going to portray me, and now they have this new animation; because you know Jamie’s pretty much my age so he can’t portray me but they have this new system.
But he said he would only watch the film on his own because in a cinema people would say: “Oh you d**k.”
Foxx, who won his Oscar portraying Ray Charles in 2004, has asked Tyson to train him for the role.

Looking for a little more of Jenny Slate in your life after seeing her gripping flick, Obvious Child? Well, you’re in luck, folks, because the multi talented Slate is about to guest star in one of your favorite shows. Namely, the much talked about and lauded, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. According to Entertainment Weekly, the season old comedy is set to welcome Slate to its season premiere episode as a, ”street-smart mob mistress named Bianca.” While I don’t exactly think of “mob mistress” when it comes to Slate, I’m sure she’ll slay the role.

After all, Slate is a funny woman first and foremost, so this comedy show shouldn’t be anything other than the standard protocol for her. Also, as Brooklyn Nine-Nine enters its second, much awaited season, it’s encouraging to see that they can welcome different talents, like Slate, to give it that extra edge. Though, arguably, they don’t need that much of an edge if you look at their shiny Golden Globes, one for Best Show - Television Series Musical or Comedy and the other to Andy Samberg for Best Actor - Television Series Musical or Comedy.

Controversial R&B singer R. Kelly can’t seem to escape past legal troubles. On Wednesday, organizers of the Fashion Meets Music Festival in Columbus, Ohio, have pulled the “I Believe I can Fly” singer from the Labor Day weekend lineup. Kelly was scheduled to perform on August 29.

Moments after being pulled from the lineup, Kelly’s publicist and the festival released a joint statement offering an apology to fans. The statement said, “Fashion Meets Music Festival and headlining artist R. Kelly have come to the mutual decision to cancel Kelly’s upcoming performance at the inaugural Fashion Meets Music Festival. R. Kelly is sorry to disappoint his fans but looks forward to seeing them in the near future during one of his upcoming tours.”

The decision to dump Kelly from the lineup came after complaints poured in following the announcement that the singer-songwriter was featured as a headliner. The backlash was a result of Kelly’s past legal troubles, particularly his indictment of 21 counts of making child pornography in 2002.

Although Kelly was found not guilty of the charges, he continues to be labeled as a sexual predator. That label stems from his relationship with the late R&B singer Aaliyah, who was just 15 years old when they married, as well as other allegations involving relations with underage girls.

FMMF organizers initially defended their selection of Kelly, but after bands and vendors pulled out, they decided to remove the Chicago-born singer due to the outcry, specifically from the community. Columbus-based folk group Saintseneca was one of the musical acts that were vocal. On their website they wrote that Kelly’s inclusion in the lineup “ignores his very serious allegations of sexual violence and assault.” The festival has no plans of replacing Kelly. The lineup includes Michelle Williams formerly of Destiny’s Child, O.A.R., Rusko, Future Islands, The Menzingers and Maps & Atlases.

Following fans upset at the apparent removal of the character of Janet Van Dyne from next year’s Ant-Man — and the longterm dismay about the lack of a solo movie for Scarlett Johannson’s Black Widow character — Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has opened up about the possibility of a female-led movie from the studio.

“I very much believe in doing it,” he told Comic Book Resources. “I very much believe that it's unfair to say, ‘People don't want to see movies with female heroes,’ then list five movies that were not very good, therefore, people didn't go to the movies because they weren't good movies, versus [because] they were female leads. And they don't mention Hunger Games, Frozen, Divergent. You can go back to Kill Bill or Aliens. These are all female-led movies. It can certainly be done.”

However, that doesn’t mean that Marvel has plans to create such a movie anytime soon, he warned.
“We find ourselves in the very strange position of managing more franchises than most people have — which is a very, very good thing and we don't take for granted, but is a challenging thing,” Feige said, asking whether “you have to put one franchise on hold for three or four years in order to introduce a new one” in order to create a female-led property for the studio.

“I hope we do it sooner rather than later,” he said. Currently, Marvel’s known future projects include Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man for 2015, Captain America 3, Thor 3, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Doctor Strange. Feige has also suggested that a third Avengers movie could be planned for 2018.

Two of summer’s biggest hits could lead to a $5 million year as branding deals and a revived House of Style rev up the female rapper.

Iggy Azalea has been dominating the summer, holding down the top two slots of Billboard’s Summer Songs chart for an uninterrupted nine weeks with “Fancy” and a guest spot on Ariana Grande’s “Problem.” A third single (“Black Widow,” featuring Rita Ora) and an appearance on mentor T.I.’s comeback single, “No Mediocre,” also are scaling the charts. But can she translate early radio ubiquity into a sustainable career? After all, for every summer breakout like Bruno Mars or Katy Perry, there’s a Carly Rae Jepsen or Gotye that can’t quite make that next leap.

There already have been two votes of confidence. Vin Diesel recently revealed that Azalea, 24, filmed a cameo in Fast and Furious 7, due in 2015. And on July 24 MTV named the former Wilhelmina model host of a revived House of Style on The eight-episode run premiered Aug. 4 and will culminate with Azalea’s appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 24 and, two nights later, a House of Style VMA fashion special. The MTV gig is a natural fit for the artist, who was featured in print campaigns for Levi’s and Revolve before The New Classic, her Def Jam debut, arrived in April. Her unprecedented success as a white female rapper and growing clout on tour -- she will headline Budweiser’s Made in America Festival in Los Angeles and the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas -- suggest a promising future.

“She speaks to an audience who hasn’t had an opportunity to have someone really represent them,” says Rene Mclean, founder of music branding-management agency RPM. “At first, hip-hop was super urban, but rap is for everybody now. She was very strategic in the way she set herself up with the ASAP Rocky and T.I. affiliations, doing records with Steve Aoki, and she ended up with a new arsenal.”

Based on her projected royalty rates from two big radio hits and a sold-out tour of clubs and theaters, Azalea will likely pull in $3 million to $5 million in earnings in 2014, sources suggest. And an attempt to leap to the next level is imminent.

Cara Lewis, Azalea’s agent at Creative Artists Agency, says the first leg of a 2015 arena tour already is being routed, and talks are underway with potential brand partners to integrate into the tour.“Iggy’s management team is comprised of all women, and we are in sync as a group when it comes to long-term visions and choosing the right partners,” says Lewis. “There is a lot of attention from the beauty genre, including makeup, hair and skin products.”

Branding experts estimate that Azalea could command mid- to high-six-figures for the right campaign, and potentially more as her stock grows. “Over the past three months, we’ve gotten more inquiries [about her] than any other female artist,” says Ryan Schinman, CEO of music licensing and entertainment marketing firm Platinum Rye. “She’s not as controversial as Miley Cyrus, and she would make a terrific spokesperson for the right products.”

As for the flap surrounding Azalea’s credibility as a rapper, with Nicki Minaj recently throwing shade at the BET Awards about writing her own verses? One major artist manager says that won’t trickle down to the rising star’s business appeal.

“When you look at a lot of pop superstars, Rihanna’s not known to be a songwriter but she has incredible credibility when it comes to fashion and being able to move the cultural needles,” says the source. “To fans and brands, I don’t think that matters much.”

  • 08/01/14--13:29: clearly, she's pregnant.
  • Is there a bat baby on the way?

Jennifer Garner sparked pregnancy rumors Thursday when she was photographed in Los Angeles sporting what appeared to be a growing bump while chatting on her cell phone.

This would be the fourth child for Garner and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" star Ben Affleck.
The married pair of nine years welcomed their third, Samuel, two years ago joining daughters Violet, 8, and Seraphina, 5.

Affleck, 41, has been busy on set in Detroit playing the coveted role of Batman for the highly anticipated film, due out in 2016.

Garner, whose speculated bump has only surfaced in recent photos, has spent time with her other half in the Michigan area over the past few months.

The two made a surprise appearance at a child's birthday party at Detroit Kid City play center on Sunday, July 13 with their son and also celebrated their wedding anniversary at Bistro 82 in Royal Oak, Mich., in late June.

"They looked like a great couple. They paid a lot of attention to each other," an eyewitness told People magazine at the time.

A rep for Garner has yet to respond to the Daily News' request for comment.

Under all those fabulous and fashionable dresses, Zoe Saldana is sporting some serious ink!
During an appearance on Late Show last night, the 36-year-old actress revealed to David Letterman that she has "almost 10" hidden tattoos on various places of her body.

"I'm running out of private places to put them on," the mom-to-be joked. "My husband has more. His are more exposed."

"I am very proud to say I have assisted many friends and family, my sisters, to get tattoos," Saldana went on. "I get them drunk, I wine and dine them, I take them to the tattoo parlor, they come out with tattoos. The next day they're like, ‘What the hell happened?!'"

The Guardians of the Galaxy star added with a laugh, "My grandmother says that I look like a newspaper naked."

Saldana told a similar story to E! News when we caught up with her at the Hollywood premiere of Guardians.

"I can convince you of getting a tattoo in the worst place possible," she revealed. "I am very convincing. That's why I've always been sort of the bad influence out of all the girls in my family."

On her fourth wedding anniversary, Tameka “Tiny” Harris stopped by Power 105.1′s “The Breakfast Club” to promote her much-talked-about single “What You Gon’ Do?

The former Xscape member opened up about her relationship with husband T.I. and said that they are still together despite all the rumors.

She insisted that she wasn’t trying to make T.I. jealous by befriending Floyd Mayweather, but wasn’t interested in talking about the boxing champ. “I don’t wanna talk about Floyd,” she said.

As of now, she doesn’t plan on putting out an album, but may consider releasing an EP with five or six songs.

In June, Azealia Banks and T.I. got into another feud after the “212″ rapper dissed Tiny on Twitter. “U want no mediocre but … Have you seen your wife?” tweeted Banks.

Tiny shot back with some fiery words of her own. Read what she had to say below.

On supporting her man:“He’s the king. I gotta make him feel like the king.”

On T.I.:“He’s all about respect. He’s not gonna be disrespected and feel like he doesn’t have to do something or respond in some kind of way. That’s just him. He’s been like that since I’ve known him.”

On social media: “The only thing that really, really gets me is my kids. … You ain’t gonna talk about them. If you do, I’m gonna check you if I see it.”

On Biggie’s apology for dissing Xscape on “Just Playin’ (R&B Bitches)”:“He just apologized and said that he shouldn’t have said it, how he was ugly too and you guys look good now.”

On Azealia Banks:“Who is she, first of all? Who is she to be talking about anybody? She’s not looking like anything—bottom of my shoe, and that looks a little better. She’s just mad. Get your own. Don’t try to live off my name. Iggy Azalea is really who you mad at. It’s really all about Iggy. … I don’t really get what the beef is. Well, I do ’cause Iggy’s doing her thing.”

Tiny's debut solo single "What the Fuk You Gon Do?" was released last week and went #1 on iTunes R&B / top 20 overall (When will Azzuzu?) and you can buy it here !! Hopefully they promote it, could be come a REAL hit with radio support.
